[00:01] that would change the direction of his life? Time is your biggest friend and your biggest television. Have the courage to believe in yourself and You know, if you break 20 then it is called two aunties. You will be afraid of two aunties. [00:16] Consider Manifestation as a Word? In the same way I used to run after investors. It is really a large sum that who will give one crore? The university I ultimately went to. I said, now look it's five. Was a function of total manifestation? And that [00:28] actually happened 10 years later. He said, Sir, it has become Rs 10 crore per month. You are missing the board. I agree. I agree. See [00:41] [Music] I do Emotional Experience and Environment. Passion First and Profit I very strongly believe [music] that you shouldn't try to make money at 20. [00:55] If you can't find passion, chase the money. If you are not getting money then follow your passion. There was a belief that you always held but it was life changed for you. In India we do not challenge authority. [01:09] So this was the belief that whatever the authority says is right. And I think [music] in your 20s if there's one thing your people who are watching can do that your people who are watching can do that I didn't do in my 20s. [01:21] This time of 20 is the golden period when everyone dreams. But life is spent in understanding how to achieve those dreams. And what remains afterward ? Regret, I wish someone had guided me and told me at the right time. [01:38] And that's what I was trying to do with this podcast when I got the opportunity to sit down with the Sharks to when I got the opportunity to sit down with the Sharks to eliminate the regrets in your life. I can give you a blueprint. I asked him clearly that if your 20 year old [01:51] version was sitting in front of you, what would be the top advice you would like to give him? I asked whether I should follow passion or follow money at 20. I learned what is that manifestation secret which turned an average student into India's top investor, a [02:06] failed startup into India's leading cosmetic company and a low paying employee into since these are the Sharks who have just heard so many pitches for Season 5, I asked them which sectors they think will grow in India in 2026? It was a [02:21] very insightful and fun discussion which had knowledge, depth and humour and once or twice such a debate started that I felt as if I was an anchor of a news channel. But one thing I can definitely say is that [02:37] set the narrative and tell the agenda. So, the last time we did a podcast, it was like, if someone is in their 20s, Amazing response but when I observed the comments, the questions were wealth, we [02:53] understood. But what is behind building wealth ? The mindset you need, the belief you need, Right? So again the same thought that 20 people have to be helped. That's my audience and I want your help to help them. I want you to [03:07] visualize a very serious visualize answer, it could be funny, it could be deep, but imagination is varied, I want to imagine 22 year old Anupam and Vineeta and Aman in front of you right and what is that [03:23] one advice, what is that one advice that you would like to give him which can change the direction of his life, you would like to give him which can change the direction of his life, brother, what are you doing in your life, I can [03:38] understand it now, give some direction like speed. Right? Speed velocity is what you need in we want to do something big then the better the take you there. What is velocity? If I remember correctly, [03:53] velocity is speed in a direction. We are correct, you can run fast but you can also run at one place on the treadmill, you are not reaching and if you run fast in the wrong direction then it takes more time to come back so I [04:08] think at that point I would have said that time is your biggest friend and your biggest enemy, figure out your direction quickly and then run with as much speed as you have, that is the way [04:25] to create disruptive wealth in quick time very well said that you have speed at that age but if the direction is wrong then you will keep regretting and you keep running in the same place [04:37] amazing amazing 22 year old Vineeta in front I am a runner so I run a lot on the treadmill [laughs] not again treadmill running [laughs] not again treadmill running because there is a lot of growth potential from that too but I [04:50] because there is a lot of growth potential from that too but I think my 22 year old version did not think my 22 year old version did not believe in herself enough. So I would and this is very common especially women not to gender it. What will people say, the expectations of the family members, that [05:04] belief in it goes down. So if I were to tell my down. So if I were to tell my 22 year old self I would say I have the curse to believe in yourself and believe in your gut and it's gonna take you places. [05:20] What are you saying at Don't Como or your other co-founders ? What are investors saying? What are the family members saying? What are the neighbors saying? Don't get carried away by his pressure. Just Awesome awesome. What are the destinations? What is the way? If you have courage then what is the distance? [05:35] Nice. Dude, when I tell my 22 year old self, it's same. I don't want to grow up only. So I would say that guys you know find [05:49] you know people always say follow your passion. I tell everyone that it is not necessary that everyone knows about passion. I say go find your passion first and that is the right time to find your passion because in life long I found out about it very late. [06:03] What I like. But if someone understands it quickly, then it is a very good time to understand his passion and then pursue it. So now is the time to explore that. Explore it. Go in all directions, go into finance, go into consulting, [06:17] go into sales, go into marketing, go into tech, find what you like. Because going forward, you can go a long way in following it. And secondly I want to say that what is 20, 20 is one [06:30] you know if you break 20 then it is called two aunties. Right? So I say don't be afraid of those two aunties. Right? And those aunties will always come and ask, what are you doing with your life? Don't be afraid of them. And believe in yourself and forget those 20s [06:45] and enjoy your 20s. Lovely. So passion, belief and direction inu speed. Let us come to belief because this is where most of the problems arise. Right? That now direction will come only then, speed will come only then, passion will also be found only if the [06:59] belief is set right. A belief that you always held but was harming you when you broke it and life changed for you. I will tell you a story. Right? When I went to the US to study, [07:15] just like Vineeta was saying, I had less confidence in myself. I had already tried it since my teenage years. I used to try businesses and I kept feeling that I don't understand anything. [07:28] I went there with a condition of U India. On the first day when I was sitting in the class, one of my students raised his hand and said, the teacher was explaining something about strategy and he said, Robert, I don't agree with you, oh father. [07:44] He called the teacher by the name Robert and he said, I don't agree with you. The teacher actually responded saying, why can't you tell the class and encouraged that point of view. And it was a [07:56] very good debate. Everyone walked away learning a lot, but what I learned was every class I said, I don't agree with you round because it was fun because in India we are not able to challenge the authority. So this was the belief that whatever the authority says is [08:10] right. Call it conditioning, whatever it was, call it experiential conditioning, I understood it after going there. That's not necessarily true. There can be many different ways to find a solution to a problem. And you [08:27] know, only debate and time will tell. Which is the right one? So your conviction, your belief is and it may be an agent, so my belief changed because of an incident and that was quite [08:39] and that is a proper grounded belief, once it changes then the foundation can change completely, your opinion, value right, they say that to change the belief, there are three things right - emotion, experience and environment, so you changed the environment due to which [08:53] your experience changed and the emotion changed, let me note down, also sit down, you do the real thing, [09:08] Vinita, so I think in my case, both my parents are PhD doctors and my father, like [09:21] growing up, I have like grown in a science family where my father always believed that your work will speak for itself. And I remember this conversation months ago when I was 12 years old, I had with my dad because he was doing some [09:35] why don't you apply for the Nobel Prize and I remember he said that you know there is a lot of lobbying and politics in all these things, I would rather let my work speak for itself and I remember that living as a value entity, in turn, I think 37-38 I was [09:50] fundamentally a person who was not on social media, social media, I was not able to sell that one big ambition vision in investor pitches. [10:03] talked about what I had done so far. We have done this. We have this We have done this. We have this consumer feedback. And this entire consumer feedback. And this entire ability to really paint a picture of what I can do. [10:17] Sell Myself. I used to think Makes Me Look Not Humble and Boastful. And I learned this value very late in my life that you know there is no pride in underestimating and [10:35] underselling yourself. You have to own what you have created and you have to be your biggest champion out there whether it's on social media or in front of [10:47] investors or in front of employers because if you are not your own champion nobody else will be While being authentic. While being authentic and that you can do that, there is a combination of being your own champion and being humble and that right balance you have to find rather than [11:01] going on one extreme and the other extreme. This is very important because especially from the angle of the 20s, we are not speaking ill of others as much as we are criticizing yourself and keep giving yourself confidence. So it is better if this [11:15] advice gets implemented that friend I have to be humble, I have to be authentic but I have to say that my story, my words should come out, so very different friend, I my words should come out, so very different friend, I [11:31] I will give you a simple example, everyone was doing CA, so I also thought that I should also become CA, then the other one also went to [11:45] sub consulting school, so everyone is going into consulting. I also have to go. So it started happening that you started knowing a little bit about what others were doing and one of the things was that you should not miss this thing. Now that belief system has gradually [11:59] ended. Now I have that Jomo right as you say the Joy of Missing Out is more than Homo. So I think that I have changed and now I know for the last few years I have been doing what I want to do. And whoever says anything, [12:14] the best version of yourself and I think I improve myself on where I am other than looking at somebody else and I don't normally learn from other people, I normally look at myself and try to better myself always. You had a post on Lindin, in that you had [12:28] written at the end, manifest like a baba, work like a beast and party like Anil work like a beast and party like Anil [laughs] wise baba of Sak Tank [laughs] so you all believe in manifestation, [12:45] mine, I did not ever consider manifestation as a word as I reflect back on my life, so a lot of it has been just like a lot of things like I tell you this [13:00] lot of things like I tell you this in the US, it's so weird, but the university I went to ultimately was a function of total manifestation. There was no chance I was such a bad student. I did not pay attention to studies. At some [13:14] point I was completely disconnected there was no chance I was getting in and that's how I chose that no chance I was getting in and that's how I chose that manifestation I went there for a trip I ended up on that campus some how this word [13:26] chest not hill was always on my mind it there is no way to explain it there was no logic like people generally how they sit and decide five colleges then this was pure simple out and out [13:40] manifestation aaj ki date me bhi kuch problem hoti hai and you know Rohit my colleagues and friends only will tell you boss in any situation if I suddenly need something it appears out [13:53] think positive thinking and manifestation I think when I left my job for the first time at the age of 23 I attempted to start a women's lodging company and [14:06] start a women's lodging company and because I had a strong desire that I would serve the Indian consumer Let me create something in the ecosystem. But I remember pitching to some 40-50 investors and everyone said that this would cost at least ₹1 crore. Ek Crore was [14:23] at that time in 2007 really a large sum that who will give ₹1 crore to a really a large sum that who will give ₹1 crore to a like engineer and MBA just fresher with like engineer and MBA just fresher with no family with business background [14:36] ? And that I realized that in my life consumer B to C business because it always requires funding. That will not be possible. And I started some other B2B company tech, like wandering around here and there and doing e-commerce, [14:52] finally a beauty brand came out from somewhere. And when I look back I think I had a very strong conviction that I had to create a consumer brand for women. And that actually happened 10 years later. But probably everything was written and it was meant [15:09] 10 years later. But probably everything was written and it was meant to be and now I use my manifestation just for the health and happiness of my children, my family and friends because I think the most important thing in life is that if I manifest something after 40 years, it will be the [15:24] health of my family and all my friends because I do of my family and all my friends because I do n't think there is anything more important than that which is completely outside of our control like [15:46] desires but those who are in bad health have only one desire to become healthier and Harvard has done a longitudinal study they track people for 80 years, the same people longitudinal study they track people for 80 years, the same people [16:00] multiple times that companionship and strong relationships are the biggest correlation to your health and happiness and longevity it can add anywhere [16:12] to your health and happiness and longevity it can add anywhere from five to 20 years this is real data the happiness study I think the happiness study I think and I think If there's one thing you can do at 20 that your [16:25] people who are watching can do that I didn't do at 20 is spending time with my parents because I mean I don't want to get him emotional on this but I mean I realize that I mean at 20 I think you have a mean God. And after 10 years I realize that [16:40] Sara, who are everything we are because of our parents, and I think like this is one thing I learned from my husband that it is [17:00] Because that's the one thing we will be able to create everything. But that is the only depreciating asset of all our lives which we will never be able to recreate which is where in 20 you have the maximum opportunity to have very very very good great [17:18] manifestation for you my friend what does he say Shahrukh Khan did not say just one thing if you want something then the whole universe tries to get it to you. talking about Priya? No, be it Priya or anything else, I think you know I have been, [17:35] like, let me give a simple example that sometimes you need things, so if you want them, then run after them, I mean, don't leave it on fate all the time, if I give you the [17:50] example of Priya, as she said, I remembered that Priya also rejected me many times, four times, so I ran after her and I got her right, and then we are living happily ever after, right, in the same way, I used to run after investors, [18:05] and one of my investors was Kawal, I became attached to him, I ran after Kawal a lot, and I have a note in Lindin, I used to [18:17] write to him, give me money, he used to say no, I used to say see, my business has reached 1 crore, he used to say no, I said now look, it has reached 5, no, not in 5, we will talk later, then I said sir, it has reached 10 crore per month, you Are missing the boat, by doing this [18:30] they lagged behind a bit and today they also tell the story that friend Aman lagged behind as much and by lagging behind, today he also benefited as much as he could and we also got the benefit, I think it is good to manifest, yes for sure and I have always believed that that might work [18:46] but also work hard towards what you want to do, don't leave it manifestation that will happen but you will have to do something to get what you want to do, right, [18:59] Priya used to call me Aman you know she used to call me Manny and Manny used to [laughs] so maybe more will come or manifestation is real it happens but also [19:15] work towards me man how did I forget I will give you one very relevant example given where we are shorting India before few years before a friend of mine [19:29] from London sent me some tapes for drags done and then he sent US tapes also sharp I felt man this show should be in India sharp I felt man this show should be in India so I tried to find out [19:45] about the rights but then I found out that rany was city on those rights forget it that rany was city on those rights forget it man whatever it is. But after that, two years man whatever it is. But after that, two years of Shark Tank knock-off shows were made. [20:00] because I used to invest in startups. He wanted to invest in me, he said sorry to be a judge on he said sorry to be a judge on the show they called me and I always refused [20:13] because I was a sharp time in India, I will come to India and they will call me and I will be a sharp. I did not want to spoil my chances. But I think some people are conscious manifestors who practice visualization and affirmation, but some people are [20:27] unconscious manifestors. Like you said, ultimately you reach there, You might be the way, yes you do get lost. Doesn't come. I think there is a black box, keep putting your manifestation in it and keep working hard. [20:40] Then what comes out is very different. There was passion. So quick question passion first and profit first for 20 year olds. A good point, good question [laughs] I definitely don't mean I am just saying [20:57] otherwise people will get carried away and think that the company has to be profitable, that's what I agree with, I am putting that side, I am tom about just money in our 20s. I strongly believe that you should not try to make money in your 20s because you should do anything which is going to give [21:12] that you should not try to make money in your 20s because you should do anything which is going to give you the you the kind of stepping stone and the trampoline for your long term careers of six decades, six decades. Nowadays, the [21:26] careers of six decades, six decades. Nowadays, the only if you are not chasing money and designation. You should not hurry in your 20s and designation. You should not hurry in your 20s and I think most people in their 20s do [21:41] not even understand their passion and there is no need to worry about it because passion itself evolves. It is not that people are born. I dreamt I would make lipstick. Right? For me, the e-commerce company did not succeed after facing a lot of setbacks here and there. So sugar came out of it. [21:55] e-commerce company did not succeed after facing a lot of setbacks here and there. So sugar came out of it. I had no idea that this would be my passion building consumer businesses for instance. building consumer businesses for instance. And that happens, but the most important thing is to be [22:11] And that happens, but the most important thing is to be fascinated about and curious and learn. So fascinated about and curious and learn. So go somewhere where you find someone who can learn a lot from you. Find someone who can teach you and from whom you [22:24] can learn a lot. Go somewhere where you feel the future is being created. So where will you get a front row seat to see where the world is going in the next 10 years, 20 years. [22:39] I think run. If you can't find passion, chase the money. If you are not getting money for your passion then run after it. It is your choice what you want to do. Frankly I don't say anybody is wrong. If you are not able to find your passion then do not [22:52] waste time in searching for it. If you are getting an opportunity to make money somewhere, then make it getting a company like many of my employees were young employees. Initially we gave them e-shops and I will give you an example. There was a man named Saurabh who [23:06] came on the show last week. Gave him an e-shop. Make your money. I said do it for three-four years. Then follow your passion. He made a lot of money for three-four years. Made ₹4 crore. Then after that he also went to study. He is also opening some business. [23:19] So it's his wish. I would say each one to their own. I mean, my personal view is that if someone is getting a chance to he says no, no, I will follow my passion. I would tell you fool to make money. If you are getting it then you may or may I would tell you fool to make money. If you are getting it then you may or may [23:34] brother, make money. Someone else is making it, enter into his dream and make it a little distance with his money. Where's Your Vote? I even wrote about it recently in That [23:47] I even wrote about it recently in That You Know to the Days Find Your Passion Has my passion. I also tell my nephews and family members to sit there. He says I am looking for that. That idea will come. He [24:02] I am looking for that. That idea will come. He said, it doesn't happen like this brother. said, it doesn't happen like this brother. Motion Leads to Passion. And that morning motion does Motion Leads to Passion. And that morning motion does not mean that you have to keep moving forward in life. [24:14] Right? You will take 10-15 wrong turns and then maybe you will stumble upon your passion. Some People Find Their Passion in Their 20s. Sachin Tendulkar got it in six years. You know Tiger Woods got it at the age of four. Some people do not get it for 50 years. [24:29] So That You Know Chess Blind Chess Towards Passion Can Hurt You A Lot. Do something productive. Hum Hum [24:43] transactional word do something productive and learn while you are doing it but keep moving motion will bring you to your pitch I have to add sorry yes Aman's [24:56] point here because my point here is very strong few years people will live up to 100-120 years so that the notion that used to be na paise bana lo phir [25:10] enjoy karna life and in our generation everybody grew up with that notion that you know that ho there was a term called fir financially independent retire early those are all of those concepts are not absolutely relevant because in life you will never have enough [25:22] in life you will never have enough money to enjoy and that whole so earlier money to enjoy and that whole so earlier people used to think front load money and then enjoyment and living and growing and doing following your passion do in your like 50 [25:36] years ke baad that concept Ekisted jab hum 70 saal pe mar jaate the because you had a 70 saal pe mar jaate the because you had a finite time frame. Now There Are People Who Are My Father 75 He still does research in his lab for 16 [25:50] going. I feel that front load your life which is your feel that front load your life which is your dream and go in that direction and then automatically you will enjoy the journey and your ability to stay the course for those [26:07] your ability to stay the course for those 60-70 years and money always follows money ko jitna woh jaise dil chahta hai na sand ko catch ki trynna haath se girti hai waise hi money hai. If you chase money girti hai waise hi money hai. If you chase money you don't get money. If you like growth as a [26:21] person, money eventually comes but you need that patience by product as a product [laughs] many people do not get passion, I agree and I am not saying that I am telling you to learn from somewhere and I am saying that it is great [26:35] to work in a company which is a startup because not only you are making some money, you are getting what is going to become in the future, let me on the same page that if someone is getting passion then run after the passion, then money will come. [26:48] But if someone is getting money then do not forcibly develop passion and run after it. When you get money, take it. Then you can also follow your passion. Because many situations are different. Money Makes It Very Difficult to Later on Go [27:00] I Tell You One More Thing Every But Every Situation To Know That Money. Everyone's situation is different. It is not necessary for him to work at home, it is necessary for him because he needs money now and he needs more money for his passion. But if he [27:13] learns in the beginning that he has to give money to his family, what is his situation, then he can also enjoy a little bit, if he gets a little bit of money then life gets settled, you are talking about a world where it is abundant and everybody can choose to follow their [27:27] passion, right now especially in our country if you look at it then people do not have money to eat, why would they follow their passion, they have to eat at home, so individually we are all saying the same line, food, individually we all you know are probably [27:40] yes and if I mean you know if your parents are dependent on you and you have taken a day to study then all of those questions have to be looked at different. and there is one more thing, let's do a little more with this line, let's add hot masala to it. [27:56] This line says that money cannot be made by running after it. This is wrong. Let me tell you, I studied in the US. So, I had many students who were very clear in their life that I want to become a consultant by doing this because that's where the [28:11] most money is made and in investment banks, you have to work 70-80 hours a week, but they used to make a lot of money. One, two, three people came in at 40 and they did that. You can't [28:23] three people came in at 40 and they did that. You can't ask them at 40. Happy, earned a lot of money. Those years have earned a lot of money. Are they happy or question, but in the case of [28:38] someone who wants to earn money, it's his wish. Someone has a passion, it's his wish. [laughs] He went to make money, his passion is not, but his passion is to make money. So that's it. Now run after profit, they start and start, and so many of [28:52] you did that. In the middle, Vinita was talking about daily self-talk. When we were talking about the validation trap, " Daily I remind myself to make sure I'm getting out of it." Is there any daily ritual of yours that keeps this? You are going on which you can't miss some such [29:06] ritual everyday I have a lot of it, she is running away from the world, she is running away from everyone [laughs] she is running away from everyone every year but still I am sitting here after five years, I am [29:21] reached somewhere [laughs] velocity is equal to speed into direction you have taken the wrong direction like full like life keeps coming in circles but yes so and I think that is a good time to meditate. I [29:35] think there is no science of running in it. It's just about that one, you do n't have the device. I think it's different to not let you know which device is controlling us like we control the phone but the phone controlling us is a real problem. [29:50] phone controlling us is a real problem. And so in everyone's life, that one or two hours of like And so in everyone's life, that one or two hours of like not at all watching your episodes and not feeling well and you know really being at one with your thoughts is impossible [30:04] or after finishing the entire season five try that and that I think little bit of that whole pause your anything can happen weather you workout you run you meditate do [30:17] yoga or just you keep the phone and go for a walk outside the house. I think that is one ritual for me. It has really kept me sane because the journey of entrepreneurship is like any other career. Actually there are a lot of ups and downs. And in those ups [30:33] and downs, it is really important to kind of ground yourself and have this ritual that keeps you going. And for me that's why. [30:45] on social media, I get 20 questions. Right? We are all in that zone. But those in their 20s decide whether to develop the habit now or in the future. What would be your take? So again, in this our I am sure will be the opposite. [laughter] [31:00] I [laughter] no. I [laughter] no. I know and why. So since childhood I have I know and why. So since childhood I have [31:14] health is wealth. Wealth is wealth, and health is wealth was what I grew up thinking about. wealth, and health is wealth was what I grew up thinking about. And I believe that, just like a marathoner, anything is a thing. You think, now [31:28] in this phase of life, I will chase wealth, now in this phase, I will chase health. Then it is very difficult to change your personality, but if you decide that I am a healthy person, any 21- year-old can decide that this is who I am. Then you can [31:43] year-old can decide that this is who I am. Then you can your habit, and then that becomes your lifestyle, and then you are not fighting anything. I think that if you eat healthy food and workout since childhood, then the time [31:58] eat healthy food and workout since childhood, then the time spent in those battles—that, you know, the Maggi packet is staring at me and I am not touching it—all that time is wasted because after a few years, [32:11] that becomes your lifestyle. And I am a very strong believer. That you know, just like in marathons, you pest yourself in careers, it's also good to pest yourself, which is that, don't keep your life on hold, don't say that, I will get [32:25] my health back, my life back, and my time with my family at this point, once I get there, because you never know, you go leave that wrong, my time with my family at this point, once I get there, because you never know, you go leave that wrong, day one, and now for the counter, I have a very different view, very [32:38] five different, eat butter chicken, I'm cool, I didn't eat anything healthy, till now I eat very little, healthy, and I started playing pickle in school, right? Let me [32:52] his name was Pikil, so he thought he would get pickle, in school, I will use it. [laughs] Finally, you cracked a joke for five years, so earlier I used to play a lot of cricket in the streets, okay, then after that I started focusing on [33:07] studies. And you know, at that time I did not play any sports for many years regarding work and my life. Then I started badminton. Played badminton a lot for two-three years. Then I left badminton also. Didn't do anything for five or six years. And [33:22] then I picked up a game of Paddle again now and I'm having a lot of fun. I've been playing padel a lot for the past two years now. So my view is always a little different. I used to get happiness from butter chicken. So if I was very stressed, I used to [33:35] that eating it was a stress buster for me. Even today, when I get stressed a lot, I say, leave it, I go home and order from Gulati or Darganj. The I go home and order from Gulati or Darganj. The [33:48] food arrives before I reach home and I eat. I do eat opium. If you feel less then eat food. No, sorry, I don't know anything else. [laughs] I am saying the right thing, but you know again the same point that I have lived an undisciplined way of life. I have [34:03] not had much discipline and I have been a bit erratic and a bit crazy in my life. I mean, I did not have any discipline, I don't have it even today. And if you ask one thing which is my habit throughout the day, it is that [34:17] I watch reels for an hour every day and I like it very much. Even if I don't run away. Whether I watch Reels for an hour, whether I run or not, whether I play [laughs] no, I definitely watch Reels. I enjoy it for an hour. I am enjoying that right now. [34:30] Reels is your meditation. It is my I am actually Priya. Meaning what happened? Why are you laughing? When I show it to her, she says what's there to laugh about in this, I get it like that, but I mean, for me, my meditation is that [34:43] I spend an hour watching movies, they are such that I do n't think about it, it's going on, it's going on, I'm enjoying it, I'm feeling peaceful, and then until Priya says, hey, go to sleep, the light is coming too much, then she says, come on, I'll switch it off now, it's getting late, but before [34:57] coming too much, then she says, come on, I'll switch it off now, it's getting late, but before thank you [laughs] for my contribution, I don't, I may not play for months, I have not gone idle for the last three-four months now, but I have seen Reels everywhere, [35:09] months now, but I have seen Reels everywhere, Yes, friend, I have, friend, I have, I have a very [35:23] hyperactive mind and a lot of energy, so I like a lot of movement. So I get up. I used to do my mobility yoga whatever kick boxing now I had a couple of boxing now I had a couple of injuries so I have to get it out. So from that it [35:36] kind of centers me for the day. Earlier I used to be very interdisciplinary, all my life in terms of food. I was still okay but getting up, sleeping, partying at night okay but getting up, sleeping, partying at night , going anywhere, anything. So but now [35:52] I am trying to be more disciplined, sleep and wake up at the same time, trying to imbibe that in me, I still have kids, so you know hopefully they will pick up, really, but that is what [36:04] I just need to engage in movements, then I go for a swing in the evening if I have time, and I go to the gym and I play terrace sometimes, but I like to engage in activity, [36:16] you talked about sharp tank India in manifestation, so what is different? ? AI is coming. [laughter] AI is coming out very strongly. There's a lot more AI coming. AI, [36:30] Or lots of pictures around AI. There are lots of pictures and lots of people who used AI for no reason also. There is no need but there is good that a movement has begun in the country and there is [36:44] happening a lot on a. AI has a lot of pitches and again they have gone deeper. I think children are becoming very smart. Even 13-14 year old children are becoming very smart [36:56] and they are also understanding how to start companies. In fact, there is an entrepreneur who is 13 years old and something, right, was phenomenal, but you know, coming to Shark Tank India season five, I think quite a [37:11] from season one. In season one, all of us innocent founders, innocent means not innocent anymore, no, now I mean innocence was a [37:24] badass from the beginning, he is talking about us [laughs], innocence, right, it is not like we jumped into any success story, we came taking a big risk, so we will definitely remain authentic, but I think we actually got to [37:43] founder level went up quite a bit, and then season three we saw, I think, the most amount season three we saw, I think, the most amount of money invested in a season, right, and then valuations etc. started going crazy in season four. This time what we have seen I think [37:59] season five is sort of to me at least the year of maturity of sharp tank India were founders real founders building businesses from India for the world. I have never heard this before. [38:11] Earlier it was always said Amazon for India, Netflix for for the world with real numbers. So now understand that profitability is an issue even outside. So the economics are very good this time. The [38:25] Founders That Are Coming and They Have Nailed Down Differentiation. So whatever it takes to build businesses, I think that's very strong. So you get to see that. Of course what people love is some of the drama which is some of our shark [38:40] fights which is the chemistry seen here. That's another level two. So I think it is all and all an amazing entertainment. Everything will be leveled. The Sharks, the founders, the pitches, the sourcing team at Sony, the number of pictures they are bringing [38:55] Nice. Or I Heard Somewhere If Or I Heard Somewhere If Any TV Show. Hmm Any TV Show. Hmm get to season four and five give the single [39:09] digit TV show get to season four and five and if you get there then you are not going anyway for the next 10 15 years so hopefully that's what this season is or and I mean we used to say that if you want to become an entrepreneur if you are a student then [39:23] watch shark tank but as entrepreneurs you this year I would say running any business you must watch shark tank because it is the level of innovation the level of innovation and frugality. What can be done with less money [39:38] ? Where the power of India is like lot of people having internet access. 1 billion people are going to get internet access within the next 12 months. And the whole revolution around quick commerce. There is a lot to learn from the [39:54] big businesses that are being built on that basis with less money. Even for like even if learn a lot from Sharp. I agree 100% so yes 2026 are there opportunities for people? What are you looking at? [40:11] For Founders Yes For Founders and again 20 people. In which direction can you build yourself ? Or what areas do you see in 2026? Which will be hot areas. Hot areas are the healthiest. I think the level of awareness that is there. [40:28] So not just fitness but also like health care devices. Meaning this time on Shark Tank Season 5, the theme was Made in India for the World which was said by Anupam. It has so many gadgets and health care devices. Looking at problems because in India you have [40:43] a population advantage where trials and experiments of many things can be done on large number of people. And I think we had not utilized it yet. Because for some reasons and the other, it used to take many years to conduct clinical trials in India, [40:58] which used to be done within 12 months outside. But nowadays companies using more resources are figuring out ways to do it in a shorter time. So I [41:10] out ways to do it in a shorter time. So I think definitely a health theme and a consumption theme. These two themes will be big themes for India not just for 2026 but for the next 10 years. Like I said, 60 crore people are going to be on social media. So not just [41:26] great for creators but also for brands that are getting enabled through this. brands that are getting enabled through this. Earlier, consumption was dependent only on the top 5% people of India. Today, brands are being created for the things they talk about like India Two and India Three. [41:40] And if you look at Sharp Tank Season Five, people have created companies worth Rs 100 crore without having more than 10% of their business coming from metros. This 10% of their business coming from metros. This [41:53] is a 20% contributor of e-commerce, and tier two is also moving into tier three, so I think these will be the biggest themes. Apart from health, themes. Apart from health, [42:07] but apart from health, I think there is, there is everything. I'm just telling you, start anything in everything, start quickly, and there is, you know, if you have it in you, if you have the... I simply always tell everyone that Lens Card was [42:22] n't the first eyeglass shop, Boat was n't the first headphone store, and even our new n't the first headphone store, and even our new shark, Mint, wasn't the first beauty talked about sugar. No, I've talked about sugar so many times [42:37] [laughs]. And even if we weren't the first, our execution was a little different. If you do the execution better, you can do it better. Right, I don't think there is you. If you want to even start a sneaker brand today and a [42:51] t-shirt brand and a watch brand and a chapter, please don't, please don't start a headphone brand, but any [laughs] other brand, there is still space, there are or I hope they do, but Shark Tank India, some how every guest, [43:05] or they have so jeera, if I talk about simple drinks, then Lahari jeera, like we're talking about right now, or even watch Shark Tank, not the first reality, not even the first business reality, there were some hose then, horses table and a lot like that, right, but not [43:19] the first, but still it came out well, right, even a zepto, which is a good company, it is still one of the best retail companies in the country today, right, you know, we are environment, where we were used to the D- Marts of this world, right, there is so much [43:34] Marts of this world, right, there is so much you can do in any industry, so opportunities everywhere. But if you specifically ask me, by 2026, three things are going to happen, one of them is the fly to create brands. I also wrote in 2012 that [43:47] India is one of the most heavily unbranded countries in the world and it remains, so more outside brands will definitely come, but you see, always the local ones understand that local brands will always be enough for every Zara, there will be [44:03] a 100 localest fashion brands, right, so fashion brands, right, so for you, I don't know who is your competitor in headphones, but for that, both and a couple of others have [44:17] foreign makeup brands, you got you no sugarcoating. So this is going to be repeated in or at a massive scale, so brand businesses, if you have [44:29] a strong point of view and differentiation in a particular niche, that is evergreen. Be a new brand even in the US today. So in India, for the next 20-30 years, if you are passionate about that, by all means get in there but understand what your difference is. [44:44] The other one which is very exciting I am not going to name a lot for me personally is space the space of space magical stuff is happening because arre land pe karna bahut hard hai just now [44:57] because arre land pe karna bahut hard hai just now SpaceX is talking about data space and I am investor in a company called Agnikul we made India's first indigenous rockets with 3D printing technology [45:12] rockets with 3D printing technology completely retrievable even the top most which is doing extremely well and three four more such companies have been formed. So all of these in four more such companies have been formed. So all of these in 2026 specifically are going to do commercial [45:26] so RAD is still going on. So all these will become commercial. So from there you should see India. Great edition great great great. And I [45:38] think as a user as a consumer, we should also focus our obsession towards quality, towards local products if good things are being made in the country. We have been obsessed for years. I mean, if it's Michael Kors, then it's right. If it is Manpreet Kaur then it is not right. [laughter] [45:53] Manpreet Kaur vs. Mikey. If the quality is good then prefer Manpreet Kaur instead of Michael Kaur. What was your top learning from this podcast? Please do tell us in the comments below.
