## Summary

## Transcript

Hey folks, this is Khani. Patch 1207
offers several new gearing up options
which let solo content players get up to
item level 285 gear and even higher in
some cases. That's the highest item
levels solo players have ever been able
to obtain during a season. So you can go
into season 2 fully decked out like
everyone else. So, let's go over the new
gearing options in 1207, how you can
quickly get hero gear if you're
returning to the game, and how you can
get your hands on some of the best gear
available without jumping into any group
content. Now, before we jump in, be sure
to hit up that like button and subscribe
so you never miss another video. With
the arrival of patch 1207, almost every
old gearing up option or path has been
more or less invalidated. Any gear
source below champion isn't really worth
spending your time on due to the new
zones in this patch. To unlock these
zones, you'll need to complete the
quests from Riftblade Meia in Silver
Moon. Progress through those and you'll
open up a portal to one of the two new
zones, Val and Nagtal. These zones are
on a weekly rotation, so we only have
access to one of them at a time, but the
gameplay loop is more or less the same
for both of them. There are two main
rewards that we're interested in here.
The first is field accolades. Everything
you do in the zone will reward you with
the field accolades currency. Whether
that's completing world quests and
objectives on the map, killing rare
spawns, or just looting treasures, it
all rewards you with field accolades.
Those rewards are higher if you choose
to enter the zone on heroic mode, and
you can do that using the drop-down menu
on the portal or teleporter when you're
zoning into these zones. Heroic mode is
quite a bit harder, but as long as there
are plenty of people running around, it
shouldn't be too bad. I would mainly
focus on killing rares whenever they pop
up. If you're on heroic mode, each rare
kill will reward you with 60 field
accolades, which is kind of crazy. Every
rare also has a chance to drop warbound
champion gear. So, that's a very easy
source of champion gear if you're
playing a lower geared character. and
you can scroll away everything you don't
need to help gear up your rolls much
faster later on. It seems there's about
20 minutes between rare spawns. So keep
your eyes peeled for the yell
announcement in chat and check your map
for where the rare spawned.
While you're waiting for the next rare,
you can work on the zone quests, world
quests, and the bonus objectives on your
map. The world quests in these zones are
on a much shorter cycle than usual. Each
one only lasts an hour and they spawn
every 20 minutes from what I can tell.
Each one rewards 30 field accolades and
they're fairly quick to complete. The
bonus objectives appear to be a bit more
random, but they will continue to pop up
periodically, so they're worth
completing as well. Between the world
quests, the rare spawns, and the bonus
objectives, you should always have
something to do in the new zone that
will be earning you more field
accolades. You should also pick up any
treasures that you come across while out
adventuring as each treasure contains
eight field accolades on heroic mode. So
that's going to add up very quickly. And
then if you do end up with no rares, no
world quests, and you can't find any
more treasures, most elites in the zone
actually drop five field accolades each
when you kill them. This includes the
roaming elites that are little schools
on the map. So they are actually worth
killing. If you see someone fighting an
elite and you don't have your next
target locked in, go give them a hand.
The more people that know that elites
are worth killing, the more folks you'll
see helping each other out, which just
leads to more field accolades for
everyone.
You'll also want to make sure you pick
up the zone weekly quests before heading
out. The first one is the showdown
weekly quest, and this is just your
standard fill the bar type quest, so
everything is going to count towards
that. When you hand it in, you'll get a
bag of goodies that contains 175 field
accolades, 15 myth crests, and 15 hero
crests. So, you can put all of those
rewards to good use. But when you hand
that quest in, you'll actually gain
access to another weekly quest that
rewards another bag of goodies. You can
choose between world quests and
objectives or rare and elite kills. So,
make sure you pick that up before
heading back out so you can get another
bag with 175 field accolades and 10 hero
crests. It doesn't stop there, though.
After you complete that quest, you'll be
able to choose the other option that you
didn't already complete. So, you can
actually pick up and complete three
weekly quests to take part in the zones
activities, and each one will reward you
with 175 field accolades. All of these
weekly quests can then be repeated on
your alts if you really want to. So,
that's one way to earn a lot of field
accolades quite quickly for each of the
characters that you're wanting to gear
up before season 1 comes to an end. In a
couple of hours play time, I was able to
pick up almost 1,700 field accolades.
And I know I missed quite a few rares in
that time. So, you can earn field
accolades quite quickly in the new
zones. Now, if you find yourself dying
too much on heroic mode, you can just
knock the difficulty down to normal and
do more or less the same thing. It's
just going to be a bit slower because
everything rewards fewer field
accolades. The rares still drop champion
gear though, so it may be a good idea to
stay on normal mode until you have a few
pieces of champion gear under your belt.
But that's going to be up to you and how
much you're struggling. I imagine fewer
players will be in the normal modes,
though, so you might find it difficult
to kill the rares or complete objectives
if you're all by yourself on a lower
geared character. I guess we'll have to
wait and see where the player base
decides to congregate.
Another easy source of gear comes from
the new zone world bosses. On heroic
world tier, the world bosses can drop
hero warbound gear. And this works just
like the other world bosses in midnight.
So, you aren't guaranteed to get an item
your current class can use, but you are
guaranteed a piece of gear for your
first kill on your account for the week.
So, you will get a piece of hero gear.
It just might not be the one you want.
The good news though is that you can
trade it over to an alt. So at least
you're gearing up one of your characters
with that free piece of hero gear. If
you only kill the world boss on heroic
mode, you'll also get a piece of
warbound champion gear at the same time,
which is a nice bonus. The world boss
world quest rewards you with over 200
field accolades on heroic difficulty,
and the quest to kill the world boss
rewards another 75, which is a huge
chunk to put towards your next piece of
gear.
Now, before you get your world boss
kills in, make sure you pick up the
knocking off the top quest from Desimus.
This quest requires you to kill the
world boss in four different weeks to
obtain a special quest item, and it
rewards you with a myth track piece of
gear. You can choose between a cloak, a
belt, and some braces. So, that's one
slot that you can fill more or less for
free for just keeping up with this quest
and getting your world boss kills in
each week. I would encourage you to look
at the stats on each piece of gear from
the quest and compare it with what you
would get if you put these pieces of
gear into the catalyst. You can easily
check your catalyst results by using an
add-on like keystone loot. Find the item
with the best stats for your class or
spec and then lock that item in. Then
you can avoid that gear slot when
obtaining gear from other sources to
make things even more efficient.
You can take all of your hard-earned
field accolades and spend them to get
more champion gear or preferably some
hero gear. You can buy champion gear for
specific gear slots for 100 field
accolades each, which can be worth it if
you're still struggling to stay alive in
the heroic world tier. But personally, I
would recommend saving up for the hero
gear boxes instead. You can spend 500
field accolades for a random piece of
hero gear or 750 if you want to target a
specific gear slot. I would probably get
the one random box to start off with if
you don't have any hero gear yet. That's
going to save you 250 accolades for the
most part, but after that, I would
probably stick to the gear slot boxes.
When these hero boxes were first
introduced, I bought three random boxes
just to test things out, and I got three
weapons in a row. So, I don't really
trust the odds there. I'd rather kill a
few more rares and know that I'm going
to get an upgrade. When you're buying
your hero gear, remember to avoid buying
pieces of gear for the same slot that
your Myth Track quest gear is going to
be in. So, if you reckon you're going to
pick up the belt from that quest in 4
weeks time, don't buy a belt from this
vendor. You don't want to waste 750
field accolades if you can avoid it.
So, that's how you can easily kick
yourself out in full hero gear just from
these new zones, but you can actually go
a bit higher thanks to the new
difficulty option for ritual sites. Tier
six ritual sites reward you with five
myth crests per run, and you can run as
many as you want, giving solo content
players an endlessly farmable source of
myth crests for the first time. We also
don't have any crest caps to worry about
at this point. So, you can just run
these over and over again to farm as
many myth crests as you want or need.
Every 80 myth crests you get. So, for
every 16 tier six ritual sites you can
sit through, you can spend your crests
to upgrade a piece of radiant spark
crafted gear to item level 285. That's
the highest item level you can get as a
solo content player right now. The
current spot count is about 16, which
means you can craft eight pieces of
gear. If you don't include your tier set
pieces or trinkets, that means you can
cover most of your gear slots with
crafted gear right now. You also won't
have to craft a piece of gear for the
slot that your myth track gear quest
will fill in. So, that's one more slot
you don't have to worry about. Now, if
you haven't made your piece of gear yet,
whenever you go to craft it, or whenever
you make your crafting order in Silver
Moon, just add the crests in down at the
bottom of the crafting page. If you get
a rank five craft, it will be guaranteed
to be item level 285 if you're using
myth crests. If you've already made a
piece of gear, you can recraft it using
your own professions or by making a
recrafting order of the crafting order
clerks. It won't require as many
materials, and you can slot the
mythrests in the same way.
Because we're mostly interested in the
myth crest rewards from the end of your
ritual site run, you want to focus on
completing them as quickly as possible.
To that end, I would use these six
challenges, which means turning off
malevolent boons and embers and enabling
pretty much everything else. Those
specific challenges slow you down
significantly as you have to clear the
obelisks and empowered monsters before
you can take on the mini bosses and
bosses. With those challenges disabled,
you can just focus on completing the
objectives, which is just killing the
mini bosses and bosses, I would ignore
absolutely everything else, including
treasures and rares. Getting the lower
shrine buffs is still probably worth it,
though. Now, because ritual sites are
still going to be rewarding you with
field accolades, it's probably worth
moving on to tier six ritual sites
before you are fully equipped in hero
gear. Not only are you going to be
replacing some of those pieces with 285
crafted gear as you earn enough myth
crests, but if you wait until you've
already bought a full set of hero gear,
you won't really have anything to buy
with the field accolades that you're
getting from farming ritual sites. So, I
would probably head on over to ritual
sites when you're in about half hero
gear and just test the waters. If you
need some more gear to make tier six a
bit easier, head back to the new zones
to keep farming there instead.
This is definitely more of a steady burn
kind of grind rather than getting it all
done at once gearing option. With a bit
of practice, you can probably clear a
tier six ritual site in 10 minutes or
less if you're being efficient. I
managed to get my runs down to 7 minutes
on my 277 Paladin. But with you needing
16 ritual sites per piece of gear you
want to craft, it is still going to take
you quite a while.
It's also worth noting that if you don't
have all of your radiant sparks and
you're behind on this specific currency
in your currency tab, it's probably a
good idea to include some bountiful
delve runs to the list. Not only will
they help change things up and give you
a bit of a different scenery from ritual
sites, but you'll still be earning myth
crests. You can still get 20 myth crests
per week from running four tier 11
bountiful delves, and they have a good
chance to drop a radiant spark if you
missed a few weekly quests. I'm not sure
if radiant sparks can drop from ritual
sites or from completing content in the
new zones. I personally haven't seen
any, so keep your eyes peeled for any
extra sparks. If they can drop from the
new content, fantastic. If they don't,
your main option as a solo content
player will be delves. And then don't
forget, you can use the ascendant void
cores from the nil hammer to boost the
item level of maxed out crafted hero or
myth track weapons and trinkets. So, you
can bump up the item level of your hero
trinkets as well as your crafted weapon
for a little bit of extra damage. And
that gets you an item level 295 weapon,
which is very shiny indeed. Now, if you
want to get your hands on some better
gear a bit faster, your only real option
would be jumping into mythic plus
dungeons and working your way up to plus
10 keystones. They're not too difficult.
It just requires a bit of learning and a
bit of patience, but that will give you
access to guaranteed Myth Track gear by
using your void core bonus roles, as
well as faster hero gear acquisition and
faster Myth crest farming. If you manage
to get a full hero gear set from the new
zones, but really don't want to do the
ritual site farming, mythic plus keys
should be very easy with your shiny new
hero gear. But if you want to stick to
just solo player content, the new zones
and tier six ritual sites are where
you'll be spending most of your time.
But that's how you can get up to item
level 285 or higher as a solo content
player in patch 1207. So that's it for
this video. What are you going to be
