## Summary

This video introduces Inochi2D, an open-source alternative to Live2D for creating and rigging 2D Vtuber models. It explains the two main programs, Inochi Creator and Inochi Session, and their pricing models, while noting that Inochi2D is a work in progress and not compatible with Live2D file formats.

## Transcript

Welcome to the Emochi 2D crash course.
If you cannot use Live2D or you heard
whispers about an alternative out there
and want to learn more, then this course
is for you.
The focus of this course will be on how
to use the program rather than how to
make a model from start to finish.
The goal is to create an understanding
of the basics, which will then allow you
to follow along with your favorite
Live2D tutorials and make your Vtubing
dreams come true.
So, what exactly is Emochi 2D?
Well, it's open-source software that
consists of two programs.
First is Emochi Creator, which allows
you to not only rig your model,
but also to create animations.
Second is Emochi Session, which allows
you to use tracking software to bring
your model to life and jump straight
into Vtubing.
You can download both programs either
through the official website or through
itch.io.
For Emochi Creator, you have two
options. You can get the evaluation
version, which is free with no time
limit, or the paid version, which is
currently set to a one-time fee of $40.
The only difference between the two is
the evaluation version has a 10-second
screen on startup encouraging you to
support the project. No other
limitations, no restrictions.
Emochi Session, on the other hand, is
completely free.
For this course, I'll be using the free
evaluation version of Emochi Creator.
Now, while all of this sounds like a
dream come true, there are two things I
need you to know before moving forward.
First and foremost, Emochi 2D is a work
in progress, but is functional for
Vtubing. Second, Emochi 2D is not
compatible with Live2D as they use
different file formats.
Okay, let's end it here.
Please download the programs and I will
see you in the next video.
