[0:00] Hey folks, this is Khani. Patch 1207 [0:03] offers several new gearing up options [0:05] which let solo content players get up to [0:07] item level 285 gear and even higher in [0:11] some cases. That's the highest item [0:13] levels solo players have ever been able [0:15] to obtain during a season. So you can go [0:18] into season 2 fully decked out like [0:20] everyone else. So, let's go over the new [0:22] gearing options in 1207, how you can [0:24] quickly get hero gear if you're [0:26] returning to the game, and how you can [0:28] get your hands on some of the best gear [0:30] available without jumping into any group [0:33] content. Now, before we jump in, be sure [0:35] to hit up that like button and subscribe [0:37] so you never miss another video. With [0:40] the arrival of patch 1207, almost every [0:42] old gearing up option or path has been [0:45] more or less invalidated. Any gear [0:48] source below champion isn't really worth [0:50] spending your time on due to the new [0:52] zones in this patch. To unlock these [0:54] zones, you'll need to complete the [0:56] quests from Riftblade Meia in Silver [0:58] Moon. Progress through those and you'll [1:00] open up a portal to one of the two new [1:02] zones, Val and Nagtal. These zones are [1:05] on a weekly rotation, so we only have [1:07] access to one of them at a time, but the [1:09] gameplay loop is more or less the same [1:11] for both of them. There are two main [1:14] rewards that we're interested in here. [1:16] The first is field accolades. Everything [1:18] you do in the zone will reward you with [1:20] the field accolades currency. Whether [1:22] that's completing world quests and [1:24] objectives on the map, killing rare [1:26] spawns, or just looting treasures, it [1:28] all rewards you with field accolades. [1:31] Those rewards are higher if you choose [1:33] to enter the zone on heroic mode, and [1:35] you can do that using the drop-down menu [1:37] on the portal or teleporter when you're [1:39] zoning into these zones. Heroic mode is [1:42] quite a bit harder, but as long as there [1:44] are plenty of people running around, it [1:46] shouldn't be too bad. I would mainly [1:49] focus on killing rares whenever they pop [1:51] up. If you're on heroic mode, each rare [1:54] kill will reward you with 60 field [1:55] accolades, which is kind of crazy. Every [1:58] rare also has a chance to drop warbound [2:00] champion gear. So, that's a very easy [2:02] source of champion gear if you're [2:04] playing a lower geared character. and [2:06] you can scroll away everything you don't [2:09] need to help gear up your rolls much [2:10] faster later on. It seems there's about [2:13] 20 minutes between rare spawns. So keep [2:15] your eyes peeled for the yell [2:17] announcement in chat and check your map [2:19] for where the rare spawned. [2:22] While you're waiting for the next rare, [2:23] you can work on the zone quests, world [2:26] quests, and the bonus objectives on your [2:28] map. The world quests in these zones are [2:30] on a much shorter cycle than usual. Each [2:33] one only lasts an hour and they spawn [2:35] every 20 minutes from what I can tell. [2:38] Each one rewards 30 field accolades and [2:40] they're fairly quick to complete. The [2:42] bonus objectives appear to be a bit more [2:44] random, but they will continue to pop up [2:46] periodically, so they're worth [2:48] completing as well. Between the world [2:50] quests, the rare spawns, and the bonus [2:52] objectives, you should always have [2:54] something to do in the new zone that [2:56] will be earning you more field [2:57] accolades. You should also pick up any [3:00] treasures that you come across while out [3:02] adventuring as each treasure contains [3:04] eight field accolades on heroic mode. So [3:06] that's going to add up very quickly. And [3:09] then if you do end up with no rares, no [3:11] world quests, and you can't find any [3:13] more treasures, most elites in the zone [3:16] actually drop five field accolades each [3:18] when you kill them. This includes the [3:20] roaming elites that are little schools [3:22] on the map. So they are actually worth [3:24] killing. If you see someone fighting an [3:26] elite and you don't have your next [3:28] target locked in, go give them a hand. [3:30] The more people that know that elites [3:32] are worth killing, the more folks you'll [3:34] see helping each other out, which just [3:36] leads to more field accolades for [3:38] everyone. [3:40] You'll also want to make sure you pick [3:41] up the zone weekly quests before heading [3:44] out. The first one is the showdown [3:46] weekly quest, and this is just your [3:48] standard fill the bar type quest, so [3:50] everything is going to count towards [3:52] that. When you hand it in, you'll get a [3:53] bag of goodies that contains 175 field [3:56] accolades, 15 myth crests, and 15 hero [4:00] crests. So, you can put all of those [4:02] rewards to good use. But when you hand [4:04] that quest in, you'll actually gain [4:06] access to another weekly quest that [4:09] rewards another bag of goodies. You can [4:11] choose between world quests and [4:13] objectives or rare and elite kills. So, [4:15] make sure you pick that up before [4:16] heading back out so you can get another [4:18] bag with 175 field accolades and 10 hero [4:22] crests. It doesn't stop there, though. [4:24] After you complete that quest, you'll be [4:26] able to choose the other option that you [4:28] didn't already complete. So, you can [4:30] actually pick up and complete three [4:32] weekly quests to take part in the zones [4:34] activities, and each one will reward you [4:36] with 175 field accolades. All of these [4:40] weekly quests can then be repeated on [4:42] your alts if you really want to. So, [4:44] that's one way to earn a lot of field [4:46] accolades quite quickly for each of the [4:48] characters that you're wanting to gear [4:50] up before season 1 comes to an end. In a [4:53] couple of hours play time, I was able to [4:55] pick up almost 1,700 field accolades. [4:58] And I know I missed quite a few rares in [5:00] that time. So, you can earn field [5:01] accolades quite quickly in the new [5:03] zones. Now, if you find yourself dying [5:07] too much on heroic mode, you can just [5:09] knock the difficulty down to normal and [5:11] do more or less the same thing. It's [5:13] just going to be a bit slower because [5:15] everything rewards fewer field [5:17] accolades. The rares still drop champion [5:19] gear though, so it may be a good idea to [5:21] stay on normal mode until you have a few [5:23] pieces of champion gear under your belt. [5:26] But that's going to be up to you and how [5:27] much you're struggling. I imagine fewer [5:29] players will be in the normal modes, [5:31] though, so you might find it difficult [5:32] to kill the rares or complete objectives [5:34] if you're all by yourself on a lower [5:36] geared character. I guess we'll have to [5:38] wait and see where the player base [5:40] decides to congregate. [5:43] Another easy source of gear comes from [5:45] the new zone world bosses. On heroic [5:47] world tier, the world bosses can drop [5:49] hero warbound gear. And this works just [5:51] like the other world bosses in midnight. [5:53] So, you aren't guaranteed to get an item [5:55] your current class can use, but you are [5:58] guaranteed a piece of gear for your [6:00] first kill on your account for the week. [6:02] So, you will get a piece of hero gear. [6:04] It just might not be the one you want. [6:06] The good news though is that you can [6:08] trade it over to an alt. So at least [6:09] you're gearing up one of your characters [6:11] with that free piece of hero gear. If [6:14] you only kill the world boss on heroic [6:16] mode, you'll also get a piece of [6:17] warbound champion gear at the same time, [6:20] which is a nice bonus. The world boss [6:22] world quest rewards you with over 200 [6:24] field accolades on heroic difficulty, [6:27] and the quest to kill the world boss [6:28] rewards another 75, which is a huge [6:31] chunk to put towards your next piece of [6:33] gear. [6:35] Now, before you get your world boss [6:36] kills in, make sure you pick up the [6:38] knocking off the top quest from Desimus. [6:41] This quest requires you to kill the [6:43] world boss in four different weeks to [6:44] obtain a special quest item, and it [6:46] rewards you with a myth track piece of [6:48] gear. You can choose between a cloak, a [6:51] belt, and some braces. So, that's one [6:53] slot that you can fill more or less for [6:55] free for just keeping up with this quest [6:57] and getting your world boss kills in [6:59] each week. I would encourage you to look [7:01] at the stats on each piece of gear from [7:03] the quest and compare it with what you [7:05] would get if you put these pieces of [7:07] gear into the catalyst. You can easily [7:09] check your catalyst results by using an [7:11] add-on like keystone loot. Find the item [7:13] with the best stats for your class or [7:15] spec and then lock that item in. Then [7:17] you can avoid that gear slot when [7:19] obtaining gear from other sources to [7:21] make things even more efficient. [7:24] You can take all of your hard-earned [7:25] field accolades and spend them to get [7:27] more champion gear or preferably some [7:30] hero gear. You can buy champion gear for [7:32] specific gear slots for 100 field [7:34] accolades each, which can be worth it if [7:37] you're still struggling to stay alive in [7:39] the heroic world tier. But personally, I [7:42] would recommend saving up for the hero [7:43] gear boxes instead. You can spend 500 [7:46] field accolades for a random piece of [7:48] hero gear or 750 if you want to target a [7:52] specific gear slot. I would probably get [7:54] the one random box to start off with if [7:57] you don't have any hero gear yet. That's [7:59] going to save you 250 accolades for the [8:01] most part, but after that, I would [8:03] probably stick to the gear slot boxes. [8:06] When these hero boxes were first [8:07] introduced, I bought three random boxes [8:10] just to test things out, and I got three [8:12] weapons in a row. So, I don't really [8:14] trust the odds there. I'd rather kill a [8:17] few more rares and know that I'm going [8:18] to get an upgrade. When you're buying [8:21] your hero gear, remember to avoid buying [8:23] pieces of gear for the same slot that [8:25] your Myth Track quest gear is going to [8:27] be in. So, if you reckon you're going to [8:29] pick up the belt from that quest in 4 [8:31] weeks time, don't buy a belt from this [8:33] vendor. You don't want to waste 750 [8:36] field accolades if you can avoid it. [8:39] So, that's how you can easily kick [8:41] yourself out in full hero gear just from [8:43] these new zones, but you can actually go [8:45] a bit higher thanks to the new [8:47] difficulty option for ritual sites. Tier [8:50] six ritual sites reward you with five [8:52] myth crests per run, and you can run as [8:54] many as you want, giving solo content [8:56] players an endlessly farmable source of [8:59] myth crests for the first time. We also [9:01] don't have any crest caps to worry about [9:03] at this point. So, you can just run [9:04] these over and over again to farm as [9:06] many myth crests as you want or need. [9:09] Every 80 myth crests you get. So, for [9:12] every 16 tier six ritual sites you can [9:15] sit through, you can spend your crests [9:17] to upgrade a piece of radiant spark [9:19] crafted gear to item level 285. That's [9:22] the highest item level you can get as a [9:24] solo content player right now. The [9:26] current spot count is about 16, which [9:29] means you can craft eight pieces of [9:30] gear. If you don't include your tier set [9:33] pieces or trinkets, that means you can [9:35] cover most of your gear slots with [9:36] crafted gear right now. You also won't [9:39] have to craft a piece of gear for the [9:41] slot that your myth track gear quest [9:42] will fill in. So, that's one more slot [9:44] you don't have to worry about. Now, if [9:46] you haven't made your piece of gear yet, [9:48] whenever you go to craft it, or whenever [9:50] you make your crafting order in Silver [9:52] Moon, just add the crests in down at the [9:54] bottom of the crafting page. If you get [9:56] a rank five craft, it will be guaranteed [9:58] to be item level 285 if you're using [10:01] myth crests. If you've already made a [10:03] piece of gear, you can recraft it using [10:05] your own professions or by making a [10:07] recrafting order of the crafting order [10:09] clerks. It won't require as many [10:11] materials, and you can slot the [10:12] mythrests in the same way. [10:15] Because we're mostly interested in the [10:17] myth crest rewards from the end of your [10:19] ritual site run, you want to focus on [10:21] completing them as quickly as possible. [10:23] To that end, I would use these six [10:25] challenges, which means turning off [10:27] malevolent boons and embers and enabling [10:30] pretty much everything else. Those [10:31] specific challenges slow you down [10:33] significantly as you have to clear the [10:35] obelisks and empowered monsters before [10:37] you can take on the mini bosses and [10:39] bosses. With those challenges disabled, [10:41] you can just focus on completing the [10:43] objectives, which is just killing the [10:45] mini bosses and bosses, I would ignore [10:48] absolutely everything else, including [10:50] treasures and rares. Getting the lower [10:52] shrine buffs is still probably worth it, [10:54] though. Now, because ritual sites are [10:57] still going to be rewarding you with [10:59] field accolades, it's probably worth [11:01] moving on to tier six ritual sites [11:03] before you are fully equipped in hero [11:05] gear. Not only are you going to be [11:07] replacing some of those pieces with 285 [11:10] crafted gear as you earn enough myth [11:11] crests, but if you wait until you've [11:13] already bought a full set of hero gear, [11:15] you won't really have anything to buy [11:17] with the field accolades that you're [11:19] getting from farming ritual sites. So, I [11:21] would probably head on over to ritual [11:23] sites when you're in about half hero [11:25] gear and just test the waters. If you [11:27] need some more gear to make tier six a [11:29] bit easier, head back to the new zones [11:31] to keep farming there instead. [11:34] This is definitely more of a steady burn [11:36] kind of grind rather than getting it all [11:39] done at once gearing option. With a bit [11:41] of practice, you can probably clear a [11:43] tier six ritual site in 10 minutes or [11:45] less if you're being efficient. I [11:47] managed to get my runs down to 7 minutes [11:49] on my 277 Paladin. But with you needing [11:52] 16 ritual sites per piece of gear you [11:55] want to craft, it is still going to take [11:57] you quite a while. [11:59] It's also worth noting that if you don't [12:01] have all of your radiant sparks and [12:03] you're behind on this specific currency [12:05] in your currency tab, it's probably a [12:07] good idea to include some bountiful [12:09] delve runs to the list. Not only will [12:12] they help change things up and give you [12:14] a bit of a different scenery from ritual [12:15] sites, but you'll still be earning myth [12:17] crests. You can still get 20 myth crests [12:20] per week from running four tier 11 [12:22] bountiful delves, and they have a good [12:24] chance to drop a radiant spark if you [12:26] missed a few weekly quests. I'm not sure [12:28] if radiant sparks can drop from ritual [12:30] sites or from completing content in the [12:32] new zones. I personally haven't seen [12:34] any, so keep your eyes peeled for any [12:36] extra sparks. If they can drop from the [12:39] new content, fantastic. If they don't, [12:42] your main option as a solo content [12:44] player will be delves. And then don't [12:47] forget, you can use the ascendant void [12:49] cores from the nil hammer to boost the [12:51] item level of maxed out crafted hero or [12:54] myth track weapons and trinkets. So, you [12:56] can bump up the item level of your hero [12:58] trinkets as well as your crafted weapon [13:00] for a little bit of extra damage. And [13:02] that gets you an item level 295 weapon, [13:05] which is very shiny indeed. Now, if you [13:08] want to get your hands on some better [13:09] gear a bit faster, your only real option [13:12] would be jumping into mythic plus [13:13] dungeons and working your way up to plus [13:15] 10 keystones. They're not too difficult. [13:18] It just requires a bit of learning and a [13:19] bit of patience, but that will give you [13:21] access to guaranteed Myth Track gear by [13:24] using your void core bonus roles, as [13:26] well as faster hero gear acquisition and [13:28] faster Myth crest farming. If you manage [13:31] to get a full hero gear set from the new [13:33] zones, but really don't want to do the [13:35] ritual site farming, mythic plus keys [13:38] should be very easy with your shiny new [13:40] hero gear. But if you want to stick to [13:43] just solo player content, the new zones [13:45] and tier six ritual sites are where [13:47] you'll be spending most of your time. [13:49] But that's how you can get up to item [13:50] level 285 or higher as a solo content [13:54] player in patch 1207. So that's it for [13:56] this video. What are you going to be [13:58] focusing on as we lead up to patch 12.1 [14:00] and season 2 of Midnight? Leave all your [14:03] thoughts in the comment section below.
