off your ego train and get into your growing mindset and football team and you're playing middle linebacker right now and cornerback. You're a safety, a defensive end. Become a quarterback, a running back, a wide
receiver. You're on straight defense. McKenzie, they're worried about wasting time for the opportunity to dramatically grow their business. Could you imagine if me and AJ sat here 15 years ago and said, "No one can do social media like
us." Here's where people get confused, McKenzie. You don't need your employees to be as good as you. They don't need to be at your level. It's called scaling.
everyone's like, "Gary, aren't How are you going to build this business? Everyone's going to want you." I'm like, "No, they're not." beginning. I'm going to create a lot of osmosis. I'm going to teach. And then
you let the birds fly. This is incredibly grounded in two things, ego and fear. Fundamentally, you've got to put in the time to build someone up, then they quit,
then they stink, then their spouse moves and they have to leave, and you take next person and the next person. It's called scaling a business. Let me ask what Valentine and her partner or his partner's alternative is.

sure I'm putting all the effort into the product. Yep. Should I be putting my like company name, 911 Initiative, like on all of my products I get? Or does it matter? Like it's not like Jane Doe's like consulting services. Because like
me, I'm not the biggest fan when people do that. I think there's a subtle way to make sure it has the most impact. Yeah, I think there's a subtle way to do it. I right now, right? This is obviously VFriends. It's heavy resilient cuz it's
cool to wear. And then the little red devil on the side, right? So, there's could have it in the back patch, on the mug, you could have it underneath, inside, on the on the, you know, journal. Maybe when people open it, it
could be on the inside cover, on the bottom of the left. So, yeah, I think a want to be a private label you're I think too many people blow it and they makes it cheesy and nobody wants a rocket. Does that make sense?
Yeah, exactly. So I I think I think a subtle a subtle exactly You're actually thinking beautifully. You're thinking like a consumer. Right? Which is what you always want to
do. The reason so much has worked for me is I always think about the customer as if I'm the customer. Like what would I do as the customer? And I think most of unless we're completely in love with the brand.

were running out of money, they had other issues in other places, then maybe was consequences above his pay grade, not in his category of work, but people will tell you if you ask. McKenzie, most people are scared to ask

that inside of me and I'm I'm working at a corporate job Yes. and they don't seem to value that as much. So I was wondering your opinion on like the best jobs that care about soft
There's a lot like where to find those kind of Yeah. Yeah. I would say that first of all, there is more companies out there that actually than people realize. The problem is it's still 1 to 3% of corporations.
It's a low number by percentage, but it's a high number overall. The way you find it, I believe, is through word of mouth of things you trust or people you trust on the internet that
a person that you've built a long relationship with. It's one of the VeeFriends. Uh if you read the chat right now, you'll find this. VeeFriends OGs that have been part of VeeFriends for last 3
4 years, how much do you trust fellow OG So you everybody know in the chat. I think you've got to find someone you trust to tell you truth cuz you know this, we've all been fooled by interviewing and
it's a great environment here. We care about our people." And then a month into the job, you're like, "Motherfucker, this is a [ __ ] cesspool of politics this is a [ __ ] cesspool of politics and [ __ ] you know, toxic Yeah. So we
things, brother, that I get said when I meet new employees here is that they can't believe that our [ __ ] during the interviewing process was real and And so that's honestly the thing that I'm most uh flattered by. So, you know,
what I would say is A, you should be looking for that. And B, lot of networking in the Columbus, Ohio area, going to like meetups, work stuff. Like there's a lot of way there's a lot of ways to get out there and meet people
and I highly recommend that in a real way because you'll get real word of mouth or doing, you know, real hard searches. People are telling the truth on Reddit and Twitter, you know that. Sometimes they're they're burning down
buildings and being cynical, but I I think you can get to the real answers and I think you just have to really go fight and look for them. the mindset of knowing it's out there and the mindset of deciding you're going
to actually put in the work. It's work. It's work on your end to go find the answers and the places and go on interviews. Even if you don't get a word of mouth recommendation, if you go on interviews trusting your intuition and
asking challenging questions when you're the interviewee. Asking real questions, when you're inter Like if you interview at VaynerMedia, you can go on LinkedIn and DM people that work here and message like 50 people and be like, "Yo, is Gary
Vee's [ __ ] real or not?" And if you get like 48 people be like, [ __ ] awesome here." Like you're going to be like, "Oh [ __ ] it's awesome." And Make sense? Yeah, it's
brother. More networking, more interviewing, more looking for it. But like less talking about looking for it, dwelling on it, hoping for it, less thinking and more doing.
