## Transcript

Okay, let's go. Now it's just the audio.
Dude!
I can't. I can't. Multiply. The audience. No sign yet. I'm going too fast?
I don't think I would.
I'm inside the theater.
This is so Bioshock 1, dude. This is so Sandra Kelly. I love it.
I want to try the drill, darn it.
Just get drilled. Is it working? You know what? I'm just going to focus on it. Don't worry about it. I'll be on my way. I'm not going to let you go. I'll be on my way.
I'll be on my way. I'll be on my way. That works.
I'm going to go ahead and get back to you.
Thank you.
Oh, my God.
This is definitely my weapon dude, I'm so glad we got this in this fight, oh my god.
Thank you.
I'm going to go ahead and do that.
I'm getting tired. I'm getting tired. Bam!
Woo! Thank you. Oh, sorry, girl.
Cool. You're here. It's done. Oh.
Oh, dude. These are both awesome. I don't know I'm gonna do ground time I want to do extra falter
okay great that was a fun play oh that's a new ground friend place yeah
I don't think he leveled did we? hey Vicky how you doing this morning? ground friend goes hard?
Defeat. Slowly. Defeating a resident has consequences. Each victory initiates a new resident cycle, causing significant changes to the world.
With each new cycle, the world grows more dangerous. Enemies reappear and become harder. Most enemy encounters will respawn now tougher with new enemy types. All world feats will refresh in each zone.
The audience is here. Oh. In the theater. They're all gone. It was a resonant entity. I think she was the performer, the dancer. She's gone now, too.
Stopping a resonant is a win, Dylan. Take it. If I'd just gotten here sooner. If we'd let you out sooner, maybe the audience would have had a chance.
Given when the distress call stopped, it's been too late for a while. Get back safely.
Go. I want to see these new enemy types in world events.
See how much harder they are. Also, I want to try our new stuff on. It says they're right over there, on the ground.
Wait, they're below us. So, over here? Uh-huh.
Oh, world seats are optional objectives you can find around the world.
world completing them earns you valuable rewards including zone xp to help improve the areas you revisited What the hell am I talking about
Oh man, dude, that was a mess. Okay, I think it was like targeting things, but I couldn't see the target that was shooting at me and stuff. Try again.
Uh, the Haas 68, hey the best to ya man, glad it hopefully went well from the sounds of it. Every three upgrade points per room, okay.
This is the gaps in amort items each one of them raises your strength which increases your base damage and falter Okay, is that the first time we've done this? That's one of the first times we've done this.
That's funny. Ummm, how do I get back to where I was? Oh, it's right down here. Perfect. Okay, so let's try this again.
These are three. So these are a little tougher than you right now. They're red three. What the hell are these guys?
Oooh.
I'm sorry.
Great! I think I like the hammer better for the stagger than the drill.
I do. Okay, what's this one? Chase down the elusive stroller. What the heck is happening over here?
Oh, no.
Oh, damn. Yeah, I don't know about this. Um.
Got a mic.
How am I supposed to like, put you together these things?
I bet you were using me from way far okay um
let's go I feel like we need some more traversal stuff for that let's um can we fast travel from here or do I have to get to the place first don't I okay
Thank you.
I can't even move my camera.
camera, or see the guy just attacking me? That was so awkward. Like, because of the plane that I was on, I couldn't turn the camera any more towards the ground to look up and see the enemy that was attacking me so I could attack him. A little weird.
All right. Where am I?
There I am. I want to get out of here. Go back and do some more flexible.
It's Riven.
I feel like this whole area is above my level right now. What is that then? What is she having? Ready? Oh, it's moving.
3, 2...
Ok, we're over at the, uh... Oh, God. We're over at the place from before. Was there fast travel down here? I don't remember.
It's actually looped back up and around. Yeah, wonderful.
I think this is the way we want to be. Great. I think it was a weird exploded head quest.
Um, okay. No, we'll do another main quest. Is Phil going to do side quests anymore?
Yeah, we've already done a little bit and we're going to keep doing more. Cool, look at that thing. That's cool.
Here's the loading dock. It says investigate this area. Oh.
Hey, Zoe. The loading docks have a security camera. Whatever happened here might have been caught on tape. Oh, yeah. Good thinking. SBC's got access to most CCTV here in the city.
You might be able to find the footage at the security station. Does the FBC always have access? Is that legal? They pull the fuse for the crisis, Dylan.
But you can do that at any time. I'm not saying it's right. I'm not getting into this discussion with you, Dylan. I'll let him see.
Call the two. We can do it to you. All right. Okay.
You took Lewis to the field hospital right Whatever she had you got it too Go back I shoot Stop.
What the hell came out of that threshold? What are you?
That girl's head popped onto him, and now he's gonna go pop his head somewhere else? Oh, that's horrifying.
It's like, oh, it's some kind of contagious head-popping thing. Yeah.
Wilson! She was part of the expedition, Jim. She did enjoy it.
Now where is this exactly? This is behind here, so we should be able to go around here. All right, dude.
Get some perks. All right. I'm going kind of slow through here because I'm looking in the buildings and looking for
places you can run in and loop. I don't really want to sprint around this town. Whoa.
Oh, God.
Zoe, I think I found the research team's threshold. Something happened here, too. there's blood everywhere and another headless body.
I'm already tired of hearing that. I'll see what else I can find. If being on the threshold too long can affect someone's blood, what does that mean for our internal workings, our brain activity, metabolism, heart function, our breathing, our very skin and bones,
and how we affect it as an illness, a decline, or simply a mutation, a process with yet unknown results? Do we even want to know? Do you know anything about the threshold?
The dig site was discovered a couple weeks before the crisis kicked off. Research was very excited. The threshold appearing in Manhattan was a little shocking at the time, but even with happens, maybe it was just a random footstorm.
Apparently the threshold has experienced the auditory and visual phenomenon. Let's be trippy. We found something.
This is Lewis. Threshold site 7B, log number 22, following Expedition 9, completed at 2 hours 38 minutes.
Our longest to date. My physicist theorizes it was a physical phenomenon, of course. Something akin to ball lightning. Our biologist says there's a possibility he was actually alive.
An interdimensional microbe, maybe. Our para-anthropologist, Wilson, thinks it was intelligent life. I guess everyone sees what they expect to see. We brought it back to the station.
We didn't exactly follow proper procedures, but we had to act fast. There was no time for paperwork or approvals. I made a call. We named it AVP-1, Auditory Visual Phenomena 1.
It only lasted 27.0038 seconds before dissipating. AVP-1, because we think we can capture another,
maybe even sustain it long enough to do some proper testing. The team has ideas on how. I should add, I'm worried about Wilson. I might have to pull him off the team.
He's been going over three times, getting outside the threshold, staring into it. I caught him last night performing an unauthorized solo expedition.
I'm not even sure he's sleeping. I'm sending him in for a full medical workup and psych evaluation. Wilson's new day. Oh, goddammit! Talk after!
Okay, there we go. Okay, so I looted something off of the hand of the corpse there. I think we should do more out here.
Let's look around still. Hey, Tech. Good morning. Oh, maybe we can go into this area now.
Here we go. Okay. Okay. Now we're going. Keep talking.
What's going on out there? I can't believe it. Oh, my God. Wilson? What happened? Did his fucking head explode?
Just black. Black? What's wrong with you? He caught you in the threshold five hours again, didn't he? Is that why you killed him? Lewis would have pulled you off the car when he found out.
What did you do to her? Do you think I did this? Your blood test came back. The threshold is changing a little bit. What? Look, we need to go back to the threshold. The threshold?
Are you crazy? He needs a doctor. Cock, get over here. What the fuck? I'm taking Lewis to the field hospital.
Keep Wilson here. But I was reassigned to the loading dock. Are you shitting me? Look what happened. Nobody's reassigned. Watch him. I can help. You want to help, Wilson? Figure out what the fuck is going on.
Otherwise, I'm pointing the finger at you. I'm inside the Threshold Team's research station. Sounds like a couple of them headed to the field hospital.
Wilson's name came up again, Zoe. This time, accused of murder. Shit. If I find him, maybe I can figure out what's really going on.
Zoe, how well did you know Wilson? We weren't exactly friends, but I know he was pretty well liked. Smart, right? Just didn't really know anyone. What? We don't have the whole story yet.
I guess we'll see. I'm done with thresholds full stop. I'd rather take my chances with the hiss. Got crisis reassignment orders to a guard post at the field office. There's less of a chance of my head exploding like an overhide melon to loading docks.
And I don't have to stay in guard next to a corpse. I don't trust Wilson. He hasn't been okay since we found those energy whatever they are is in the threshold. Acting weird as hell. so we can go to the field hospital
or we can find Wilson at the warehouse so how does this work Chad if I see a 2
and a 1 does like the 1 always continue the story and the 2 is always optional should we always do 2 first or 1 first how does this work with the multiple
objective things I want to make sure we do everything so I don't know if there's like an order to it. Let's do the field hospital first. I'm assuming finding Wilson is going to be a big deal, so we'll do one first.
Oh, God.
Possible aphasia. Blood pressure. Peter's broken. You said one of your team is already in a deep... Yeah. Back at the date site. Temperature is...
She's hyper-pregnant. What does that mean? It means I need to act fast to save her life. And you need quarantine. You think it's contagious? I feel fine. Keep your distance, please.
I need help in here! Patient 0-1-2-7 deceased. Threshold contagion suspected.
Patient's escort fled. Exposures? Everyone on the deck site team Myself The rest of my report is on file I have no choice but to add the containment until
...eliseum bed. It'll be easier that way. Oh. Zoe, I found another body without a head.
Copy that. You're in the field hospital? Yeah. I'll see what I can find out. Good. Zoe, there's a locked cabinet near the body here.
Any chance you've got the field hospital codes? Right. The codes. No. No one there will either. Security just updated all access codes for security reasons.
Problem is, they haven't delivered them yet, and it will probably be a while. Gera's not exactly known for efficiency. Okay. So, your best bet is to head directly to the security station. You can get the code from there.
Let me explore out. Just breaking everything as I go by.
Great. Did we get it? 0665. There we go. Everything's redacted. I like that. Factory accident.
Hmm. That's the factory we saw in the top area.
Is there one here? No. No. No.
Below's list of expedition team personnel with a possible exposure to an intradimensional contagion, including their last real whereabouts, recommended for immediate containment in quarantine. Got the medical cabinet open, Zoe. Found the quarantine list related to the body.
It's for the threshold team. The theory here was they caught a paranatural disease. You think it's contagious? I've got to find Wilson before someone else dies
alright let's go all that we just did was optional and that was just one so we'll have to keep that in mind
hmm And we're going now to the warehouse this way. Oh, there's something on the way. It was a air drop. Wait, what?
Uh, how do we do this again? Do we go this way first? Oh yeah, I think we're going this way. That just took us to here though.
Nah, I think we need to go back down to like here and loop around. Okay.
I just heard that audio skip at the music, by the way. That was weird.
Okay, this side's good. Nope, gotta go more for the down. Ooh.
Langston's beat poetry? Oh, God. Hello? Uh, uh, uh, one quick second.
Climb the wall behind the dig site? Maybe. Stillen. Hey. Welcome to the field, Panopticon. Nice hat, bro. Do I know you? We've met, if that's what you're asking. Of course, you're in a coma.
Uh, but I know your sister. Uh, Frederick Langston, Panopticon supervisor. Hey, just so there's no, uh, bad blood, your, uh, care in the Panopticon before your coma?
Not how I would have handled it, at all. Darling wouldn't let me or my team anywhere near yourself. So, anyway. Anyway. How does it feel to finally be out?
What did Darling tell you about me? You were already locked in the panopticon when I was promoted. And Darling didn't like talking about you. Not that he talked to me anyway. He surrounded himself with sycophants.
All Darling really said was you were extremely dangerous, yada yada, and only his team was capable of handling your containment needs. I never liked that guy.
You're not worried he was right about me? As if there's nothing else dangerous in the Panopticon. I was infinitely more qualified. Darling was research, not containment. Different fields, different expertise.
One arguably more legitimate than the other. not tied down by the rigid rules of science. Darling, should have let my team take care of you. We deal with danger all the time, way more than research. Believe you me.
Hey, while I have you, we've got a serious situation on our hands. Mission-critical stuff. It's the field panopticon. Maintenance was doing some routine work in there, shifting gears around or whatever it is they do.
Only the team got a call halfway through. Apparently, something important came up, and they left the security system barely functional. How am I supposed to run a Panopticon with no security?
You're right. The FTC needs a working Panopticon. Escaped, altered items are the last thing anyone wants right now. Exactly. You get it. Bad can always be worse. Somebody needs to go in there and fix whatever it is they've broken.
I can't do it. I've got enough on my plate. Then I'll give it my best shot. Knew I could count on a fade-in. It'll be a piece of cake, trust me.
By the way, while you're in there, I'm also going to need you to move an altered item. It's a radio, vintage from the 60s, surfaced in all the chaos. The Stelotson now isn't calibrated for an item with its particular needs.
Altered items can be very funny, and it's too risky to move it without the security system up and running. Can an altered item be fussy? Hey, maybe they're not alive by science's definition,
but treating them with respect is still the numero uno method for keeping them docile. Even if that means participating in some highly specific and cryptic rituals. Just go on in. The field pen opticon's right here behind my office, such as it is.
I'll monitor you on the CCTV. I'm not doing that now. But cool. We'll come back and do that at some point. I would go down here.
Does the red line mean I can't go through there? No, it's not what that means. Maybe I can go back here somewhere.
I'm not quite sure how the game wants me to get to this point. I can't go straight up this way. Let's try going as straight as we can, I guess.
Is there anything I can...what's that? Wait, what's this? Oh! Wait, is this it?
Why don't I have my shoes?
Oh, there's two different things. God, the poor genie is stuck in here, dude.
How cool! How cool! Cool.
Right. So wait, this goes up to the park? Oh.
