[0:00] welcome to the Mythic plus pug healing [0:03] guide 2023 my name is Bowser the Healer [0:06] and if you're not a Healer player don't [0:08] worry there's still a lot of very good [0:10] Mythic plus information here but then [0:13] eventually we're going to transition [0:14] into more healing based things so if you [0:15] want to get into the mind of a Healer [0:16] you're also in the right place down [0:18] below I'm going to have everything I can [0:20] possibly grab linked my add-ons my [0:23] profiles my Wii cores you name it I'm [0:25] going to try to have it down below no [0:27] pay walls no nothing like that I only [0:28] ask that you hit the like button if you [0:30] like the video and you get subscribed if [0:32] you want more content like this but [0:33] there's a ton to go through let's get [0:35] into it use the comment section if you [0:36] have any questions Mythic plus culture [0:39] so it's a bit of a wild west out there [0:41] my only request to you as a player is [0:44] that you're personally responsible for [0:45] your place so if you have something like [0:47] Nvidia Shadow play like an instant [0:49] replay system that's wonderful for [0:51] double checking things that go wrong or [0:53] things that go incredibly well you can [0:55] use things like details to track damage [0:57] taken or deaths to kind of see what [0:59] people were doing wrong or getting him [1:00] by the most there's lots of tools out [1:03] there and players they're gonna vary [1:05] you're gonna have groups that do amazing [1:06] in groups that do terrible you're gonna [1:08] have people calling you out for mistakes [1:10] that are completely right you got to [1:11] take that on the chin and just learn and [1:13] then you're gonna have people calling [1:14] you out for mistakes that have no idea [1:16] what they're talking about so try not to [1:19] get too personally invested right if a [1:21] group falls apart try to be nice and [1:23] just go next it's the best advice I can [1:26] give okay on to some weak auras we got [1:29] two here they're both gonna display in [1:30] the party finder window and these make [1:32] finding groups a heck of a lot easier [1:34] the server region names is going to tell [1:36] you where the group is located that's [1:39] going to help you avoid any unnecessary [1:41] lag and so you don't have to memorize a [1:42] bunch of server names and where they are [1:44] the week or for class colors is just [1:46] going to display what classes are in a [1:49] key they're not going to necessarily be [1:50] able to give you specializations outside [1:52] of uh the process of elimination it can [1:54] be great to go into a dungeon knowing [1:56] hey this group has two battle resses or [1:59] oh there's a there's a there's a priest [2:01] in this party we're gonna have mass [2:02] dispel that sort of thing is an absolute [2:05] godsend and also if you want to find a [2:07] good meme key right like four Warriors [2:09] and a Healer or a whole monk party this [2:13] is another great way to find those keys [2:15] I have some pretty strong opinions about [2:17] this one deadly boss mods and bigwigs I [2:20] honestly think basically every player [2:22] should have them installed if you don't [2:23] like how invasive they are they're very [2:26] customizable so I highly recommend [2:28] customizing them but we we know this [2:31] from Esports we know this from Sports [2:32] and from rally racing and all sorts of [2:34] disciplines having call outs just helps [2:37] with the mental stack it helps players [2:39] focus on their gameplay while still [2:41] doing mechanics it's great it's super [2:44] useful highly recommend you set it up I [2:46] would not be entering Mythic Plus [2:47] without it it's it's simply too good [2:50] it's too strong and it'll make you a [2:52] better player if you're the Keystone [2:54] holder and it's your run that you're [2:56] posting make sure that you initiate a [2:58] ready check you can use Slash RC for [3:00] this and a pull timer once everyone's [3:03] ready with Slash pull slash pull by [3:05] default will do 10 seconds players have [3:07] pre-pull things to do but they always [3:09] want to set up and even if they don't [3:11] it's a nice polite way to tell people to [3:13] Tab out of whatever internet browser or [3:15] something that they're doing and be [3:17] ready to play [3:18] for learning dungeons I have a couple of [3:21] piece of advice first and foremost the [3:23] Mythic plus dungeon Journal actually [3:25] gives you a ton of information short [3:27] reads great for bosses it's a good start [3:29] but if you need more my best advice is [3:32] find a favorite YouTuber go watch them [3:34] do a run on Twitch or on YouTube and [3:37] you'll get a general sense of the route [3:39] if you want to get into the nitty-gritty [3:41] though Mythic dungeon tools is an add-on [3:43] that's simply a mapping tool for routes [3:45] and you can click into every single mob [3:47] see what they cast see what kind of CC [3:49] is uh usable on them incredibly powerful [3:52] tool but what if that intimidates you a [3:55] whole percent business well unless [3:56] you're a tank it's not really your job [3:58] so you'll learn those magical little [4:00] percent numbers as you play try not to [4:03] make that something you're stressing [4:04] about as a Healer because we already [4:06] have enough things to stress out about [4:08] interrupts CC and off healing for your [4:11] DPS player are mandatory at this point [4:14] in World of Warcraft so make sure you [4:16] have them on hand and they're easy to [4:18] hit you will learn as the key levels go [4:20] up some moves you have to interrupt them [4:23] and then other moves can be ignored but [4:25] as that key level goes up there are some [4:28] things that go from like oh that hurts [4:30] to oh that's lethal details is an add-on [4:32] that lets you track DPS in healing but [4:35] it also lets you track a ton of other [4:36] things too and one of the ones I [4:38] mentioned earlier are track some deaths [4:40] it's not toxic to see why people died [4:43] it's in fact super useful because you [4:46] can learn some very Niche things about [4:47] the game and you can also learn like hey [4:49] what move is that oh I could have [4:50] interrupted that or oh that's a frontal [4:52] I didn't know that mob had a frontal and [4:54] that kind of information again it just [4:57] saves lives so have a death window thank [4:59] me later okay so now on to more of the [5:02] healing side of things Mana management [5:04] is important on every single healer [5:06] first of all make sure you are talented [5:08] into your Mana region of whatever your [5:10] class does and learn how to play in low [5:13] Mana spend time reviewing what you can [5:15] do that doesn't cost a ton of Mana see [5:18] if you have any combinations or spells [5:20] that you can use that might be even Mana [5:22] positive it is important that we yell [5:24] the tank sometimes that we need a drink [5:26] before we go into the next boss fight [5:27] but I've had bosses that get pulled and [5:31] I'm at 20 mana and what do you do you [5:33] gotta work with what you got so the [5:35] better you can manage your Mana the [5:37] easier your life is but make sure you [5:39] have a stack of Mana pots around it's a [5:41] very good investment make sure you speak [5:43] up as a Healer you are in control of the [5:46] lives of the team so telling people use [5:48] personals or Focus this enemy down will [5:50] help save you the amount of healing you [5:52] need giving you a little more free time [5:53] free time is useful for doing damage or [5:56] interrupting things or positioning my [5:58] favorite line to say of all time is [6:00] during no coup defensive during the [6:02] storm boss I'll say move in on storming [6:04] or die works every time another good one [6:06] is watch for frontals or stop getting [6:09] hit by frontals again it's okay to say [6:12] those things don't worry about it plan [6:14] your cooldowns as the key levels get [6:16] harder fortified and tyrannical hit very [6:19] different you'll have very hard phases [6:21] of damage but they might vary from week [6:23] to week or from pull to pull and it's [6:25] not Universal sometimes it's class to [6:27] class I have some setups in the Ruby [6:28] Life Pools or preservation evoker to [6:31] deal with the blazebound Destroyers and [6:33] their infernal cast yeah I gotta save [6:34] temporal anomaly and cycle my cooldowns [6:37] correctly but like yeah I could just [6:39] spin on mystreeper so it's important to [6:42] plan things out but just remember that [6:44] it's not always going to be the same [6:45] across all healers okay I'm gonna try [6:47] not to scare anyone with this one doing [6:49] short math on incoming damage so let's [6:52] say a spell hit someone for 40 of their [6:54] health bar that means in theory that if [6:57] they are 40 health and they get hit they [6:59] would die but that's also sort of [7:01] cutting it close right so I always like [7:03] to give them a 10 20 Health buffer ah [7:06] that spell does about 40 damage or 40 [7:08] percent of their health right okay then [7:10] I'm not gonna let them drop below 50 or [7:12] 55. there are situations where you can't [7:15] just keep people topped up as a Healer [7:17] and so it's important while you're doing [7:19] damage or interrupting or whatever the [7:20] heck you're doing that you can stop and [7:22] go hey that person's a little low I [7:25] don't want them to die one thing you can [7:26] do that really helps though is making [7:27] sure that your plates are set up your [7:29] enemy nameplates are set up in such a [7:31] way that you can see who they are [7:33] targeting for their next cast this is [7:35] great for a you can know who's about to [7:37] get double bolted by something and B [7:39] it's also useful for oh that one's gonna [7:41] hit the tank okay well the Tank's fine [7:43] the tank can handle it or hey that [7:45] Warrior probably has spell reflect up I [7:47] can let them reflect it and of course if [7:49] they don't reflect it you should go [7:50] check if spell reflect is now on [7:52] cooldown [7:53] speaking of omni CD is an add-on that I [7:56] use that lets you track cooldowns most [7:58] things show up in Omni CD I'll have my [8:00] profile down below that covers most [8:02] mitigation active mitigation and health [8:04] pods it's really important to know when [8:07] your tank has absolutely no gas left and [8:10] you need to start babysitting them or if [8:12] a player has been targeted by too many [8:13] mechanics you can see they have nothing [8:15] left you can put a bubble on them or [8:17] whatever you need to do to keep them [8:18] alive and while we're on interface make [8:20] sure for whatever you use for party [8:22] frames you can see debuffs make sure [8:25] it's very visible as the dbm and bigwig [8:28] Style mods don't always call out every [8:30] nasty disk spell I know lvui has a [8:33] feature where the health bar would turn [8:34] like an alternative color when there's a [8:36] dispel you can manage features like this [8:38] are a game changer especially for new [8:40] healers Health pods you should have a [8:43] fat stack of these within easy reach as [8:46] a Healer you don't really use them when [8:47] DPS use them you use them when you're [8:49] busy healing other people and can't stop [8:51] to heal yourself their own gcd so you [8:54] can use them right after casting a spell [8:56] or right before you cast a spell it's [8:58] very very important that you don't die [9:00] as the Healer damage is time save I have [9:03] an entire video on this topic if you [9:05] want to watch it once you're in the 15 [9:07] and Beyond category I want you to start [9:09] knowing how to weave in your damage [9:11] there's footage that's been playing this [9:13] whole time I had a super close Temple of [9:14] the Jade serpent 23 it went down to a [9:17] couple of seconds if you do the math of [9:19] the combat time and my percentage of [9:21] damage you'll find out that in that boss [9:23] fight alone I save 12 seconds due to my [9:25] DPS yeah if if I wasn't doing damage we [9:28] probably didn't time that boss fight [9:30] it's that important at high level play [9:32] be flexible coming up with their own [9:35] builds is fun and it's more than viable [9:37] and I encourage it but as the content [9:39] gets harder especially towards the 20 [9:42] range or whenever gear score starts [9:43] letting up make sure you have [9:45] cross-reference The Meta builds metagame [9:48] is inevitable and I've also done an [9:50] entire video on that on my old Channel [9:52] but there will be a point where you run [9:55] into trouble healing or doing damage or [9:57] helping control a pack and you can't be [9:59] doing something subpar if it starts [10:01] costing entire runs this isn't a huge [10:04] deal again until that 20 and Beyond [10:07] category you can get away with a lot of [10:09] fun builds it's very important as you [10:11] start getting better at the game that [10:12] you do cross-reference more meta builds [10:14] so you can understand the why and the [10:16] how that being said sometimes there are [10:19] easier builds that work well with [10:21] different stat weights so if you're [10:22] learning a class and something is a [10:24] little bit easier to start off with for [10:26] healing it's okay to use that while [10:28] you're learning just again be sure to [10:30] cross-reference the more meta builds so [10:32] that as you get better you can swap to [10:34] maybe more efficient talents also note [10:36] that the game gets easier the more your [10:38] rotations and buttons become second [10:40] nature this is something I see across [10:43] all of Esports but the less time you [10:44] need to spend looking at your bars and [10:47] the more time you could say focus on the [10:49] fight itself in your party frames the [10:51] easier your life gets but this is a time [10:54] thing let your brain do its whole [10:56] neuropathway thing and learn it will [10:58] come to you I really wish I had a list [11:01] like this when I was first learning how [11:02] to learn there were a lot of pieces of [11:04] information that players weren't telling [11:06] me about Dungeons and about runs that I [11:08] just wish I had a better understanding [11:09] of start with low Keys there's nothing [11:12] wrong with learning on the lower end of [11:13] things as you work up the gear score and [11:16] the ability to start doing higher keys [11:18] but that's going to do it for this video [11:20] again hit like if you liked it hit [11:22] subscribe if you want more and I will [11:24] see you all in the next one take care [11:26] friends
