[00:01] per year to have four kids with a stay-at-home wife? $100,000. If you do grand a month, probably coming in, maybe five if you're high taxes in California, that's two grand a month. You got three grand a month to play with to cover [00:15] of fun money. >> With four kids? >> What do kids actually need? Maybe formula, diapers, and basic clothing. We >> Okay. Can we [00:27] do the actual math now? For a salary of $100,000, the average take home pay is $100,000, the average take home pay is about $70,000 or $5,833 a month. For housing, we'll use his numbers, $2,000 a month for a mortgage, [00:39] which means with today's mortgage rates, you have to buy something at $310,000 or less, which is possible, but very difficult cuz the national average is $420,000. Average utility bill in the US is 610 bucks for a family of four. [00:53] of six here, but I'm going to be generous and just use 610. Health insurance for a family of four, even if you have employer assistance, averages $1,450 a month for a family of four. For a [01:06] family of six, I'm calling it 1,800. What about cars and transportation? The average American household has 1.9 cars and an average car payment of $540 per month. Put that together, that's $1,020 [01:19] per month on your car. Add gas to that, which is $175 a month. Car insurance is another $420 a month. What about food? Average grocery bill for a family of six, $1,800 a month. That's just groceries, doesn't even [01:33] count eating out at all. Do I even need to keep going here because we're already at negative $2,000, and I haven't even started talking about household expenses, clothing, education costs, repairs to your home, vacations, saving [01:48] for retirement.
