## Summary

Mark from Visual Pro Detailing answers whether ceramic coatings are worth it, giving a definitive yes for those who value their time and see their vehicle as an investment. He explains that coatings save significant time in long-term maintenance and protect the vehicle's appearance, making them cost-effective.

### Key Points

- **Time savings** [0:05] — Ceramic coatings save time by eliminating the need for frequent waxing and professional detailing. The coating makes cleaning easier and preserves gloss, reducing aesthetic touch-ups.
- **DIY investment vs. long-term benefit** [1:36] — Initial DIY investment in coatings, tools, and research pays off because the car stays cleaner longer, reducing future washing time.
- **User testimonial** [2:00] — A full-size pickup truck owner reports washing and drying in 30-45 minutes after coating, compared to hours before.
- **Vehicle as investment** [2:37] — Mark ceramic coated his new Hyundai Palisade and after 18,000-19,000 miles the paint still looks nearly new except for rock chips. Coating is seen as protecting the vehicle's value.
- **Core value proposition** [4:10] — Ceramic coatings are worth it for ease of cleaning and protecting the investment; other benefits like swirl resistance are fringe. Professional coating costs $500–$2,000 and is worth it if you value the car.

### Conclusion

Ceramic coatings are a worthwhile investment for car owners who value their time and want to protect their vehicle's appearance and resale value. The key benefits are major time savings in cleaning and superior long-term protection.

hello everyone mark here from visual pro
detailing today i want to answer
very simply and quickly the question are
ceramic coatings worth it
my answer to that question is definitely
yes
if you value your time and if you see
your vehicle as an investment
now first of all let's talk about the
time part
having a ceramic coating applied to your
vehicle either whether you are
purchasing it from a professional and
having them apply
it or whether you are doing the diy
method and applying it yourself
is going to save you a lot of time in
the long term
why because you're not going to be
waxing the vehicle you're not going to
be
taking it to the detailer as often
because if you're having someone else
detail and take care of your vehicle
because
it's got a protective coating on it it's
easier to clean it's more chemical
resistant
and it's going to preserve the gloss
much better so you're not going to need
the aesthetic touch-ups as often
whenever you have that ceramic coating
applied
let's say you're a diy-er and you decide
to do a ceramic coating yourself
okay there is the initial investment of
time and resources to not only purchase
the coatings for all the tools and pads
and all that stuff that you're going to
need
to properly apply the coating but you
also as i've said before in other videos
to need to do some research
and really find out how the coatings are
properly applied
so that you do a good job and you get
the best bond possible therefore the
best durability possible out of the
coating
once you do that however the work is
done the coating is on the car
the car looks great and you are going to
spend significantly
less time taking care of the vehicle now
that you have the coating on it
in fact when it comes to my actual
newers there's my
clients that purchase coatings from me
that is the
number one compliment that i get
about ceramic coatings after the fact is
that it saves me
so much time i've got a full-size pickup
truck
and now that i have a ceramic coating
applied on it i'm
getting the whole thing washed and dried
in 30
45 minutes and it was taken me hours out
there
on a saturday afternoon to get this
truck clean
because the coating has so much ease of
cleaning
benefits so if you look at that alone
if your time is valuable to you and
you're wanting to save
time taking care of your vehicle just in
that realm
ceramic coatings are well worth it one
of the first things that i did when i
purchased my new
hyundai palisade last year was bring it
in the shop
and ceramic coated and since then the
vehicle has
18 000 almost 19 000 miles on it in a
little over a year
we put a lot of miles on it i use it for
some business use and
test products and when i go on business
trips and stuff like that
i use the car a lot we put a lot of
miles on it
and the only thing i've ever done to the
thing since ceramic coating it
is wash it and dry it well and it still
looks
very very similar other than a few
unstoppable rock chips
it looks very very similar to what it
did whenever i pulled it right off the
car lot
so the other side of is a ceramic
coating
worth it is do you see your vehicle as a
an investment to me whenever we
purchased
that vehicle it was around a forty
thousand dollar suv which is
not a lot to some people and it's a ton
of money to others but it was the most
expensive vehicle that i'd ever bought
and i said i want to have the best
protection possible on this thing
because
i plan on owning this easily five plus
years
i saw the vehicle as an investment so
although i didn't have the
the overall sticker price of a ceramic
coating i still had to give
my time towards applying it prepping it
purchasing the products putting the
products on it
so if i look at it in that realm i saw
the vehicle as an investment and i
wanted to protect that investment make
it easier to clean
easier to take care of and in those
realms the ceramic coating has blown
my expectations away i can never drive a
vehicle without one now so
just in those rounds there's a lot of
detailers that will talk about
swirl mark resistance and chemical
resistance all that stuff is good and
fine and dandy
but saving you time and protecting your
investment and making it easier to own
that's when ceramic coatings are really
worth it all the other stuff
is a fringe benefit or it's greatly
oversold
by a lot of people but if you're looking
for ease of cleaning
and protection for your investment in
that realm
paying anywhere from 500 to a couple
thousand dollars for a ceramic coating
is well worth it if you value the
vehicle
that you have purchased or the vehicle
that you already own
