[00:00] views anymore, you might need to reset your algorithm. Now, every single channel on YouTube has a hidden rating that basically controls how much reach [00:12] your videos get. And when that score drops, so does your views. So, in this video, I'm going to show you what that hidden rating is and the easiest way to reset it. Let's get into it. So, what actually is an algorithm rating? Well, [00:26] the easiest way to understand it is this. Every single YouTube channel on the platform basically has an invisible data profile. And this profile builds up over time. With every single upload, YouTube will collect signals from things [00:42] such as your niche, the type of viewers you attract, your click-through rate, your watch time, your attention, your search behavior, viewer satisfaction, what other types of videos your viewers watch, and so much more. Now, it does [00:55] get super complicated when you get into the crux of it, but basically all of these bits of data feed into one profile about your channel. And then the algorithm uses this profile to predict who your content is for and how far it [01:11] should push out your videos. Now, they do this so when you upload a brand new video, YouTube will already have all of the information it needs. So instead of just guessing who it's for, it will use your past data to decide who to show it [01:26] to first. So in the ideal world, if your data profile is clear and consistent, YouTube can confidently show your video to the right people the right time. But if your profile is a bit messy or the data is really unclear, the platform [01:42] restricting your videos instead because it basically wants to avoid potentially showing your videos to the wrong people. So it would rather just hide your videos all together and not show them to anyone. And this is a really deep hole [01:57] to get out of. But don't worry, I will show you a way of how to fix it. But happens. like what actually ruins a channel's data profile in the first [02:09] place? Well, what usually happens is that over time, if your channel's data is bad, it means it's collected way too many mixed signals that kind of all change your niche or when you start mixing different types of content or [02:24] when you chase trends that sit outside of your kind of like core topic or when you copy multiple different creators at once or when you keep trying different styles of things. And over time, without you knowing it, your channel will slowly [02:38] build up a negative data profile because all of these different signals are hitting your channel at once and your profile just becomes super confusing. And that's when YouTube will really start to struggle to confidently match [02:51] your videos to the right audience. Like the type of viewers who see your content will be constantly changing. So then your performance becomes inconsistent and some videos will flop for absolutely no reason. And over time the system will [03:05] being like necessarily punished, but because YouTube no longer knows who it can safely show your content to. And that's a point where most creators feel [03:17] become like algorithmically confused. So if you feel like your channel is a bit stuck and you feel like you need to reset your algorithm rating, here are [03:29] five different steps you can take. Now the very first step in this process is just to take a step back and have like a one or two week calling off period where you don't upload anything. Now I would personally recommend more like two [03:43] weeks, but I know that many of you will be itching to get back posting after just one week off. So, in some cases, one week could be okay, but not posting for a couple of weeks basically like stops any more negative signals from [03:55] being fed into your data profile. You should think of it as like letting the dust settle a bit. This won't necessarily erase any past data, but it will help to stop the negative momentum that's been building up, and it will [04:08] allow you to start fresh from your next upload. And as you're in this cooling off period, I would suggest you take the time to completely evaluate your entire channel. And by doing this, you need to analyze what types of videos have been [04:22] performing well for you. Now, this isn't just about views. It's also about identifying which videos attracted the right audience you want to attract, which videos held attention the longest, and which videos led to more people [04:34] watching more than just one video. Because these videos, these successful videos contain the clearest signal of what YouTube once understood about your channel. And that information will give you the fastest path back to clarity and [04:47] growth. So find your best performing videos and really study them. Study the video analytics, the audience analytics, everything. And once you've identified your best performing long form videos, this is the perfect time to clip up [05:01] those videos into multiple different shorts. because every clip you post out becomes another positive signal to YouTube and it allows it to gather more data about the type of viewer your channel should be reaching. Now, you can [05:14] do this quickly by using an AI tool like Nexus Clips. Just upload the long form video and let it automatically pull out the strongest moments, the viral hooks, and the best insights. These shorts will then support your long form videos by [05:27] reinforcing your niche and helping to bring in more of the right audience. next job is to commit the next 90 days to creating content for only one very [05:40] specific audience in one very specific niche. So every new upload, every title, every description, and your overall keyword targeting should point to the exact same one type of viewer. And at the same time as this, your channel [05:54] needs to fully reflect that direction, too. So, your channel description, your channel tags, your playlists, and your positioning should all match up. So, this means you also need to make sure that all of your channel SEO reflects [06:07] the niche and the audience you want to target. And doing all of this will make sure your new content and your actual channel are optimized and aligned properly. And it's going to prevent any mixed signals going forward. And things [06:20] you. And then the final step is you need to make three algorithm reset videos because these three videos will act like a reset button. They'll help to wipe [06:33] away the negative signals from the past and replace them with clean, reliable information. And if done correctly, they will help to improve your data profile. And when you plan these three algorithm reset videos, they need to all do the [06:46] following things. Number one, stay laser focused on your niche. Now, all three of these videos should be about the exact same topic area you committed to in step four. No experimenting, no reaching outside your lane. These videos should [07:01] feel like exact examples of what your channel is now about. Number two, have crystal clear packaging. So, before filming, you need to decide on a title and thumbnail that instantly makes sense to your target viewers. Someone should [07:16] be able to look at your packaging and immediately understand what the video is about, who the video is for, why the video is worth clicking on. Because when YouTube sees clear packaging paired with a clear niche, it becomes so much easier [07:30] to match your content with the right audience. Again, then number three, deliver your value quickly and consistently. The videos themselves should be your cleanest, strongest, best work. Simple structure, good pacing, and [07:43] a clear payoff. I don't want any confusing intros, definitely no rambling, no major style shifts, just a strong, straightforward execution that reinforces your core topic. And when you come to release these free reset videos, [07:57] you give YouTube a fresh set of strong, consistent data points. And if these videos outperform your old ones, even just slightly, the algorithm will gain confidence in you again.
