# How I Reprogrammed My Brain to Create Generational Wealth

> Source: [How I Reprogrammed My Brain to Create Generational Wealth](https://youtube.com/watch?v=FydJxNRrXMs)

## Summary

The video discusses five mental traits that distinguish people who build wealth from scratch, emphasizing mindset over money. The speaker shares personal stories and practical advice on delayed gratification, identity separation, learning by doing, managing risk, and using pain as fuel.

### Key Points

- **Tolerating delayed gratification** [00:43] — People who achieve success from scratch are willing to sacrifice comfort today for results that may take years. They accept long, boring periods of work without immediate results.
- **The 1000-day rule** [01:12] — The speaker's rule: commit to a project for at least 3 years (1000 days) before judging its success. His first three e-commerce stores failed, but the fourth brought €4,000 net in a month.
- **Ferrari vs. diesel car analogy** [02:05] — Running a business like a Ferrari (fast but unreliable) is bad; instead, aim to be a reliable 2010 German diesel car that lasts for years. The goal is longevity, not speed.
- **Separating identity from circumstances** [02:48] — Successful people see themselves as who they will become, not their current situation. The speaker overcame a stutter by repetition and effort, building a new identity.
- **Accumulating fulfilled promises** [04:08] — Self-confidence comes from keeping small promises to yourself, systematically, until your mind accepts you as someone new.
- **Learning through action, not perfection** [05:15] — Perfectionism is an excuse. The speaker's mistake at 19: spent months perfecting a website instead of validating the market, losing €10 per €50 sale. Launch imperfectly and iterate.
- **Managing risk, not avoiding it** [06:51] — Controlled risk: take calculated risks with a solid foundation. The speaker quit his job only after his e-commerce matched his salary, and moved out with a safety net.
- **Burning your bridges** [08:21] — Eliminate plan B to force yourself to succeed. Plan B drains focus and provides an excuse.
- **Using pain as fuel** [08:48] — Successful people are driven by pain, not applause. The speaker used the contrast with his wife's discipline to motivate himself.
- **The environment shapes behavior** [10:20] — Surround yourself with disciplined people; discomfort motivates. The pain of lack is fuel for the first 1000 days.
- **Choosing the right vehicle** [11:14] — Some business models (e.g., marketing agency, dropshipping) are flawed. E-commerce with a brand is an asset that appreciates, worth 2-3x profit, or 5x if multi-channel.

### Conclusion

Wealth is built on a strong mindset first; money follows. By adopting these five mental traits, anyone can build a business that provides financial freedom and security.

## Transcript

from scratch can create two very different results. Some are use it as fuel. People who build wealth from scratch they think differently about risk,
discomfort. Their biggest advantage at the beginning is not money, it's observing it closely for over a decade. I have helped more than 2,000 entrepreneurs to generate more than 500 million euros in revenue, and throughout my life I have met both
people who are still trying to start and who have never completely different results. That's why , in this video, I'm going to tell you about the those who come from nothing and build wealth. Let's start with the first
People who achieve success from scratch tolerate delayed gratification They are willing to sacrifice comfort today for something that might not arrive for two, three, or even five years. While others
need to see quick results to stay motivated, these types of people accept long, boring periods in which nothing happens. They work, they test, they regardless of the outcome. Let me tell you what happened to me
personally when I started in e-commerce almost 14 years ago. My first store didn't work, the second one didn't work out completely either, and the third one gave me some . I spent a year closing my laptop in the early hours of the morning, having worked more than
anything until my fourth store came along, a backpack store for digital nomads. And thanks to that fourth store the first, second and third, I was able to achieve my first month of €4,000
net. That's why I have a rule in my head, the 1000-day rule, 3 years. It's the minimum reasonable time. with which you have to commit to a Before that, you don't really know if it works or not, you just know that you haven't
held out long enough. And another analogy I use a lot is that you shouldn't try to able to buy a Ferrari, if that's what you want, you don't have to act like one. A Ferrari is a really cool car, it accelerates really fast, it
wants to take pictures with it, but the reality is that it's uncomfortable. You have to stop to refuel every so often. It also spends a lot of time in the workshop because something is always breaking, and we do n't want you to run your company
like a Ferrari. What you really want is to be a 2010 German diesel car. A car that can go 100 km on a tank, that you can cruise at 120 km/h on the highway in automatic mode , that's very reliable, and that will
last you for years. Because the entrepreneur's game is not won by the one who makes the most money in the least amount of time, but by the one who is able to continue generating money for the longest time . The only way to lose at this is to give up, and if you don't give up, you're
mental trait. It is more subtle than the previous one, but just as powerful. success separate identity from current circumstances. And this is important. They may be without money, they may be working as employees,
they may be living with their parents, but their identity is no longer that of the circumstance, their identity is now [music] in who they are going to become. And everyone else opposite. The rest look at their pockets, look at their paychecks and say, "This is me." And
from this place, nothing is built. From the age of 6 to 16, I was a stutterer. I couldn't even say three words in a row without stumbling in class. Imagine what it's like to be 10 years old and have your identity be the one you can't
my teachers and I told me for years at school . When I started my video in front of the camera, that identity suddenly returned. I suffered in front of the camera and the first time I recorded a video it literally took me about 3
hours and I had to make 500 cuts to get a single well-edited minute, but that didn't stop me from achieving what I wanted, so I recorded hundreds of videos until I was able to achieve it. And you know what I learned from all this? That I didn't overcome the
overcame it thanks to repetition, effort, and learning from tutors. And that created a new identity. I call this accumulating fulfilled promises. Self-confidence doesn't come from motivation, your starting point, or what you
believe. It stems from making small promises to yourself that you systematically keep until your mind has no choice but to accept that you are someone else. Your attitude, yes. And here I want to leave you with an important idea for you who are just
starting out. The company is always a reflection of the founder. Before you can improve because the person who is going to achieve that success already has that mindset before and you see yourself reflected in either of these first two traits,
mindset. And before we move on to the next three features, I want to share when I started. A private video where I explain the six beliefs that are keeping you poor and how to destroy them. one by one. And you won't find this video
my paid programs, or on any public [music] site. It's completely people who are watching this video with me right now. If you've made it this far , this is going to blow your mind, literally. If you want it, go
Mo, and send me the word "money" in a direct message and I'll send it to you. Now let's move on to the third mental trait. Learn through majority of people who want to
perfect moment, they wait to have the perfect plan, the perfect product, the perfect website, they wait to read one more book, to take one more course, for the moment to be the moment and that moment never comes. Do you know why? Because perfection is
simply an excuse, but disguised as professionalism. People who achieve success from scratch think in reverse, they make lists, they test, they fail, they adapt and learn as they go. And I'm telling you this from experience; I made a
mistake with this when I was 19. I had some small savings, which I had shopping center, and I decided to use those savings to import cheap costume jewelry and watches from China to sell them online. And instead of going out to sell from
minute one, do you know what I did? I locked myself in at home, set up a home photography studio , designed a website that I thought would be perfect, made and redid the catalog several times, many months passed and when I finally went out to sell,
reality slapped me in the face. I was losing €10 for every €50 sale I made. €10 lost for each sale, because I had locked myself away to perfect aesthetic things instead of validating the market. The real market
continued tweaking the colors of my website. And I learned something very important at that moment. Building in secret based on assumptions is the most expensive mistake this. What you [music] have to do is what I call
launch an e-commerce site without it being perfect. You start with fear, you start with the feeling that you are not ready, but you start that e-commerce, you validate what the market tells you, not according to what your head tells you. And execution is
next trait I'm going to tell you about is the one that people understand the least. The fourth trait is that controlled risk suits you. When someone says risk, the first thing they think of is madness, chance, danger. No, people who achieve
success from scratch don't love danger, they manage it, they don't do crazy things, they don't mortgage their house without having money, they don't take out a loan to invest in cryptocurrency, they don't quit their job overnight without having anything set up.
That's not bravery, that's stupidity. Courage is something else. Courage is taking a calculated risk, knowing where you 're aiming, what your start has a solid foundation, and still moving forward. When
shopping mall, I knew I didn't like that job at all. I thought about it every morning as soon as I woke up. And yet I didn't quit that job overnight. What job when my first e-commerce business
generates the same net profit as my until I achieved that goal with my fourth online store, which generated my first €4,000 net in a single month—almost triple what I was earning at
did? I also moved out of my parents' house with a few thousand euros in the bank. Just enough for two months of survival, but with the certainty that I could live off my e-commerce business. Does that seem like a risk? Yes. Does that seem like a
senseless move? No. I had sales evidence behind it. I had a model that was already generating revenue and would provide me with a long-term asset, and at the same time, I burned through my safety net to force myself to succeed. This is what I call burning
your bridges: eliminating plan B so your brain doesn't get complacent looking for an easy way out. Plan B takes your focus away, drains your resources, and gives you a An excuse decision of this magnitude, you don't seek external validation, you don't ask permission from those
around you; you inform and execute, because only you know your potential and how far you can go. Let's move on to the fifth mental trait. praise. Successful people who build something great aren't driven by
applause; they're driven by pain. Applause is weak fuel; it lasts Social media motivation lasts a week. What truly sustains effort for years isn't praise, but the memory of something that hurt, the memory of
lack, the memory of humiliation, the memory of "I don't want to be at this point anymore." That's the fuel that truly pushes you forward in the long run. When I met my wife, she was 19 , studying medicine, progressing year by
year, studying four to six hours a day. And what was I doing at that time? Well, I was a sales clerk in a store at a shopping mall. I had a good academic record. I was p.m., opening her books and putting in six hours. And I felt a little
ashamed, uncomfortable, it hurt to realize that I wasn't on her level, that level of discipline. And you know what I did with that pain? I used it. I started opening my laptop to work on my e-commerce site every afternoon at the same time
she was opening her books. And that pain, that contrast, is exactly what pushed me to get where I am now. I call that the engineering of you're low. Your brain goes into energy-saving mode if there are no
voluntarily expose yourself to environments or people who are more successful or more disciplined than you. That contrast is uncomfortable, and discomfort motivates you. The environment is what most impacts your behavior. If you're surrounded by
comfortable people, you'll be comfortable. If you 're surrounded by people who are moving, you'll be moving. That's how it works. And for you, who are just starting out, that pain That frustration you have, that financial freedom, perhaps that humiliation you remember, that lack—that's
exactly the fuel that will sustain you for the first 1,000 days of your when those around you tell you you've lost your mind, draw on that. Successful people who started from scratch don't chase applause; they chase the
escape route to the life they want. Achieving success from zero a mental one. And that's why I've explained these five mental traits to you: tolerating delayed gratification, separating your identity from your circumstances, learning
through action rather than perfection, managing risk instead of running away, and using pain as fuel. Money comes later, it always comes [music] because before building wealth, people who build it
build a mind that can withstand the journey to it. And if you only two or three for now, the vehicle for achieving that wealth matters. In the are also paths designed to lead you nowhere. Let me
marketing agency depends on your time, and with AI, prices are plummeting. good decision, but the customer belongs to Amazon, not you. Classic dropshipping is a race where nobody cares about the customer, but
is one of the few models that pays you a salary while appreciating in value as an asset. A single online store is worth two to three times its profit . If you turn it into a brand with multiple channels, it's worth five to
wealth while you're still alive. And with your mindset aligned, all you need to do is execute. Imagine yourself in three years. Imagine you've made it through the 1,000 days. Imagine you've learned by doing. Imagine you've separated
your identity from where you are today. And in three years, with a business that pays you, with more free time, with greater financial security, Living off something own hands. That vision is real for anyone with this mindset who starts
