[0:00] I don't know what to read there's so [0:01] many manga volumes I'm just getting into [0:02] and everyone says everything's the best [0:03] volume and there's just too many to even [0:05] pick from I don't know what to read calm [0:07] down my beginner manga friend I'm here [0:08] to tell you the way of manga and teach [0:10] you exactly which ones you should be [0:11] reading as a beginner so here we go [0:13] let's get into my five recommendations [0:14] for beginner manga readers to help you [0:16] jump start your reading journey and not [0:17] give you too many headaches let's go let [0:19] me give you a breakdown of what I'm [0:20] basing these mangas off of there's five [0:22] key components to a beginner manga for [0:24] me number one the art needs to be clean [0:26] if the art is super hard to read super [0:27] dark super cluttered it's not going to [0:29] be in here all of these mangas I'm going [0:30] to recommend are going to have easy art [0:32] that's going to be easy for you to read [0:33] while your eyes get used to reading [0:34] manga number two they have to be readily [0:36] available if they're not readily [0:37] available they will not be on the list [0:39] number three is going to be the story [0:40] the story is going to be simple but good [0:42] I don't think you should be reading [0:43] anything that is mind-blowing yet [0:44] because you're just getting into reading [0:45] manga for the first time and you're [0:46] probably going to miss a lot of things [0:48] if the story is over overwhelming when [0:50] you're still trying to like figure out [0:51] how to read it to begin with number two [0:53] or number four whatever it is they need [0:54] to be cheap I am not going to be [0:55] recommending anything that's going to [0:56] cost you tons of money like berserk I [0:58] see some people recommend berserk [0:59] berserk Deluxe is $50 a book and there's [1:01] 14 of them do the math on that it's like [1:03] $700 no no no no no I'm not going to be [1:05] recommending bleach one piece even [1:06] though bleach is my favorite manga it's [1:08] long and it's expensive I know it's not [1:09] good for beginners and lastly they have [1:11] to look cool you're building a [1:13] collection you want it to look cool we [1:14] all do trust me I that's the only reason [1:17] I have all this is to look cool I'm [1:19] kidding yeah they need to have cool [1:20] spines that look on a shelf when lined [1:21] up and they need to have cool covers so [1:23] all these series are going to follow [1:24] those five recommendations but um yeah [1:25] let's get into it so at number five we [1:27] have this beautiful series called sack [1:30] days which follows this old fat man [1:32] named Taro Sakamoto who in his prime was [1:35] Japan's most legendary Hitman to ever [1:36] exist now he's a middle-aged fat man who [1:39] runs a convenience store so unfortunate [1:41] he is wrote back into the world of [1:43] hitman's um when some of his old [1:45] acquaintances and enemies come back and [1:47] kind of rope him out of it so it's a [1:49] super cool series it's a very simple [1:51] series basically a battle shown in um [1:54] not even a battle shown in just a battle [1:55] manga where this is actually the main [1:57] character and him and Sakamoto go on [1:59] these Ventures together and fight the [2:01] enemy at hand um it's super cool because [2:03] the art and choreography is almost the [2:05] art and choreography might be the best [2:07] choreography fights in manga that I've [2:09] read the choreography is ridiculous the [2:10] art is super good too and clean to read [2:12] yeah so Sakamoto days has some of the [2:14] coolest covers as of now I would say [2:17] like some of these covers are ridiculous [2:19] they are probably untouched in the manga [2:21] scene if we're being honest with [2:22] ourselves like these covers are [2:24] absolutely ridiculous and the spines [2:26] look super good as well in Sakamoto days [2:28] so definitely check out Sakamoto days [2:29] that's my number five recommendation [2:31] let's jump into the number four number [2:32] four is going to Kaiju number eight I [2:35] don't know if you guessed it you [2:36] probably could have Kaiju number eight [2:37] is a great beginner manga because of how [2:39] simple the story is and how clean the [2:40] art is the art in this might be easier [2:42] to read especially in fight scenes than [2:43] Sakamoto days but the art in this is [2:45] super easy and clean to read the covers [2:47] are awesome and super colorful and [2:49] vibrant the spines look amazing on the [2:51] Shelf like amazing the colors are crazy [2:53] overall gist of Kaiju number eight is [2:55] Japan is overruled with monsters called [2:57] Kaiju and there's a special forces team [2:59] that has put together to fight these [3:00] Kaiju off and keep them keep people out [3:02] of Harm's Way when Kafka the main [3:04] character is enrolled into this Special [3:06] Forces Unit and then they go on a [3:08] cleanup type of mission he is infected [3:10] with a special Kaiju something um I [3:13] don't want to spoil too much and then he [3:15] becomes half Kaiju half human he is has [3:18] crazy abilities um he can turn into a [3:20] Kaiju and fight them so it kind of [3:22] follows him there are crazy characters [3:23] in this super cool characters as well [3:25] the story isn't anything Earth [3:27] shattering but it's fun it's engaging [3:29] and it's easy to read and that's what [3:30] we're here for as a beginner so they're [3:32] cheap they're like $10 a book so and [3:34] there's 10 of them so like 100 bucks for [3:35] all of them it is ongoing but um yeah [3:37] look at some of these covers the colors [3:39] on these are so I don't even know if the [3:41] camera does them Justice that's kij [3:43] number eight you need to be reading KY [3:44] number eight as a beginner baby let's [3:46] get into the number three [3:47] recommendations we're going to switch it [3:48] up a little bit all righty my third [3:49] recommendation recommendation for you [3:51] guys is going to be Tokyo Ghoul and [3:53] Tokyo gou re obviously pretty much knows [3:55] what this is the anime did not do it [3:57] justice at all so Tokyo Ghoul has to be [3:59] on this list I know some people might be [4:00] like oh it's too deep for beginners it's [4:02] too dark I think but I don't want to [4:03] give you guys all bunch of Basics shown [4:05] in New Gen obviously some of them are [4:06] really good to get into to start getting [4:07] into manga but I think Tokyo Ghoul this [4:09] was the first like full series I ever [4:11] read and it was awesome this is probably [4:13] one of the most well-written and unique [4:15] sanss I've ever read it's super dark but [4:18] also easy to read so I haven't had I [4:20] didn't have any issues depicting what [4:21] was actually going on in the panels [4:22] whereas some other mangas who do Dark [4:24] Art they make it really kind of blend [4:26] together and it gets hard Tokyo Ghoul [4:27] does has a good way of not doing that [4:29] but the basic gist is you have the main [4:31] character Ken kaneki who is a young [4:34] innocent boy who loves reading books and [4:36] he goes to his favorite coffee shop [4:37] every day and he meets this girl named [4:39] Rise um they start hanging out they [4:41] start talking books she's super into [4:42] books he finds out she's a ghoul and she [4:44] tries to eat him and kill him and then [4:45] she ends up dying she ends up dying and [4:47] he is barely half alive after being [4:49] attacked by her her organs are [4:51] transplanted into him and now he is half [4:53] cool and half human and now he goes [4:55] through these struggles of trying to fit [4:57] into Both Worlds and he does not do good [4:59] because [5:00] to be a ghoul you can't eat food you [5:02] have to eat humans and he's a little kid [5:03] who was human so eating humans for him [5:05] is not really on the table and is very [5:07] traumatizing so he doesn't really know [5:09] he starts going insane little spoiler he [5:11] eventually does crash out completely and [5:13] become super op and literally insane [5:15] like mentally insane so Tokyo Ghoul is a [5:17] crazy like tragic hero story that you [5:19] should be reading if you're into manga [5:20] this is for an older audience so if you [5:23] are young like 10 12 I don't know if [5:25] you're watching this if you're 10 but I [5:26] wouldn't recommend this but if you are [5:28] 16 plus I would say this is great story [5:30] that you'll understand the themes enough [5:31] being old enough so definitely check [5:33] this out again the covers [5:35] are um super cool like I said the covers [5:38] of this are are super cool so that fits [5:39] into the category also it's super cheap [5:41] you can get both box sets I think box [5:43] set one of Tokyo Ghoul is like 100 110 [5:46] bucks box set two is like 160 so you're [5:48] getting this whole series of 30 volumes [5:49] for like 200 bucks or something 250 [5:51] bucks so definitely fits that and it um [5:54] has cool spines the spines all line up [5:56] and they are super clean so you need to [5:57] check out Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo goul if [6:00] you're a beginner um but yeah let's get [6:01] to the next righty the number two [6:03] recommendation is here and that is jujuu [6:06] kaisen a lot of you might be screaming [6:07] right now ju sucks not even Good Ju is [6:11] not even Good Ju is the worst of dark [6:12] tra shut it Chumps it's my [6:14] recommendation list and ju ka's number [6:16] two I recommend this to almost all my [6:18] friends who are just getting into manga [6:19] because I think it's a super good entry [6:21] way that's super fun and engaging but [6:22] also not super deep jjk is again another [6:25] kind of simple story it is about follows [6:27] a kid named Yuji itadori who is a high [6:29] Schooler in a world where Japan is [6:31] overrun with cursed Spirits only people [6:33] with cursed energy can see and fend off [6:36] the only way a normal person can see [6:38] cursed Spirits is in a life or death [6:40] situation which Yugi is put into and he [6:42] ends up consuming a cursed object that [6:44] he was chasing for his Ghost Hunter club [6:46] that is of sua the main the main [6:48] antagonist in this story he then has sua [6:50] as part of him inside of him he is [6:52] luckily a super strong like superum [6:55] strong kind of person who is able to [6:56] fend him off internally and control his [6:59] own body still so it he then after now [7:02] acquiring this cursed energy and being [7:03] able to fight cursed Spirit the magic [7:05] Technical College which he trains under [7:07] Satur Gojo probably the coolest [7:09] character in manga I don't know maybe [7:11] not he's so cool though and I love him [7:13] any character with white hair you know [7:14] is going to be cool but yeah it's a [7:16] super cool series it's of the dark Trio [7:17] so it is Shonen but it is a little bit [7:19] of a darker take on Shonen which is cool [7:21] so you need to check this out the Art's [7:22] great the characters are great the [7:23] covers are super cool as well this [7:25] Volume 14 is actually one of my favorite [7:27] covers in my collection but yeah that is [7:29] um that is going to be my second [7:31] recommendation juuk kais and let's get [7:33] on to my last recommendation which a lot [7:34] of you probably haven't even heard about [7:36] so I'm excited to recommend it a lot of [7:37] you might be pissed at I'm recommending [7:39] this cuz you're like oh it should be [7:40] bleach or one piece no one this is my [7:42] list two I want to put you guys on to [7:44] some heat and that heat and my [7:46] number one recommendation is Alice and [7:47] Borderland Alice and Borderland is one [7:49] of my favorite mangas probably in my top [7:51] three just because of how awesome the [7:53] story is you're going to read a lot of [7:54] manga in your journey that you're [7:56] starting and a lot of it's going to seem [7:57] kind of similar definitely going to be [7:58] some different point points and [7:59] abilities and Power Systems but it's [8:01] kind of going to be a little bit similar [8:03] Alice and Borderland everything's here [8:04] Alice and borderland's here the story is [8:06] of like nothing you've read before [8:07] especially since you're a beginner but [8:09] it's like nothing you'll read again so [8:10] you'll read this and you won't read [8:12] another Series be like oh it's kind of [8:13] the same gist but Alison Borderland is [8:15] going to be San so it is going to be [8:17] geared a little bit towards more adults [8:19] um it does have darker themes in it but [8:21] it follows um arisu I think that's how [8:23] you pronounce it I don't know and he is [8:25] a um kind of lost teenager who doesn't [8:29] really where he's going in life and what [8:30] to do with life and he's kind of over it [8:32] he then gets transported to like a [8:33] parallel world a parallel world that is [8:35] almost in the future and it's run down [8:37] and there's nobody there him and his [8:38] friends are transported there he finds [8:40] that the only way to survive in this [8:41] world is to play Death game with the [8:43] other players in this parallel world so [8:45] he then goes through all of these [8:46] different games trying to survive if you [8:48] don't play the games you die if you play [8:50] the games and lose you die the only way [8:51] to win and survive in this world is [8:53] playing these games and trust me Guys [8:55] these games are so cool they're so [8:57] thought out and well written that [8:58] they're each everyone is so engaging and [9:00] fun to read that you're going to love [9:02] every single one and you're going to [9:03] wish there was more games to read [9:05] definitely check out aliceon Borderland [9:07] it is also cheap I think there's nine [9:09] volumes the covers are super cool and [9:11] they're also probably the best quality [9:13] um omnibuses I've ever read these are [9:15] two in one volumes also the spines all [9:17] linked together and form a city when put [9:20] together which is super cool I'll guess [9:21] in Boll of that but um yeah Alison [9:23] Borderland is awesome there is the live [9:25] action on Netflix but it's not as good [9:27] as the manga trust me I've watched both [9:29] watched it and I read this so you need [9:31] to check out Alison Borderland if you're [9:33] a beginner because one I'm recommending [9:35] it and I'm awesome two it's super good [9:36] and super fun and it's going to be like [9:38] nothing you've read so far I promise so [9:40] check out Alison Borderland as my number [9:41] one recommendation but yeah that is my [9:43] list for you beginners I hope you [9:45] enjoyed all of them they're all going to [9:46] be great reads for you they're all going [9:47] to be easy cheap engaging and easy to [9:50] find and they're going to look good on [9:51] your shelves so I hope you enjoyed if [9:53] you did like follow or if you did like [9:56] subscribe and comment which one you're [9:58] going to read next but um yeah that's [10:00] everything so I'll catch you [10:04] [Music]
