# Breaking down Bitcoin's Technicals

> Source: [Breaking down Bitcoin's Technicals](https://youtube.com/watch?v=l0uH1KC-PvA)

## Summary

The video analyzes Bitcoin's technical chart, focusing on a multi-year uptrend line that has acted as resistance since 2021. The presenter explains that Bitcoin is currently attempting to confirm a breakout above this line, which could turn it into support and drive prices toward $102,000.

### Key Points

- **Confirming a breakout** [00:00] — Bitcoin is working on confirming a breakout of a longer-term uptrend line that has been resistance since 2021.
- **Historical peaks** [00:18] — The trend line has marked peaks in 2021, 2022, 2014, and May of the current year, with the May peak being a localized rejection.
- **Line becomes support** [00:50] — After falling below the line, it became a rejection point in May. Now it may prove to be new support for Bitcoin.
- **Potential test of support** [01:04] — Bitcoin could test this support in the coming days, which would be very bullish if it holds.
- **Scenario for a pullback** [01:20] — Fear over no Iran deal, earnings season, or other news could push Bitcoin to around $82,000 before bouncing off the line.
- **Confirmation drives to $102K** [01:36] — If Bitcoin bounces off the line without breaking below it, the breakout confirmation could drive prices to the legendary $102,000 level.

### Conclusion

The key takeaway is that Bitcoin's breakout above a five-year resistance line, if confirmed by a successful retest, could signal a move toward $102,000. The presenter emphasizes the importance of holding above the trend line during any pullback.

## Transcript

Let's look at the technicals for what's going on with Bitcoin. So on a TA basis, if you will, we are working on confirming our breakout of a longer term uptrend line that has been a resistance
line. Now, I know it looks like there are a lot of lines here, but if you look all the way back to where this line started in 2021, we had a peak of Bitcoin here in 2021. We had another peak over here in 2022. We had another peak right here in 2014, another peak more recently in May,
and then now we're kind of popping out again. Now, I suppose this May peak was more of a localized rejection rather than a peak, I should say. But historically, we had these three peaks here, and then obviously we fell below that. Then in May, that line, this sort of uptrend line,
became a rejection point. Now we might prove that it is a new support for Bitcoin. This is where we sit right here. This is that rejection of that longer term trend line. Here is where we might
be testing support within the coming days on Bitcoin, which actually would be very bullish for Bitcoin. And there's a practical way this could play out, for example, and you know, this is just an example of how this could play out. You could have fear that there's no Iran deal over the
next week, you know, maybe the next two weeks, we don't hear anything. People get nervous. We go into earnings season. Bitcoin goes back to about $82,000. Then maybe we get in a wrong deal or who knows whatever happens. Earnings are great. Who knows whatever it is. As long as we don't go much
past this or ideally not past this at all, we bounce off of this line on a technical basis, confirming this breakout here on this line that has been here for five years, confirming this
breakout, in my opinion, drives us back to the legendary 102,000 line for Bitcoin and potentially up from there.
