>> Hey,
>> hello everybody and welcome to New Rock
Stars. This week is a very special week.
Cineacon, the world's largest trade show
for the motion picture theater industry,
is happening right now in Las Vegas. Uh
Eric Voss and Jessica Clemens are
currently on site in Vegas with proof.
That's them. That's from like half an
hour ago.
>> Uh we will be here live giving you all
the news as it breaks. I'm Alex Berg.
With me today on the bench are Zack
Huddleston. Say hi, Zack.
>> Hi, Zack.
>> Uh Abby Fel, say hi, Zack.
>> Hi, Zack.
>> Uh and behind the camera making
everything go is Brian Kim. Brian, say
hi Zack.
>> Hi, Zack.
>> Okay. Um over under 20% on Hi, Zack.
continuing sound off in the chat
>> over
>> over. Uh we will be keeping a close eye
uh on the chat for super chats and
questions from members and such. So
please hit us up. We already saw um uh
Christian Unpronouncable give out 10
gift subs. Thank you, Christian
Unpronouncable. Uh Frederick Price,
member for 12 months. Uh can't wait.
>> Frederick Price, one of our executive
producers. We appreciate you, Frederick
Price.
>> Hey, Frederick. Uh Andrew Garrett with a
$2 super chat or uh donation already.
Over under 20% that tonight will rock.
Over over that's that's a that's a iron
lock
>> iron lock on over
>> and just for anybody that wasn't here
yesterday get ready uh a meme was
developed over the course of course of
the evening during the Sony panel the
question of over under 20% uh and so you
know what we're going to embrace the
meme we're staring into the skin we're
leaning into
>> and we're going to be doing our own over
under 20%s uh throughout uh this panel.
Yes Brian
>> oh we we got another super chat. Oh. Uh,
Kang the Conqueror discovered in the
list. The list.
>> Oh,
>> I know there's a lot of lists going
around, but I'm going to presume this is
Heidi Fly's little back black book from
the late '90s.
>> From back in the '90s.
>> Back in the '90s. That's the list.
>> Uh, uh, Epste.
>> Not Epste. No.
>> Um,
>> I mean, probably also Epstein, but, you
know,
>> wild that somebody could like uh time
travel and has like thousands of
variants, but still needs to go to a sex
pest's uh island to uh get his rocks
off. Okay. Um, let's so let's just do a
real quick like sort of setup for what
we're hoping to get today and what we
got yesterday. So today's panel is WB.
We're expecting to hear some big news
around some DC releases. We will cover
those soon. We're going to be doing it
live and so there's going to be a lot of
times where we're like, "Oh god, this
thing just happened." Um, but first,
let's do a quick recap of the biggest
news from yesterday's Sony panel.
Arguably the biggest news is that we saw
an opening scene from Beyond the
Spider-Verse as well as a new scene from
Spider-Man Brand New Day. Uh we will
have more thorough breakdowns of those
scenes up on the channel.
>> Well, they're currently the the
breakdown of the Brand New Day channel.
It's been up on the New Rockstars uh
channel for a few hours.
>> Oh, that's Oh, yes, that's live. Yes, we
can that
>> probably the Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Eric's going to maybe get to that
depending on other news that breaks this
week at his earliest convenience. Yes.
>> Also, you can make a decent case. The
biggest news come out yesterday is that
Beyond the Spiderverse has not been
delayed.
>> Anytime that happens, anytime they stick
to their release date of June 2027, I
think win for a little miracle. Now,
there were a couple other big
announcements from the Sony panel
yesterday. Uh, filming is wrapped on
Zelda. Uh, there are there's a new
Insidious trailer online. Jack Septic
Eyes developing an animated Bloodborne
movie. Zack Kger's Resident Evil sounds
gnarly as hell. people got to see a
couple scenes showed a scene for that
sounded great. Yeah.
>> Um so yeah, so a lot of good stuff from
Sony yesterday. If if Sony's panel
yesterday is any indication for how
today will go, it will start off with
some major asskissing and brown-nosing
of the prominent theater chain.
>> Boring industry people. Yes.
>> There'll be a solid half hour where you
guys in the chat are like, "What's
happening?" We'll be like, "Trust us,
it's nothing you care about." Then all
of a sudden, we will get news faster
than we can digest it. Yes. And and
specifically
uh as as great and we didn't even
mention they talked Jamanji yesterday
there there was a lot Sony had a really
good panel for Sony's purposes. Uh we
got a super chat here. Um
>> uh up
down 18%.
>> Clayface trailer today over. Also now
we've already messed up with the meme.
We've changed it from 20 to 18%. We're
saying up down instead of over under.
>> It's okay. We're playing with We're
playing with Jeff
>> over 18%. I don't know. Actually, I
shouldn't say I don't know that we get a
full trailer, but we will see some play.
>> We got a hand up from Brian back there
in the producer corner.
>> Got a super chat coming in from Sarah
Hatchador.
>> Oh, per the bit. Hi, Zach. But also, hi
Abby Berg and Brian. Over under 20%,
there's an announcement that surprises
as much as Bloodborne
>> over and and here's why. So, I just want
to do a quick recap of these are movies
from Warner Brothers that are confirmed
coming out in 2026. Okay, we've already
mentioned a couple of them. Supergirl
and Clayface, the two big DC releases,
Dune 3.
>> Yeah, number one in my heart and in my
mind. Uh, but uh that's at the end of
the year. But then these are other
movies they have coming out this year.
Uh, Mortal Kombat 2, Evil Dead Burn, The
End of Oak Street, that's the Annne
Heftway McGregor.
>> No, no, no. That's not the JJ Abrams.
That's the John Mitchell um the guy who
did It Follows and Under the Silver
Lake. It's the Ian Hathaway uh you
McGregor. It's produced by JJ.
But then J.J. Abrams also has a movie
coming out, The Great Beyond Starring
Glenn Powell that we know nothing about
other than it's sci-fi. So we might get
some interesting information there. Um
Digger, the Tom Cruz
film. Uh, the animated Cat in the Hat,
Practical Magic 2, which is right up
there with Devil Wars Prada 2 as far as
like really speaking to millennial
women, you know?
>> I never saw Practical Magic until like
three or four years ago. It's great.
>> It's a good movie.
>> It's so good. Yeah, it I mean like
without having any nostalgia for it,
just watching it being like this is
wonderful.
>> I don't know if Zach agrees based on
that.
>> Yeah, it's quite facial expression.
>> You know what? Here's my only thing. I
enjoyed Practical Magic. Nicole Kidman,
Sandra Bulock, very talented. Maybe I'm
so burned by Hocus Pocus, too.
>> That was
>> that I don't I don't want to let them
hurt me again. You know what I mean?
>> Yeah. Fair.
>> But it would be Warner Brothers, not
Disney.
>> That's right. Yeah. Yeah. So, I I'm I'm
hopeful there.
>> I'll tell you this. I was in Salem,
Massachusetts, uh right after Hocus
Pocus 2 finished filming, and that city
was a buzz with Hocus Pocus 2 hype.
>> Interesting.
>> It was That city goes all out for any
witch movie and and Disney knows it. any
which way, any which way movie. Uh, but
so those are all the confirmed 2026
movies. And then I should also say early
in 27, so before the next Cinema Con, so
they might mention it here. There's also
a movie called Animal Friends, uh, that
stars Aubrey Plaza and Dan Levy. Um, and
it's it's it's like about them chasing
animals, something like that. It seems
like a fun com family comedy. Um, but
things that we also could hear about
today,
>> uh, The Batman 2
>> coming out next year. Matt Reeves is the
Batman 2. Uh, Man of Tomorrow. We are
anticipating James Gun being on stage.
He was on stage last year. Anticipating.
>> We just got some casting news this
morning for Man of Tomorrow.
>> Adri Jonah been cast in an unnamed I
believe.
>> Well, I don't know that they've said.
>> Oh, it's undisclosed.
>> Undisclosed. A lot of people are
speculating it could be Maxima. Uh,
that's coming out next year. And also,
we don't know any other theatrical DC
properties beyond Man of Tomorrow. They
haven't green lit anything or slated
anything. So maybe we get something
confirmed there. Hunt for Gollum, the
next liveaction Lord of the Rings movie.
Warner Brothers is doing that. We uh
could hear something about that. Um they
have another Dr. Seuss movie. Oh, the
Places You'll Go. Um there's like a a
Flintstones movie that has been in the
works.
>> Interesting. Animated.
>> I believe it's animated.
>> I was going to say we bringing back John
Goodman and Halib Berry. Like what's
going on here?
>> Yeah, I Oh, that'd be great. um
Minecraft 2, you know, they're cooking
on another Minecraft movie. And then um
last at last year's panel, they showed
footage from an animated DC movie,
Dynamic Duo, about like two Robins
teaming up. That movie is currently
listed online is not coming out till
2028, but they showed footage last year.
Yeah.
>> So, like I I don't know. Maybe. So, all
there's to say, either A, maybe that
movie comes out sooner than 2028, or B,
they're going to show us random footage
from other movies that aren't coming out
for 3 years. Yeah.
>> Who knows? Um, but I wanted to run past
you guys to steer into the over under
20% meme here.
>> Get your quick overs or unders things
that we might see in this panel. Tom
Cruz on stage. Over under 20%.
>> Over.
>> Over.
>> Yeah, he he often shows up. He was there
for The Last Mission Impossible. He
showed up for Maverick. I think that's a
strong A shovel.
>> Ooh, with a shovel.
>> Shovel jumping.
>> Great.
>> Yeah,
>> I like I like I like the boldness of
that. Uh James Gunn on stage.
>> Over.
>> I think over and probably overstaying
his welcome if last year's panel is
anything to go by.
>> Yes. Uh new DC project announced.
>> I Man, that's tough. That feels like a
ComicCon move more so than a Cineacon
move. M
>> or even just James Gun releases a video
of him staring into camera and
announcing that or he he announces it on
threads or something like that.
>> I'm going to say under.
>> Okay.
>> Yeah, I'm going to say.
>> Yeah. Um
uh do we get maybe um footage from Man
of Tomorrow? As far as we know, it's not
in production.
>> No, but James Gun just today or
yesterday posted a photo of David
Kornswe in costume. Like we don't know.
That could have been from the set of
Superman.
>> I think we may get production stills.
>> Okay.
>> I doubt we have any any footage or
anything edited or may maybe some behind
the scenes stuff tops, you know, shot of
a costume or something, but but that's
that's about it, I think.
>> Um, do you think is Timmy Sha there?
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Timmy Timmy Shalom is
everywhere. He's going to be there doing
his schwap thing or whatever, you know,
like he's he's going to show up. He's
going to dance to Soulja Boy. Something
dumb. Now, does he fight a ballerina on
stage? Over under 20%.
>> Over.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> An opera singer and a ballet ballerina.
Same time. Um Yeah. Because he also
recently they announced their uh
>> Wonka 2 has been green lit. That's also
Warner Brothers property
>> with rumored Cersair Ronin.
>> Can't go wrong with Cersei Ronin in my
opinion. Yeah.
>> We're due for a circus.
You know what I mean? Say that three
times fast. Um, she's been kind of
quiet. She's made some movies that
haven't been as big a hit. I mean, she
was on a hell of a run there for a
minute. I think she started a family as
well, so like hasn't been working as
much.
>> Uh, is it What's the name of the guy
from uh Slow Horses, right? Isn't that
the
>> Jack? Is he a Jack?
>> I think he's a Jack.
>> He's blonde.
>> Uhhuh.
>> Is he blonde? I think of him as a
redhead.
>> Oonnell and O'Donnell. Again, we have
three laptops on stage. We will not be
>> will not look it up. I got too many
windows open. anything. I'm just
>> I offered you a laptop and you said no.
>> No, I wanted to be with
>> She wants to be present. Um, a a quick
reminder of Warner Brothers 2000 or
2025. So, they're coming off a hell of a
year.
>> Hang on. We're getting a Eric chiming
into the chat.
>> They gave attendees in the room these
little plastic packages marked do not
open.
>> Oh,
>> I bet it's like dirt.
>> Oh, digger.
>> Digger.
>> Or I mean, yeah, do not open. Now, that
could be those could be 3D glasses.
>> Yes.
>> Could be uh smellvision scratchers.
>> Jess squeezed it and it felt like a
plushy.
>> Oh, then why do not open?
It's a thing one or a thing two.
>> Don't open that box. They'll wreck your
house.
>> Thing one and thing two. Thing two and
thing one. They can do anything,
anything, anything under the sun.
>> That's right.
>> Right. We almost
one bit. Um uh that's fun. Yeah, that's
of course Bill her. Uh, it's gonna be a
big release for them this year. Big
family film. Um, okay. But quick
reminder of Warner Brothers 2025.
>> Superman, obviously we talked about that
a lot here. Uh, one battle after
another, the best picture winner,
>> huge
>> sinners, the most nominated uh, film at
the Academy Award ever. Um, Final
Destination Bloodline, very beloved
horror reboot kind of. They also had
Conjuring Last Rights. It was very
successful Minecraft movie that I think
was a top 10 box office.
>> That movie was huge
>> hit. Um they now they co-produced with
Apple F1. It wasn't fully a Warner
Brothers movie, but that movie was also
a big hit. Um and then and weapons, one
of my favorite movies uh of last year.
And then you know what? They had some
swings and misses in there too. Mickey
17, The Bride, you know, they can't all
be bangers, but they're a studio that
their recent history has been in
addition to they're hitting the IP like
everybody else. They got DC movies, they
got Minecraft movies, whatever. But they
are taking some big original film
swings,
>> which I love to see. And and obviously,
you can't talk about WB's future without
talking about the looming merger with
Paramount. There's a lot of uncertainty
around what their film slate even can be
moving out. Paramount claims they want
to put out 30 movies combined between
those two studios every year. The math
on that feels wonky. Deadline had a
great piece on it on Sunday if you want
to dig into it a little bit more. But so
I'm curious with WB going into the CI
into Cineacon today. Like how far out
are they able to actually promise and
how much of this is just going trust us
we will be making
>> and again those two studios have not yet
merged. there's still like some people
trying to fight that. They think even
best case scenario that's probably not
happening till the end of 2026. Um so
for now they are presenting separately.
And also we just got news today speaking
of Paramount they announced that they
are going to be um producing a Longlegs
sequel.
>> Okay.
>> Still starring a Nicholas Cage which is
interesting if you saw Longlegs one. um
uh that that was a neon property, but
apparently they wanted to do bigger
budget and things like that, so they had
to go to a bigger studio and that was
Paramount. So that that's interesting.
Paramount is doing a panel tomorrow, so
maybe they talk about that as well. Um,
but like you know talking about Warner
Brothers last year,
one battle after another and sinners
kind of and weapons kind of being three
original films from kind of uh very
talented iconic classic directors,
writer directors. It they have on their
slate this year some similar big swings
on original properties. Digger, the Tom
Cruz movie we mentioned before, this
great beyond J.J. Abrams first
theatrical film I think since The Last
Jedi.
>> No, Rise of Skywalker.
>> Rise of Skywalker. Yeah. Sorry, he
didn't do Last Jedi. Yeah, Rise of
Skywalker, but that's so his first movie
in a number of years. It's supposedly an
original sci-fi movie starring Glenn
Pal. We know nothing about it. Maybe we
get some footage. Um, and then The End
of Oak Street. Uh, the one we mentioned
earlier, which I a trailer has already
been released for that. It's like set in
the 80s. this family realizes that like
at the end of their street like the
world has disappeared or something like
that. Seems like a kind of creepy uh
sci-fi kind of thing. I mean, could one
of those end up being the sinners or the
weapons of next year?
>> I feel like the end of Oak Street has
weapons potential.
>> Yeah, that feels like it could be like a
good sort of one. I mean, I'm sure if
it's successful, they'll franchise it,
but it feels like it could be a good
sort of oneoff. Hey, you can come in,
have an adventure with the family, and
then leave. Looks like it's four
quadrant. Kids are very heavily
involved, you know, like I think that
could be a a good one. Um
uh okay. Uh let's real quick before the
uh stream gets started, we want to do
just a couple of of
>> Well, the the stream has started. Before
the panel
>> before the panel starts, we want to do a
quick plug. We have a uh live show
coming up this Friday in Los Angeles. Uh
April 17th at 7 p.m. New Rock Stars will
be doing a live staged reading of
MorbiiUs at the Upright Systems Brigade
Theater in Los Angeles. Carl Tart uh is
going to be doing the show with us. Uh
if you are in LA, you can buy tickets
and come to the show using the link in
the description. If you're not in LA and
you want to watch remotely, you can buy
live stream tickets to the show in the
description. Uh so please uh please
click below. Uh we also want to give a
real quick uh shout out to Curiosity Box
who is sponsoring our week of Cineacon
content. Now if you were here yesterday,
we made a big bal who about their
hard-boiled egg molds.
>> So this is I think the actual box is
right behind you there, B. So this is a
a monthly uh like delivery box. This is
from the um uh the creator behind the
Vsauce uh YouTube channel, Science
Creator that puts out this box. And
every month it's a different thing. We
talked about it yesterday. There's
there's some fun bits, but one of the
things that I found most fun in there
are these little hard-boiled egg molds.
Okay, I've used these to delight my
daughter. and we're gonna reveal uh
producer Patty went home last night,
used this mold
>> uh to
>> make some hard-boiled eggs.
>> Yes.
>> Isn't this the coolest thing you ever
heck
>> yeah?
>> This is a a a diamond shaped uh
hard-boiled egg. It feels a little bit
like a softboiled. And just to prove,
you know, no camera magic taking place
here. This looks like a a diamond ring.
Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Go cool hand Luke
on it.
>> Or Euphoria season 3 episode 1.
>> Haven't watched it yet. Spoilers.
>> Okay. This one didn't This one didn't
turn out as well. I have found I've also
found some struggles with the Einstein
head.
>> You got to get a real big egg. Real
>> has to be a jumbo egg. Uh cuz he's got a
big old head. Um but they have a a bunch
of cool things. You get a different uh
>> it's a quarterly delivery thing. They
are all these kind of like sciency but
mostly fun.
>> Yeah. We have these ambic cuties, you
know, is it a rabbit? Is it a duck? And
they made a plushy out of it. They have
a whole line of these that are really
fun. So you can see
>> duck.
>> Oh,
>> rabbit.
>> What is it?
>> Duck. That's a That's to you to decide.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Rabbit.
>> So Oh wow. Uh, so there's a link in the
in our description. Um, if you click on
that link, you can you can get a little
discount if you subscribe to Curiosity
Box. We also get a little uh kickback
there, so you help support our channel.
This makes for a great gift. Maybe
you've got a science lover in your life.
Maybe you got a mom. Mother's Day is
coming up.
>> This is a fun gift for mom. Maybe you
got a dad that would like this kind of
thing. Father's Day is not too far off.
Uh, so it's a great gift. It's also just
fun for yourself if you like a little
treat in the mail every once in a while.
So, thank you to Curiosity Box there.
>> We got a hand up from Brian. Some super
chats incoming.
>> Yeah, some super chats. First one from
Christian Unpronouncable right here.
>> Okay. Uh Christian Unpronouncable
saying, "Found out my local theater will
be playing Digital Circus. $5 super
chat." Thank you, Christian
Unpronouncable. I I've been seeing like
digital circus pop up in my sidebar and
stuff, but I I don't know what it I
believe it's uh what what the property
is or what the event is?
>> Both.
>> Okay. So, this is and I'm I'm not super
well versed in it, but I know it is a it
it started online. It has been it has
become very popular. They're doing a big
finale event in theaters. I believe it
set a record for Fathom Events, the
people that do like the opera and movie
theaters and stuff like that as far as
like pre-sales. Uh so, that's that's a
big deal. And apparently Christian
Unpronouncable will also uh be able to
attend that. Yeah, we got more super
chats coming in.
>> Okay, Omalore, $5 super chat. Thank you
for coming back, Omalore. Crazy Theory
3, they announced they are not merging
with Paramount. No chance.
>> No, that would that would pop the
audience pretty hard cuz I think theater
owners are not excited about losing a
movie studio.
>> I think Damon Lindelof had a quote
yesterday after they signed this like
thousand person, you know, thousand
Hollywood luminary, please don't let
this merger and he he called out and
this is true. He was like, "People don't
realize that LA is a bluecollar town.
Like for for as much as the celebrities
get all the attention and all the
pictures, like for every Brad Pitt,
there are 200 dudes in cargo shorts who
like just wake up at 6:00 a.m. to make
sure that all the panels are put up and
all the rigging is done."
>> The the lot the parking lots on studios
are filled with pickup trucks.
>> Yes.
>> And like beat up old sedans and stuff
like that. And like those are the people
who lose their jobs when Hollywood
produces uh less content. Yeah, for
sure. Um, okay, we've got another uh
super chat coming in. I can read this
one. Carson Robinson saying over under
20% we get stills or posters for
Supergirl. I think that's a hard over. I
think I think Millie AOK might be on
stage.
>> Um, we might get some previously
unreleased scenes for sure. Over under
20% DC brings back the Arowverse as
canon.
>> I think under I I think DC really liked
the Aerrowverse. I think it was really
good for them, but I think they're in a
new era now. I think they're just
>> don't want to look back. We're looking
forward. Also, I should announce Thank
you to everybody that's already done
super chats.
>> I I will and I'll personally uh keep
track of this. The person that sends in
the highest super chat during the
stream, I will drink a beer in your
honor during the Disney panel on
Thursday. Okay. on stream. I I will slam
a bureau in your honor and the person
>> at the beginning or at the end of the
stream.
>> Well, that's I mean, if I do it at the
beginning, it'll just be chaos. Okay. Uh
and uh also, whoever has sent in the
most cumulative super chats, I also try
to keep track of that and we appreciate
you even uh at at at volume. So, like
both of I will drink two bureaus on the
Thursday uh Disney stream. Speaking of
the Thursday stream, Brian, can we pull
up our little schedule for the week just
to remind folks? Um, there we go. Okay.
And we already got rid of Monday cuz
that's the past, baby. That's cancelled
check. So, today uh we've got the Warner
Brothers panel starting uh now or um
soon.
>> Yes. Uh tomorrow um we got the Universal
panel. We'll be getting Minions and
Monsters. We'll be getting Disclosure
Day, The Odyssey, all kinds of other uh
releases. And then the biggest one for
us probably Disney on Thursday. Uh we'll
get we we've got confirmed Doomsday news
that will be dropped on Thursday in
addition to Mandalor and Grou, Star Wars
Starf Fighter, lots of other properties
as well. So
>> yeah, we we think Thursday is going to
be for fans of our channel who watch our
content. That will be the one that hits
right in the bullseye. Um so we're
excited about that.
Uh there's a second part of that
question which was uh over under uh DC
brings back the arrowverse.
>> Oh, I'm saying no. I'm saying they moved
on. Yeah. Yeah.
>> We're saying they moved on from under% I
would still pick. Yeah. That's not
happening. Also, that was never a
theatrical thing. So like I I assume
this is quick reminder Cineacon is just
movies and specifically it's just movies
that go to theaters.
>> Yes.
>> So no no streaming.
>> Yeah. That's why you don't have a big
Netflix presence, you know. Yeah.
>> Um,
>> okay. We got another super chat coming
in. Uh, CT Cook 6477, no more mergers or
monopolies. Thumbs down. That's right.
That's the proper direction to point
your thumbs.
>> Yeah, it's never good for anyone but the
fat cats when the fat cat companies
merge.
>> Yes.
>> Uh, OG Slender PG with a gremlin. Uh, I
hope they announce some Gremlins 3 news
tonight. I I mean,
>> yeah, I would love that. Uh, I'm a huge
Joe Dante fan. Gremlins 2: The New Batch
is one of the most delightfully unhinged
movies. Do you guys know the story
behind that movie?
>> Yes.
>> He basically Gremlins 1 was a huge
success and the the studio was trying to
get Joe Dante to make a sequel for ages.
And he was just like, I will not unless
you give me zero notes. And they finally
caved. And so Gremlins 2: The New Batch
is just like lunacy because nobody could
tell him how. a great Kian Peele sketch
about Gremlins 2 and how they just
squeezed in every insane thing they
could. Yeah. And so I think
>> I believe that there recently announced
Gremlins 3 in development. I don't know
if it has a slated date yet. I believe
Joe Dante is attached to it in some
degree.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. That'd be that's going to be dope.
Uh, we're kind of in a in a zone right
now with Masters of the Universe, Street
Fighter, Mortal Kombat, a lot of things
that Children of the 80s and 90s were
immersed in are getting their big kind
of theatrical reboots. I mean, Super
Mario Galaxy in theaters right now.
>> Yes. All right, let's see. We got the
New Rockstars Twitter feed up.
>> Sorry, I'm in the way.
>> No, no, no, no, no.
>> Okay, we just got Eric and Jess in
Vegas. our our own Eric Voss and Jessica
Clemens are in the room in uh at Las
Vegas Cinema Con for this WB panel. They
will be kind of relaying information in
real time and then we will uh tell you
about it. Um so we will be refreshing
the new Rockstar's Twitter account. Eric
Voss himself is uh tweeting on that
account. You can also follow that. Um
yes, we've got more super chats coming
in.
Uh
>> Nick Howie uh saying Amazon and
Universal have a panel on Wednesday.
Yes, Paramount and Disney are on
Thursday. Thank you. Oh, and is that a
New Zealand?
>> Looks like New Zealand. This is Kiwi
Money.
>> My man, are you already tomorrow? Uh
Nick Howie
>> 19 hours ahead of us.
>> I know. So you're you're technically
you're tweeting us. You're super
chatting from the Universal panel. Um
but uh yeah, so we should clarify there.
So, every day at um at Cineacon, every
studio has panels, right? They kind of
the the four biggest studios, Sony,
Warner Brothers, Universal, and Disney
have kind of the afternoon, evening
spots over the four days, but then other
studios also have other spots. We were
just doing one stream per day. So, we'll
kind of recap the the smaller ones.
Yesterday, there were also panels from
Angel Studios and uh Focus Features uh
and Studio Canal. Today already there
was a panel for Neon. Yes. Where they uh
they showed some interesting footage
from some smaller films. Neon does a lot
of great horror work uh and some kind of
dramas and awards.
>> Neon also sometimes has just the best
marketing of of any any studio.
>> Yeah, Neon and A24 right up there. Uh
Nicholas R. Hun just sent in a donation.
Thank you for your donation.
>> Nicholas Hun Loi girl lore enthusiasts.
Uh people have been given a mysterious
package ahead of the Warner Brothers
panel says do not open. We know one of
those people was Jessica Clemens and she
has squeezed it and said it felt like a
plush.
>> So we we speculating and uh it was Aby's
idea feels guaranteed true that it is
probably a thing one or thing two from
uh the Cat in the Hat
>> animated film. Now what would be the
wildest thing that it could be? like a
human foot,
you know, like like if they gave
everybody if WB gave everybody a severed
human foot and was like, "Don't open it
>> to any movie."
>> Unrelated to any It's not part of a
promotional thing. They were just like,
"We had to get rid of these in a way
that would like, you know,
>> what if it's just like a bag of hair?"
>> Yeah. Yeah. It's Yeah. Same thing.
>> Digger. I mean, supposedly in in the the
little leaked or released teaser footage
we got for Tom Cruz's Digger film,
doesn't it appear he has really long
hair?
>> Yeah, it looked like he had like kind of
like a malt thing.
>> What if it's like a digger wig?
>> Digger wig.
>> A bigger dig.
>> I'm not going to I'm not going to merge
those two together. We got another uh
hand up from Brian
Jared LT78. Uh $5 super chat. Thank you,
Jared. Do you think we'll find out who
uh Adria Arjona will be playing a man of
tomorrow?
>> Over under 20%. I might go over. I think
there's a reason they announced the
casting today right before the Warner
Brothers panel. Um, also James Gunn
really likes to be the one to break any
DC news.
>> So, I feel like he can kind of own that
story by saying it on stage. Maybe
there's kind of been a weird little
journey there of last week, uh, some
outlets reported that there were four
actresses in the running for some part
in this film. um James Gunn came out and
was like dispelled that like no this
isn't true at all. But one of the
actresses mentioned in that grouping was
Adriara Jonas. So like clearly it was
true to some degree. Um so it's been
kind of an interesting arc to that
story.
>> Do we know who's playing Brainiac?
>> Yes. Is it Matias Shunarts? Is that
right?
>> No. That's the gentleman playing uh
what's his name of the Yellow Hills and
Supergirl. It's a
>> Yes, you're right. You're right. It's a
It's a Danish actor who was in um he was
just in that George Clooney movie that
came out last year, but is a relative um
unknown to uh American audiences, I
believe.
>> I like already forgot.
>> Yeah,
>> the whole cast.
>> Uh we have another
>> Oh, Lars Edinger, the chat is telling
us, "Thank you, chat. Thank you, James
Reges. Thank you, Begsy."
>> It will also be interesting. He might be
fully CGI. We don't know.
>> Yeah, true. Yeah.
>> Um,
>> so this wasn't a super chat, but it's
something that people have asked in chat
earlier. Um, there's like we don't know
for certain who uh they're going to cast
the uh what was her name? Adria.
>> Adri Jonah, you know. Uh, but do you
think higher or lower uh it's like
someone like Maxima or someone new or
maybe Wonder Woman? Because some people
are thinking maybe she could be Wonder
Woman.
>> I don't think it's I don't think it's
Wonder Woman. Um, I mean, you know,
deadlines said maximum. It's possible
that's a red herring. It's possible
they're misinformed.
Um, but I I would be surprised if Wonder
Woman would be appearing at this point
in this way.
>> I don't know. That could be I kind of
like that.
>> I kind of like that, too.
>> I don't hate it. I It would just
surprise me. A Way to Soft Launch, a
spin-off character. Um,
>> yeah, I kind of like that. Also, Adri
Jonah is an actress who is definitely
her stars on the rise. She's had a great
last couple years. Hitman with Glenn
Powell andor she's in the upcoming
Thomas Crown Affair uh reboot with
Michael B. Jordan.
>> MorbiiUs.
>> Morbius, which you could see us do a
live table reading. Maybe maybe I will
play her character in the table reading.
We don't know.
>> Um she was a doctor in that.
>> Yes, she was she was some kind of
doctor.
>> Yes. Uh she's great and everything. Um,
big fan of her work. Um, so yeah. Oo, I
hadn't even thought about Wonder Woman.
I like that. Even if it's not going to
happen, I like that pick. Um, yeah,
great. Uh, also, thank you to everybody
in the chat. Obviously, we're
prioritizing reading the super chats,
but we appreciate everybody being active
in there. I see you Hannah Hannah Basso,
Nick Howie still in there, Dan the Fan,
Christian Unpronouncable, Jason Guy,
Smiley. Thank you all for participating.
We'll be throwing that out. Um again,
what are you of all the potential Warner
Brothers properties that we might learn
about today? What are you most excited
about? Um if you weren't here with us
yesterday, any thoughts on that Sony
panel and the kind of uh things that
were revealed there? Um I am my my
appetite for Brand New Day and Beyond
the Spider-Verse is wetted. Yes,
>> you know what I mean? I'm I'm very
excited for both of Christian
Unpronouncable with the super chat. $2
saying also like the stream everyone
watching. Thank you Christian
Unpronouncable. But that is my job to
say like and subscribe trash bags. Uh it
cost you nothing but it helps us so
much. So please please please like and
subscribe.
>> Yes.
>> Um great. Uh we could also uh
chat about um uh what was your favorite
uh Abby? I don't know if we've had this
conversation on
>> Oh, no.
>> Um, what was your favorite Warner
Brothers release from last year?
>> I also loved Weapons.
>> Yeah,
>> that was I didn't know what to expect. I
had to go see it opening night because
we were covering it. It was like what
maybe my favorite movie of the year, but
I also love Superman.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. So,
>> they had a great year.
>> Yeah. I mean, I I I think for me, one
battle after another blew my mind so
hard. Weapons is a very close second for
me. a very different movie. Um, but I I
just think Zack Kger is such an
interesting horror director right now.
Uh, like Jordan Peele, he has this
comedy background. And I think there's
obviously a ton of overlap in terms of
like setting expectations and then
breaking them, whether that is for the
surprise of a joke or the shock of a
horror beat. Um, and I think he's
managed a Zack Kger has managed a way to
make his movies utterly horrifying while
also fun without like being like kind of
tongue and cheek or winky. And I think
that's a really fine line to walk and he
does it really well.
>> Yes, agreed. Uh, we got a super chat
coming in here.
Uh, Hannah Basso saying, "Did y'all see
the Cineacon popcorn buckets? Which has
been your fave so far? I've seen a video
of them all and I don't know my fave
yet. I think the only ones I've seen I
saw the Masters of the Universe
>> had um
>> I haven't seen any of them yet.
>> Their bucket and their cup. I do love I
believe the it was hard to you know
these these buckets and cups have gotten
so insane you can't really tell what is
what. You know
>> sometimes it could be a bucket. It could
be like a sculptural lawn ornament.
>> Is it a hat? Is it a tunic? I don't
know. But um I believe the bucket was
there was a castle gray skull that
looked pretty sick. And then the cup was
a sword.
>> Oh,
>> it was He-Man's sword that I think you
drink out of one end. I It was hard to
make it out of the image. Yeah, we got
another super chat. Thank you, Hannah
Basso.
>> Change comic saying, "Godzilla minus
Zero trailer is out." Yes, it dropped
just about uh 45 minutes ago.
>> Looks great.
>> So cool. I was telling Berg as I watched
it. So cool to see that Toho logo uh pop
up before it.
>> Uh also, we completed a poll. I asked
everybody, "What's the WB property
you're most excited for?" Their choices
were Animeaniac's Gritty Reboot or
Freakazoid Broadway musical. I have to
say, Ananiac's Gritty Reboot won by a
mile. So, get ready to see Yako, Wacko,
and Dot all with like deep trauma. One
of them probably has like a fentinyl
addiction or something like it's going
to they're living in that water tower,
but it's like a flop house. Uh, it's
going to be great.
>> Yeah. All the things you loved about
Animania.
>> Yeah. Yeah. They're trying to get
through all the countries in the world
and they just keep getting hung up on
France for some reason. Um, okay. We got
another super chat coming in here. Uh,
Sarah Hatchorian. I don't know if it's
already been shown before, but there is
a Supergirl movie poster. Uh, maybe we
can find that on the big screen, Brian.
Um,
if it's out. Well, they've been Is that
the one of like her kind of Oh, got two
of them.
>> I like this.
>> Keeping kind of with like the the lowfi
punk rock blondie theme uh established
in the early early traers and teasers
>> being sold at Revolve Fest.
>> What's this? At what? Can you read that,
Abby? There's a little like at
>> teru
all terarin.
>> Good job.
>> Interesting. Interesting.
>> Interesting. I I do love how like most
content creators um they talk about the
Warner Brothers slate. They're like they
got, you know, here's what they got
coming out. Supergirl. I'm not
interested in that one. And then they go
on and list all the other ones.
>> Yeah. Yeah.
>> I don't know. I mean, whatever. We don't
we don't need to get into the uh the
politics of any of these releases.
>> Here we go. Pat Oswalt is taking the
stage. Uh
>> uh jokingly pitching himself as a DC
villain like Mr. Mix Mix Pitlick or Toy
Maker. James Gunn, I know you've been
getting my texts. Gun has been invoked.
It's only a matter of time before he
shows up in person.
>> I mean, Patton Oswald runs in that Steve
AG circle of uh LA comedians, so it's
like I know he's gone to parties at
James Gun's house. I'm kind of surprised
he hasn't already appeared in
Peacemaker. Um, again, that is a tweet
on the new Rockstar Twitter account that
is uh that is being written by Eric Voss
in the room at Cineacon. Yes, we got
another super chat coming in from Tyler
Makami. Expecting Clayface trailer
public release question mark. Thanks.
Let's do the math here. Clayface comes
out in October.
>> So, we are six months out.
>> Yep.
>> That would not be too far out of line.
When did we get the Supergirl trailer?
That was last year.
>> Yeah, we got into last year.
>> So, that was more than six months ahead
of the release of Supergirl. So, it
wouldn't be it wouldn't be uncalled for
to get a Clayface trailer today. I think
they wanted to probably play in front of
Supergirl, I'm assuming.
>> Yeah. Yeah,
>> maybe in June. Yes. Okay, we got another
super chat coming in. Loi Girl, lore
enthusiast. Thank you again. Cast Mason
Thes's Flash. Just a thought.
>> I saw that Colleen Hoover movie with him
>> and I went on a Saturday night with a
bunch of teenagers. He moved and the
whole theater would erupt just like in
noises.
>> Which movie was this?
>> It was like me.
>> Was this like the one where the parents
are in the car crash?
>> Regretting regretting you. I thought I
was going to say
>> he's of course the live action How to
Train Your Dragon gentleman. Um. Okay.
>> So, if they want like the teen
heartthrob, then I say they go for him
for Flash.
>> I think that would be good.
>> The Black Phone franchise. Uh, sure. Um,
>> he might be busy.
>> He He might be busy. He might say no to
a Flash, maybe. We don't know. Uh, be a
fool of him, but we got another super
chat coming through. Uh,
>> Mike. Mike Azenego. I hope I pronounced
that right. Mike, uh, over under 20%.
Any Aerrowverse actor has cast in DCU?
>> I'm going to say under. I'm going to say
under. I think I think they're trying to
make a clean break.
>> Deep under. No. No Averse. No arrow
verse.
>> Maybe Grant Gustin
>> as as who who is that?
>> Yeah,
>> he's gonna be up against Mason ths.
>> Yeah, maybe. I mean, a lot of people
appeared in that show. I don't think any
of the main characters, but like I'm
sure somebody that had a two episode arc
as a quick villain or something could be
recast in an unrelated.
>> I mean, if Eko didn't come back as Mr.
Terrific, like you know, what are we
doing? What are we doing?
>> Um, also Mike as ango, your uh the
denomination has an R in front of it.
Does that mean it's from Russia?
>> Russia?
>> I don't know. What?
>> I guess Rhode Island.
>> Rwanda. Well, they don't have their own
currency in Rhode Island, right?
>> They might. You don't know about that.
We don't know what they hand out cohog
shells.
>> Nobody's ever been to Rhode Island, so
it would be impossible to confirm.
>> I think that in New Hampshire, like no
one's ever Do you know anyone from New
Hampshire?
>> I I've been to New Hampshire many a
time,
>> but like that is unconfirmed.
>> But did you see people there? Did you
see people?
>> No. Ghost town. Yeah.
>> Uh, okay. So, again, the the Warner
Brothers panel has started. Usually
these panels kind of start with a lot of
preamble. The people from the studio
come out, maybe they talk about industry
stuff. Is this Cineacon is a convention
for theater operators and owners. So,
the guy that owns the AMC or the Cineark
or the Regal in your town or the
regional manager or the head of
marketing at those companies, all of
those people are there. Much like you
would go to an insurance salesman or a
dentist convention or whatever, this is
a convention for those people. It just
happens to be that they are uh pitching
these people on the biggest and best
movies of the year. And occasionally
some uh fine YouTubers are able to sneak
in there and report out what is said.
So, but they often start these panels
with just a lot of like industry jargon.
Yeah. um as they were trying to convince
all these theater owners like hey carry
our movies and also spend money on
marketing and why don't you upgrade your
upgrade your seats and your air
conditioning and your screens and
everything like that so that our two
industries that need to work together uh
can continue to do so
>> true
>> um okay uh Pam Abd and Mike Duke are
coming out on stage according to Hannah
Basso 1938
um oh and there's the s oh just a
membership chat, but still thank you
Hannah Basso for being with us.
>> Also, uh, shout out to Begzy1234
became a YouTube member. Thank you for
your service. Um,
okay. Uh, yep. Brian just saluted you.
It was off camera, but I I am sure you
felt it in wherever you are.
>> Um,
okay. Uh, oh, and then Eric has added
onto the tweet about Pat Oswald hosting.
Uh, seriously, James Gun, take him up on
this. It worked for Jason Mamoa and
Lobo. It should work for Patent and Mr.
Mix Pelix.
>> Also, I don't know how many of you
watched Patton's uh Modoc show that
Stupid Buddy produced. Uh it was weird
but great. It it was it was a delightful
comedic romp through the world of super
villainry, the likes of which we have
not seen uh since Venture Brothers went
off the air.
>> Yeah. Well, so you know, Pen Oswald,
that kind of energy could work in the
Daily Planet newsroom. Yes. Right. Right
beside Beck Bennett and He uh Hector
Gazando and and uh all those all those
folks. Yeah.
>> We've got uh Mike Azenego saying he's
from Brazil. Lol. The currency is called
Rayal.
>> Rayal.
>> We'll believe it when we see it. Mike, I
think you're from Rhode Island.
>> Okay. What?
>> Rhode Island. Often called the Brazil.
>> Brazil of the Northeast. Yeah,
>> shout out Brazil. Um, okay, great. Um,
we could also while while we're here
again, we're going to be streaming uh
today and the next two days and we're
going to be streaming till presumptively
the end of this panel which we'll go a
couple hours. We appreciate everybody
that's watching now or that will be
arriving. Um, tomorrow we've got the
universal panel. Sorry, Brian. Is there
a super chat we need to get to in the
meantime? I was about to
>> superhat interesting question.
>> Oh, go kick it with the interesting
question. Uh well Shri asks uh over
under 20%. They announced whether Reeves
Batman is DCU or not or will they even
touch that?
>> I think James Gunn has already been
pretty clear about Batman occupying its
own almost like an Elseorld's thing
occupying its own corner of the DC
universe and that it's not going to
connect to Batman and the to Superman
and the rest. The thing that's
interesting to me is the trailer for
Lanterns, which I recognize I am alone
in being excited for.
>> No, you're not alone. I'm super excited
for
>> Abby told me the youths are not into it
cuz there's not enough green.
>> That was a hot take from him.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But dummies,
>> but the lantern lanterns does introduce
a tone that is definitely in
conversation with the Superman movie. Um
that may wind up being something that
could be a a sort of bridge between the
two. So, I I don't think Batman is going
to be part of that broader DCU. I think
it's going to exist in its own little
bubble. I'm totally okay with that.
>> When you say the Batman,
>> the Batman,
>> the Batman,
>> there will be a different Batman that
pops up.
>> And and again, James Gunn has said that
they have this Brave and the Bold movie
in development. As far as we know,
there's not an approved script. It
hasn't been green lit or or slated or
anything like that. Maybe that news
comes out here. Uh so, they want to keep
those universities separate. I think
also because James Gun knows the the
math and he's like a Matt Reeves takes a
while to make movies. James Gun has said
as much that he works good but he works
slow. So he doesn't want to wait have to
wait six years or whatever in between
every Batman movie. Also James Gun maybe
wants to have his own take on Batman.
>> I'm sure he does.
>> And and that could be the brave and the
bold. It could be a very different take
than the patent re. So I I'm okay with
there being multiple parallel Batman
movies, you know, like that doesn't that
doesn't confuse me. That doesn't fade.
>> We currently in between 2026 and 2027,
we will have four different
representations of Spider-Man,
>> right? We will have Tom Holland, we will
have a Spider-Verse, we will have Spider
Noir, and we will have your friendly
neighborhood Spider-Man. Oh, five.
Because Spidey and Friends is one of the
most popular kid shows in the universe.
>> Is anybody complaining that there's too
much Spider-Man? We can handle a couple
Batman, especially if they were tonally
and stylistically different.
>> You know, like the only the only problem
anyone's ever had with a Batman is not
that there's too many, it's just that it
sucks, you know, like like when when we
got Affleck Batman, I think everybody
was like, "Oh man, you know, like
>> that that's a take that absolutely zero
people have a problem with." Berg, uh
because I'm pretty sure everybody agrees
that the whole Snider thing is dead and
done and uh was worthless, right?
>> Uh we got another super chat coming in.
Um, we've got Mikey. Cheers. Uh, season
two, Kyle Rainer.
>> What?
>> Mikey, give me more. Give me more.
>> I assume that is a Green Lantern
character. And you were talking about a
season two of Lanterns.
>> Is that correct, Brian? Okay. I don't
know. I'm I'm not I am I am super jazzed
for the Lantern Show. I've not read many
Lanterns comics, so I do not know the
deep.
>> Oh, and we've got a new uh tweet. Warner
Brothers announces a new label,
Clockwork, a new division for original
films for global audience. The first
film under this label, TMO, produced by
Shaun Baker from uh Anora and of course
Florida Project Tangerine, great many
other things will release in 2027. I am
a sucker for Shawn Baker. I have no idea
what this movie is about. I don't care
all.
>> Well, and he's producing it, not writing
or directing it. Interesting. a new
division for original films for global
audiences as opposed to Warner Brothers
that probably makes more box office
globally than they domestically. That's
interesting. But I I wonder if this is
like code for like foreign language
films
>> maybe. Or or specifically like, hey,
we're going to try to target a Chinese
audience, a Bollywood audience, you
know, like a even if this is a movie
that can be enjoyed by everybody, it is
fundamentally being made with a
different segment of the global
population in mind.
>> What was it called? TMO
>> the the TM O
>> oh Clockwork
>> Clockwork
>> Love right um yeah is the name of the
studio yeah that'll be interesting what
that what that means and of course like
these big studios have like labels
underneath them Fox has Fox Searchide
and Disney has Touchstone and all these
kinds of things that usually handle
smaller movies or or different niches.
So this is I guess a new niche they're
covering. We've got a new super chat.
>> We missed this update here.
Oh. Uh, Duca says, uh, WB released 11
films in 2025, plan to release 14 in
2026 and 18 in 2027.
>> Hey, Duca, I'll believe it when I see
it.
>> Well, they are in charge.
>> I don't know. I believe them.
>> They're in charge. I think I think
everybody's trying to like calm the
Paramount jitters. I I I'm taking it.
>> And they are right. Like one of the
biggest complaints from the movie
theaters has been a lack of product,
right? They are not getting enough big
movies from the studios to keep people
coming back every week to movie
theaters. That's why we have to we're
re-releasing Speedraer in the coming
weeks and like Jaws comes out every year
or whatever. They they're they're doing
that. People want to see those movies on
the big screen, but also there's not
enough new movies to fill all the
screens, right? So, I think that is
that's nice that they're saying they are
ramping up production.
>> I love that. It would be so good for the
for the city. We got another super chat
coming in per per Brian's hand. Yuka
Pria Alan Richer Richson Reacher Richson
Reacher my god has been interested in
the role of Kyle Rener I presume. Yes,
>> it seems like a followup to the to the
last one.
>> Or was that Batman?
>> Um he was he was in talks for Batman. I
know. But I don't think anything ever
like conclusive happened with that. And
then he beat up a guy on a motorcycle.
>> Well, that guy did start.
>> That guy did start. That guy but he
finished it.
>> Too big for Batman. # too big for
Batman.
>> TB TBFB. Maybe he looked good in the
Batman costume, but like believable as
Bruce Wayne. Wow, Bruce Wayne is 67 and
290 pounds.
>> Yeah, we got another super chat coming
in here. Uh Frederick Price 5407,
executive producer Frederick Price,
thanks so much for your support over the
years. Uh $20 super chat. Hope to see
you guys Friday in Hollywood. And I hope
Dune and Avengers don't cannibalize each
other on December 18th. As exciting as a
cinematic showdown is, I hope somebody
moves their date, even if Dune is
already pre-sold IMAX.
>> Okay, let's talk about it right now.
Let's assume Dune's Day is happening.
Both those movies are releasing the same
day. Good or bad for humanity. Over
under 20%.
>> I think
I think over good for humanity.
>> Yes. Too much of a good thing.
>> I I think you know what? I I totally
hear the concern about cannibalization
of audiences. I also think like the
hardcore audiences will go see both.
Both of those movies are going to make a
crap ton of money. I love a weekend
where I have so many movies to see that
I have to choose. I I miss so dearly
being at the Ark light, you know, pre-
pandemic and being there for a midnight
showing and having there be like four
big blockbusters coming out the same
night, running into friends in the lobby
and be like, "What are you seeing? What
are you seeing? I'm seeing Hunger Games.
I'm seeing Harry Potter. I'm seeing
Marvel." You know, like I I miss that
energy. It It's really a nice thing to
have in a theater. Um and I hope that we
can get a lot more of this kind of
crosspollination.
>> Yeah.
>> I don't know. I'm stressed about
going to the theater that weekend.
>> Oh, just like parking lots are going to
be slammed.
>> Just like every every theater is going
to be full. I Well, maybe the Avengers
ones. I feel like Dune is like for the
people with like taste.
>> No shade. No shade. I You know what I
mean though? It's just like the like the
locals will all see Avengers and the
fans
>> and me. I'm not You think Zach and I are
going to be showing up with Monles and
Cumberb? I bought the IMAX. It's nine
months out.
>> 70 mm IMAX.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Go to nerd riot.shop. Get
our get our formats t-shirt.
>> I'm hoping.
>> Yeah. Let me real quickly plug this
shirt. So we ju literally this might be
live as of five minutes ago.
Nerdri.shop. We put together this
formats. Uh it's called the aspect ratio
shirt
>> and it's kind of like that Ryan Cougler
video that he made for sinners. This
shows all of the relative sizes of
different screens from IMAX, 70
millimeter, regular IMAX, 70 millimeter
standard, uh, Cinemascope, all of these
just a nice minimalist design. Get that.
Also, we got we got your Spider-Man's,
uh, we got your Mandalorian and Grou.
You can wear all these shirts at the
same time.
>> It's like Joey from Friends. Yeah, you
could put on all of Chandler's clothes
and do a bunch of deep knee lunges.
>> Uh to get back to get back to the
doomsday of it all. I I appreciate both
your points. I think it's like
>> people keep talking about it like Barb
and it isn't like Barbenheimer. Those
are two very different movies, the
>> same audience,
>> different audiences, different
everything. These movies have a lot more
overlap. They're both, you know, similar
genres kind of sci-fi superhero. Um, but
again, like as somebody who's in the
Target demo and is super excited for
both those movies, I mean, I'm just
going to have to carve out time that
weekend to see both. Also, people have
pointed out Barbinheimer was in the
summer, which is also a time people have
vacations and time off, but like these
movies coming out around Christmas when
for movie theaters every day is a
Saturday. Yeah. Right. And like you can
go see this, you'll be off school or out
of work or whatever on the 22nd, on the
23rd, on the 24th, on the whatever.
Right. Like people will be seeing this
over the three weeks after. Um, and I
think like these movies are both big
enough and hopefully will be good enough
that like yeah, everybody will just find
time to see it. And like who cares if
it's they if each of them moved one week
in any direction. I don't know if that
makes a big difference. I
>> I mean I saw a Dune part two in theaters
twice. That's to me that's the same as
going to see one and then and then a
Doomsday. Oh, we got another super chat.
I'm seeing Brian's hand raised back
there. Marvel Pirate $5. Thank you for
your donation, Marvel Pirate. This is a
creepy. Can you see
>> this creepy little icon?
>> Scary face.
>> Terrifying. Marvel pirate. What's going
on there? Uh, we got another We got
another one coming up here.
>> Uh, would you rather Mikey Cheers? $2
donation. Would you rather Johnny Quest
or Mighty Max live action?
>> Uh,
>> oh, I was a Johnny Quest kid for sure.
>> Fair. I'm I'm not that familiar with
either of those franch.
>> No, I think Mighty Max was a tiny guy,
right? Yeah, that's
>> Mikey Mouse, which is
>> like like Thumbelina meets G.I. Joe. Is
that Is that accurate or um uh Mikey?
Cheers. I I love your wavelength. You're
asking about relatively obscure Green
Lantern characters. You're bringing up
Mighty Max live action. Um you're
playing by your own rules.
>> Is he the Averse one?
>> Yeah, you might have been might have
been bringing up Arowverse stuff
repeatedly. Um more power to you. Uh we
got some more super chats coming
through. Uh Porcelain Tank, that's a
name right there. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, I
really wanted Patson as the DCU Batman
till I found out that Paul Anthony
Kelly, JFK Jr. and Love Story existed.
>> That's a good one.
>> So, you're saying, have you been
watching the Love Story? Okay.
>> Does he play JFK Jr. or Carolyn bet?
>> JFK Jr.
>> I can't read.
>> Porcelain Tang said that. Um, he's good.
Um, I don't know how I feel about Patson
not being I'm okay with him over there.
>> Yeah. Well, how do you feel about about
Paul Anthony Kelly if he was like the
main DCU Batman like James Gun?
>> I would have to I'm still confused on
what kind of Batman James Gunn is gonna
do.
>> And and I will say James Gunn over his
career has shown a preference for maybe
plucking actors that are lesser known,
smaller names, maybe have been doing
more TV work or haven't been the stars
of big franchises. So, like, might make
sense to pull somebody from a popular TV
series that hasn't done a bunch of big
movies. Uh,
>> oh, we've got a Clayface update.
>> Okay.
>> Clayface footage appears in the opening
Warner Brothers montage. There's a red
title card in one shot. Tom Ree Harry's
as actor at actor Matt Hagen. Clayface
smiling on a red carpet. A fuller
trailer is likely coming soon.
>> I like the concept of Eric putting the
eye emoji in. You know, it's so funny
because as an elder millennial, I
finding an emoji always takes so long. I
just get frustrated and hit send without
it. I can't do it unless I'm texting
with my daughter, in which case I have
to do it.
>> I I do like that we're seeing like in
universe the Matt Hagen character on a
red carpet, right? Kind of confirming
he's playing an actor, right? Like maybe
an actor who's he's found some success.
>> That's interesting. Um yeah, we got
another super chat coming in.
Uh, oh, our Brazilian friend,
>> our Brazilian buddy Mike Azenego.
>> Uh, yesterday someone asked about Two
Gun Kid. Do you think there will ever be
a good Jonah Hex movie or any other
superhero western well-made?
>> When does a good Jonah Hex movie exists?
I don't know what they're talking about.
>> Well, oh, so you're you're you're
standing for the Josh Berlin Jenna Hex.
>> I I think
>> and we were talking about people with
good taste two. I I would say Logan is
not explicitly a western, but has very
western themes. Uh, you know, um I I
think that we will get a good superhero
western movie made. The the western I
want to see, and maybe this falls into
the superhero thing, is there's an album
called Death Western by a band called
Spirit World that is a heavy metal
exploration of some kind of demon
exploding in the West. Make that movie.
That's the movie I want to see. That's
the movie I want to see. Not really a
comic book, but
>> No, it's
my point.
>> Concept album. Okay.
>> Um Okay, Brian, we got another super
chat coming in. Uh BJ Wilfries, $5 over
under 20%. Do you think this Thursday uh
Disney panel they will do another chair
reveal for Doomsday? Oh, that's a great
question. I mean, if if Eric and Jessica
walk into that conference hall on
Thursday and there's a whole [ __ ] ton of
chairs set up on stage and just one by
one Kevin Feige flips them around
>> or or how about they got the same 54 or
whatever, however many chairs there were
laid out and each actor comes out in the
chair. I mean, what a flex. Uh, I like
that over under. I think like chairs
might get incorporated. I I you know
without getting too specific about it I
like
>> there will be chairs in the room. We
could guarantee that on over
>> Doomsday should embrace the chairs more.
I feel like they did that and it was
iconic and then they dropped it.
>> Well, I mean there's still time.
>> No, I know. But it's like they could
have done that with like Chris Evans
officially in it. Yeah.
>> Like that would have been fun
>> if they had just had instead of their
countdown clock a YouTube thing that was
just a a chair that has was yet to be
flipped around. Yeah,
>> people would be watching that. Um, okay,
we got another uh super chat here. Uh,
Supberg from Marvel Pirate. Sup, Marvel
Pirate. You get it, my dude.
>> Just wanted to show you his creepy
avatar face again.
>> Another $2. It was a project from AP
Ceramics. Well, sir, I hope that you got
college credit for that uh creepy doll.
You
>> They're offering advanced placement
ceramics now.
>> Yeah, look at the project. Clearly
deserved. Much deserved.
>> Wow. Looks like something out of like a
nightmare James Juan.
>> I mean, why was I busy taking like
algebra and like English and [ __ ] like
that in high school? I would have just
been taking AP ceramics. Damn.
>> Uh, more super chats coming through the
pipeline. Thank you everybody.
>> Mafip nine. Mafi P I over under 20%.
Thank you for adhering to the template.
Uh, we get an Elseworld title announced
and if you could pitch one to Gun, what
would it be? I like where your head's
at.
>> Superman Red Sun. That's the else world
I want. Superman Red Son, you get Batman
and the little hat with the flaps.
That's the best one. Absolutely.
>> Okay. I I wonder if maybe that's the
Batman route rather than sparking
confusion about like we've got I guess
like the Batman is already kind of an
Elseorld. Yeah.
>> But like what if you did like Wild West
Batman
>> or something like that?
>> I'd love that.
>> You know,
>> kind of like uh what was the show with
um Bruce Campbell at Adventures of
Brisco County Jr. where we always had a
bunch of gadgets that with Batman that's
that goes him and John Aston
>> maybe maybe that's how James Gun tackles
Joker we already have a rich history of
elsewhere Jokers
>> maybe
>> absolute Batman we're getting some
pictures
>> but I like I like where your head's at
if that could be the next project
because again we we don't know what is
coming for DC after Man of Tomorrow next
year they might even have another movie
next year we we don't know yet so like
if we got some kind of announcement like
that that would be really Cool.
>> To me, the Elseworld thing has always
felt like he's like planning on doing
it. But that's just mostly so that he
can like people can do Batman 2 and not
throw a fit.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But also that's great,
you know, like I I think I think the
Elseorld's approach is something that
Marvel kind of dipped a toe into with uh
What If? Uh, you know, and then like
sort of like What If wound up becoming
like too kind of convoluted over the
course of three seasons instead of just
like spin-off things, but Marvel Zombies
and X-Men 97 I think are great example
of Marvel Elseorld properties, you know,
that are just Elseorlds by different
names. Yeah, I think they could do more
of that. You know, like Daredevil Born
Again is maybe kind of becoming that.
It's not super connected to everything
else.
>> You know, maybe DC uses animation
>> to kind of satisfy that too. If this
dynamic duo animated film is still going
to happen, maybe that is an Elseorld
that does not, you know, coincide with
the Corn Sweat DCU. Um I I like that
potential. Um okay, still no Tom Cruz on
stage. You think his parachute is
>> worlds movie? Averse.
already exists.
>> No, but like make it a movie. Like the
cross like the crisis on infinite earths
again, but a movie.
>> I know at least one ticket buyer that is
ready.
>> Yeah.
>> Yes.
>> I'm not even making fun of the
arrowverse person in the chat. I'm
serious.
>> Okay,
>> I know you're serious.
>> We got another super chat coming in.
Brian
>> um Jared LT78 over under. Thank you for
your adherence to the format. Do you
think on Thursday's MGM uh show we get a
trailer or stills of Voltron?
>> I mean, that would that would drive a a
certain age of nerd
would go gaga for that. I mean, for
because for those of us who are like I'm
just a little too young to remember
Voltron fully, but like I know it
inspired
uh Transformers and Power Rangers
>> and there's been is it Voltron Voltron
Rising? What is the animated series?
Yeah, Voltron Rising. It's been on
Netflix, I believe, over the last couple
years.
>> That's Voltron,
>> I guess. Is there is there a live action
Voltron?
>> I've not heard about it, but that
doesn't mean it's not happening.
>> Um,
>> we got another super chat coming in. Uh,
[ __ ] Mary Kill. Papa Smurf Snap of the
Rice Krispies. But Buddy, I'm presuming
Buddy the Elf from
>> No, that's there's like a serial one.
>> There's a serial Buddy. I'm like pretty
sure from like
>> But Papa Smurf's not a serial guy.
>> He's like on um Isn't there like a
>> another one? No coming out.
>> Oh, is it just elves?
>> I'm I'm going to say this.
>> Oh, are these three elves?
>> I'm going to say this. If if Buddy is in
there, you got to marry Buddy. He's just
He's just too much fun.
>> Will Frell?
>> Yeah. I I think you [ __ ] Snap cuz he's
going to be like a lot of trouble. Like,
you know, like fun for a little bit, but
you don't want to like tie your life to
him. You kill Papa Smurf. He's just
going to be all rules. He's like the
patriarch of a society. There's too much
baggage there. That's my That's my
That's my [ __ ] kill.
>> I mean, there's only one correct answer
here. First off, Buddy is the only
humanoid in this group. Okay. Who's also
not animated and is human size? Okay.
How do you have sex with something this
big? All right.
>> I'm just saying.
>> So, you have sex with Buddy. Obvious.
Um, I would kill Snap only because he's
not a fully formed character. He doesn't
have like multiple seasons of like
storyline and arcs and stuff like that.
So, it's like I wouldn't feel as bad.
And then I marry Papa Smurf, who, you
know, could take good care of me
probably.
>> Well, we know Buddy has sex cuz he has a
baby.
>> That's right.
>> Yeah.
>> So, just saying.
>> Canon. It's Canon.
>> I think you could build a life with
Buddy.
>> It's Canon that Buddy F buddy [ __ ]
>> Buddy [ __ ]
>> Buddy [ __ ]
>> The spirit of Christmas.
>> By Woodchuck. Buddy [ __ ]
>> Okay, we got another. Does he know
coming in?
>> Uh Sarah Hatchory and $5 super chat. I
think we need to discuss the photos of
the dog playing Airbud in the 2026 movie
being uh shown at Cineacon. The pics are
so cute.
>> I would love to see them.
>> We'll see if we can pull them up. I will
say I did watch John Oliver's multiple
segments on this new uh Airbud movie. It
seems like it might be a money
laundering scheme or something like
that. Uh but I bet the dog is adorable.
There's two Airbuds. Why is it a money
laundering?
>> Cuz they announced the movie before they
had the dog cast and then after they
cast the dog, they asked to help raise
money. Yeah. Look at this air bud.
That's a good boy. Oh, he's got the
sneakers on. That's pretty cute.
>> Okay. He looks cute.
>> Which one? What?
>> One of the two.
>> You know, one of the two.
>> Our theaters used to be filled with
movies starring animals.
>> Yes.
>> Okay. Your Homeward Bounds, your
Airbuds,
>> any which way but loose,
>> your Dunston checks in. I mean,
>> the hotel for dogs. Hotel for dogs. Snow
dogs. Real non CGI animals used
Marmaduke used to be stars in this
country.
>> Hotel for dogs has one of the best Don
Cheeto monologues he's given in his
whole career.
>> Beverly was Beverly Hills Chihuahua one.
>> Theatrical.
>> That was theatrical. That was
theatrical.
>> Yes. When was the when was the last non
CGI?
>> Oh, we got uh uh New Rockstars tweet.
Godzilla X Kong Supernova will be the
next film in the Godzilla Kong franchise
at Warner Brothers coming in 2027.
>> Yep.
>> Um and this is in canon with Monarch
that's happening on Apple TV
>> and all the Godzilla Kong uh films that
have come before not Godzillaus one or
minus Z which are happening concurrently
the Japanese produced films. These are
the American produced ones. Yes, we got
another super chat coming through.
>> Imagine Barbie movie too. Imagine would
love to be great.
>> No complaints.
>> Uh you know what we will not be seeing
at Cineacon is anything about Greta
Gerwig's Narnia movie.
>> Yes, it will theatrical release, but
it's a Netflix thing.
>> It is being made by Netflix. It will be
released for limited I think two weeks
in IMAX theaters only in IMAX theaters.
Um and then it will be on Netflix. But
because Netflix doesn't do theatrical
releases, they do not have a presence at
>> now. Hang on. I'm seeing a Man of
Tomorrow tweet we missed. Uh, James Gun,
Nicholas Hol, and David Corinswe appear
in a video montage to plug 2027's Man of
Tomorrow. Nicholas Hol saying, "Man of
Tomorrow continues the Superman saga
with a new villain and an unlikely
alliance."
>> Is it that unlikely though
>> that Lex and Superman would join up?
That feels pretty unlikely based on the
events of the first.
>> It's not unlikely in the sense of like
that's we already know that's the vibe.
>> Yes. Oh, well, like from the
announcement and the posters and stuff.
Yes. But I think it's unlikely in the
sense of like he watched this man
execute a hot dog vendor in front of him
and now they're going to join up, you
know? But I guess it's it's not a
dissimilar arc from Thor and Loki,
>> you know what I mean? Who like the
events of Avengers, right? How could you
ever reconcile with this man?
>> And all of a sudden, here you are in
Dark World busting him out of jail.
>> That's right. Uh, more super chats
coming through, Brian.
>> Oh, a news. Oh, new tweet tweet. Oh,
Lord of the Rings, the hunt for Gollum
shows a brief preview scene at Cineacon
using footage of Gollum from the
Fellowship prologue and new audio from
Andy Circus as Gollum whispering to the
one ring. It is a tale that must never
be told. Coming December 2027.
>> Well, if it's a tale that must never be
told, don't make it.
>> You probably shouldn't watch it. Yeah.
Seems bad.
>> That seems problematic.
>> Yeah,
>> we were we were just talking earlier
today. Um, it's been a few years since
the live action Hobbit films. Uh, which,
you know, I think they're kind of little
loved, but those movies made so much
money.
>> Each of them made like a billion
dollars.
>> And so, it makes sense. It's kind of
wild that we've gone this long without
more live action uh Lord of the Rings
stuff. Obviously, there is the Rings of
Power uh on streaming, but um yeah, and
I think interesting to kind of pass the
torch to let Indie Circus direct this
film uh in addition to doing mocap for
Gollum. Uh we got another super chat
coming through. Um Scarlet Hec saying,
"Any crazy theories on future plot lines
of DCU?"
>> I mean, who am I to try to outguess
James Gunn? Oh, we got another tweet
here. Uh Tom Cruz and Alejandra Anditu
get a standing ovation at Cineacon as
they introduce their 2026 movie Digger.
>> The movie is not even out yet and
they're getting standing ovations.
>> Well, Tom Cruz saved theaters and that's
that's a mild hyperbole, but it's also
kind of true. His insistence on Top Gun
Maverick going to theaters and not going
to streaming was huge coming out of the
pandemic. Obviously, he's been a giant
theatrical movie star, never done TV or
streaming. Is that true? True. Never.
>> And there's not a lot of people you can
say that about in uh the year of our
lord 2026. My god. Um to go back to
Scarlett Hex. I don't have any crazy
theories right now.
>> I mean, you know, it's like I would love
to see something like Kingdom Come, you
know, just cuz that's like such a good
it's such a good story and such a good
book. But I don't know if that counts as
a crazy theory cuz it's like a
well-known kind of like sad but like you
know like a little bit of a downbeat
everybody coming together for something.
Um but that would be that would be my
crazy thing. We got a hand up from Brian
uh Jared LT Jared Leto78 $5 super chat.
Thank you Jared Leto for tuning in.
We're going to roast you during MorbiiUs
on Friday at UCB. Buy your tickets with
the link in the chat.
>> It's all love.
>> Henry Caval and Sterling K. Brown are
both in liveaction Voltron movie,
presumably playing one fist and one foot
each.
>> We cast you as right thigh.
>> I love Sterling K. Brown, uh, super
talented actor. You know, Henry Caval
has interesting taste in projects.
>> He I think he's very charming. I think
he's problematic in his life offcreen.
>> Well, difficult to reconcile the two.
you're uh the world's biggest Inola
Holmes fan
>> and I know you are on Pins and Needles
for this Warhammer film that he's been
working on for quite a while. So, um
yeah, interesting. He's also done a lot
with MGM Amazon, which makes sense. I
believe that's who's producing the
Highlander film. Uh he is playing the
Highlander. Uh that reboot that is
coming out next year, I believe, as
well. So, it kind of makes sense that
they would get him in there. We got more
super chats in the pipe. Uh, Elijah
Pericone, all this over under 20% is
taking me back to the tiny forehead
kisses and our joke.
>> I mean, Kingpin's back in the zeitgeist
now. We can bring it back. How many tiny
kisses do we think Kingpin is going to
give out to Daredevil and and Bullseye
before the end of season two?
>> Did we get a tiny kiss on Vanessa's
forehead in the last episode?
>> Uh, I bet I bet there is a tiny kiss. I
I wasn't paying attention.
>> Speaking of Daredevil, which is not a
theatrical release, they were not going
to be talking about it in cinema. Uh but
the Daredevil episode five
>> airs tonight
>> and our breakdown will be getting
uploaded uh immediately after tonight.
Eric Voss uh has figured out the ways to
bend space and time. And though he is in
Las Vegas watching this panel, he is
also making a Daredevil Born Dead
episode 5 breakdown that will be
uploaded at the same time all the other
ones have been uploaded.
>> Um,
>> so when you're done here, watch
>> Go watch Go watch Daredevil
>> episode five breakdown.
>> Yes.
>> Uh, Aeronda Alejandro Initu saying he
shot Digger in Vista Vision.
>> Where's that on your fancy shirt? I
don't we actually debated whether we
should include Vista Vision and I told
the designers don't do that. It was just
a silly gimmick that Paul Thomas
Anderson did uh for one battle after
another. Nobody else is ever going to
use Vista Vision.
>> So funny.
>> Wow.
>> The story behind Vista Vision is
fascinating. So um it is a an anarchctic
kind or archaic uh film format that they
used in like the 60s.
>> It was part of the Curama was Vista
Vision, right? that was in Vista and
like there was only a couple screens
ever designed for Vista Vision and a
couple cameras. Paul Thomas Anderson
because he's this like lover of film
history. He wanted to shoot it in this
format. They had to like no new Vista
Vision cameras have been made in like 40
years. They had to go find the old
cameras and like tune them up to be able
to shoot that movie. So somehow maybe
Inaritu got his hands on those after
Paul Thomas
>> like I give the camera to you.
>> Yeah. Got more super chats coming
through.
Uh just announced Godzilla Minus at
Paramount. Yes, that actually um
>> the trailer came out.
>> Trailer came out before we started
streaming. Yeah, Godzilla minus Zero,
which we were talking about the logic of
the naming conventions here.
>> First movie Godzillaus one makes sense.
>> Great.
>> Then you go, you have to add a number.
So you go to Godzilla minus 0. But minus
0 is kind of unnecessary, right?
Shouldn't it just be Godzilla Zero?
>> We've got more uh Digger news. Seems
like they're really focusing a lot on
Digger, which goes to the WB doing a new
new properties uh trip. Alejandro
Eneritu says he started thinking about
the idea of Digger in 2017 and then
began talking to Tom Cruz in 2019 while
Cruz was shooting Top Gun Maverick.
Eneritu calls Cruz's character Digger
Rockwell fearless. This role could be
the most challenging for Cruz, and Cruz
called it a highwire act, even for a
stuntforward actor like him. Is this
going to be the Tom Cruz snuff film he
is determined to make?
>> Well, they've already filmed it and he
didn't die. So,
>> yeah. Yeah. So, I guess not. Yeah, it's
there.
>> Or or is this the Tom Cruz Oscar
project? Right. Tom Cruz has been given
an honorary Oscar. Uh he has never won
an an acting Oscar. Uh, Inoritu got Leo
his long delayed first Oscar for the
Revenant. Um, he didn't, uh, Michael
King got nominated for Birdman, didn't
end up winning. Uh, Into has done those
movies in addition to Babel. Um, most
recently he did Bardo, a Netflix movie
nobody watched.
>> Birdman was was also right before
Revenant, right? Didn't Birdman and
Revenant come out one year after the
other?
>> Yes, they did. 2014, 2015. Good call.
Uh, so really talented director. This is
different. Uh Tom Cruz has not made a
non Top Gun non-m mission Impossible
movie in quite a while.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Um so this is
>> good.
>> Interesting.
>> I'm going to make a movie right now
called Berg Runs to the restroom as fast
as he can and comes back without missing
news. I shall return. Yes. Good luck.
>> I shall return in the sequel Berg Makes
it back from the restroom.
>> The last the last non-m mission
Impossible Top Gun movie that Tom Cruz
made was in 2017 American Made. right
before the same year he made The Mummy.
Uh ironic that next week we're getting a
new Mummy movie that won't be starring
Tom Cruz
>> and has not came with that one. We'll
get Lee Cronin's The Mummy. Uh also next
year I think we're getting Rachel Weiss
and um
>> Yes.
>> and
>> Mummy 4.
>> Yeah. And Brandon Frasier coming back
for that franchise. Unrelated to Lee
Cronin's Mummy. Anybody can make a movie
and call it The Mummy. Yeah, we got more
super chats coming through. Uh, Colton
Nielsen
living for Aby's energy. Restore the
Aeroverse.
>> You've you've carved out a niche fandom
there Abby but
>> we exist. You can't silence us.
>> Uh, okay. We got some more super chats.
Thank you all. Uh, Marvel Pirate, our
our ceramics friend, what allows studios
to release IMAX tickets early? Do we
think that Dune released IMAX tickets
before this on purpose? Yes. So famously
last year the iMac 70 millimeter tickets
for Christopher Nolan's the Odyssey sold
out in 10 minutes or whatever. There's a
very limited number of IMAX 70
millimeter screens in this country in
the world I guess. And uh IMAX is this
interesting company where they license
their technology both to movie studios
and then they manufacture film making uh
technology cameras and things like that
that filmmakers use. And so like they
don't technically own any theaters,
right? Um Regal and and AMC and Cinemark
and all these places, they they kind of
license the ability to have IMAX
projectors and things like that. So um
that is but but they have kind of these
special arrangements. So like you didn't
buy an IMAX ticket through the IMAX
website or whatever, right? Like the
studios work with the um the theater
owners to sell these special tickets
ahead of time. It's just a promotional
stunt, you know, and it kind of appeals
to the most hardcore fans that want to
see their certain
>> uh film format. Um, but it is I think
you're absolutely right. It is kind of
just I think it's just a stunt to get
your movie that is way ahead of time.
Typically movie tickets don't go on sale
till 30 days out from when the the uh
film releases, but you can sell them
whenever.
>> Yeah.
>> Right. They usually kind of wait because
they want to um really saturate their
marketing budget in a narrow window to
really get everybody because most people
don't want to buy a movie ticket for 6
months from now. We don't even know if
we're going to be standing. No, at that
time or if the world will exist or
whatever. Uh it's a very limited subset
of people. Uh so that's why they
typically don't, but there's nothing
stopping them from doing that. Yes, we
got more super chats coming in. Thank
you for that question, Marvel Pirate.
>> Oh, we do, but we got a tweet update.
>> We got a new tweet.
Cast for Digger includes Tom Cruz, John
Goodman, Jesse Plemens, Ree Aamemed, and
Sandra Huller.
>> A stacked cast.
>> That is a stacked cast.
>> I love Rezmed, man. I'm such a fan.
>> That all those names are excellent.
Sandra Huller uh of course recently seen
in Project Hail Mary.
>> Yes.
>> And and had that great year like two
years ago with Zone of Interest and
Anatomy of a Fall. Super talented German
actress. Um John Goodman, Jesse Clemens,
Ramemed. Killers, killers. More super
chats. Bryant
>> over under 20% Lex Luthther gets
pregnant with Connor Super Boy at the
end of at the end of Man of Tomorrow.
>> So almost like a Man of Tomorrow Jr.
crossover. Junior being the Thomas
Arnold Schwarzenegger movie
>> pregnant
>> and and and maybe like the movie ends
with like Lex looking at the camera
being like speaking of man of tomorrow.
>> I'm going to say under 20%. under 20.
>> As much as I do think the over makes for
a really interesting third
>> ad. Thank you, Lonely Guacamole. You're
currently leader in the clubhouse for
and it's stiff competition for craziest
super chat. Um, but again, it is
competitive right now.
>> Who has the highest one?
>> Uh, I think that's still our friend
Frederick Price with the $20 super chat.
I drink a bureau in your name as of now,
Frederick.
>> We got a poster for Hunt for Gollum.
>> Okay. Ian Ian Mckllen coming back as
Gandalf. Kate Winslett as Maragle. Jamie
Dornan as Strider. Aragorn for the
uninitiated. Leo Woodall as Halver. Lee
Pace as Thandil. Okay. And Elijah Wood
is a little known character named Frodo
Baggins.
>> Am I incorrect? Has Lee Pace already
played an elf in one of these movies?
>> He has elf. He has Lord of the Rings. He
was he was I think he might have been a
dark elf in like the first Guardians of
the Galaxy.
>> Well, he was he was Ronin the Accuser in
Guardians of the Galaxy. But hasn't he
been in Lord of the Rings? Am I just
confusing the thousand other things that
Lee Pace has done?
>> Someone else was Aragorn.
>> I think that is who that
is who he is.
>> Oh, it is.
>> He has played that role before. Okay. Um
Yes. Okay. And now Yeah.
>> He was in The Hobbit. Yeah.
>> Yes. He was in the Hobbit films. Okay.
Um, which so this movie's timeline is
before the events of Lord of the Rings,
right? It's in between The Hobbit and
Lord of the Rings, I believe, is where
this is set. So, it makes sense that
somebody like, um, uh, Ian Mckllen or
Lee Pace would be playing their same
character from either of those
franchises. Wizards Live for like a
thousand years in Middle Earth, right?
So um
>> knock on wood, Ian Mckllen, national
international treasure. Uh, hopefully we
get 20 more years of him making films.
So good.
>> Isn't it funny that he's like, at least
to me, known for these like old man
roles and he's been doing them for like
the 30 years.
>> He's been old for Yeah. 25 years.
>> He's been he's been old for my entire
life. There's a certain subset of actor,
Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duval, um uh you
know, Gene Hackman that you you see
movies they made in the 70s, they were
already old.
>> Yeah. 60 years ago, they were old. Um
Yeah. They don't they don't make them
like that anymore. Now everybody looks
young forever. We got uh Nick Howy uh
2275 uh $5 Kiwi uh super chat hunt forg
cast announcement trailer out via
Fandango. And we've got to hear during
this poster, but thank you just the same
for the hands up.
>> Are they shooting it down in your neck
of the woods, Nick Hley?
>> It must be his backyard actually.
>> All right, we got a hand up from Brian.
New super chat incoming. Uh Eric
Hendershot 9802 $5 super chat. Uh they
will not mention Voltron at Cineacon.
Amazon already announced it will stream
on Prime Only. Cineacon only for
theatrical release.
>> You're bringing facts. You're bringing
valuable information, Eric Hendershot,
uh that we were not bringing, mostly
because I hadn't heard about that film
at all. Makes sense now. It is not
getting a theatrical release. Amazon,
right?
>> Amazon bought MGM Studios a number of
years ago. Um they've kind of, you know,
been hit or miss. They've they've put
out movies in theaters like uh Project
Hail Mary recently has been kind of
their biggest hit. They've had less
success. They also put out the Melania
documentary. They put out Red One, some
other stuff. They've, you know, famously
some movies that the creators thought
were going to get to go to theaters like
the um Roadhouse reboot which Gyllenhaal
they did not put in theaters. They only
put that on Prime. So like hopefully
they are going to continue to make a
commitment to theatrical releases.
There's some speculation in their panel
at Cineacon which is tomorrow I believe.
>> Yes,
>> we might get it. James Bond news.
Amy Pascal's working on it. You know
what I mean? Denville Noov working on it
>> maybe.
>> We don't know who's in it. We
>> We are getting some James Bond the
ending of 007 First Light, the upcoming
James Bond single player action
adventure game for consoles. Uh leaked
via ratings board submission earlier
this week. So there is there's Bond in
the air. We will not have to wait long
for new Bond. It's been one of the
larger gaps between Bond movies, the
current one we are experiencing. Um, so
I'm I'm excited to see where that
franchise goes. Also, Denise can do no
wrong. I'm kind of sad we're losing him
for sci-fi epics and maybe original
films. I know,
>> but I'm excited to see what he does with
Bond.
>> Also, maybe he makes James Bond a sci-fi
epic. Maybe it's like Bond versus an
alien, you know? Like,
>> yeah. Yeah, it could be Moonreaker. What
if he just does Moonraaker?
>> What if it's just Bond is on Arachus?
Yes. Love that. Love that. Sandy Bond.
>> Give me that Sandy Bond.
>> Put Bond in a still suit, but the still
suit has gadgets.
>> Oh yeah. And he's [ __ ] Come on, dude.
>> Infiltrating the Hearkinins. Yeah, it's
great.
>> Um, as the prophecy foretold. Um, okay.
Uh, so yeah, we are we are uh patiently
refreshing here as we get more and more
news coming out about Warner Brothers
properties. In theory, this panel ends
at 6 PM. Is that correct? Or 6:30.
>> Yeah. And I don't know how much they
have a heart out. So, obviously, they're
they're holding DC. That might be their
big capper at the end. DC and Dune are
probably going to be their big uh tent
polls here that they're going to
announce at the end. Yeah, we got more
super chats coming in. Bryant.
>> Uh Matthew Pete, uh $201 just to get the
bureau shout out.
>> It's yours,
>> my man.
>> It's yours, Matthew.
>> Matthew Pete. Now, who has $202?
>> Yeah, I know.
>> Or $21.
>> All right, another super chat coming up
here. Uh Peezy, uh Two Bucks, just want
to say hi. Big fan. Love the channel.
Hey, thank you so much. These these
direct these direct super chats uh mean
a lot to us.
>> Pey, thanks for watching. Thanks for
Thanks everybody for being here,
watching this with us. I know like
conceptually watching a group of people
slowly read tweets uh from their
coworker who's at a more interesting
event, you know, on paper I understand
that's not killer content. Okay. But
because of you guys, because of you
guys, because of Brian here, it is fun.
We're making it happen.
>> We're having fun.
>> We got another super chat here uh from
Marvel Pirate. $2 super chat. That
creepy goddamn thing again. Uh so IMAX
is growing control over release
thoughts.
>> Yeah. So this is there's been some good
writing in the Hollywood Reporter and
some other industry trades recently
about so over the LA a big trend over
the last 10 years has been the growing
importance of PLF premium large formats
over the theatrical experience. Right?
Average ticket prices have gone up a lot
over the last 10 years. And a big part
of that is a higher percentage of
tickets are people paying extra to go
see things in IMAX uh 4DX.
>> Real quick, hold that thought. We got a
Digger trailer revealed at Cineacon with
a description by Eric Voss. The film
tells the story of Digger Rockwell. Tom
Cruz, an oil baron who's drilling on the
ice shelf of Greenland causes the
breaking of massive icebergs that
threaten billions of lives worldwide.
John Goodman plays the US president who
tasks Roswell Rockwell to fix the crisis
that escalates into a global nuclear
war. The film looks incredible. Think
Dr. Strange Love meets Birdman meets
Don't Look Up meets the death of Stalin.
I love Death of Stalin. Already it looks
like this year's one battle after
another. The production design is
surrealistic and hilarious and
terrifying. Cruz is under heavy
prosthetics but gives gives a
performance reminiscent of Tropic
Thunder LFG, which must stand for little
fat guy. Ah, which Tom Cruz might be
playing in this movie.
>> Um, a heavily prosthetics Tom Cruz
playing a maniac billionaire who has to
save the world.
>> I'm all for it.
>> Wild wild.
>> I don't think it needs a trailer. I
think we're in.
>> We're in. We got another update here.
Now they're coming in fast. So, what
happened with Sony yesterday? They start
coming in fast towards the end. The end
of Oak Street footage shown at Cineacon.
An expanded version of the amazing
trailer that dropped online in late
March. New shots include a T-Rex chasing
the family across suburban front lawn.
>> And this is an original film. We don't
really know anything about the plot
other than what we've seen in trailers.
It's kind of being uh closely guarded.
Uh very exciting. Um uh starring Anne
Heatherway, Yan McGregor from um the
director of It Follows, David Robert
Mitchell. Uh so he can do kind of creepy
>> It follows was great. Yeah. Uh I really
disliked Under the Silver Lake, the
Andrew Garfield movie he made after
that, but that's my personal preference.
Um excited for this. Uh so back to PLFS,
right? And so as uh it's become
increasingly important for movies to get
as many of those PLF screens because
that kind of boosts their box office.
Also, there's the thinking that like
sometimes people it might push people
over the edge. They weren't considering
going to a movie, but oh, it's playing
an IMAX. That'll be a fun experience.
>> 25 bucks for a regular movie ticket? No.
30 bucks for an IMAX ticket? Yes. Uh, so
there's a lot of jockeying there, but
IMAX a gives preference to films that
were shot in IMAX. Dune 3 was shot in
IMAX. Christopher Nolan's Odyssey was
shot entirely, I believe, in 70
millimeter IMAX. And there's all kinds
of things you can adopt. You can adapt a
movie that was not shot in IMAX to play
IMAX, but obviously it hits a little
different if they were using IMAX
cameras and it's IMAX things. So, all
this is to say, yeah, it's a weird
negotiating tactic these movies use.
Famously, because Denuv used IMAX
cameras to shoot Dune, IMAX was like,
"Yeah, you can have all the IMAX screens
for your release." And then Avengers
Doom Day was like, "Hey, it's us, the
little guy in the corner that's making
one of the biggest movies ever. Can we
have some IMAX screens?" And they're
like, "No, you cannot. You did not use
our cameras. Uh, and we've already
promised them to this guy over here."
So, um, Avengers Zoom Day for at least
the first two weeks of its release will
not be an iMac screens. Now, you could
probably see it in 4DX or all the other
PL.
>> Yeah, you you'll be able to see it on a
big screen.
>> Dolby, Laser, all the whatever. And
also, the other thing too is um, all the
cinema chains resent IMAX because it has
become a bigger brand than they have and
they feel and they don't get to keep all
of the money, right? they have to pay
kind of residuals to and so they are all
trying to develop their own PLF brands
concurrent. And so that's why like our
local AMC, you walk in there and uh
there's an IMAX over here and then
there's a Dolby over here and AMC would
probably prefer you go see the Dolby uh
where they get to keep all the money.
Yeah.
>> Uh we're getting um
>> and they just added that Screen X.
>> Screen X.
>> Is that the new
>> that's been around for a minute? Yeah.
But that you mean here at our local
theater? Yes. Yeah,
>> I see you, Jay. Izzy, sorry. We've been
having a lot of a lot of stuff going on
here, Brian. I got a uh another hand up
back there. What's up? What's up next on
the ninja stream? Ninja super chat from
Sarah Hatchadorian. Sue
for the bureau. Are you counting super
chat totals if people sent in multiple
over the week?
>> Yes. Yes. I'll I'll I'll go through the
logs and I'll I'll I'll tabulate
everything. I'll drink one bureau for
most total super chats, one bureau for
biggest individual. And you know what?
had you going anytime I drink a beer,
it's for you.
>> Maybe I'll find something like
incredibly spicy to eat. Like I'll I'll
go get like a gitlada curry and whoever
>> for those of you who don't live in LA, a
gelatada curry is no joke.
>> Dude, here's the thing. There's spicy
food. There's like Hot Ones type spicy.
Then you go to a Thai restaurant.
>> It's and it's
>> it's different.
>> Like a good like authentic Thai
restaurant and it's like there there's
levels to it that you didn't know
existed. That's all I'm gonna say. We
got uh Begsy one 1234 uh sending in a a
gift membership. Thank you,
>> Begy. Who gets it?
>> It went to Matt Matt Zake YT. Um
received that gift membership by
Begsy1234.
>> Congrats.
>> That's the That's the superhero team up
we've been looking for. Not all heroes
wear capes. A lot of them give out
YouTube gift memberships. Uh and we
celebrate you. We thank you. You keep
you keep this channel going more
literally than you may know.
>> Uh yeah, if if the lights start to dim,
it's because we didn't get enough super
chats.
>> Yeah. Yeah. It's like, you know, you got
to clap for Tinker Bells coming alive.
[100:00] >> The bills are coming due.
[100:01] >> So, we're getting towards the end of the
[100:02] WB panel here. We haven't uh we're still
[100:05] waiting on what could be some pretty big
[100:07] news. We're we're hearing chatter that
[100:08] we have an Evil Dead Burn trailer that
[100:10] came out. And you know that trailer is
[100:12] nary.
[100:13] >> It's going to be nary. I mean the the
[100:15] director of Evil Dead Rise, which I
[100:17] liked quite a bit, is has The Mummy,
[100:19] which is coming out in theaters very
[100:20] soon, Lee Cronin. I'm excited for that.
[100:23] I don't know who directed Evil Dead Burn
[100:25] off the top of my head.
[100:26] >> Sebastian Vanisk,
[100:28] >> whose name does not ring a bell, but he
[100:31] has previously directed something called
[100:33] Infested and something called Crocs. Um,
[100:37] great thing about, you know, especially
[100:38] the Evil Dead franchise, they've been
[100:40] kind of plucking these foreign directors
[100:42] who have shown some promise maybe on
[100:43] foreign language films and and letting
[100:45] them go. And there's a rich history of
[100:46] that. Even Fedy Alvarez, who didn't he
[100:49] do an Evil Dead?
[100:50] >> He did the Evil Dead like kind of
[100:52] >> reboot and then most recently did Alien
[100:54] Rom Alien Romulus. Uh, and it's like
[100:58] there's something about, you know, film
[101:00] is a universal language and certainly
[101:03] like horror and terror are kind of
[101:05] universal languages that translate
[101:07] really well. Uh,
[101:08] >> I mean there's a lot of my my my
[101:10] girlfriend is super into horror, so I
[101:12] wind up watching a lot of she's she's
[101:14] like deep in on like the subg genres of
[101:17] Korean horror that I I'll never be
[101:18] familiar with. But, um,
[101:20] >> there's there's a ton of great
[101:22] international horror and it's fun
[101:24] because it draws from such a cultural
[101:27] background that is so divorced from the
[101:29] American cultural background that it
[101:32] surprises you in different ways. It
[101:33] really gets around a lot of the
[101:34] formulaic stuff in a way I really
[101:36] enjoyed.
[101:37] >> I love that. I also love I feel this way
[101:38] about foreign crime movies as well, I
[101:40] always appreciate when I don't recognize
[101:41] any of the actors, I feel like you lose
[101:43] yourself a little bit more. Yes. In the
[101:46] story because it's like as much as I
[101:47] love a movie star and like, oh, Scarlett
[101:49] Johansson, it's hard for me to forget
[101:51] that it's Scarlett Johansson and not a
[101:53] woman in peril or whatever, you know?
[101:54] >> Anyways, go watch Ganonjam Haunted
[101:56] Asylum. It's it's not going to blow your
[101:59] mind, but it's like a real solid you get
[102:00] your sign up.
[102:01] >> Have we talked about Cure before?
[102:03] >> About what?
[102:03] >> Cure.
[102:04] >> No,
[102:04] >> that's a I believe a Japanese horror
[102:06] movie. Oh, that's a good one, too. Okay,
[102:10] >> pretty good. Okay, we we're getting word
[102:11] from Sarah Hatchadorian. Don't know who
[102:13] that is. Uh, we have Mortal Kombat
[102:17] footage being shown uh to the room now.
[102:20] Uh, maybe we'll get some updates via uh
[102:23] via Eric tweet.
[102:24] >> So, this is an interesting film, right?
[102:26] It was delayed. It was supposed to come
[102:27] out last year. It was uh delayed to this
[102:31] year. I believe it's actually coming out
[102:33] relatively. It's like May 8th or
[102:37] >> May. You nailed it on the head there.
[102:39] >> Wow. May
[102:40] >> um bringing in Carl Urban
[102:43] >> uh to play Johnny Cage. Um
[102:46] >> great casting. I think
[102:48] >> Carl Urban I saw I think it might have
[102:50] even been on the new Rockstars uh page
[102:52] or maybe somebody else had a thing like
[102:54] Carl Urban might hold the record for
[102:56] most franchises he's appeared in
[102:57] >> cuz he was he's Scourge in Thor
[103:00] Ragnarok.
[103:01] >> He's obviously in The Boys,
[103:02] >> Lord of the Rings. Lord of the Rings. He
[103:04] played Judge Dread. Um
[103:06] >> yeah.
[103:07] >> Uh there's like seven. Uh he's in the
[103:11] He's in the Born franchise. He played a
[103:13] Goon in the Born franchise. I mean, and
[103:15] he's you know what? He's great and
[103:16] everything. I also once saw him at um
[103:18] Neptune's Net in Malibu getting off a
[103:20] motorcycle.
[103:21] >> There you go.
[103:22] >> That's the prime Carl Urban like
[103:24] experience.
[103:25] >> Yeah. He was just cruising down PCH.
[103:27] >> Yeah.
[103:28] >> Stopped for some fried shrimp, you know,
[103:30] my man.
[103:31] >> Okay, we got a super chat coming in.
[103:33] Hand from Brian.
[103:34] >> Star Trek, too.
[103:34] >> Pick one. I got to
[103:35] >> Oh, Star Trek, too. Good call. Yes.
[103:37] >> Uh, okay. Pick one. $10 super chat from
[103:39] Vibe Wood, Chuck. Uh, Shrek verse Wick.
[103:42] Shoot the swamp, Shrek 5, 50 Shades of
[103:45] Green, or Shrek Unchained. An exciting
[103:47] original spin-off that beautifully
[103:49] blends the imaginative worlds of both
[103:50] Shrek and Django Unchained. I'm going
[103:53] Shoot the Swamp Hardcore. I want to see
[103:55] Shrek versus a bunch of gnomes, a bunch
[103:58] of gingerbread men.
[103:59] >> This is a good question for tomorrow.
[104:02] Yes.
[104:02] >> When we
[104:03] >> in theory, we're getting a Shrek movie
[104:05] next year and the Universal panel will
[104:07] probably talk about it.
[104:08] >> Yes.
[104:09] >> Yet another Zenaia project.
[104:11] >> Amazing.
[104:12] >> She's in all the movies.
[104:13] >> Amazing.
[104:14] >> Um, yeah. It's time. It's time to bring
[104:16] back Shrek. Uh,
[104:17] >> I don't know which one I like.
[104:18] >> Fifty Shades of Green. So, it's just Are
[104:20] we seeing Full Frontal Shrek?
[104:22] >> Full frontal Shrek. Yeah, the internet
[104:24] has it. It's been around for years.
[104:25] >> That's Yeah, that's not new.
[104:26] >> This Yeah, this the full frontal Shrek
[104:28] technology was developed in 2000. Yeah.
[104:30] >> Is that how we get Gen Z back on board
[104:32] with sex scenes in movies?
[104:33] >> Yeah. Yeah.
[104:35] >> Yeah. It's just Yeah. Full frontal. Full
[104:38] frontal. Shrek.
[104:39] >> I like Shrek Unchained.
[104:40] >> You You're going Shrek Unchained.
[104:42] >> I mean, it's the only one that has like
[104:44] a description.
[104:45] >> Well, it beautifully blends the
[104:47] imaginative worlds of both Shrek and
[104:48] Django Unchained. Sure. But Shoot the
[104:50] Swamp is both a description and a
[104:52] subtype.
[104:53] >> I also like describing Django Unchained
[104:55] as beautifully imagined world. the
[104:57] plantation slavery with with gods.
[105:00] >> Beautiful beautifully imaginative. Yeah.
[105:03] >> I mean, if yesterday we predicted spider
[105:05] dong, I think today it's okay to predict
[105:06] Shrek dong. Over under 20% on Shrek
[105:09] dong.
[105:10] >> Um,
[105:11] >> when you picture Shrek naked in your
[105:14] head, like does it is it an image that
[105:15] comes to you or is it kind of hard like
[105:18] you can't picture him out of the tunic?
[105:21] >> Have you seen Shrek is love, Shrek is
[105:23] life?
[105:24] >> No. What is that?
[105:25] >> You have to look it up. Okay.
[105:27] >> Can I look it up on a work computer? Do
[105:29] it on my phone later kind of.
[105:31] >> It's like a It's like a thing.
[105:33] >> Okay.
[105:33] >> Okay. Interesting. Because I'm just
[105:35] picturing that his wiener looks like one
[105:36] of his ears.
[105:38] >> And I I don't know if that's canon.
[105:40] That's my head canon.
[105:41] >> Brian, do you know what I'm talking
[105:42] about?
[105:42] >> I do know what you're talking about.
[105:43] >> Yeah. Okay. The youths know.
[105:46] >> Yeah. Cuz everyone's like, "Oh, Shrek 5
[105:48] is the first post Shrek is love. Shrek
[105:52] is life." Shrek
[105:53] >> in and like kind of post
[105:54] >> where he's a meme. Yeah, Shrek kind of
[105:57] taking over the internet. It will be the
[106:00] last uh this movie is currently slated.
[106:03] This is June of next year. Um when was
[106:06] Shrek 4? How long has it been?
[106:08] >> 2010 or 11.
[106:10] >> Shrek 4 nicadating is the film I think
[106:13] that should come next.
[106:15] >> 2010. 2010 was Shrek Forever After.
[106:18] >> And we had to push some boots since then
[106:19] though right?
[106:20] >> We've had a couple push some boots. Yes.
[106:22] >> Um Yeah. Yeah, but there's there's an
[106:25] entire generation of people raised on
[106:27] Shrek that have not gotten to see Shrek
[106:29] in theaters, right?
[106:30] >> Yeah.
[106:31] >> Yeah.
[106:31] >> Facts.
[106:32] >> Okay. Biggest movie of 2027, calling it
[106:34] right now. Uh, bigger than Secret Wars,
[106:36] bigger than Beyond the Spider-Verse,
[106:38] >> Man of Tomorrow,
[106:39] >> bigger than Man of Tomorrow, bigger than
[106:41] Actually, I think Frozen 3 is coming out
[106:43] next year. Sorry everybody.
[106:45] >> Yeah, Frozen 3.
[106:46] >> You're fighting for second place.
[106:48] >> Oh, Frozen 2 was like not that good,
[106:50] >> but that doesn't matter. I know it
[106:52] doesn't matter, but I'm just saying it
[106:53] was the last movie I saw before CO hit
[106:55] and I didn't enjoy it.
[106:56] >> You didn't go to
[106:59] um Dr. Dittle.
[107:02] >> I was saved. I was saved.
[107:04] >> He waited to see that.
[107:05] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I waited.
[107:07] >> He wanted to see it.
[107:07] >> I rented a theater in, you know, May
[107:10] 2022.
[107:13] >> Uh okay. So, yeah, Last We Heard, uh
[107:15] Evil Dead Burn. Okay. Discussing film
[107:17] has a synopsis of the trailer. first
[107:20] teaser for Evil Dead Rise.
[107:23] >> Well,
[107:23] >> well, Evil Dead Rise was the last
[107:25] >> that was the last movie, but there's
[107:26] they might have just mistyped here.
[107:28] >> That's the mommies with the maggots now
[107:30] is Evil Dead R.
[107:31] >> It reveals some brutal deadite action,
[107:33] as one might have guessed. A dead eye a
[107:35] dead impaled by the head of a car seat.
[107:38] >> That's kind of funny. A dead eyee
[107:40] drinking hot candle wax.
[107:42] >> Okay.
[107:42] >> Uh a young man impaled into a dishwasher
[107:45] full of knives.
[107:46] >> Okay, I like it. Uh see the footage
[107:49] description here and that that's this is
[107:51] uh via our friends at discussing film.
[107:53] Uh yeah I was it isn't there a was there
[107:57] a cheese grater prominently involved in
[107:59] the last day?
[108:00] >> That's in Evil Dead uh I think that's in
[108:04] the Evil Dead out at the cabin. I don't
[108:06] think that's an Evil Dead rise. One of
[108:07] them does have a cheese gr Oh no you're
[108:09] thinking of weapons. There's a cheese gr
[108:12] but I think didn't also they have a or
[108:14] was it a pizza cutter? There was
[108:15] something Yeah. There's like Yeah,
[108:17] there's there's one with like a very
[108:18] like I think maybe a paper cutter or
[108:20] something on a tongue there. The one
[108:22] with uh uh the woman whose name I'm
[108:25] blanking on where they're like drying
[108:27] someone out from heroin at this haunted
[108:29] cabin. Uh that has a pretty gnarly knife
[108:31] situation.
[108:32] >> Not as gnarly as the knife on the melon
[108:35] from Bring Her Back. That's one of the
[108:36] gnarliest things I've seen in a movie in
[108:38] a long time. That was
[108:40] >> That was That was real trouble. That was
[108:42] bad.
[108:43] >> Narles. Um, okay. Uh, so again, recap of
[108:49] things we've so far heard about at the
[108:52] Warner Brothers panel. We got a little
[108:54] poster and a cast list for Lord of the
[108:56] Rings Hunt for Gollum coming out next
[108:59] year, 2027. Uh, Digger coming out later
[109:03] this year. Tom Cruz, heavy prosthetics.
[109:06] Uh, Gonzo comedy tone, stacked cast.
[109:11] Let's go. Very interesting combination
[109:14] of qualities uh for Digger. End of Oak
[109:17] Street. Um we got more images of a T-Rex
[109:21] chasing the family down.
[109:23] >> It feels very like amlin coded, right?
[109:26] Like you know
[109:26] >> Yeah. with maybe like some Cloverfield
[109:28] sprinkled in.
[109:29] >> Yeah. That kind of like family like
[109:31] Yeah, the kids are in danger, but it's
[109:33] still like a family adventure movie.
[109:35] Like I'm into that. I'm into that.
[109:37] >> Um Godzilla XCON Supernova. We just got
[109:41] a title for that film coming that also
[109:43] coming out next year 2027. Uh James Gun,
[109:47] Nicholas Holt, David Kornsweet appear in
[109:49] a video montage to plug next year's Made
[109:52] of Tomorrow.
[109:52] >> So do we think James Gunn isn't there?
[109:56] >> Uh refresh the thing. We're getting some
[109:58] some chatter in the chat over what is in
[110:00] the bags.
[110:02] >> It's uh a thing one and thing two.
[110:05] >> I guess it
[110:06] >> wig wig. Oh.
[110:08] >> Uh uh. Who's saying this? Uh Sarah
[110:11] Hatchadorian who I'm beefing with. Uh
[110:15] inside the present is a thing one thing
[110:17] two wig.
[110:19] >> Um
[110:19] >> like kind of with the puffy kind of
[110:21] curled doll hair kind of. Yes.
[110:23] >> Thing one and thing two.
[110:25] >> Thing two and thing one. They can do
[110:27] anything anything under the sun. No one
[110:29] no one knows the Chuck Jones one. Now,
[110:32] according to uh media updates, Nicole
[110:35] Kidman and Sandra Bulock are there in
[110:37] Vegas.
[110:38] >> Okay.
[110:39] >> Some Practical Magic 2 um on stage. Um
[110:44] we got a super chat coming in, Bryant.
[110:48] >> Our friend Marvel Pirate coming through
[110:50] at the end of the stream. Find a mask
[110:51] and each person put it on and give us
[110:53] your scariest laugh.
[110:55] >> Do we have masks here?
[110:56] >> What a strange. We do have We got some
[110:58] helmets.
[110:59] >> Let's see here. You just doing your
[111:00] bidding now, Marvel Pirate? Are we Are
[111:03] we dancing for dollars? I'm not above
[111:04] that. I'm not above dancing for dollars.
[111:06] Singing for my supper.
[111:08] >> Um, we'll see. We'll see if we get to
[111:10] it. There might be movie stuff to talk
[111:12] about.
[111:12] >> I got to take my glasses off.
[111:14] >> That is a former popcorn bucket, but
[111:16] also a functional helmet. Or no, maybe
[111:18] that was just a helmet. We have a
[111:19] similar one. That's a popcorn bucket.
[111:21] >> Okay. Ready?
[111:22] >> I don't want to put that on.
[111:24] >> Which camera?
[111:29] All the movies from here on out will be
[111:32] quantum mania.
[111:35] >> Right. Terrifying. Nice. Nice work.
[111:38] >> It's not comfortable. It's not a
[111:39] comfortable hat.
[111:40] >> Here you go, Zach.
[111:41] >> Uh, okay. This is uh this is I don't
[111:44] think this is coming out on stage, but
[111:46] uh Film Updates is reporting this uh
[111:49] during this panel, so I don't know if
[111:51] maybe somebody else is releasing this.
[111:52] Uh, an Oceans's prequel is set to
[111:54] release in theaters in 2027 starring
[111:56] Margot Robby, Margot Robbie and Bradley
[111:59] Cooper as the parents of Danny Ocean.
[112:02] >> I thought that was supposed to be Ryan
[112:03] Gosling.
[112:04] >> Who's writing it? I want to know. I want
[112:06] to know if Ted Griffin's writing it.
[112:07] >> And and does Steven Soderberg have any
[112:09] involvement in this project? I don't
[112:11] know. They don't say that. They don't
[112:13] say anything about that.
[112:14] >> We do have a update. Turns out the the
[112:16] mystery packages given to the crowd at
[112:17] Cinem before the W panel were blue
[112:19] thingwigs for the Cat in the Hat. A sea
[112:21] of blue wigs fills the Dolby Coliseum.
[112:24] >> Now, how are we supposed to know that if
[112:26] Eric doesn't send us a photo?
[112:28] >> Oh, we're going to get
[112:29] >> Yeah, we got to get We got to get photos
[112:30] of him and Jess the thing wigs.
[112:32] >> I'm going to We need wig pics.
[112:33] >> Also got an update here. Again, this
[112:35] might be unrelated to the Warner
[112:36] Brothers panel. Just film news that is
[112:38] coming out at the same time via film
[112:39] updates. Might Shyamalan on his upcoming
[112:42] supernatural romantic thriller Remain,
[112:45] starring Phoebe Denniver and Jake
[112:47] Gyllenhaal. I waited a long time to go
[112:49] back to the genre of ghosts. I can't
[112:51] wait for audiences around the world to
[112:52] see it. Okay.
[112:54] >> All right. All right.
[112:56] >> Um, set in a trap universe, no doubt.
[112:58] Uh, Brian, we got more super chats
[113:00] coming through.
[113:02] Uh, Mike Azenego, our friend from New
[113:05] Zealand. Uh, my company made a
[113:07] >> Brazil. Brazil.
[113:07] >> Oh, Brazil. Sorry. It's the other
[113:09] gentleman that is from New Zealand. My
[113:12] gentleman, my company made a 007 style
[113:15] short. Since it'll be public domain, I'd
[113:18] love a full film. I know a Brazilian
[113:20] cowboy isn't usual 007, but I think
[113:23] you'd watch it, bro.
[113:24] >> Yeah, I'd watch. Yeah, I said Brazilian
[113:25] cowboy.
[113:26] >> So, it's it's Brazilian, it's cowboy,
[113:29] and it's James Bond.
[113:30] >> I'll take it.
[113:30] >> It's It's got a lot going on. It's got a
[113:32] lot going on.
[113:34] >> That's a hat on a hat.
[113:36] >> Okay. Uh it's time I come clean. My head
[113:39] is too large to fit in this helmet.
[113:41] >> I'll go I'll go put this back in its
[113:42] place of honor on the shelf.
[113:44] >> Yeah,
[113:45] >> hats hate to see me coming. Um, okay.
[113:49] Thank you to everybody that's being
[113:51] active in the chat. I see you Red Carpet
[113:53] Talk. I see you Kellen Higgins, Elijah
[113:56] Martin, Harry Evans, uh, Jay Izzy, Lord
[114:01] Omni the First. We got a super chat
[114:03] coming through.
[114:05] >> It's a a tweet.
[114:06] >> A tweet. We got a new update. Oh, WB's
[114:09] animated Cat in the Hat film showed a
[114:10] trailer at Cineacon. The film shows the
[114:12] cat, Bill Hater, with a family as they
[114:14] get transported to a world based on the
[114:16] memories. Uh, the animation style of
[114:18] this film looks fun.
[114:19] >> And, uh, right after that, we got Okay,
[114:22] time for DC Studios updates at Cineacon.
[114:24] Peter Saffron is on stage. So,
[114:27] interesting that they did su Man of
[114:29] Tomorrow at the top,
[114:30] >> but now we're coming back to DC. I
[114:32] imagine this will be Supergirl. Maybe
[114:35] more Clayface, maybe new projects. Yes.
[114:37] >> Interesting. Okay, we're in the juicy
[114:39] part, folks. We're You've You've been
[114:41] here with us for almost exactly two
[114:43] hours.
[114:44] >> Now we're finally getting to the
[114:46] >> I can vamp by doing Fox and Socks. Ryan,
[114:50] we'll do a When Tweedle Beetles fight,
[114:51] it's called the Tweedle Beetle Battle.
[114:53] When they battle in a puddle, it's a
[114:54] tweedle beetle puddle battle. And when
[114:57] beatles battle beetles in a bottle with
[114:59] their paddles, they call this a Tweedle
[115:01] Beetle bottle paddle battle. And when
[115:04] Tweedles battle beetles in a bottle with
[115:06] their paddles and the bottle's on a
[115:07] poodle and the poodle's eating noodles,
[115:09] they call this a Tweedle Beetle Pod.
[115:13] >> There it is.
[115:16] >> Berg's in the chat for Berg and all of
[115:19] that. I um I will say it's fascinating
[115:21] that their next project they're working
[115:22] on after Cat in the Hat is Oh, the
[115:25] Places You'll Go, which is not a
[115:27] narrative book.
[115:28] >> Nope.
[115:28] >> Sam Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Fury
[115:31] himself, read it to me when I graduated
[115:33] college.
[115:34] >> Oh, he was your commencement speaker.
[115:35] >> He and he read us, "Oh, the Places
[115:37] You'll Go." And I got to give him a high
[115:39] five and say, "Thanks, man."
[115:41] >> Wow.
[115:43] >> Yeah. Wow.
[115:43] >> Wild to have Nick Fury read you a Dr.
[115:45] Seuss book.
[115:47] >> Um, but yeah, that's that's my
[115:50] connection to that book.
[115:53] >> I want to read it.
[115:54] >> Okay. Peter Saffron uh says that
[115:56] production for Man of Tomorrow begins
[115:58] next week, so we will not be seeing any
[116:00] footage from that uh film and that James
[116:03] Gun will be at Cinema Con next year. Ah,
[116:06] that's why he's not there right now
[116:07] because he's about to start production.
[116:09] Thin excuse, James, but that's fine.
[116:12] Keep working on your movies.
[116:13] >> Sure.
[116:14] >> Yeah,
[116:14] >> he'll still show up.
[116:16] >> Uh plus that's why you have a co-head of
[116:18] the studio, you know, you got the
[116:20] Saffron and Gun. We always forget about
[116:22] Saffron. Gun tends to take top billing,
[116:24] but Saffron is there in theory, co-equal
[116:26] in power. Guns are just a little bit
[116:28] more forward, a little more media savvy,
[116:31] a little more audience friendly,
[116:32] >> little more online. Yeah, Peter
[116:34] Saffron's the producer. Uh, has produced
[116:37] uh in addition to producing Superman and
[116:40] uh um other project, he produced The
[116:42] Flash. I think he's also, I think,
[116:44] Aquaman. Uh and he's produced a bunch of
[116:46] horror films as well. I think he's done
[116:48] a lot of the James Juan films. We're
[116:51] getting news of Clayface footage,
[116:52] Clayface trailer.
[116:54] >> We'll probably have a update from Eric
[116:56] typing out a description of that
[116:58] momentarily.
[116:59] >> Do we think this gets released?
[117:02] >> Yes,
[117:02] >> if it's a trailer, definitely.
[117:03] >> And again, as we were saying, it's kind
[117:06] of time, right? We're not too far out. I
[117:09] mean, it's we're 6 months out. Eight
[117:11] months out. Yeah.
[117:13] >> Kind of seems like it could have
[117:14] Wonderman energy with the actor
[117:18] elements. Oh, but and now
[117:20] >> but like darker. Wonderman's like, you
[117:22] know, kind of a fun
[117:24] >> and and have we heard confirmation is
[117:25] this a period piece?
[117:27] >> I don't know. I haven't heard that.
[117:28] >> Is it set in modern day or old time? I
[117:30] feel like we saw some set photos that
[117:31] made it look like it was a period piece,
[117:34] but I don't know if that's true or not.
[117:35] Maybe I'm just thinking of Batman the
[117:37] animated series and that clay face
[117:39] aesthetic.
[117:41] >> Uh but yeah, I hope we get a publicly
[117:43] released trailer. It's Marvel that loves
[117:46] to show footage and not give it to the
[117:48] people. Yes, although we it is heavily
[117:50] rumored that we will be getting a proper
[117:52] Doomsday trailer this week. We can't
[117:54] promise that. It's rumor. Brian's got a
[117:57] hand up.
[117:59] Shout out from the Virgin Islands from
[118:00] Mick Swan 13. $5 super chat. Great job,
[118:03] Berg. Love reading that book to my son.
[118:05] It's great. Here's the game you play
[118:06] when you read Fox and Socks to a kid.
[118:08] You tell the kid, you read it slow and
[118:10] you tell the kid that if you if they
[118:12] want you to read it faster, they have to
[118:14] tell you faster. And you go, "Oh, boy.
[118:16] Okay." Okay. And then you get it really
[118:18] fast and blow their minds. Through three
[118:20] cheese trees, three free fleas flu.
[118:22] That's a good one to do. Uh new blue
[118:26] gooey gooey. That's another one that
[118:28] goes really fast. Don't try it with uh
[118:31] simple thimble. Uh and uh never never
[118:33] give your daddy a walrus. Um okay, we
[118:36] got another uh we got another super chat
[118:38] back there. Hannah Basso 13989.99
[118:41] aiming for that second bureau. Uh
[118:44] Clayface apparently has Joker vibes. Is
[118:46] that a good thing or a bad thing?
[118:48] >> What joke are we talking about?
[118:49] >> Which joke are we talking? I mean, I
[118:51] assume this means the walking Phoenix
[118:53] Joker.
[118:53] >> Yeah. But is this Are we going to get
[118:55] the full title? Clayface Fala Clay.
[118:58] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[118:59] >> Uh Fagu.
[119:01] >> Yes. Uh Fyagu. I mean, the first the the
[119:05] Joker movie was not my thing. Todd
[119:08] Phillips had I I think Walking Phoenix
[119:10] gave an absolutely amazing performance.
[119:12] I didn't love the movie around him and
[119:14] what it was doing. Um, so could be good.
[119:18] Uh, Brian's got another hand up. Brian,
[119:19] what's super chat? Christian
[119:20] unpronouncable. I'm going to go watch
[119:22] Daredevil then Bed. Love you all. Great
[119:24] stream. See you tomorrow, Christian.
[119:26] Good night, sweet prince.
[119:27] >> Good night.
[119:28] >> Um, go read yourself uh a Dr. Seuss book
[119:31] on your way to bed. Could be Fox and
[119:32] Socks. Could be uh uh Oh, the Places
[119:35] You'll Go. Could be uh what's the one?
[119:36] The Parrot on the Cub. Say the things
[119:39] say the things you'll say. I don't know.
[119:41] >> Horton. Here's a Who?
[119:42] >> Horton. Here's a Who? That's a good one.
[119:43] >> It's a good one.
[119:44] >> Uh yeah. So, this is it that'll be
[119:46] interesting. Joker vibes. I mean, I
[119:47] would guess it's even a little bit more
[119:49] horror and less 70s gritty character
[119:53] drama because that's what we've kind of
[119:55] been told. Also, this director, I think
[119:57] his most recent credit was Speak No
[119:58] Evil, the James Makavoy remake of the
[120:01] like Danish horror movie. Um, so like
[120:04] that's clearly like this director's
[120:06] vibe. Uh, but we don't know. We haven't
[120:07] seen the trailer yet. Hopefully we get
[120:09] to see it today or or get a very uh
[120:13] descriptive uh v vision of it from
[120:16] Aaron.
[120:17] >> Yeah. Let's see if we if we refresh
[120:19] Brian. Yeah.
[120:22] >> Okay. I got it here. DC Studios Clayface
[120:25] teaser shown at Cineacon. It's brutal.
[120:29] >> The flaming lips. Do you realize? Okay.
[120:32] echoes over Tom Ree Harry's as actor
[120:35] Matt Hagen who due to a facial injury is
[120:38] now sitting in a bed with one eye open
[120:41] glaring out from under bandages. Quick
[120:43] shots cut in to show his glamorous
[120:45] afterlife before the injury. Lots of
[120:48] body horror blades pressed against faces
[120:52] sprinting past Gotham police cars. A
[120:55] possible sighting of Gotham's boardwalk
[120:57] circus. The teaser ends with Matt lying
[121:00] naked, curled up in a bathtub, staring
[121:02] blankly upward, and then he runs his
[121:04] hand down his face and smears his
[121:07] claylike skin.
[121:10] >> Also, not the first time uh we're
[121:12] getting a Flaming Lips DC crossover. Uh
[121:15] Flaming Lips was used in Batman Forever
[121:18] over the Riddler as he was deciding to
[121:20] quit his job.
[121:21] >> Did they give us DC uh Do You Realize or
[121:24] it was a different song?
[121:24] >> It was a different song. was it was
[121:26] before do you realize had even come out
[121:27] when flaming lifts were just like a
[121:29] weird alt rock
[121:29] >> thing that early flaming lifts. Okay.
[121:32] Okay. I love the description of it's
[121:34] brutal and body horror like croninburggy
[121:37] kind of
[121:40] >> icky. Uh very interesting. I mean the
[121:44] other than the like running by Gotham uh
[121:47] will this have any like DC feel do you
[121:52] think?
[121:52] >> Uh fourth in Tuscaloosa. thank you for
[121:54] becoming a rockstar. Yeah, I think it
[121:56] will. I I think that uh we're going to
[121:59] get like, you know, Clayface is running
[122:01] around Gotham doing his own thing or or
[122:03] whether or not we see Batman, a Batman,
[122:08] you know, like or like, you know, GCPD
[122:11] or something like that, like I I think
[122:13] this is a project that has a chance to
[122:16] occupy a horror corner of the DC
[122:18] universe in the same way that Captain
[122:21] America, certainly with Winter Soldier
[122:23] and Civil War, like occupied like a
[122:25] political thriller corner of the MC
[122:27] >> or even the way the Penguin
[122:29] >> occupies a gritty gangster corner of DC,
[122:33] but like we never see Batman, we never
[122:35] see Joker, we never see Riddler or
[122:36] anything like that. Never show up in
[122:37] Penguin. Maybe that's this. And I
[122:39] believe this is this is not connected to
[122:41] the DCU. It is an Elseorld, but that
[122:43] doesn't mean this Elseorld could have
[122:44] its own Wayne family or whatever. Yeah,
[122:48] >> I mean it's uh you know I think it's not
[122:51] quite as widely known, but in the Arkham
[122:54] games, you know, it starts with Arkham
[122:56] Asylum and then go into Arkham City,
[122:58] Clayface plays a huge role in the second
[123:02] of those Arkham games in a way that's
[123:04] like really fascinating. And without
[123:06] spoiling anything, I would love to see
[123:08] them take some of those plot elements
[123:09] and integrate them into uh whatever this
[123:12] movie is. Uh I also recently rewatched
[123:15] uh Sam Ramy's Dark Man.
[123:18] >> Oh yeah.
[123:19] >> Which has some elements like superhero
[123:21] guy that can kind of like mold his face
[123:24] to look like other people. Uh but is
[123:27] also brutally scarred and has like kind
[123:29] of some dark elements. So like there's
[123:31] some parallels there that didn't go
[123:33] quite as horror as it sounds like this
[123:35] does. Yeah. Um
[123:36] >> a little more campy.
[123:37] >> Yes. Campy as as Sam Ramy is want to do.
[123:40] But um yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, who's
[123:42] president for pulling this off in kind
[123:44] of the superhero genre?
[123:45] >> Yeah. I mean, and and everyone in the
[123:46] chat saying that uh it was going to be
[123:48] Elseorlds at one point, but now Gun has
[123:50] said it's canon. So,
[123:52] >> Clayface is going to be in the DCU,
[123:55] >> but but again, we don't know time
[123:56] period. So, could this be
[123:58] >> 50 years before the events of Superman
[124:00] or something like that? Yeah.
[124:02] >> Um
[124:03] >> we'll see Gotham, which is exciting.
[124:05] >> Yes.
[124:07] Yes. Yes. Yes. And we got some Tweet
[124:08] Beetle tweets here. Um,
[124:13] okay. We're seeing uh Hell DC Studios
[124:16] has announced Hellblazer
[124:19] uh starring uh Tor Capone as John
[124:22] Constantine.
[124:24] >> Whoa, that was
[124:26] >> Tor Capone. Sounds like a fake name.
[124:28] >> Does sound like a fake name.
[124:29] >> I don't believe that person exists, but
[124:32] I'm googling.
[124:34] >> Well, okay.
[124:34] >> Also, we already have a pretty great
[124:36] John Constantine and Ker Reeves. I was
[124:38] going to say, didn't that isn't that in
[124:41] development?
[124:41] >> Oh, wait. Don't component. Oh, from the
[124:43] boys. Oh, duh. That's the Frenchie. Hell
[124:47] yeah.
[124:47] >> That's an interesting casting for John
[124:50] Constantine. Okay. Again, uh James Gunn
[124:54] loves pulling people from TV that have
[124:55] not been uh the stars of films.
[124:57] >> I'll tell you this, the I haven't seen
[124:59] is the third episode of The Boys tonight
[125:00] at midnight or tomorrow.
[125:02] >> Tomorrow. Uh I' I've only watched the
[125:04] first two episodes of the new season. We
[125:06] don't have screeners or anything. It's
[125:08] so goddamn good. I love Frenchie.
[125:10] Frenchie's been one of my favorite
[125:11] characters the whole run, except for
[125:13] that one season when he was like, "I
[125:14] guess I go to prison now." And just sat
[125:16] in prison, didn't do anything.
[125:18] >> Who among us hasn't?
[125:19] >> Yeah. Hey, we've been there. We've been
[125:20] there.
[125:21] >> Uh, Zach, get ready. We're hearing Zen
[125:24] Zenaia is there for Dune.
[125:27] >> Oh,
[125:28] >> hell yeah.
[125:29] >> She has. She has arrived.
[125:32] >> Um,
[125:33] >> so they're closing with Dune.
[125:36] I mean, chronologically that makes
[125:38] sense. That's probably their final
[125:39] release of the year. Not that they've
[125:42] been going in order necessarily, but um
[125:44] >> No, but also a a major release. It's
[125:46] already sold out IMAX tickets.
[125:49] >> Dune, I'm sure they're thinking too like
[125:51] Dune in addition to hopefully it is a
[125:53] giant box office success. That's
[125:55] probably their best hope at something
[125:56] like a best picture or, you know, I
[125:59] mean, I'm sure they're hoping that they
[126:00] have a lot of awards contenders.
[126:02] Something that like kind of lives in the
[126:03] firmament in ways that like One Battle
[126:05] After Another and Sentinners did. Um,
[126:07] and maybe the one that has the most on
[126:10] onstage talent, though I guess Tom Cruz
[126:12] is pretty big deal.
[126:12] >> Yeah, Tom Cruz pretty. Yeah. Um,
[126:15] >> yeah. I mean, I think Inoritu has has
[126:18] Oscar Oscar chances. Uh, you know, just
[126:21] by virtue of being like a weird artsy
[126:23] fartsy dude. Uh
[126:26] but um
[126:28] okay, we'll see if we got any updates on
[126:29] this. Uh
[126:30] >> do you think Eric's phone died?
[126:33] >> Yeah, Eric Eric's in there just like
[126:35] asking anybody if they have a lightning
[126:36] charger.
[126:39] Um no updates from from our feed.
[126:42] >> I guess discussing film says that like
[126:44] we also got a little Jason Mamoa there.
[126:46] I don't know if you maybe sent in video
[126:47] or or what. Uh talking about playing
[126:50] Lobo and Supergirl. He said it was a
[126:51] dream come true. It's the comic I
[126:53] collected. I feel like 12-year-old me
[126:55] would be freaking out. Uh, fun. I'm
[126:58] excited to see him play Lobo. And then
[127:00] they described Clay Fay as riveting
[127:02] horror thriller. Film looks to be
[127:03] similar to Feed of Clay from Batman the
[127:05] Animated Series. Okay.
[127:06] >> Yes, we got a super chat coming in,
[127:08] Brian.
[127:09] >> Uh, over under 20% from Eric Hendershot
[127:11] 9802. $5 super chat. Uh, if not DCU
[127:15] Batman, do we see DCU Commissioner
[127:17] Gordon in clay phase?
[127:19] >> That's a great call. Oh, again if it's
[127:22] if it's a period piece, maybe it's
[127:26] Commissioner Gordon the First.
[127:27] >> Yeah. Yeah.
[127:28] >> Or Young Commissioner Gordon.
[127:30] >> What's that?
[127:30] >> Like Young
[127:32] >> or Yeah. Young. Yeah. Depending on how
[127:33] the Depending on what period it is,
[127:35] right? Yeah.
[127:37] >> Yeah. I think I I think something I
[127:39] think something like that is very
[127:40] likely. I I think if it's going to be
[127:42] part of the DCU, they're going to want
[127:44] some connective tissue. I don't think
[127:46] they're going to want to do it with too
[127:47] heavy of a hand. Um, but I think
[127:50] something like this that firmly
[127:51] establishes, hey, Clayface is running
[127:53] around out there somewhere, whether it's
[127:55] period piece or not.
[127:56] >> Uh, I see like a random uh uh Amadeus
[128:01] Keen in the chat. Any news on Avengers
[128:03] Doomsday? So, uh, a little reminder, we
[128:05] are just getting Warner Brothers news
[128:07] for the most part. We will be getting
[128:09] Disney/Marvel news on Thursday and we
[128:12] will be live streaming during that,
[128:14] baby. We've been told we are getting
[128:17] something on Doomsday. We are getting
[128:18] footage. We are getting a trailer.
[128:20] Something will be happening on Thursday.
[128:21] >> We've got Supergirl updates. Uh
[128:23] Supergirl team is on stage. Millie Alco,
[128:25] Jason Mamoa, director Craig Gillespie,
[128:28] introduced by an alien DJ and Mimoa
[128:30] riding in on Lobo Spacehog. Gillespie
[128:33] praises Alco speaking Kryptonian and the
[128:35] arduous stunts she often had to learn
[128:36] day of. Overall, kind of a weird energy
[128:39] getting the sales [ __ ] for this one.
[128:42] So, famously last year, the biggest
[128:44] thing coming out of Cineacon 2025 is
[128:46] everybody thought the Superman
[128:48] presentation was extremely awkward that
[128:51] there was tons of complaints from a lot
[128:52] of people that were in the room. None of
[128:53] our We weren't there last year, but like
[128:55] everybody was saying it went really
[128:57] long. It had weird awkward energy, yada
[128:59] yada yada. So, it's in keeping with
[129:01] that, but Supergirl would also have some
[129:03] string strange energy going on.
[129:06] >> That's really silly.
[129:07] >> I'm going to pop out and pop right back.
[129:09] >> Yes, of course. We'll keep an eye on
[129:11] everything. Zach knocks something over.
[129:12] Zack knock something over. Um, okay.
[129:15] Abby, what of of the many things that
[129:18] have been announced today?
[129:19] >> Yeah.
[129:19] >> What is it that you are looking forward
[129:22] to the most?
[129:23] >> I think Clayface sounds super exciting.
[129:26] >> Yeah, I'm really into that.
[129:27] >> Super just new ground for DC and just
[129:32] everything that the DCU is doing in
[129:34] general.
[129:35] >> Are you old enough to have watched
[129:36] Batman the animated series ever?
[129:38] >> Not live.
[129:39] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but it's good. And
[129:42] the the Clayface episodes I did have to
[129:45] watch very recently for this job.
[129:48] >> Oh, yeah. Yeah.
[129:49] >> Um, and those were good. Those were
[129:50] interesting. So, I I don't know where
[129:52] you guys are getting the period piece. I
[129:54] think that was purely a Zach
[129:56] speculation.
[129:57] >> Could be.
[129:58] >> No, no shade to Zach who's not in the
[130:00] room to himself.
[130:01] >> Batman the animated series does exist in
[130:03] kind of like a
[130:05] >> like a
[130:07] kind of thing. It's all all was written
[130:09] pre- cell phones and such.
[130:11] >> Yeah. So, I don't know. I'm excited. I
[130:13] think it'll be interesting to see if
[130:17] it's how that does because it's a not
[130:20] Superman.
[130:22] >> Yeah. This could be like the Sony
[130:24] villains universe kind of a thing.
[130:27] >> I think the thing I'm the most excited
[130:28] for is the uh Alejandro Ineritu Digger
[130:32] film. I I really loved Birdman. Uh
[130:35] again, I was talking maybe earlier today
[130:37] about how or yesterday about how Zack
[130:40] Kger casting um Bill Scarsgard and
[130:43] Barbarian is like a brilliant casting
[130:45] move. I also think casting Michael
[130:47] Keaton as Birdman was similarly a
[130:48] brilliant brilliant casting move. Um I
[130:51] really love that. I really loved
[130:52] Revenant. Um you know, so I think that
[130:55] might be the thing I'm the most excited
[130:57] for. Clayface would be a close second
[131:00] for me. It definitely stood out today
[131:04] because I feel like everything else bes
[131:07] I mean I wish I could see the alien DJ.
[131:10] >> Yeah. Yeah. We think it's like a
[131:11] xenomorph DJ or like a tow jam and all
[131:14] situation.
[131:15] >> Digger sounded fun.
[131:18] Did we get Minecraft 2 yet?
[131:20] >> I don't know if that's been formally
[131:22] announced. That might be a Universal
[131:24] property. Brian's got a hand up over
[131:26] there.
[131:26] >> That's Warner Brothers. Not a super
[131:28] chat, but um
[131:31] Rockstar Productions 7805 asks makes an
[131:35] interesting point that like Clayface was
[131:38] in Creature Commandos, which is like
[131:39] present day.
[131:40] >> That's true.
[131:41] >> Is this you know, is this that Clayface?
[131:43] Is it the prequel for that clay face or
[131:46] >> I think I forget what Eric's take on it
[131:49] is from the breakdowns, but I do know
[131:53] that James Gun considers it canon, but
[131:56] it's also Oh, no. It's not Clayface cuz
[131:58] it's a guy that's like come is like
[132:01] transformed into Clayface or something.
[132:05] >> Am I making that up?
[132:07] >> I don't know. supposed to have been
[132:08] Clayface but
[132:09] >> like no like it is Clayface but then I
[132:11] think there's something that they can do
[132:13] where they can like because of the plot
[132:15] of the episode I forget. Creature
[132:16] Commandos is a blur to me.
[132:19] >> Yes, it feels like it happened ages ago
[132:22] and I know that it is part of the DC uh
[132:25] James Gunn said it's part of the DCU but
[132:27] it feels I think because of the Marvel
[132:29] animation stuff it just feels so
[132:30] fundamentally separate to me.
[132:32] >> Yes. And yeah, it was a lot but I don't
[132:36] know. I think it is. I think it could
[132:38] be, but I think I would be weirded out
[132:41] if that was canon because he's kind of a
[132:42] loser in that little clip. Like he's
[132:44] playing video games.
[132:45] >> Yeah.
[132:46] >> And gets arrested.
[132:48] >> I don't know. It's been It's
[132:49] >> I think I'm just making stuff up about
[132:50] Clayface on Creature Commandos.
[132:53] >> Um, we got uh Brian's hands up. I assume
[132:55] we got another super chat coming in. Maf
[132:57] 9, I'm so confused. Was the Constantine
[132:59] thing real?
[133:00] >> I don't know.
[133:00] >> We're not sure. We can't find any
[133:02] confirmation of it. So, Eric Voss did
[133:04] not report it, so it can't be real if he
[133:06] did not report it.
[133:07] >> I thought it was like a thing. Or maybe
[133:09] Kiana Reeves just said he would be down
[133:11] to do another one.
[133:12] >> Yeah. Uh, Hangman 9, thank you for your
[133:14] donation. Uh, $5 super chat. Um,
[133:19] yeah, I I there we get stuff in here
[133:21] that's happening in a variety of ways.
[133:24] And you would think given the two
[133:26] screens in front of me that I would have
[133:27] the latitude to go look stuff up, but I
[133:29] got all these chat windows up and such.
[133:31] I'm going to say it's not real.
[133:33] Disgusting film is not reporting it. New
[133:34] Rockstars is not reporting it. Maybe
[133:36] that was it. It It feels like if if that
[133:39] were real, they would be saying it on
[133:40] stage right now and it would be coming
[133:42] out.
[133:46] Yes. Uh let's see.
[133:49] >> Where's the practical magic trailer?
[133:51] >> Yeah, that's what we really want to
[133:52] know.
[133:54] I mean, we're not getting much news
[133:56] coming out. I don't know if this means
[133:57] that they are winding down the panel. uh
[134:01] or if they're just teeing up something.
[134:04] A lot of times on the panel there'll be
[134:06] Sony did this yesterday, a lot of
[134:07] vamping for a specific project.
[134:10] Presumably they got an alien DJ out
[134:11] there. They got to wait for that guy to
[134:13] finish up his set. You know, it's a
[134:14] Tiestto from Jupiter or something like
[134:16] that. Um,
[134:19] so, uh, we will see.
[134:28] >> Anyone want to challenge the beer? The
[134:30] bureau?
[134:31] >> This This could be Bureau and it could
[134:33] have
[134:35] >> your name on it.
[134:36] >> Specifically, my name because I'll be
[134:37] drinking it, but then I will be shouting
[134:38] your name. So again, whoever has the
[134:41] most cumulative super chats and the uh
[134:44] largest single dollar super chat, I will
[134:46] drink a bureau in your name during the
[134:47] Disney panel. Uh and I'm I'm willing to
[134:50] drink more than two bureaus during a
[134:52] during a panel, too. Okay.
[134:54] >> I like the concept of you two bureaus in
[134:57] watching the Doomsday
[134:58] >> trailer. Double fisting bureaus. Just
[135:00] >> drank two bureaus. Dare me to drive. You
[135:02] know,
[135:03] >> just just a a little bloated and a
[135:05] little gassy, but stone sober. I wish
[135:08] I'd thought of it before the Sony panel
[135:09] because it's more appropriate for a Tom
[135:11] Holland type of thing. And actually, we
[135:14] might see Tom Holland tomorrow because
[135:16] he's in he's in Odyssey.
[135:18] >> Yeah,
[135:18] >> I bet him and Zenaia are staying at
[135:20] Caesar's Palace.
[135:21] >> He but he videoed in for the Sony thing
[135:23] yesterday. So, he's in Vegas and just
[135:26] like videoing in from like the floor of
[135:28] the MGM or something like that.
[135:30] >> What's he doing?
[135:30] >> He's busy shooting craps. Uh, pray for
[135:34] pray for Jessica Clemens uh being in a
[135:37] Vegas casino. I'm not saying she has a
[135:39] gambling problem, but I know she enjoys
[135:40] a little gambling and we've had company
[135:42] outings to Yamova. So, it's like I just
[135:44] hope she's
[135:46] >> she's up, you know what I mean?
[135:47] >> We got a super chat here from uh Murray
[135:51] in the mix. Uh, pound 99. Uh, thank you,
[135:54] Gov. Uh, Sebastian Stan is Too Faced. Is
[135:57] this happening? I believe that was
[135:59] confirmed a while back. Well, he's going
[136:01] to be Harvey Dent.
[136:02] >> Yeah, he's been confirmed to be in the
[136:04] movie. And I think yeah, the the the
[136:06] word was Harvey Dent, but um we don't
[136:08] know if Harvey Dent meets his
[136:11] two-facedness over the course of this
[136:13] film or if he uh if that'll happen in
[136:15] some other movies.
[136:15] >> Yeah, it might just be setting him up
[136:16] for later. Or it might just also be
[136:18] like, hey, here's we needed a district
[136:19] attorney. We're not going to have it be
[136:22] some random district attorney.
[136:23] >> The the other big news there, we know
[136:25] Scarlett Johansson has been cast in the
[136:26] film, but we don't know what role she is
[136:28] playing. Yes, that's still that is still
[136:31] up in the air. Uh there have been some
[136:33] theories. None of them feel like they
[136:35] particularly have the weight of anything
[136:37] beyond speculation in my opinion. Um but
[136:40] maybe we will find out uh what's going
[136:42] on here.
[136:47] Okay, friendly reminder chat. I'm seeing
[136:49] a lot of you guys getting uppety with
[136:52] one another. Just chill. It's okay. Some
[136:55] of you love us, some of you don't. It's
[136:56] all right. you got any aggression on me?
[136:58] Um, I'm thick skinned and I can't read.
[137:01] So, I will never see any of your chats.
[137:04] Uh, you can't hurt me. What what I can't
[137:06] read can't hurt me.
[137:08] >> Yeah, there you go.
[137:10] >> There you go.
[137:14] >> Um, yeah. So, to to recap, we are
[137:17] watching the Warner Brothers panel at
[137:19] Cineacon 2026. Eric Voss and Jessica
[137:22] Clemens are seated in the room. They are
[137:24] seeing all of this with their own eyes.
[137:26] Uh Eric is tweeting on the new Rockstar
[137:28] Twitter account, uh X account, and we
[137:30] were kind of reporting that from that
[137:31] source and a combination of other
[137:33] sources.
[137:33] >> While we're waiting on more news to come
[137:34] in, can we get the schedule up, Brian,
[137:36] for when we're going to be doing
[137:38] coverage further on in the week?
[137:40] >> Um because there are going to be panels
[137:42] every day. They're not all at the same
[137:44] time. Uh yeah, thank you, Brian. So,
[137:47] tomorrow, um uh the Universal panel
[137:50] starts at 3:30 in the afternoon. We're
[137:52] going to be here covering that.
[137:54] Thursday, the Disney panel is where
[137:56] we're expecting to get some Doomsday
[137:58] news for those of you who've been asking
[138:00] um in the chat. Uh so that's going to be
[138:03] uh Thursday live at 2 PM. And you better
[138:05] believe that if there is an Avengers
[138:07] trailer or or anything like that, we're
[138:10] going to be breaking it down on the
[138:11] channel as soon as possible. Um and then
[138:14] also while we're talking about things
[138:15] going on later this week, Brian, can you
[138:16] pull up the Morbius uh uh graphic,
[138:19] please?
[138:19] >> Oh, yeah. Uh, New Rockstars is going to
[138:22] be doing a live show at UCB Los Angeles,
[138:25] April 17th at 7 p.m. If you're in LA,
[138:29] you can come to the theater and watch us
[138:30] do the live show. If you're not in LA,
[138:33] you can buy a ticket to a to get a live
[138:36] stream so that you can watch along uh
[138:38] with everybody else. Carl Tart is going
[138:40] to be there uh writer on Saturday Night
[138:42] Live. You saw him in Wonderman recently.
[138:44] He was the late night host uh giving
[138:46] Doorman a hard time in the uh Doorman
[138:49] episode. written by Zeke Nik Zeke
[138:51] Nicholson, um, friend of the channel.
[138:53] Um, but that's going to be, uh, this
[138:55] Friday, April 17th at 7 p.m. Uh, link to
[138:58] the tickets uh, in the description.
[139:00] Otherwise, go to ucbcomdy.com, you'll be
[139:02] able to navigate towards tickets there.
[139:06] Um, okay. I'm seeing another super chat
[139:09] uh, here from Lost Chief. Brian, if we
[139:12] could pull that up. Uh,5 Brazilian
[139:15] dollars. I eagerly await for Black Adam
[139:18] 2. We're still getting that, right? Oh,
[139:20] yeah. I mean, oh yeah.
[139:22] >> Change the hierarchy of power in the DC
[139:24] universe.
[139:25] >> It's coming so soon. So soon.
[139:27] >> We are all living in a post Black Adam
[139:30] world.
[139:31] >> I mean, we really are. DC Studios more
[139:33] so than anyone else.
[139:34] >> That's why Henry Caval, we were talking
[139:37] about him earlier. That's why he's
[139:38] there.
[139:39] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Black Adam.
[139:41] >> Black Adam, too.
[139:41] >> Yeah.
[139:42] >> He's just coming out to say Superman's
[139:43] got beat real bad. Um
[139:46] >> it's Wow. I mean the you know post post
[139:50] superhero or like uh you know superhero
[139:53] fatigue people talk about the run DC the
[139:57] DC EU ended on
[139:59] >> tough
[140:00] >> I'm talking about Shazam 2 Aquaman 2 the
[140:03] Flash Black Adam I mean real tough
[140:06] >> a run for the ages if you want to
[140:09] sprinkle in a Joker Folly I do in there
[140:11] though it's technically a different
[140:12] canon I mean there nothing no run Marvel
[140:16] has ever been on compares to that like
[140:19] two-year window uh that DC hit. Bless
[140:22] him.
[140:23] >> Bless him.
[140:24] >> Yeah, that was that was tough.
[140:26] >> All right, we may be getting a Supergirl
[140:27] footage description coming in soon um
[140:30] from Eric. Uh we're hearing that there
[140:33] is some footage being shown there. Uh
[140:35] Brian, I don't know if we can get the
[140:37] timeline refreshed over here.
[140:40] >> I'm not seeing any new tweets.
[140:42] >> No new tweets. Uh, but we know Eric's
[140:44] got fast fingers and a thorough sense of
[140:46] transcription to say the least.
[140:49] >> We know if if he's not tweeting, it
[140:51] ain't happening. Um, okay. But
[140:53] discussing film has something. So, I'll
[140:55] start reading this and then maybe keep
[140:56] refreshing and I'm sure Eric will have
[140:57] it out in a second. A new sequence for
[140:59] Supergirl shows Cara on an intergalactic
[141:02] bus that is raided by pirates slowly
[141:05] kickstarting an action sequence. My
[141:08] dog's dying, so I don't really have time
[141:10] for this, she says. Okay.
[141:12] >> Now, I I I speak for my girlfriend who
[141:16] is a dog lover. The dog dying is a hard
[141:19] pass for her on the entire film.
[141:21] >> Now, dog in peril period or only if the
[141:24] dog ultimately dies.
[141:25] >> Dog in peril period. She wouldn't even
[141:27] watch She loves horror movies. She
[141:28] wouldn't watch that good boy horror
[141:29] movie because she would be too worried
[141:31] about the dog the whole time. You all
[141:33] saw her yesterday. She came in here to
[141:34] look at kittens and almost melted down.
[141:36] >> Yeah. Um, uh, you know, so I'm wondering
[141:39] in the chat, is A Dog in Peril going to
[141:42] be a deal breakaker for you if it's a
[141:44] critical plot element of this film? I
[141:46] don't care. I hate dogs. I hate animals.
[141:48] If I had a cigarette and a dog right
[141:50] now, I would put the cigarette out on
[141:52] the dog. That's how I feel.
[141:53] >> Clip this. Clip this.
[141:54] >> That's how I feel. Um,
[141:56] >> I can't read otherwise I would clip it.
[141:57] Uh, okay. We're getting a super chat
[141:59] coming in.
[142:00] >> Hands up.
[142:00] >> Hannah Basso coming through. My super
[142:02] chat goes to a massage for Eric's hands
[142:04] for typing. Yeah, I would be cramped up
[142:06] after after a day on the thumbs on the
[142:09] phone.
[142:09] >> His plan was to bring his laptop in.
[142:12] Hopefully, he's getting good Wi-Fi in
[142:14] there. Um I think he probably has a
[142:16] laptop and a and a phone going
[142:18] concurrently. And again, he's also
[142:20] recording a Daredevil Born Again
[142:22] breakdown in the ruins.
[142:24] >> He's doing it right now cuz Daredevil
[142:26] just came out at 6.
[142:27] >> That's right. So, he's currently
[142:28] watching that episode. Our our breakdown
[142:30] will be out shortly.
[142:31] >> A lot of people in the chat giving me
[142:33] crap for my dog comments. I want to
[142:34] clarify. I own two dogs. They're both
[142:36] pampered as hell. There's a dog bed. We
[142:39] don't even have a dog in the office
[142:41] today. And I want to show you
[142:43] >> this is Gigi's dog bed. It not only is a
[142:46] dog bed for Gigi, but it also has a
[142:49] custom knit blanket just for Gigi. This
[142:52] is the level of actual pampering my dogs
[142:54] get.
[142:55] >> But an imaginary dog that I didn't like,
[142:59] oh, it's going to have a rough time. My
[143:02] take I also was against on the latest
[143:04] Supergirl trailer. I was not about the
[143:07] whole dog in peril.
[143:08] >> Yeah.
[143:09] >> And I said that and I was like, I don't
[143:10] know if I can do this. And Eric and then
[143:13] I also worked on the breakdown, but Eric
[143:15] did tell me that in the comics that gets
[143:19] resolved pretty.
[143:20] >> Yes. And Krypto,
[143:22] >> he's a super dog.
[143:24] >> Krypto is fine. He will survive this
[143:26] film, but he will be in some danger. He
[143:28] might be sick. Might be some sad Krypto
[143:29] for a couple minutes. And I understand
[143:31] if that's a dealbreaker for you. We got
[143:32] another super chat coming through.
[143:33] Brian, uh, Benji Goat, will there be
[143:37] over under 20% merch?
[143:39] >> Over
[143:39] >> over under over under 20% that there
[143:43] might be over under 20% merch.
[143:45] >> Oh, I think we can make it happen. I
[143:48] think we can make it happen. I think if
[143:49] we have it by Thursday, we're selling
[143:50] over under merch on the channel. I I
[143:53] will hand make with uh some good
[143:56] permanent Sharpies, some over under 20%
[143:57] merch, and give it away to the person
[143:59] whose name I call out uh for Bureau.
[144:02] Okay, we got another super chat coming
[144:04] through.
[144:06] Uh Marvel Pirate, our friend back again.
[144:08] If you reveal a dog at risk, it doesn't
[144:11] die.
[144:11] >> I hope not.
[144:12] >> It's kind of the old save the cat uh
[144:14] thing. I'm trying to think of the last
[144:15] time I saw an a pet legit die. John Wick
[144:19] in a work of fiction. John Wick.
[144:20] >> First John Wick,
[144:21] >> the pilot of House of Cards. Um, Old
[144:25] Yeller.
[144:27] >> Yeah, Old Yeller was like a Mercy sort
[144:29] of situation.
[144:30] >> Marley and Me.
[144:31] >> Very.
[144:32] >> Does Doug die? Marley and Me?
[144:33] >> Yeah.
[144:33] >> Damn. I never saw it. Um, I don't like
[144:37] reggae. Um, that's why I stayed away.
[144:41] >> It's No, I actually do like reggae, but
[144:44] that's I wanted to honor the music by
[144:46] not, you know.
[144:46] >> Yeah, we got
[144:47] >> um Okay. Uh oh, we got more super chats
[144:50] coming through, Bryant.
[144:52] >> Okay. Ooh, Seahawks fan. Tough. Tough.
[144:56] The champ 86855.
[144:59] I feel the same way about dogs. Mostly
[145:01] due to suffering from cyophobia. If I
[145:03] see a dog, I'm sprinting for the hills.
[145:05] >> What's sophobia? Fear of dogs.
[145:07] >> Is that that is fear of dogs?
[145:08] Interesting.
[145:09] >> The Greek root. Um, hey man, I'll tell
[145:13] you this. I get your fear of dogs, but
[145:15] some of them are real cute and cuddly.
[145:16] Uh, we got another super chat from Oh,
[145:18] no. We got we got Eric's uh description.
[145:21] >> Okay, this is a long one here. I can
[145:22] read it here. Um, okay. Supergirl shown
[145:25] to the crowd at Cineacon. The scene
[145:27] shows Supergirl on a transport ship
[145:30] leaving Ruthie's home world. Cara gives
[145:34] a nearby bong smoking alien some gum to
[145:37] chew. Dog, this ain't your mama's
[145:40] Supergirl. uh and then sees Ruthie in an
[145:42] argument with the alien fair collector
[145:45] for accidentally insulting them. Cara
[145:47] had left Ruthie behind to look after a
[145:50] wounded crypto, but Ruthie decided to
[145:52] join in the vengeance quest against
[145:55] Creme. The ship is raided by tech
[145:58] pirates with teleporters. They steal
[146:00] Carara's pocket watch and Ruthie's
[146:02] sword. Cara has snatched one of the
[146:04] teleporting bracelets and uses it to
[146:07] fight the raiders. at one point
[146:08] accidentally teleporting inside of a
[146:11] large alien and crawling out.
[146:13] Ultimately, Cara is trapped in an
[146:15] airlock. She tells the pilots to pilot
[146:19] closer to a nearby yellow sun. Cara puts
[146:21] on a space suit to try to float out
[146:23] closer to it, but the pirate captain
[146:26] blows her out of the airlock. Luckily,
[146:28] her frozen body gets enveloped in
[146:30] sunlight and her powers return. Cara
[146:32] rips all the grappling bots off the
[146:35] transport ship, but now the pirate ship
[146:38] blasts her into a ship debris field.
[146:40] Cara uses her heat vision to fight back,
[146:43] shot shown in trailers, and rips off the
[146:45] engines of the pirate ship, but does not
[146:47] kill them. Wow, that is that a 40 second
[146:52] sequence or is that like a seven minute?
[146:54] >> That was way more going on there.
[146:56] Disgusting.
[146:57] >> And it's also like it kind of blew my
[146:58] mind. It was like, oh, the whole thing
[147:00] is in space, of course.
[147:02] I'm like, "Oh, wait."
[147:04] But no, the whole thing's in space, but
[147:06] she's like maybe going back and forth
[147:09] between multiple ships. It's a little
[147:10] hard to follow that, but that sounds
[147:12] like a wild and very fun action
[147:14] sequence.
[147:15] >> Yes, absolutely. I mean, you know, uh,
[147:18] Craig Gillespie obviously has like a
[147:19] very good sense of humor. And I think
[147:21] that, uh, everyone has been praising
[147:24] since this movie started shooting how
[147:26] practical the stunts are and how much of
[147:28] of them is like Billy Alco just being
[147:30] like, I trained all morning. Let's
[147:32] actually go punch some people and stuff.
[147:34] And so, I'm I'm optimistic for this
[147:36] movie. You know, I know the budget's a
[147:38] little bit low. You know, it feels like
[147:40] it's a very smallcale superhero film. I
[147:43] kind of want that.
[147:44] >> Yes. I don't want every superhero movie
[147:46] to have to feel like we're saving the
[147:47] city, the world, the universe. I I love
[147:50] it when a movie like Wonderman I thought
[147:52] was a great example of like I'm just
[147:54] trying to keep my relationship with my
[147:55] friend, you know, like that those
[147:57] personal stakes I think really
[147:58] >> Yes. And honestly, if we're going to
[148:00] trust,
[148:01] >> you know, not that James Gunn is
[148:02] directing this, but is producing this,
[148:04] are we going to trust anybody else with
[148:06] like a a uh a light-hearted space
[148:09] superhero romp more so than a James Gunn
[148:12] produced film? Like, yes. Uh Brian, we
[148:14] got another super chat coming through.
[148:15] >> We got a more additional tweet.
[148:17] >> Oh, a new tweet here. We'll refresh.
[148:20] >> Expanded trailer montage.
[148:22] Uh among the new shots are images of
[148:24] Cara and Krypto being loaded into a
[148:26] spherical escape pod by Zorel to leave
[148:29] the doomed floating Argo City. And a new
[148:31] shot of Superman from Carara's
[148:33] perspective in the moment she arrives on
[148:35] Earth as he opens the pod and greets his
[148:37] cousin. Hi there.
[148:39] >> Interesting. So we we haven't seen much
[148:42] of Supergirl on Earth in any of the
[148:44] previous trailers. In fact, am I
[148:45] correct? And the only time we've ever
[148:46] seen Supergirl on Earth is in the
[148:48] postredit.
[148:49] Yeah.
[148:50] >> Right. So like is this
[148:52] >> how much of the movie takes place on
[148:54] Earth? I I don't know. Interesting.
[148:56] Maybe none. Maybe a little bit. Maybe a
[148:57] lot. Uh do we have another super chat,
[148:59] Brian?
[148:59] >> Oh, we do. But uh first I mean Supergirl
[149:02] was also in the uh Peacemaker like that
[149:05] one scene technically.
[149:06] >> Oh, yeah. kind of kind of crop her
[149:08] silhouette into the background of that
[149:10] scene. Yeah. So, she has been on Earth,
[149:12] but like I didn't know if any of this
[149:14] movie would take place on Earth,
[149:15] >> but we do have a super chat, but I don't
[149:17] know if it's uh
[149:19] >> Okay. Uh Carson Robinson over under 20%
[149:22] will return title card. Possibly the
[149:25] Maybe you got cut off there, Carson.
[149:26] Sorry about that. Um will return like as
[149:29] in um
[149:30] >> uh Star-Lord will return or whatever
[149:33] that we sometimes see at the end of
[149:34] these films. Um, like Supergirl will
[149:38] return in Man of Tomorrow or
[149:40] >> I just want to point out Abby, Eric is
[149:42] trolling you on Slack because you said
[149:44] we need wig pics. Clearly meaning him
[149:46] and Jess. He sent you a wig pick of Jeff
[149:49] Snider
[149:51] along with a tweet that said, "The box
[149:52] said do not open, but fortunately for
[149:54] you, I am the only person who dared to
[149:56] break the rules in the press section at
[149:58] Cineacon. We've got a press corps full
[150:00] of rule followers, folks." and a picture
[150:02] of him wearing
[150:03] >> Wow, what a what a stone cold rebelled
[150:06] badass Jeff Snider is.
[150:08] >> It's like it's like I'm hanging out with
[150:10] Iggy Pop.
[150:11] >> Yeah,
[150:12] >> shout out Jeff,
[150:14] >> I guess.
[150:16] >> I do know Jeff and he has been very nice
[150:18] to me.
[150:19] >> Okay. Yes, I've corresponded lately with
[150:21] him. But and he is a uh he really
[150:23] embraces that iconoclastic image online,
[150:27] certainly in his newsletters and tweets
[150:29] and things like that. but he also breaks
[150:31] a fair amount of news. Uh, so he he's
[150:33] doing the work.
[150:34] >> Um, okay, great. Wow. Uh, I'm excited. I
[150:38] wonder if we get We probably will not It
[150:40] sounds like if they were shown a full
[150:42] scene. I bet we do not get that full
[150:43] scene.
[150:44] >> No, but we might get that extended
[150:45] trailer montage in like an updated
[150:48] trailer or something or a new teaser or,
[150:51] you know, um, I I could see that showing
[150:54] up, but yeah, I I doubt we'll see that
[150:56] full action sequence that they show.
[150:58] >> Okay. and Carson Robinson from the last
[151:00] uh super chat. I meant as in overunder
[151:03] will return Thursday. I meant Thursday.
[151:07] >> Is your question will we continue to
[151:09] beat this bit into the ground? My man
[151:12] over 100%.
[151:14] >> Yes. We're doing merch.
[151:16] >> Yeah, there will be merch. There will be
[151:17] I mean even if I wanted it to die, you
[151:20] guys would never let it die.
[151:21] >> We're still doing Tiny Kisses and that
[151:23] was D23 two years ago.
[151:24] >> Has somebody brought up Fleshy? Has
[151:26] somebody brought up
[151:27] >> trash bags are in the trash?
[151:28] >> Trash bags in the trash. The raccoon
[151:30] bone ponies.
[151:33] I mean, guys, what do we have if not the
[151:35] memes? Um, okay.
[151:38] >> Um, oh, just uh yeah, still no practical
[151:42] magic as far as we know. Um,
[151:45] uh, haven't been talked about. They
[151:47] haven't gotten to Dune yet. Uh, so
[151:49] there's still there's a lot of meat on
[151:51] the old Warner Brothers bone, I would
[151:53] say. Um, still.
[151:54] >> Yeah.
[151:57] Yeah, they're still going strong.
[152:01] Oh, here we go. Little Practical Magic
[152:03] 2. Uh, there's a very fun and loose
[152:05] panel on Practical Magic 2 with Sandra
[152:07] Bulock and Nicole Kidman on stage right
[152:09] now at Cineacon and Jessica Clemens is
[152:11] sitting next to me hanging on every
[152:14] word.
[152:14] >> I'm surprised she's not rushing the
[152:17] stage.
[152:17] >> Yeah, honestly. Yeah, we were worried
[152:18] about Jess in Vegas, but this is really
[152:20] the bigger threat. Wait, Overunder.
[152:22] Someone gets served custody papers.
[152:25] >> Oh, that was it. That's a great call
[152:28] back, Abby. Was it two years ago at
[152:30] Cineacon? Um Olivia Wild was presenting
[152:34] her movie, Don't Worry, Baby. She was
[152:36] served um she was served divorce papers
[152:39] via Jason Sudakus by a process server
[152:43] while presenting her film at Cineacon.
[152:46] >> Yeah, that was really that was a a bad
[152:48] look for Sudakus, I would say. Yeah, but
[152:50] apparently he couldn't reach her.
[152:53] >> Yeah. Yeah, that's the only way to do
[152:54] it.
[152:55] >> Insane.
[152:56] >> Only way to do it.
[152:57] >> Having having had to serve papers to
[152:59] somebody, there's other ways. You could
[153:01] have met her backstage.
[153:03] >> Um, we'll revisit that in a future
[153:05] stream that you've had to serve papers
[153:07] to somebody, but
[153:08] >> um interesting. Uh, yeah. So, the um the
[153:12] Warner Brothers movies we haven't heard
[153:13] about yet. Doom part 3. Uh, we're
[153:16] currently hearing about Practical Magic.
[153:18] Uh, The Great Beyond, the JJ, the
[153:20] mysterious J.J. Abrams movie. Still
[153:22] haven't heard anything about that.
[153:24] That's coming out November of this year.
[153:26] We got The Cat in the Hat. We got
[153:27] Clayface. We We got Supergirl. We got
[153:30] Digger. Um, we got the end of Oak Street
[153:35] and Evil Dead Burn. Um, and Mortal
[153:40] Kombat 2. We did get a little bit of
[153:42] Mortal Kombat 2, I believe. Right. Yeah.
[153:44] Um, and that's that's it so far. Okay,
[153:48] so the big ones left, Dune 3 and um The
[153:52] Great Beyond, which we may or may not
[153:54] hear anything about. Very secretive
[153:56] production.
[153:57] >> Filming The Great Beyond.
[153:58] >> It's coming out in November. I believe
[154:00] it's already been finished. Yeah.
[154:02] >> That has Glenn Powell, uh Jenna Ortega,
[154:04] Emma Mackey, Samuel L. Jackson,
[154:07] Meritt Weaver, uh written and directed
[154:10] by J.J. Abrams, we made news last week
[154:12] because he closed his LA office. Uh, let
[154:15] go of a bunch of staff. Uh,
[154:17] >> I'll tell you this, having been to that
[154:18] Bad Robot office exactly once for an
[154:21] audition that I did not get and Ben
[154:23] Schwarz rightly beat me for,
[154:26] >> uh, they had a phenomenal collection of
[154:29] old typewriters, cool old sci-fi toys
[154:32] like phasers and stuff, and Star Wars
[154:35] replica props. It was [ __ ] rad. It
[154:38] was just like the coolest waiting room
[154:40] I've ever been in for anything in my
[154:42] life. I was outclassed the second I
[154:45] walked in. Um, it was it was rad. It was
[154:48] a very cool building. It was a very cool
[154:49] building.
[154:49] >> I bet that sounds awesome.
[154:51] >> Yeah. A loss a loss to the LA film
[154:53] community.
[154:55] Okay, let's see. Uh, looking like uh Zen
[154:58] Zena, uh, Deny Nov and Timi are taking
[155:02] pics right now.
[155:03] >> Oh, Timmy's there.
[155:05] So presumably uh we will get some Dune 3
[155:09] news shortly. I hope they lead the whole
[155:11] crowd through the Dune 3 chant with like
[155:14] a karaoke bouncing ball kind of thing.
[155:17] Um uh
[155:18] >> what if he does the voice?
[155:20] >> Would love it. Would love it.
[155:22] >> Oh, hell yeah. Or the
[155:24] uh discussing film has a little bit more
[155:27] on Practical Magic 2. The first teaser
[155:29] for Practical Magic 2 sees the duo
[155:31] reintroduce how everyone they love dies.
[155:34] It's not great for the Tinder bio is the
[155:37] quote. Um, okay. Fun. I don't I don't
[155:40] recall much of the plot of the original
[155:41] Practical Magic, so I don't know how
[155:43] >> uh it is.
[155:45] >> They
[155:46] they accidentally somehow reincarnate
[155:50] uh like a very like I think they murder
[155:53] uh a a abusive boyfriend that Nicole
[155:56] Kidman has cuz she's kind of a wild
[155:58] child. Then um uh the two aunt witches
[156:02] drink a bottle of tequila they found out
[156:04] on the porch, but that bottle of tequila
[156:06] somehow brings that guy's ghost back and
[156:09] then they have to deal with it. Um and
[156:12] then at the end at Halloween, they all
[156:14] come down holding hands off the roof cuz
[156:16] the whole town knows they're witches and
[156:18] that's like, okay.
[156:19] >> Okay.
[156:19] >> Um
[156:20] >> interesting. Uh, I do love I'm seeing uh
[156:22] media updates has a picture uh from like
[156:25] kind of red carpet at Cineacon of Timmy
[156:27] Shalamé and Dea and she's she's wearing
[156:30] a hot couture gown that looks like a
[156:33] statue and he's in jeans.
[156:37] Jeans and like a frumpy jacket and I
[156:40] love it.
[156:40] >> You know, Brian's got it up on the
[156:42] screen here.
[156:42] >> It's so great.
[156:43] >> Typical man.
[156:44] >> There it is. There it is.
[156:46] >> Yes.
[156:46] >> Isn't that great? I mean, they're at
[156:48] least they're kind of color coded.
[156:49] They're both They both got the sand
[156:51] energy, you know what I mean? Which is
[156:53] appropriate. But
[156:54] >> Tim Timothy Shalamé looks like he just
[156:56] came back from like uh me and my friends
[156:58] were on a speedboat and we fired off AKs
[157:00] and smoked cigars.
[157:01] >> I I do love too um there's another photo
[157:04] that has them with Denuv and Jason Mamoa
[157:06] who gets to pull double duty to go back
[157:09] to back talk Supergirl and Dune because
[157:12] uh as was already shown in the first
[157:14] trailer for Dune 3, his character gets
[157:16] brought back to life in Dune 3.
[157:19] There you go. Okay.
[157:20] >> Duncan Idaho. One of the best fictional
[157:22] character names of all time or the worst
[157:24] depending on your opinion there. Um,
[157:27] >> uh, oh
[157:29] Dorian's $10 super chat. Variety has the
[157:31] pick of Mimo on the Lobo Lobo motorcycle
[157:34] and with some of these other picks that
[157:35] we're checking out. Uh, new tweet. JJ
[157:38] Abrams is taking the stage at Cineacon
[157:40] right now to talk about his first film
[157:42] since 2019's Rise of Skywalker: The
[157:44] Great Beyond.
[157:45] >> There it is. It's a documentary about
[157:48] his proctologist and the struggles that
[157:50] they went through on a hunt for
[157:52] >> polyp. I I think it's actually a
[157:54] documentary about everybody's pl
[157:56] favorite place to buy bath mats and
[158:00] >> uh mixers the Bed Bath and Beyond. Um
[158:03] the great Bed Bath and Beyond Bed Bath
[158:05] and Beyond.
[158:06] >> Uh very interesting. Again, it'll be
[158:08] interesting too how uh close to the vest
[158:10] they keep this movie. Like, do they give
[158:11] us a trailer that explains the plot at
[158:14] all or uh they must, right? Um,
[158:19] okay. I'm I'm searching around. Can we
[158:22] find that the pick of Mimoa on the
[158:25] >> Loa?
[158:27] >> I would love to see it.
[158:29] >> Yeah, I think I could pull it up on
[158:30] Variety's Twitter.
[158:37] Okay, let's see. None of these are the
[158:38] Variety Twitter pick.
[158:43] There we go. Hello.
[158:44] >> That's pretty cool.
[158:45] >> I mean, and it's practical like it it it
[158:48] rides.
[158:48] >> That's going to be at the Peterson
[158:49] Automotive Museum in 6 months. I know
[158:52] it.
[158:52] >> Also, I mean, it reminds me it's a
[158:54] little bit like the Dark Knight
[158:55] motorcycle where it's just giant fat
[158:57] tires or or I guess the Batman had a
[159:00] giant fat tired motorcycle as well.
[159:02] There's a great uh clip of the stunt man
[159:05] trying to drive it through that
[159:06] graveyard and wiping out that
[159:08] >> because uh there's a reason normal
[159:10] motorcycles don't have giant fat tires.
[159:12] It does not make them easy to ride. Uh
[159:14] >> yeah, if you're going straight, it's no
[159:16] problem. If you're trying to turn, it's
[159:17] no good.
[159:18] >> Yes, that looks great. And again, he
[159:22] looks at home on it.
[159:23] >> Yes, he really does.
[159:24] >> There's not another man alive, maybe
[159:26] besides Norman Reos, who looked more on
[159:28] >> I enjoy the grin on his face in that
[159:30] photo of just total kid in a candy shop.
[159:32] Look at me. I get to ride a big silly
[159:34] motorcycle.
[159:34] >> Yes.
[159:36] >> Do we think Lobo will survive?
[159:39] >> Yes.
[159:39] >> Yeah, I think so. I think I think he's
[159:41] going to be someone who pops up as like
[159:43] a a continual punching bag who can punch
[159:45] back
[159:46] >> over under 20%.
[159:49] We see in our lifetimes a Lobo solo
[159:52] film.
[159:53] >> Oh, I think over
[159:55] >> I I think if audiences respond well to
[159:57] Mimoa um
[159:58] >> maybe a streaming show
[160:00] >> at the very least. Yeah, Lobo on HBO.
[160:03] HBO.
[160:04] >> HBO. HBO.
[160:05] >> Maybe it's have to pull the budget if
[160:07] it's a I mean, he's such an
[160:08] intergalactic character. I know. I mean,
[160:10] of course, he can show up on Earth, but
[160:11] like you kind of want to see him in
[160:13] space, so like I don't know if they
[160:14] could maybe they could pull that off,
[160:16] >> but also like it seems like, you know,
[160:17] the the scenes we've seen of him in the
[160:19] trailer so far, it's like he's in space
[160:21] for sure, but he's in like a dive bar in
[160:23] space, you know? He's not like out among
[160:25] the Ada Karina Neb nebula, you know?
[160:28] Like I think I think we could see a
[160:30] pretty practical Lobo.
[160:33] >> Um
[160:34] >> pretty practical magic.
[160:35] >> Pretty practical magic. Yeah. Lobo and
[160:37] practical magic over under 20%.
[160:38] >> Is practical magic too going to explore
[160:40] at all how um these two witches in their
[160:44] 50s uh haven't aged very much in the 30
[160:47] years since. Um
[160:47] >> it's practical magic. It's the most
[160:49] practical magic there is.
[160:50] >> I feel like it could be very easily made
[160:51] canon about what?
[160:52] >> Yeah.
[160:54] >> Wow. We look great. It must be the
[160:56] magic.
[161:01] Also, I mean, there's no actor that's
[161:04] acted more than Nicole Kidman over the
[161:06] last 20 years. I mean, I feel like
[161:07] >> I don't know if she like takes a day
[161:08] off.
[161:09] >> I don't think she does.
[161:10] >> And and like her agents must just have
[161:13] like a giant whiteboard that is just
[161:16] jengaing how she can go directly from
[161:18] filming this to filming this cuz she has
[161:20] like every year she's in three TV shows
[161:22] and like four movies.
[161:23] >> Yeah. And and like those TV shows, those
[161:26] take a long time. Even if it's like an
[161:28] eight six, eight episode miniseries,
[161:29] it's shoot month.
[161:30] >> Like even a even a major role in a
[161:32] movie, you can shoot out in two three
[161:34] weeks. Yeah. You know, but like those TV
[161:35] shows, you got to be around for a
[161:37] minute, you know. Yes.
[161:38] >> Um
[161:38] >> and kudos to her for working. She does a
[161:41] lot of good work. Uh she also
[161:43] prioritizes working with female
[161:44] directors, which is something a lot of
[161:45] other even big female actresses don't
[161:48] do. and like she's still taking weird
[161:50] risks and makes a lot of strange
[161:51] projects in addition to kind of like
[161:52] pulpy uh crowd crowd-pleasing stuff as
[161:55] well. Um okay.
[161:58] >> All right. We have a a Slack update from
[162:01] Eric Lol. Guys, the panel is still
[162:04] going. So, there is still stuff
[162:06] happening in Vegas.
[162:08] >> Stay in line at the panel.
[162:10] >> Stay seated. They're still paneling. We
[162:12] haven't gotten to Dune yet.
[162:14] >> While we're waiting, let's do a quick
[162:15] plug for Nerd Riot. It's been a minute.
[162:17] Uh, nerdriot.shop is uh where we sell uh
[162:22] all sorts of merch, tees, hoodies,
[162:24] beanies, coffee cups, uh with designs
[162:27] from your favorite fandoms. Uh Zach's
[162:29] about to hold up the uh which one design
[162:32] from uh Spider-Man uh Brand New Day
[162:35] coming out. We've got uh Daredevil
[162:38] designs. This one's for Mando and Grou.
[162:39] We got a bunch of Star Wars helmets.
[162:41] >> Um
[162:42] >> I mean this is the the classic.
[162:45] >> Yeah, new mask.
[162:47] That's nerdriot.shop. Great way to
[162:49] directly support us. But breaking news.
[162:51] We have a new tweet on the screen behind
[162:53] us since I started talking.
[162:54] >> The Great Beyond, written and directed
[162:56] by J.J. Abrams, is an original film
[162:59] coming November 13th, 2026. It stars
[163:02] Glenn Powell, Jenna Ortega, Emma Mackey,
[163:05] Sophie Okanedo, Merritt Weaver, and
[163:06] Samuel. Jackson. Abrams says the film is
[163:09] about reconnecting with that sense of
[163:10] wonder we had as kids. Big story with
[163:13] huge scale, otherworldly consequences.
[163:15] Glenn Powell plays a character who
[163:17] peaked in high school. And the O in the
[163:20] movie's title logo is a spiral portal.
[163:22] Footage coming soon.
[163:25] >> Okay.
[163:25] >> I'm still not convinced it's not about a
[163:27] proctologologist. Yeah.
[163:28] >> Because what portal would have more
[163:30] otherworldly consequences
[163:33] uh than than a hole that sucks you in? A
[163:35] black hole of some kind. I don't know.
[163:37] Um
[163:38] >> interesting. Big story with huge scale
[163:40] in other worldly sequences. It
[163:42] immediately makes me think of Flight of
[163:44] the Navigator, you know, like that that
[163:47] era of film.
[163:48] >> What was the JJ Abrams movie? Was it 16
[163:50] millimeter? Super
[163:52] >> eight different was the Nicholas Cage
[163:55] one about films, but Super Eight, which
[163:58] was like an original uh sci-fi film, but
[164:01] kind of like Yeah, maybe it's in that
[164:03] vein. I love like isn't Glenn Powell
[164:06] just is this the 50th time he's played a
[164:08] character that peaked in high school?
[164:10] >> Hey, if it works, it works. That's
[164:12] right.
[164:12] >> I could when he read that I was like,
[164:14] "Oh,
[164:15] >> that's who you cast. If you need a guy
[164:17] that's like too good,
[164:19] >> I can see it because it's the last thing
[164:21] I watched him in.
[164:21] >> We need to take him down a notch."
[164:23] >> Even Fox Mloud, you know.
[164:25] >> Yeah. Yeah.
[164:28] I have to go and watch. I heard that
[164:30] there because of the Super Mario Galaxy
[164:32] movie, I was alerted to the existence of
[164:34] like a half-hour long Star Fox anime
[164:36] that came out alongside Star Fox Zero or
[164:39] one of the games on like Wii or Wii U or
[164:41] something that I I'm not aware of. And
[164:42] the the stylized footage of like Fox's
[164:46] intro in Super Mario Galaxy, I was like,
[164:49] "This rules. I grew up on Star Fox. I
[164:51] want more of this. So, I got to go find
[164:53] this. I got to go track down this uh
[164:55] this anime." Now,
[164:56] >> where are we at as Glenn Powell as movie
[164:58] star? Where are we at on him?
[164:59] >> I think he's uh he seems like he's
[165:02] pulling a uh Sam Worthington where
[165:04] everyone's really pushing him but the
[165:06] crowds are not yet accepting him.
[165:08] >> I don't know. I think he he's kind of
[165:11] doing a Nicole Kidman but way too early.
[165:14] >> He's working so much. And I think like
[165:16] that might be my one criticism because
[165:18] here's the thing. I think he I would put
[165:19] him ahead of a Sam Warthingington who uh
[165:23] he's bringing a little bit more. He also
[165:25] writes films. He wrote Hitman and I
[165:28] think he's written another film that
[165:29] he's currently making or something like
[165:31] that. So, it's like he he's working a
[165:33] little bit more. Um, but I agree. It's
[165:35] >> Thank you, Rich for Girl. Welcome to
[165:37] Rewatch.
[165:38] >> Okay. Um, he's doing too much. Like he's
[165:40] got he's got like at all times he has a
[165:42] movie and a Hulu series and then like
[165:45] before you know it, he's got another
[165:47] movie. I I think he's doing something
[165:49] that I am very sympathetic to, which is
[165:51] like he's really trying to strike the
[165:53] anvil while it's hot and he's casting
[165:56] himself wide. You know, he's taking he's
[165:58] doing the Chad Powers thing like, you
[166:00] know, he's he's doing every project he
[166:03] can um while he can. And I I totally
[166:07] It's the most insane industry to try to
[166:10] build a life around. and and like you
[166:12] know as an actor you try to pick the
[166:13] best projects you can and the best
[166:15] collaborators but that doesn't mean you
[166:16] know that the movies are going to turn
[166:18] out good on paper I'm sure he's like
[166:20] Edgar right running man
[166:23] >> that awesome he didn't know it wasn't
[166:25] going to turn out great that movie he
[166:26] made uh Mark Gretquali was also in how
[166:29] to make a million kind of came and went
[166:30] and paid attention to it was on a hell
[166:32] of a run with twisters anyone but you
[166:34] hitman on Netflix had quite a run and
[166:37] then like he's had a couple misses
[166:39] lately and again has done some TV
[166:40] series.
[166:41] >> I like him. I'm optimistic for him. But
[166:43] yeah, it feels like he's just taking
[166:44] every job that comes his way rather than
[166:47] doing like a gzling of like, well, I'm
[166:49] not going to be in that much, but the
[166:50] stuff I'm in is going to be really fun
[166:51] >> or a shalam or a decapri or whatever.
[166:53] But now, not everybody can afford to do
[166:55] that because uh
[166:56] >> we're getting news that people dressed
[166:58] as Fman are in the aisles of the
[167:01] coliseum and Dune part 3 is closing out
[167:04] the WB presentation.
[167:06] >> Hell yes.
[167:09] And is Eric chanting?
[167:11] >> You know he is.
[167:13] >> That is awesome. Um, will there be a a
[167:16] sandworm?
[167:17] >> Uh, will the Shy elude make an
[167:19] appearance on stage?
[167:20] >> Yeah, let's
[167:21] >> I feel like this is when Zach's going to
[167:23] have the most FOMO.
[167:24] >> Oh god, so much FOMO.
[167:27] >> Okay, Zach will drink a beer out of this
[167:31] >> D filled. You know what I mean? I won't
[167:34] drink I won't drink 90 ounces of beer.
[167:37] do like a chart for like every like $50.
[167:39] >> Yes, we'll have this set up tomorrow
[167:41] like one of those uh like a thermometer
[167:44] fundraiser or whatever and like every
[167:46] time we get to a certain threshold I
[167:48] will mark it off. I will drink How about
[167:49] maybe for tomorrow
[167:51] >> every in addition to the names I'm
[167:54] already going to read off as I drink the
[167:56] beeros I I commit to that. Maybe we add
[167:58] on to that tomorrow every $100 in super
[168:00] chats I will drink another bureau.
[168:02] >> Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. If you can
[168:04] handle that many
[168:05] >> bureaus or every time we reach
[168:07] >> cumulatively we hit $100.
[168:09] >> I would be so I can't burp and so
[168:12] anything carbonated even drinking like
[168:14] one bureau I would be just bloated for
[168:16] the rest of the night.
[168:17] >> You can't burp.
[168:17] >> I can't burp. It's genetic. My dad can't
[168:20] burp either. I don't know why.
[168:22] >> Can you toot?
[168:23] >> Oh yes I can. So
[168:24] >> do you think you toot more because you
[168:25] can't burp?
[168:26] >> Yes I I make up for lost time. I make up
[168:28] for lost time burped. I mean, it happens
[168:31] to me like twice a year and I'm never
[168:33] ready for it and it always freaks me
[168:35] out. I
[168:35] >> I I just saw I just saw something in the
[168:37] chat I need to address. Okay. Lord Omni
[168:40] the First. Now, maybe you're trolling.
[168:42] >> They said, "What's so hype about Dune? I
[168:44] don't get it. Explain, someone." No,
[168:47] nobody explain. Okay, here's the thing.
[168:50] Both those movies, Dune 1, Dune 2 are
[168:52] available to stream on HBO. You can go
[168:56] treat yourself. Go treat yourself. ceue
[168:58] up Dune 1 and then you won't need to
[169:00] have it explained to you. Okay, that's I
[169:03] and leave it at that. Go watch the
[169:05] movie. You'll get why you type. Okay,
[169:07] you'll get why it's hype. Okay, so uh
[169:10] we're now getting updates on the first
[169:12] trailer for J.J. Abrams the Great
[169:13] Beyond. Eric is saying it's a classic JJ
[169:16] mystery box trailer that doesn't reveal
[169:17] much, but we see a computer screen read
[169:20] off the HG Wells quote about the
[169:22] existence of another world of sight and
[169:24] sound. If I had to compare it to any
[169:26] other film, I would say Close Encounters
[169:28] of the Third Kind. Midnight Special.
[169:30] God, that's a great movie. Good point.
[169:32] >> I honestly don't know what to make of
[169:33] it, but I'll be Is that the one Michael
[169:35] Shannon and Joelton? That's a great
[169:37] movie,
[169:38] >> man. That movie is so good.
[169:41] >> Yeah, that movie uh is 10 years old this
[169:43] year. That's uh from Jeff Nichols uh the
[169:46] director of Mud and a bunch of other
[169:48] things. But um yeah, interesting. So
[169:51] that that movie and and that was a
[169:52] little scene movie. So, like if if if
[169:54] you don't quite remember, like um
[169:56] >> that's about like a a father and an
[169:59] uncle trying to get this young boy that
[170:00] is exhibiting these like special powers
[170:03] and they maybe came from like a kind of
[170:05] like religious cult or something like
[170:06] that trying to get him across the
[170:08] country as these like kind of powers are
[170:10] manifesting. It's a beautiful movie but
[170:12] it's it's mostly very grounded and small
[170:14] even though there are these big things
[170:15] kind of happening.
[170:16] >> Dune part 3 takes over the stage at
[170:17] Cineacon. We hear Paul's chanting from
[170:19] the recent trailer and footage on
[170:21] screen. As Fman soldiers march down the
[170:23] aisles, two fly up on wires. Denu of
[170:27] Timothy Shia Zena and Jason Mimoa are on
[170:30] stage.
[170:31] >> Fly up on stage like the um like in the
[170:35] uh uh the hearkinins at the beginning of
[170:38] Dune 2.
[170:39] >> Such a creepy.
[170:42] >> So great.
[170:43] >> So now that we know people can fly in on
[170:45] wires.
[170:46] >> Yeah. How come they haven't been doing
[170:48] it more?
[170:48] >> Well, what does this mean for Disney?
[170:51] >> Oh, yeah.
[170:53] >> I mean, also, yeah, why wasn't Sandra
[170:54] Bullet flying in on the wire?
[170:56] >> Why didn't uh
[170:57] >> why didn't Spider-Man come in on a wire?
[170:59] One of the many.
[171:01] >> Also, like I love the idea that like
[171:02] there was like a stunt person in a Fman
[171:06] outfit that just had to be sitting up in
[171:07] the rafters of this building for the
[171:09] entire panel.
[171:10] >> They got to still suit on. If they need
[171:11] to pee or something, they're fine. Well,
[171:13] gets recycled. They can drink it, so
[171:15] it's fine. Um,
[171:17] yes. Okay.
[171:19] Uh, okay. We got a super chat coming in
[171:22] from Eric Hendershot.
[171:24] Over under 20%. I like we've even gotten
[171:26] to
[171:27] >> We've shortened it.
[171:27] >> Shortening it. I appreciate your
[171:29] innovation there, Eric Hendershot.
[171:30] >> Oh, you too.
[171:31] >> Uh, Doomsday happens or does Doomsday
[171:34] move up to the date vacated by Junanji
[171:37] to get a week head start and get uh some
[171:40] IMAX before Dune takes over?
[171:41] >> I think they still won't be able to get
[171:43] IMAX. Well, they might be able to get
[171:45] one week of IMAX. I'm not sure.
[171:47] >> But, you know, people have pointed out
[171:49] they already got a clock.
[171:51] >> Yeah.
[171:51] >> Ticking away until that release date.
[171:54] >> I I think Marvel wants to have the week
[171:57] of being the center of the conversation
[172:00] more so than they want IMAX. And I think
[172:02] there's a good chance they'll move up.
[172:04] Um, especially if they're as bullish as
[172:07] we've heard from the recent screenings,
[172:09] I think they'll move up and hope that
[172:11] they steal a little bit of Dunes
[172:13] Thunder.
[172:13] >> So, so we're saying over? I'd say over,
[172:15] not way over.
[172:16] >> Not way over. I don't not a guarantee.
[172:18] >> It's by no means. I'd say 30%.
[172:21] >> And then I see uh another super chat
[172:23] here coming in from Edward T. Uh, inside
[172:26] outside 40%. We're just we're playing
[172:30] with the metrics here.
[172:31] >> That's right. Young Avengers before
[172:34] Mutant Saga. Uh, under we're getting
[172:37] Mutant Saga 2028. We're getting X-Men.
[172:39] >> The Young Avengers are old now.
[172:41] >> New tweet. Uh, Timothy Shia says that in
[172:44] Doom part 3, Paul at Trades has become
[172:46] his own worst vision. His character has
[172:49] become the all powerful dark emperor of
[172:51] the universe. His focus now is only to
[172:53] protect the people he loves. Give me
[172:55] that dark messiah storyline.
[172:57] I want a $200 million uh gorgeous space
[173:01] opera epic that is nasty and has a dark
[173:05] anti-chosen one message.
[173:07] >> Yes.
[173:08] >> Yes, sir. And I know that will not be a
[173:10] popular opinion and I don't care. This
[173:11] movie is for me and only me.
[173:13] >> I'm I'm so excited for it.
[173:15] >> Uh oh, hell yeah. But yeah, go back to
[173:17] Edward T. I don't think, you know, I
[173:19] mean, technically, I guess you can make
[173:20] an argument if if Are you just saying
[173:24] like, will we see some kind of a Young
[173:25] Avengers moment in either Doomsday or
[173:28] Secret Wars? Yeah, probably. But we're
[173:31] not going to see a young Avengers
[173:32] property.
[173:33] >> We'll get them teaming up like we got
[173:35] Pepper and everyone else in, you know,
[173:37] the the lady heroes teamed up at the end
[173:39] of
[173:40] >> maybe even more than just like that kind
[173:41] of short sequence. I don't know, half of
[173:43] Secret Wars could be devoted to like
[173:45] these young heroes are the only ones
[173:47] left and they've got to fight to free
[173:49] the the veterans or something like that.
[173:51] Maybe maybe something like that could
[173:52] happen. I could see that. Yeah. Um,
[173:56] wow. Uh, yeah. What a what a year. We
[174:00] were talking about this yesterday. What
[174:01] a year for Zenaia. Uh, she's already in
[174:03] the drama out in theaters right now.
[174:05] It's been kind of a a success as a
[174:07] smaller film. Uh, she's in Spider-Man
[174:10] Brand New Day. She's in The Odyssey and
[174:13] she's in Dune 3. She could
[174:14] >> Euphoria.
[174:16] >> And Euphoria. She could potentially be
[174:18] in three of the top 10 movies of this
[174:20] year. She could, I don't know, win an
[174:22] Emmy for uh her television work, right?
[174:25] Maybe she gets Oscar nominated for the
[174:26] drama. I don't know. I mean, crazy run.
[174:29] Crazy run for her. And then next year,
[174:31] biggest of all,
[174:32] >> Shrek 5.
[174:34] >> Shrek 5.
[174:35] >> We have spoilers for Dune part three. Do
[174:38] we read these out on air? What is our
[174:39] policy for doing part three?
[174:41] >> If he's tweeting it out, uh
[174:44] >> it's something Mimoa said at the which
[174:46] if you've read the books is not a
[174:47] surprise, but um it is something Mimoa
[174:51] said there.
[174:52] >> Um
[174:54] you know uh
[174:56] >> yeah, and actually I accidentally said
[174:57] it uh 10 minutes ago too on this stream,
[175:00] so it's not really a uh spoilers for
[175:02] Doom part 3. Feel free to mute for a
[175:04] minute if if you're that concerned.
[175:06] Jason Mamoa confirms that his character
[175:07] in the third Dune film is a body
[175:09] regenerated from the cells of Duncan
[175:11] Idaho and now his character is focused
[175:13] on hate. Um yeah, I mean that's that's
[175:16] also from the books.
[175:17] >> Duncan Idaho I believe gets regenerated
[175:19] 10 bazillion for like thousands of years
[175:21] in the books.
[175:22] >> Yeah, there's like hundth generation
[175:23] Duncan at the books.
[175:25] >> Isn't his name hate or something?
[175:27] >> Yes, but like with weird spelling, I
[175:30] believe. Yeah.
[175:31] >> Um yeah, that's great. We got a super
[175:34] chat coming in.
[175:36] Uh, okay. Omalor
[175:38] Zenaia as Zelda. Similar names.
[175:41] >> It would have been great casting.
[175:42] >> They've already shot Zelda,
[175:43] unfortunately. So, she couldn't get in
[175:44] there.
[175:45] >> Filming is wrapped, but maybe in a
[175:46] sequel.
[175:46] >> She's definitely Elfin.
[175:48] >> Yeah, I'd say so.
[175:49] >> You know, the slender tall uh whatever.
[175:52] You got normal ears as far as we know.
[175:54] >> Yep.
[175:54] >> Not pointy ears, but you know, that can
[175:56] be fixed. I
[175:57] >> I don't quite have elf ears, but I don't
[175:58] know, Abby. Maybe you can see that my
[176:00] ears have these weird like rat bites
[176:02] taken out of them at the top.
[176:03] >> What happened there? I don't know.
[176:05] Again, genetic. My dad has it. But that
[176:07] makes it easy to fold up into elf ears.
[176:09] >> Oh, nice.
[176:10] >> They just fold. They just fold straight
[176:11] up. So, put me in the Zelda movie.
[176:13] >> I could play uh like one of those
[176:15] annoying like, you know, like Hyruleian
[176:18] guys who's like a shopkeep who has like
[176:21] the arrows you need, but I need rupes or
[176:23] something. Or you got to go fetch 12
[176:26] wellcharred steaks for me or something.
[176:29] Um, I could do it. I I'm available. I'm
[176:31] ready.
[176:32] >> Put them in. Put Put me in, coach.
[176:34] >> We got another We got an addition to
[176:35] that previous Jason Mamoa tweet. Uh, the
[176:38] cast and crew of this film is clearly
[176:40] treating certain character details from
[176:42] Doom Messiah as part of the marketing of
[176:44] the film rather than big plot twists
[176:47] they want to keep a secret. This often
[176:49] happens with book adaptations. Movie
[176:51] audiences expect to go into their
[176:53] stories with more expectations than book
[176:55] readers want before they open a book. It
[176:58] is what it is. It is what it is.
[177:02] >> I guess what Eric's trying to say there
[177:03] is like spoilers are less of a big deal
[177:06] when it is a book adaptation and all the
[177:09] information is out there readily
[177:10] available.
[177:10] >> The book came out 50 years ago.
[177:12] >> Yes.
[177:12] >> Yeah. You can't spoil Moby Dick. Can't
[177:14] spoil Dracula.
[177:17] >> Yeah. Oh, we got another tweet here,
[177:18] too. Uh Timothy Shameé likens the Dune
[177:21] trilogy with the Lord of the Rings
[177:23] trilogy for this generation when movie
[177:26] theaters need an experience. I think
[177:28] they're very different trilogies, but I
[177:29] think in terms of epic scale and
[177:31] quality absolutely.
[177:33] >> Yeah. And and there's I have nine
[177:35] thoughts on that on that short tweet.
[177:37] First off,
[177:38] >> that's him being like and remember what
[177:41] uh Return of the King got? Oscars. Let's
[177:44] go. I would say the Dune franchise has
[177:47] been kind of under rewarded
[177:49] >> in general agree
[177:50] >> uh for the great work at the big scale
[177:52] that it's been doing. Denville New in
[177:54] general has been kind of an unheralded
[177:57] watching the first seven minutes of Dune
[177:59] right now.
[178:00] >> Jealousy,
[178:02] >> we we are we are going to be getting a
[178:04] 300page tweet from Eric in 10 minutes.
[178:08] >> Yes, he is furiously and he's typing out
[178:10] [ __ ] like a trades and Arachus and Gaty
[178:13] Prime uh as fast as he can. Um uh but
[178:17] he's both saying like, "Hey, this is our
[178:19] return of the king. This is like we get
[178:21] it. You didn't want to reward the first
[178:22] one. Sequels don't often get nominated
[178:24] for stuff, but this is the big thing."
[178:26] And like, you know, Timmy got a lot of
[178:29] uh guff for his comments about opera and
[178:32] ballet and and whatever. That's fine.
[178:35] I'm sure everybody watching this has
[178:37] been to five operas and six ballets in
[178:39] the last 12 months and you guys are all
[178:40] supporting uh the arts in that way. But
[178:43] what was missed in a lot of that
[178:44] discourse is he was saying so that's why
[178:47] we have to make sure the theatrical
[178:49] experience and the film industry
[178:51] survives and is for everybody. It was
[178:53] really a populist message. who's saying
[178:55] like it's a shame that these other art
[178:57] forms are like small shrinking elitist.
[179:01] We don't get to experience ballet and
[179:03] opera on a regular basis. They're not
[179:04] for the masses, right? And that's why he
[179:06] called them dying art forms. Whereas
[179:07] like he was kind of saying like, hey, I
[179:09] want to be a big movie star for
[179:11] everybody and not just make tiny movies
[179:12] that nobody sees because I want to keep
[179:14] this art form alive. And to him, I say
[179:17] righteous. Okay, that's what I want in
[179:19] my movie star. Timmy Shalamé.
[179:21] >> Do Wonka too. Also, the the the fa the
[179:25] amount of people who are outraged over
[179:26] the opera comment that I wanted to be
[179:28] like, "When was the last time before
[179:30] this morning you thought about opera?"
[179:33] >> Yes.
[179:33] >> You know,
[179:34] >> and and like I also don't mind a lot of
[179:35] people are like, "Oh, he goes up and
[179:37] says he wants to be the biggest movie
[179:38] star in the world and goes up and says
[179:40] that he wants Oscars and that's Gaus and
[179:42] like you're not supposed to do that as
[179:43] an actor." I'm like, "I don't care. I
[179:45] want him to be a big movie star, too."
[179:47] And I'm fine with him declaring that,
[179:49] you know? Uh it's cool to want stuff.
[179:51] Uh, it's not cool to be too It's It's
[179:55] never cool to not care is what I would
[179:57] say. Anyways,
[179:58] >> yeah. Don't be too cool for
[179:59] >> Don't be a hipster.
[180:00] >> Yes. Uh, just incredible that I got to
[180:03] watch the first seven minutes. You know,
[180:05] that is a cooker of a first seven
[180:06] minutes. I mean, the first seven minutes
[180:08] of Dune 2 started with that that
[180:10] sequence with the um Hearkinins floating
[180:13] up to the top of that plateau.
[180:14] >> Yes. Do you think it's like What do you
[180:16] think's happening?
[180:18] >> I mean, probably a battle sequence
[180:20] maybe. I I think I think that Chie is in
[180:23] line at a drive-thru at an Arby's and
[180:26] she and she's just going like, "My god,
[180:28] why is it so slow?" And there's a car in
[180:30] front of her and she's like, "What could
[180:32] they possibly be ordering?" And we don't
[180:34] see what's going on in the car, but it's
[180:36] tense, right? Like it's tense. And then
[180:39] it turns out someone in the car looks
[180:41] back, pale skin. It's a Hearkinin. And
[180:43] then Chie goes, "Oh [ __ ] it's on." And
[180:46] she gets out of her car to go start some
[180:48] [ __ ] with the Hearkin at Arby's. But
[180:50] then they drive off and she's like,
[180:51] "Good, motherfucker." You know, I bet.
[180:52] And it's seven minutes of just the
[180:55] tensest Arby's drive-thru you've ever
[180:57] seen.
[180:58] >> So Chaie's in a Tim Robinson sketch.
[181:00] >> Yeah.
[181:01] >> Yeah. It's But she's not getting 55
[181:02] burgers, 55 fries,
[181:04] >> 55 shakes,
[181:05] >> 55 pies. Yeah.
[181:07] >> Uh
[181:08] >> yeah. I I'd be interested. I mean, I bet
[181:10] it's a gorgeous set piece. You know,
[181:11] they could show any scene from the
[181:13] movie. They're choosing to show this for
[181:14] seven minutes, so it must be like an
[181:16] impressive seven. And they're cutting it
[181:17] off at seven, right? So, I'm assuming
[181:19] that's one scene, one sequence. Maybe
[181:21] it's impressive.
[181:22] >> I I would bet more sincerely, I I would
[181:25] bet it starts with some kind of like,
[181:27] you know, either slow shot, if not of a
[181:31] space fairing vessel than of the
[181:33] landscape of Iraq as something to
[181:35] establish scale
[181:36] >> or or maybe a new planet.
[181:38] >> Or maybe a new planet. Yeah. But yeah,
[181:39] either way, something that establishes
[181:41] the impossible smallalness of the
[181:44] characters in this area
[181:46] >> and and like
[181:46] >> and then zooms in. He he's now right
[181:48] like the emperor of of the universe or
[181:51] whatever, right? And like they're he's
[181:53] he and his and his followers are are
[181:55] fighting epic battles which like you
[181:58] know for the the epic scope of the first
[182:00] two films, we actually did not see uh
[182:02] that was a
[182:03] >> I dropped the dune bucket.
[182:05] >> That was a Jessie uh hitting the ground
[182:07] there. But um uh we did not see a lot of
[182:10] like big group battles in those films,
[182:13] right? We saw kind of uh some visions of
[182:15] them and like obviously the big
[182:17] confrontation in the final storm the
[182:19] thing at the end but like we're kind of
[182:21] seeing that even from a little bit of a
[182:22] remove a little bit of a distance.
[182:24] >> So that that's still like up for grabs
[182:26] as far as like first time they could do
[182:28] a really cool job of that. Um love it. I
[182:31] wonder if this opening scene includes
[182:34] Robert Patson
[182:36] >> as a Saitale or Satali
[182:38] >> Satali.
[182:40] um who is the the new uh one of the new
[182:44] characters added to this film kind of in
[182:46] that Austin Butler bring in a well-known
[182:49] gorgeous actor to play a freaky villain
[182:52] uh type figure. Um that's fun. Uh maybe
[182:56] we get a little we're almost certainly
[182:57] going to get a lot more Florence Pew in
[183:00] this third movie and we're definitely
[183:01] going to get a lot more Anna Taylor Joy
[183:04] who appeared in for like 10 seconds in
[183:05] the second
[183:06] >> as like a vision, right? Like Yeah.
[183:08] >> Yeah. because she had just been born in
[183:10] the second film and he's kind of
[183:11] projecting forward to what she was going
[183:13] to look like. But she's gonna play an
[183:15] active role in this movie.
[183:17] >> Uh yeah, apparently it's like a 17-year
[183:18] time jump from Dune 2 to Dune 3. Um
[183:24] >> which is roughly the same time jump from
[183:25] Euphoria season 2 to Euphoria
[183:27] >> in in real life, right? Yeah. Yeah.
[183:29] Yeah. IRL. Uh Abby, should the folks be
[183:33] keeping an eye out for anything Euphoria
[183:35] related?
[183:35] >> They should on Saturday.
[183:39] Just saying.
[183:39] >> Just keep an eye out.
[183:40] >> Just keep an eye out.
[183:42] >> If you haven't already seen the first
[183:43] episode of
[183:44] >> Watch that,
[183:44] >> the new season of Euphoria, maybe watch
[183:46] it before Saturday
[183:47] >> and then get hype and check out New
[183:50] Rockstars.
[183:53] >> Uh, get hype and check new rock stars.
[183:55] Okay. Um,
[183:57] >> now you all know that I'm a deeply
[184:00] serious person and I comport myself in
[184:02] the most serious ways possible. I want
[184:05] to say something important to you about
[184:07] the Dune franchise of movies while we
[184:09] are waiting with baited breath.
[184:12] They are modern epics. They owe a great
[184:16] debt of gratitude to Lawrence of Arabia
[184:20] and the kind of old school transportive
[184:23] power of the silver screen. Mhm.
[184:26] >> Whether or not you're a fan of science
[184:28] fiction, if you're a fan of serious
[184:32] cinema and being transported away with a
[184:36] story that doesn't feel like it has to
[184:37] razledazzle you every second, it's
[184:39] willing to sit in slow moments. It's
[184:41] willing to let you sit and feel small,
[184:43] the Dune movies are for you.
[184:45] >> Yes.
[184:45] >> If you want a popcorn bucket that
[184:48] perverts want to [ __ ]
[184:50] >> the Dune movies are also for you.
[184:52] >> No kink shaming here, B.
[184:53] >> No, I'm not shaming. Normal people want
[184:56] to [ __ ] it, too.
[184:57] >> Not just perverts.
[184:58] >> I'm just shaving.
[184:59] >> Um, we discussing film had a couple
[185:01] quotes that we were unable to transcribe
[185:03] fast enough on the New York Rockstars
[185:04] account. So, I want to read those out.
[185:06] Uh, Denville Noob describes Dune Part 3
[185:09] as a thriller that is more fast-paced,
[185:12] action-packed, and emotional than the
[185:14] previous two films.
[185:15] >> The most emotional Spider-Man movie yet.
[185:17] Dune Part 3.
[185:19] >> Um, interesting. Fast-paced and
[185:20] action-packed. Again, I think we're
[185:22] going to see more battle sequences. Um,
[185:24] there's thrilling set pieces like them
[185:26] attacking the spice harvester, you know.
[185:29] I mean, there's lots of action sequences
[185:30] in those first two movies, but I do
[185:32] think we could see a lot more like
[185:33] battle, handtohand combat in this movie.
[185:36] Interesting. They said fast-paced. I
[185:38] wonder, do you think we see a shorter
[185:40] run time on this? Both the first two
[185:42] movies are like two and a half, 245.
[185:45] >> You know, I I am normally a guy who
[185:47] really if I see a movie that's under two
[185:49] hours, I'm impressed, especially when it
[185:51] runs by the clip. The Dune movies, I I
[185:54] kind of want them to be like three hours
[185:56] long.
[185:56] >> I see them like Lord of the Rings.
[185:58] >> Yeah, I really do.
[185:59] >> Give me more. And And once this movie is
[186:01] out, give me director's cuts of all
[186:03] three. I I don't care. More better. Uh,
[186:06] as far as I'm concerned,
[186:06] >> I think something that makes uh a movie
[186:09] really drag is when it's long because
[186:13] there's too many side plots and they
[186:15] overly complicate what the focus of the
[186:17] movie needs to be. The Dune movies, for
[186:19] all their length, are like pretty trim
[186:22] plot-wise. It's just there's a lot of
[186:24] like really sitting in a moment. And if
[186:26] that's what elongates a movie, I'm I'm
[186:28] all there for it.
[186:28] >> And that's a classic thing like Lawrence
[186:30] of Arabia, Titanic, whatever. When you
[186:32] want something to feel like a saga.
[186:33] >> Yes.
[186:34] >> Especially a movie like this that's
[186:35] probably going to take place over years
[186:36] or maybe even generations, right? Like
[186:38] you need to spend some time with these
[186:39] characters. And then another quote from
[186:41] uh Timmy Shalamé says, "Paul is becoming
[186:44] his worst nightmare in Dune Part 3." You
[186:46] heard that? He's struggling to retain
[186:47] the parts of himself he sees the most,
[186:50] still trying to protect his family while
[186:52] becoming the Dark Emperor.
[186:55] >> I love that.
[186:57] >> He calls himself the Dark Emperor. Um,
[187:01] >> I dig it.
[187:01] >> We think he's going to become Darth
[187:03] Vader at the very end of the movie.
[187:04] That's right.
[187:05] >> The sand, it gets everywhere and then
[187:06] that's what turns him. If you're on a
[187:08] sandy planet and you're a little evil,
[187:09] you become Darth Vader. Um, we're we're
[187:12] not getting any updates on the New
[187:13] Rockstars account. Uh, because they're
[187:14] watching the seven minutes.
[187:15] >> What if they lied to them and said it's
[187:18] the first seven minutes, but it's really
[187:20] the whole movie.
[187:20] >> The whole movie.
[187:23] >> I God, I would die. You're so jealous.
[187:26] But also, you know, this movie doesn't
[187:28] come out for another eight months. Um,
[187:31] it was interesting. Like, I would say it
[187:32] was a pretty quiet production
[187:34] considering this big franchise with
[187:36] these huge movie stars. Like, we did not
[187:38] get a lot of set photos on Doom 3. they
[187:40] did not do a lot of press around like
[187:43] castings and like release dates and
[187:44] stuff like that. It's nothing compared
[187:46] to Marvel movies or even like Lord of
[187:48] the Rings stuff or whatever. Um, and
[187:50] maybe that's just it's a different type
[187:51] of fandom that maybe is is not as into
[187:53] that kind of stuff or or it's just an
[187:55] evil new style. So, it's like it's it's
[187:57] almost like still a surprise to me that
[187:59] I'm getting this movie. Yeah, Brian, do
[188:00] we got a super chat coming in? Okay.
[188:02] From Canada, Monarch's Dead. I hope I'm
[188:05] pronouncing that right. Love you guys.
[188:07] >> Hey, love you. What an appropriately
[188:10] Canadian thing for you to say in
[188:11] Arsstead, you know. Uh you guys are so
[188:14] nice up north.
[188:16] >> Um
[188:17] >> like Anton,
[188:18] >> like our our buddy and coworker Anton is
[188:21] a a Canadian. Uh I've been to Vancouver
[188:24] and Toronto. Had lovely experiences in
[188:26] both those cities.
[188:27] >> Uh I spent a week at a comedy festival
[188:30] in Edmonton.
[188:31] >> Okay.
[188:31] >> Had a good time. Surprisingly good
[188:33] indoor uh water slide park. I bet. I bet
[188:36] in Edmonton. You need that [ __ ] most
[188:39] months of the year, huh?
[188:40] >> Yeah.
[188:40] >> I recently went to Niagara Falls,
[188:42] Canada. Stayed on the Canadian side to
[188:44] take a look at the falls. It was lovely.
[188:45] >> I really want to get up to like the Nova
[188:47] Scotia, like the East Coast. I've never
[188:49] been to any there. And I really want to
[188:51] go to Quick Quebec at some point.
[188:53] >> I can't speak a lake of French, but uh
[188:55] I'll learn for the Quebec.
[188:57] >> Um so, shout out to our Canadian
[188:59] friends. Um and any country. So,
[189:02] somebody shout said that they were
[189:04] watching from South Africa. Obviously,
[189:05] we've had some folks from Brazil.
[189:06] >> Someone watching from Nepal over here.
[189:09] >> Nepal. Holy [ __ ] What are you at?
[189:12] 30,000 ft.
[189:13] >> Yeah, my guy.
[189:14] >> Um, bless you. Uh, anybody from or any
[189:18] place here in the US too? Uh, shout out.
[189:21] It's so cool that we get to connect with
[189:22] so many people in so many different
[189:23] places.
[189:24] >> Ireland nostalgic account 3836 watching
[189:27] from Ireland.
[189:28] >> Go Canadian flags. Yeah, excited for
[189:31] that new kneecap album coming out May
[189:33] 1st. Oh, baby. Been listening to the
[189:36] singles. Pennian all the way. Um,
[189:40] okay. Let's see. We got people from
[189:41] Omaha, Nebraska, India, Australia. I
[189:45] mean, you folks that are in a
[189:46] drastically different uh time zones. Are
[189:49] you do you just have a a strange
[189:51] schedule? Why are you up at this hour?
[189:53] >> Australia, that's like 16 hours ahead.
[189:56] >> Maybe it's actually a normal hour for
[189:57] them.
[189:57] >> Yeah. So then you know they're like now
[189:59] all of a sudden Australia it's like 2 or
[190:00] 3 in the afternoon I bet you know.
[190:02] >> Yeah.
[190:03] >> Philippines, Illinois. Hey somebody
[190:06] coming in from Quebec. Great. Wakanda.
[190:09] Oh interesting. What time zone is it
[190:10] there?
[190:12] >> U also man you know the freaking TV or
[190:15] computer or phone they're watching that
[190:17] [ __ ] on in Wakanda.
[190:18] >> High-tech.
[190:19] >> Wild as we're like being projected 3D
[190:23] into the room.
[190:23] >> I'm just a bunch of beads
[190:25] >> right now. Ah, hell yeah. Uh, great.
[190:29] Buffalo, New York. Hell yeah. Say hey to
[190:31] our uh buddy Tommy up there if you get
[190:33] near Rochester. Um, midday in Australia.
[190:37] Okay, that makes sense. It's so far
[190:38] away. That's actually a reasonable hour.
[190:40] Okay. Um, Gotham City, somebody said,
[190:42] "Okay, we got multiple people coming in
[190:44] from Brazil."
[190:45] >> The bottom of boot in Louisiana. Hell
[190:47] yeah.
[190:49] >> Fle bon rule. You know what I mean?
[190:52] Yeah. I I I spent a month in New Orleans
[190:54] once. It was lovely. New Orleans is
[190:56] great. One of my favorite corners of the
[190:58] world.
[190:58] >> Truly so good. Yeah.
[191:00] >> Your food.
[191:02] >> Untouched. Untouched food. Your drinking
[191:05] culture. Not healthy, but it's fun.
[191:07] >> Untouched. Amazing.
[191:08] >> I would every night I would go to is it
[191:10] Jackson Square in the middle of New
[191:12] Orleans? There was a New Orleans cigar
[191:14] shop where I would watch someone
[191:15] handroll a cigar, buy that cigar, go to
[191:18] a place across the street from uh uh the
[191:22] Beignet place. Deand
[191:24] >> Kevin de I would get a glass of
[191:26] Bllandons for like three bucks in a
[191:28] to-go cup or a go cup and then just walk
[191:31] out and smoke a cigar and people watch
[191:33] all night long. It was fantastic
[191:35] >> there. It It's like I have no desire to
[191:37] like go like Jimmy Buffett style like
[191:39] waste my life away and drink myself to
[191:41] death or whatever, but if I had to.
[191:43] >> Yeah, man.
[191:44] >> It would be in New Orleans. That would
[191:46] be my number one choice. Uh shout out
[191:48] Monarch's Dead for becoming a rockstar
[191:50] uh becoming a YouTube member. We
[191:52] appreciate you. Uh Jess Khesi is also in
[191:55] the chat. Uh welcoming Monarchs Dead and
[191:58] Jess Kesi is also a YouTube member.
[192:00] Thank you.
[192:00] >> Uh got a uh super chat here from Sarah
[192:03] Hatchadorian. Aegon's Conquest confirmed
[192:06] to be a 2027 movie.
[192:08] >> Oo, I'm excited.
[192:10] >> Interesting.
[192:10] >> Holy [ __ ] that's fast.
[192:12] >> Sarah, where you getting that from?
[192:13] >> I didn't have that on my bingo card.
[192:15] >> No shade to Sarah, but is this also with
[192:17] the
[192:18] >> Is this like the Constantine rumor? Uh
[192:20] >> yeah. Sarah, where are you hearing this
[192:21] from?
[192:22] >> Well, I Nope. Discussing film is
[192:24] reporting it. Okay.
[192:25] >> Way to go, Sarah. You're breaking news.
[192:27] Okay. Um, in 2027, that's soon.
[192:31] >> That's even if it's in the late 2027,
[192:35] that's still really
[192:36] >> also um apparently this also coming out
[192:38] of the WB panel. Zack Kger is directing
[192:40] a new sci-fi film, The Flood, for Warner
[192:43] Brothers in theaters in August of 28.
[192:46] So, I think this has been He's a very
[192:49] busy guy. He's pumping it out. I think
[192:50] this this had been reported or or
[192:52] mentioned in some trades before. Still
[192:54] big news. So, he's doing Resident Evil
[192:56] later this year. That Glattis prequel,
[192:59] maybe that's next year, and this would
[193:00] be the movie after that. We got a super
[193:02] chat coming in, Brian.
[193:03] >> No, we have the uh description for
[193:06] >> Okay. Okay. Let me read this. Let me
[193:07] read this.
[193:08] >> Take a deep breath. Drink a water.
[193:10] >> Let me get my happy place.
[193:11] >> Are you gonna be okay?
[193:12] >> No. Uh, okay. Eric reporting in from the
[193:15] room in uh Vegas. The opening scene of
[193:18] Dune Part 3 is epic. The Fman soldiers
[193:20] led by Stillgar invade a rainy world.
[193:23] They're off Arachus. Uh, water will fall
[193:26] from the sky. One of the Fman reads from
[193:28] their prayer book, referring to the
[193:30] prophecy foretold for Rakus. Oh, no,
[193:32] never mind. They're on Arachus. It's
[193:34] just raining now. Uh, there's some
[193:35] saving Private Ryanesque tension as the
[193:38] Fman boxed landing craft descend. Oh,
[193:41] kind of like the storming of Normandy
[193:42] Beach there. Uh, there's a notable focus
[193:45] on a crate carried by four soldiers. At
[193:48] first, there's no resistance, but then a
[193:50] gun turret pops out of the mud and
[193:52] blasts several of the landing craft and
[193:54] soldiers. Then, a giant seed-shaped
[193:57] structure rises out of the mud and uses
[193:59] four to five of these turrets to blast
[194:01] the crap out of the Fman invasion force.
[194:03] Stillgar comes in the structures, calls
[194:06] in the structures location for an aerial
[194:08] bombing, but the structure is shielded.
[194:11] Uh, Stillgar tries to use a shield
[194:13] piercer device, but the piercers bounce
[194:15] off and hit their own forces. One of the
[194:18] crate carriers freaks out and bolts. The
[194:22] sound design, editing, visual effects,
[194:24] and production design are top-notch.
[194:26] Seriously, this is our generations Lord
[194:28] of the Rings trilogy. Hook Dune 3 into
[194:30] my veins. That's Eric saying that.
[194:32] >> Yes.
[194:32] >> But I agree.
[194:33] >> Yes.
[194:34] >> I mean, sci-fi Saving Private Ryan.
[194:38] >> Abso fuckingutely.
[194:40] >> Seated.
[194:40] >> Seated.
[194:41] >> Seated.
[194:42] >> The theater's not even open. And I'm
[194:43] seated.
[194:44] >> And she's seated. She she'll be she'll
[194:46] be kicked out for trespassing, but she's
[194:47] still seated.
[194:48] >> Seated.
[194:49] >> Plus, also is the delight of um
[194:55] Javier Bard's performance is still
[194:56] great.
[194:57] >> He's incredible.
[194:58] >> Again, we we were talking earlier about
[195:00] a depth of a cast when you have a deep
[195:02] bench of like great actors in your
[195:03] movie.
[195:05] >> You know, Christopher Nolan's doing his
[195:06] best. Wes Anderson's out there
[195:07] accumulating movie stars, but man, this
[195:10] Dune franchise.
[195:11] >> Yeah.
[195:11] >> When it's go, you go Timmy Zena. Uh,
[195:14] >> Rebecca Ferguson,
[195:15] >> Brolan Ferguson, uh, I mean,
[195:19] >> Patson now, right? I mean,
[195:21] >> Oscar Isacson,
[195:22] >> Christopher Walkin, Florence Pea
[195:26] Taylor Joy, like the bench is deep.
[195:29] Okay.
[195:29] >> Yeah.
[195:30] >> Uh, and just like I mean,
[195:31] >> and Scarsgard. Stone Scarsgard.
[195:34] >> Oh, well, unfortunately, he's not he's
[195:36] not going to be in this movie, but a
[195:38] real delight in the last two. Yeah. Um,
[195:41] yeah. Oh, that sounds like a killer
[195:43] sequence. Yes, Brian, we got a super
[195:46] chat coming in.
[195:46] >> Zack, this one's for you.
[195:48] >> Uh, Captain Cannabis, my man. Zack, if
[195:51] you come to Nova Scotia, we going to the
[195:53] local Cinniplex and watching dude part
[195:55] three and smoking a big old blunt. Deal.
[195:58] I might I might have to just do a little
[195:59] edible. And honestly, Captain Cannabis,
[196:02] where I really appreciate how on brand
[196:03] you are with your name and you're
[196:05] smoking big blunts, here's my thing. I
[196:07] need to be stone cold sober watching
[196:09] doing part three. Okay. Because yeah,
[196:11] the first time I watch it, cuz like I'm
[196:14] going to be high on life during that
[196:16] movie. And if I were to add outside
[196:18] substances, it could kind of corrupt the
[196:20] experience a little bit. Like I don't
[196:22] even sometimes for a movie I'm really
[196:23] into, I can't even be drinking soda or
[196:25] eating popcorn because I just I can't
[196:27] need to go to the bathroom halfway or
[196:29] get a cotton mouth or something like
[196:31] that. Like I've just got to be locked
[196:32] in. And there's no movie that I need to
[196:35] be locked in more for than this. But
[196:37] then the second time I see it, hell
[196:38] yeah. I'll be high as hell.
[196:39] >> Yeah.
[196:40] Yeah, I I I might go with a little help
[196:42] from my fungus friends for this one,
[196:44] >> you know, just like just an eighth.
[196:46] Nothing crazy, you know, but we'll we'll
[196:49] see.
[196:49] >> Oh, man.
[196:51] >> Um, okay. Well, that was there was a
[196:54] lot. This was a much longer um uh panel
[196:57] than we were ready for. We got some
[196:59] great Dune footage. Uh
[197:02] uh we've gotten a ton of news about J.J.
[197:05] Abrams new project. Um a bunch of DC
[197:08] news. Clayface uh sounds very exciting
[197:11] to us. Um and
[197:14] >> our first kind of uh information about
[197:16] the great beyond JJ Abrams movie. Uh
[197:19] some digger uh added information. I
[197:22] we're discussing film also reporting the
[197:24] uh Minecraft 2 a Minecraft sequel is the
[197:27] title of it and it's slated uh July
[197:29] 2027. So maybe they're just kind of
[197:31] mentioning that. Uh we got another super
[197:33] chat coming through. Brian
[197:35] >> uh Sarah Hatchorian. Thank you Sarah.
[197:37] $5. Apparently, the Batman part two was
[197:39] only briefly mentioned during the WB
[197:41] closing presentation. Do you think it
[197:43] could come out in 2028 or later? Yeah. I
[197:45] mean, I I don't have any
[197:47] >> No, I think they're still trying to get
[197:49] it out next year.
[197:50] >> I think they're trying, but I think also
[197:52] like Matt Reeves is slow is is the is
[197:55] the vibe I get. And I And I get the vibe
[197:58] that Matt Reeves is slow and James Gun
[198:00] wants to let him work at his pace.
[198:02] >> Yeah. Which is a good call. I will say
[198:04] it is slated for late next year, October
[198:07] of 2027. So that's still
[198:09] >> 18 months away or whatever.
[198:12] >> That's enough time.
[198:13] >> Yes, it is. It is enough time, but I I I
[198:16] wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed.
[198:18] >> Maybe. Maybe. I hope not.
[198:19] >> I hope not, too. I really want to see
[198:21] it. I like
[198:21] >> really looking forward to that movie.
[198:22] So yeah.
[198:24] >> Um Okay. Well, are there any closing
[198:27] thoughts? Uh uh Sahib Singh9897 $2 super
[198:31] chat Aegon's Conquest movie
[198:34] uh yeah that would be WB with HBO right
[198:37] like
[198:37] >> yes and apparently that was mentioned or
[198:40] at least the news came out discussing
[198:41] film is uh has reported that and Agon's
[198:45] Quest movie is officially in the works
[198:46] now I mean in the works is a vague kind
[198:49] of language
[198:49] >> it is it could mean development it could
[198:51] mean production it could mean they have
[198:52] a script there's a lot that
[198:54] >> interesting to take a franchise that has
[198:56] wholly been on television
[198:58] and go the theatrical route.
[199:00] >> Arguably divi defined a generation of
[199:02] prestige TV like argu you could I think
[199:05] you can make a fair case that Game of
[199:07] Thrones set a new bar for what was
[199:09] expected from prestige TV.
[199:11] >> But you know what? If we're just
[199:13] depicting a kind of a singular event,
[199:15] the conquest, Aegon coming with his
[199:18] sister wives, you think we're we're
[199:20] going to do some Game of Thrones [ __ ]
[199:21] and not have some incest, baby, you
[199:23] wrong. Okay. Uh but like you know this
[199:25] kind of one battle conquest that feels
[199:27] like that could work in a 2 and 1 half
[199:29] hour movie and maybe I don't need nine
[199:31] episodes or four seasons or
[199:33] >> you could do something like you know the
[199:35] uh like Harrenhal could have been its
[199:37] own movie you know like uh just give a
[199:39] little bit of like character setup at
[199:40] the top why everyone is where they are
[199:42] and then just like you know tear it
[199:43] down.
[199:43] >> Yeah. I I'll be interested to see what
[199:44] talent is behind that. Who are they
[199:46] getting to direct that? How will that
[199:47] feel like not just a long episode of
[199:49] Game of Thrones? Right.
[199:50] >> Yeah.
[199:51] >> Um well should we should we wrap it up
[199:53] here? This was a longer panel than
[199:55] anticipated.
[199:56] >> I know. WB really like
[199:58] >> Yeah.
[199:58] >> pulling to Milton Burl tonight and
[200:00] really just, you know, going big. Um,
[200:03] yeah. Thank you everybody for watching.
