[00:02] repent. You're such and such a person." But this man did one thing that made God forgive him all the sins he had committed. "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" is a phrase we say when we start anything in our lives, when we eat, when we drink, when we begin
[00:18] anything in the world. Even when we read any chapter of the Quran, we begin with "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful." But have you ever tried saying "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" after committing any sin? I know you're surprised by this now, but listen to me until the end. There's a story you might have heard
[00:32] before, but this story is very strange. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told us this story Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, told us this story about a man who lived long ago. This man killed 99 people. He was, to say the least, a bloodthirsty person. He killed 99 people. Anyway, at some point, he
[00:47] decided to repent. The bell of repentance rang in his heart, and he said, "What am I?"  I'm going to try to repent to God. Of course, when I ask you now, is this person eligible for repentance or not? Of course not. I mean, this person killed 99 people. What happened was that this person went to a
[01:02] religious man in the village where he lived and told him, "I killed 99 people. Can I repent?" The man, upon hearing this, was very surprised and told him, "It's impossible for you to repent. You're such and such a person." And then what did he say? He gave him a lot of
[01:17] harsh words, saying that he was someone for whom repentance was useless and that nothing he ever did would ever be right. So, in repentance was useless and that nothing he ever did would ever be right. So, in his anger, what did he do? He killed this man. Instead of killing 99, he killed 100. This person is beyond
[01:31] comprehension. We're talking about someone completely out of it. So, the important thing is that this person, despite what he did, still had the call for repentance in his heart. I want  He repented from within, he wanted to repent, so he started asking, " Where should I go? What should I do?" They told him, "There is a righteous person,
[01:45] but this man is in another village, so you can go to him and ask him about this matter." So he went to this person and said to him, "I killed 100 people. Can I repent?" Then the sheikh said to him one sentence, "What is preventing you from repenting? What is between you and repentance?"  There's nothing to it,
[02:00] but this righteous man told him that in order to repent, he needed to go to another land, a righteous land where he could truly repent, because the land he was in was a land of corruption. So he had to gather his belongings and go to this righteous land. The man was very pleased with what he was told, so he gathered
[02:14] his things and set off to repent. While he was on his way, about halfway there, he died. And here's where the big disagreement happened. When this man died, a disagreement arose between the angels. The angels of punishment said that this man must go to Hell because he had killed 100
[02:27] people. But the angels of mercy said, "No, this man was on the path to repentance, and God is Forgiving and Merciful." And here God's mercy is revealed. He did the opposite of what you might imagine. Since this man was on the path to repentance, He ordered that all his sins be forgiven and that he be admitted to Paradise, simply because
[02:42] he was on the path to repentance, not because he had already repented. That's why I'm telling you this story.  It might actually be old, and I've heard it a million times before, but I'm saying it to show you God's mercy. God Almighty is so merciful. Most of us young people commit many sins, some
[02:56] very serious, and some sins done in secret, between you and yourself. Of course, you understand me on this point. You're certain that because of this sin, and because you hate it, God Almighty is angry with you and won't accept your repentance, or even the repentance of others like you.
[03:09] When we fall into this trap, set for us by Satan, we remain in a cycle of self-flagellation, repeating the sin many times for one of two reasons: either we're not satisfied with ourselves, or we believe that God Almighty won't accept
[03:23] our repentance. I don't think any of our sins could be greater than the sin of the man who killed 100 people. Can you imagine what that man went through?  It's a phase, but this man did one thing that made God forgive him for all the sins he committed, and that was taking a step towards repentance. God isn't angry with
[03:39] you for the mistakes you made, even if it was just an hour ago, because some of those mistakes might have been due to poor upbringing, for example, when you were young. But God wants you to repent as soon as you realize and understand your mistake, even if you accidentally fall into that same mistake again. By God,
[03:52] accidentally fall into that same mistake again. By God, God is more merciful, greater, and more generous than to see you take one step towards Him and not take 1000 steps towards you in return. We all agree that God Almighty doesn't do anything in vain. The phrase "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" is repeated 114 times in the Quran, so
[04:06] I believe that's not a coincidence. All you have to do now is take a step, even a small one, and take a step, even a small one, and repent to God, because He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
