[0:00] Hey guys, it's Rush. Hope you're doing [0:01] well. Welcome back to the channel. This [0:03] video today I'm covering Punishers for [0:05] Alex. This is moves on block normals and [0:07] specials. Not an in-depth video, just a [0:09] very basic video to cover some of the [0:11] key Punishers. So first move on the list [0:14] is Alex's stand light kick. It's minus [0:16] five on block. If you're close up [0:19] you can get a punish counter stand jab [0:22] that will link into crouching medium [0:23] kick. If you're at moderate range, you [0:26] won't get a stand light punch there. It [0:28] won't reach. But if you're about this [0:31] range, you can get a stand light kick [0:33] punish. [0:34] However, there is a problem with this [0:36] because Alex can cancel the stand light [0:38] kick into the light axe. Light axe is [0:41] minus four on block. [0:43] But you can't [0:45] punish this. You're never in range to [0:47] connect. [0:49] If you try and take your turn back off [0:51] the stand light kick or try and punish, [0:53] the issue here is if you do stand light [0:55] kick, you will get counter hit. [0:57] If you do stand light punch, you can get [1:00] a best a trade, which is not in your [1:02] favor. [1:04] Next on the list is Alex's stand medium [1:06] kick. This is minus four on block, but I [1:08] don't think you'll ever be at a range to [1:10] punish this move. [1:13] It pushes you back quite a bit and at [1:15] the range Alex will use it at, you won't [1:17] be able to connect. [1:21] But you can see at close proximity [1:24] you can get a jab punish counter into [1:26] crouching medium kick. Non-charged stand [1:29] heavy kick. This is a weird animation [1:31] that you see. It actually slides Alex [1:32] towards you. So it can be quite easy to [1:35] mis-space when they uses it this attack. [1:37] So if they mis-space it and slide into [1:39] your range [1:41] stand jab again is the option. [1:44] It's very close or [1:46] you can go into a crouching medium punch [1:48] off the stand light punch. This is not a [1:50] neutral button, it's an anti-air. But [1:51] crouch heavy punch, if you do for some [1:53] reason block this in the neutral, this [1:55] is minus six on block. [1:58] Close range you will get a crouching [1:59] medium punch. And if it's at sort of [2:02] range where the crouching medium punch [2:03] doesn't connect, you could do level two [2:05] to punish this. But it's not a neutral [2:08] button to use. [2:11] Alex's sweep is nothing special. It's [2:13] not one of those sweeps where they do [2:15] it, you get space and trapped or trying [2:18] to sweep back. You can always sweep it. [2:22] Stand heavy punch will also reach very [2:24] far out. [2:32] So Alex's jump down heavy punch dive [2:34] attack. This has variable frame data [2:36] depending on where it hits. So if it [2:38] hits very high, the worst it's going to [2:40] be is minus 14. I've seen it about minus [2:43] 12 at close proximity as minus 12. [2:46] You always get a crouch heavy punch [2:48] there if badly spaced. [2:52] If they're doing it and you're kind of [2:53] close, you may want to do a stand jab [2:56] just if you're not sure because you'll [2:58] get a punish counter link into other [3:00] buttons. [3:03] Give you a warning, it can be made safe. [3:06] That there was only minus one for Alex [3:08] because it hit so late in the animation. [3:12] So the two target combos, only the [3:14] crouching light kick into crouch heavy [3:16] kick is punishable. Now this is a weird [3:18] string. I don't know what this is for. [3:20] Maybe there's tech that I'm not aware [3:21] of. But with this the There's two [3:24] things. If you block the crouching light [3:26] kick, you can just interrupt the cancel [3:29] into the heavy kick with crouching light [3:31] punch. You can throw that into target [3:33] combo. If you block the whole thing [3:36] it's minus 15 on block. So this is like [3:39] mad punishable. You want to be doing [3:41] stand heavy punch there I feel. [3:44] Cuz you can go for the Jinrai, sorry, [3:47] the dragon lash loops. So we're now [3:49] looking at proud of stance and we're [3:50] looking at the medium punch, the [3:52] shoulder launcher out of proud of [3:53] stance. Now this is minus six on block [3:57] if you do end up blocking it. [4:04] So you get your standard sort of like [4:06] six frame Punishers. That was a stand [4:08] medium punch link into crouch heavy [4:09] punch. But you can do a crouching medium [4:12] punch if you block it as well. [4:18] But just be careful. If this hits a [4:21] little later in the active frames, it [4:23] won't actually be punishable. So that [4:25] was actually minus five, so it's still [4:26] punishable. If I try and get it [4:28] somewhere about like there, yeah, there [4:30] is minus three, not actually punishable. [4:32] So be careful with this. You only want [4:34] to try and go for a punish if you're [4:36] kind of close. If you're not sure stand [4:40] light punch into stand light kick or [4:42] something like that for a punish. So the [4:44] crouching heavy kick crouching heavy [4:46] kick target combo out of proud of [4:47] stance. This is a little bit of an odd [4:50] move. So it has two hits. The first move [4:53] is minus 17. The second move is minus [4:56] 20. If you press in between the sequence [5:00] you will get counter hit. [5:06] >> [groaning] [5:08] >> You also don't want to stand heavy punch [5:10] the second heavy kick in the target [5:12] combo because it will whiff. So if you [5:14] block it [5:16] crouch heavy punch is your option there. [5:17] So we mentioned light flash axe. That is [5:20] only minus four and you get pushed out [5:22] to a point you can't punish it. But with [5:25] the medium, it is minus six on block. [5:29] You will get a punish here, but the push [5:30] back is a little strange. So you don't [5:32] get a link into crouch heavy punch. [5:36] Crouch medium kick is a good link off [5:39] the close range stand medium punch. [5:42] For consistency's sake, you may just [5:44] want to crouching medium punch this. [5:48] Of course, if very far out, you can do [5:50] super R2 as a raw punish. [5:54] The OD flash chop. This is minus four on [5:56] block, but it pushes you out making your [5:59] jab whiff. So you got to be careful with [6:01] taking your turn back there. [6:04] The heavy and EX knee smash that Alex [6:06] has, they can connect with you whilst [6:08] you're grounded. And if you block them [6:11] or if they just come out by mistake, it [6:12] will leave Alex very negative. Minus 42 [6:16] for the heavy, minus 46 for the OD [6:18] version. So both of these moves you can [6:22] run overhead to punish them or you can [6:24] do run tattoo I believe. [6:34] Alex's level one, you can get a neutral [6:37] jump heavy punch punish on that. [6:41] Run tattoo. [6:46] And run into overhead. [6:49] Level two on block you can get a run [6:50] overhead, but it's very tight. [6:55] Run tattoo is the way to go. [6:59] Both versions of his level three are [7:01] minus 38 on block. So you can get a jump [7:04] heavy punch there. [7:07] And that means run overhead works. [7:12] Of course, run tattoo. [7:15] That is it for the video guys. Hope that [7:16] helps. Any questions, any queries, [7:17] always give me a shout and I'll catch [7:19] you in the next one. Take care.
