[06:49] them. Now they're in high school and secretly, desperately in love with each pining and incredibly dense protagonists. Every chapter of the manga gives me a minor aneurysm from the sheer levels of will-they-won't-they fluff and
[07:03] near-miss confessions. I need this anime adaptation to finally give me the payoff my poor, withered heart can't handle waiting for anymore, okay? Just hold waiting for anymore, okay? Just hold hands already, dammit!

[07:48] know what? It absolutely slaps. The protagonist, Gero, has zero social skills, so he essentially treats dating like a high-stakes assassination mission spared. I mean, it's hilarious, but then it suddenly has jaw-dropping, unique
[08:03] action sequences involving toxin-based combat. It's equal parts wholesome dating advice and brutal murder. This is the kind of chaotic energy that anime was made for, and I'm all in on the conjugal assassination plots.
[08:42] comedic storytelling that sounds incredibly boring on paper, and turn it mangas I've read in years. Akane-banashi is phenomenal. It follows Akane, whose
[08:54] father was unfairly expelled from the rakugo pro world, as she storms that same world to prove his style was legitimate. It uses all the tropes of rivalries, intense training arcs, tournament structures, but applies them
[09:07] to the art of performing and voice acting. The way it visualizes stories thought I'd get goosebumps from someone just kneading on a cushion and talking for 20 minutes, but this series is built different. It's absolute cinema.

[10:00] psychological thriller genre. If you like Kaiji or Squid Game, this is their sophisticated, slightly more sociopathic older brother. The premise is simple. Regular people are invited to a mysterious Liar Game tournament where
[10:13] other players through deception. The execution, however, is mind-bending. Watching the brilliant protagonist Akiyama dismantle complex con games with sheer logic and 5D chess maneuvers is intoxicating. My brain's going to hurt
