## Summary

In this video, the creator hires Coach Frosty, a controversial Apex Legends coach, to help improve his aim and settings. The session involves detailed adjustments to DPI, sensitivity, and in-game settings, but the creator ultimately concludes that the coaching was ineffective and based on flawed logic.

### Key Points

- **Introduction and Setup** [00:03] — The creator, a coach himself, reaches out to Coach Frosty, the number two Apex coach, to get coached and see if Frosty can help him improve.
- **Initial Settings Inquiry** [02:21] — Frosty asks about the creator's PC specs, field of view (115), resolution (1680x1050), DPI (1600), in-game sensitivity (0.6), ADS multiplier (0.9 for 1x), and Windows sensitivity (6 out of 20).
- **DPI Adjustment** [05:40] — Frosty instructs the creator to lower his DPI from 1600 to 800 and change Windows sensitivity from 6 to 10 out of 20, claiming it will reduce PC stress and improve input registration.
- **Aim Testing** [08:09] — Frosty has the creator perform hip fire tests between targets and 180-degree flicks to assess his aim, leading to sensitivity adjustments from 1.18 to 1.21.
- **Sensitivity Philosophy** [11:14] — Frosty explains that increasing sensitivity is like progressive overload in bodybuilding: as you get better, you need to increase sensitivity to continue improving.
- **Tracking Instability** [14:15] — The creator demonstrates his tracking instability in KovaaK's, and Frosty attributes it to overshooting and suggests slowing down slightly.
- **Post-Session Critique** [17:29] — The creator criticizes the session, noting that Frosty didn't ask about mouse skates or mousepad, couldn't interpret CM/360, and made changes that seemed counterproductive.

### Conclusion

The session ultimately provided little value, as the creator felt the coaching was based on flawed logic and missed key aspects of aim mechanics.

## Transcript

And over that time, I've coached men, women, children, adults, pros, and even noobs. But because I've spent so long focusing on coaching others, I've kind of fallen off myself. So today, I reached out not to the number one Apex
coach, because that title's already taken, but the number two Apex coach. Today, we are getting coached by the one and only coach Frosty, the number one most controversial coach in the scene right now. Can Frosty help me, or is he
>> So then, why am I changing my side? >> That's really the question of today's video. With all that being said, let's hop on into today's video. Hope you guys enjoy. I Oh, it took a lot of me to record this one, man. Oh, can you hear
>> Boom. There we go. Awesome. Sweet. I'm doing great. You ready to do this? >> I am I'm so ready to do this. Me and Chad are ecstatic for this. >> Oh, yeah, 100%. So, I was talking to my
troll you and like go undercover and stuff. I'm not going to do that. I chance. I'm just here to see what you're doing. I'mma let you coach me. I'mma let you run me through your whole thing. And if I have questions, I'll ask questions
the same thing. So, yeah, I just want to take you through like a normal customer >> Let's do it. Let's do it. >> Let's just leave the drama at the door because I'm not a drama guy. >> You miss speak a lot over on Twitter, my
off. >> You did a really good job at that. So, essentially, what I remember you saying is if you don't have a degree in education, you shouldn't be a coach. >> I will admit I phrased that in the worst
these people who the DM for boost people. We're talking about become like they're like, well, I can teach it. And they were like, 16 thing to get a good to they played 27 times. And I'm like, you don't understand. I'm not talking
got to He can have a teaching degree >> god, bro. >> Like you guys should go if you like don't like my coaching, try out everyone else. Like go find a coach for you. You know, I never hate on
>> Set up. What are you actually running today? So, let's start with that, yeah. would just walk me through like everything. So, I play mouse and of the time. >> Then, I need some info about your PC.
>> Then, I need some info about your PC. >> Oh, okay. What So, my my PC my PC has um >> Mhm. My my PC has >> ask you here. >> Okay, okay, sure, sure, sure. >> Yeah, I was going to ask you some info
here. Just give me 1 second. What we need first is uh what field of view are >> Um I play 115. >> Gotcha. And then uh what is your FPS? resolution? >> I play 16 by 10. So, I play 1680 by
1050. Why does my PC Why do my PC specs matter? >> I got a Razer Viper V3 Pro. >> That's one of my favorites, too. I got >> Nice, nice. >> All right, do you use multiple stages or
>> Like your different DPI stages. Did you turn them off? >> But when you go into the Razer Synapse app, you turned all the other stages >> I mean, I play on one DPI, but I don't change it. I'm not like in game lifting
up my mouse changing my DPI. >> Um but And then what's your in-game >> Um I play .6. >> .6. And then what about your ADS multiplier? >> I play .9 1x, [music] and then each per
>> Awesome. >> He's asked me all this stuff. Is he on? >> And uh your Windows sensitivity? play 1600 DPI. >> And make sure enhance pointer
>> Think there's any good reason to play with that on mouse and keyboard. Uh it's >> Is it six out of 11? >> It's uh six out of 20. more for your movement? >> I play 42 cm.
>> 42 cm? Okay, so what is that like? >> 42 cm is medium sense. I use my >> So, do you have any issues right now with your mouse sense that stands out to >> Uh I feel unstable sometimes. So, like when I'm tracking people and I swing up
and I'm up close, sometimes my aim isn't always perfectly smooth and um I stutter >> Like the micro adjustments. Okay, sweet. >> No, no, no, not micro adjustments. I I I don't have a problem tracking. >> Can you explain that stutter then, what
when I'm tracking someone left and right, sometimes instead of tracking perfectly smooth, I'll I'll stutter. I'll move like
to lag behind like it's not moving when you want to move it. >> Uh yeah, like it's like my like my hand just stops moving smooth. It just like >> No, chat, this this is a mechanical issue that I have because I tense my
wrist. So, we're going to see how he changes my settings to fix something dude, he actually might cure cancer through my screen. >> Um I don't have Synapse installed. >> The one that edits your Viper?
time if you can to install it. >> Why why would I have it installed on my your mouse or do you use a different software? >> Um I mean, I I would need Razer Synapse, yeah, but you I I don't think I have it
>> Um >> I'm going to say it should have been >> Doesn't it mess up your PC performance, though? >> Yeah, but it runs in your background, so it slows your it's extra background
>> I'm not trying to min-max that. It's want to uninstall, you can uninstall it afterwards. >> Okay, okay. >> So, over down there to your sensitivity
stages. So, are you watching on stream? >> No, I can't watch you. Banned me on all >> Oh, yeah, I you got modded by the for that one comment. Um you should be >> You can just share your screen, right? Like
share. So, I'm going to pull up the Razer Synapse here. Um on your mouse, right here, right? You just click your mouse and right over on your uh your DPI. All I want you to do, if you can, turn that down to 800, and then I
sensitivity after that, and we're going to change that six up to uh 10 out of >> Okay. Oh, man, this is a really slow. >> Now, you shouldn't really be feeling any calibrated to where it's actually it's not going to be doing any
you don't like it stressing out your PC, this is going to help it register your >> What? I'm not trying to min-max that. you? >> Um yeah, it's like insanely slow. Like I
in this session already, and all we've done is change my DPI? 1.2? >> Yeah. Oh, this one. How does that feel?
>> Okay, cool. Real quick, go ahead and try that tracking thing. I just want to see thing, if it was just the DPI holding you back. Like it wasn't moving. feels it feels the same.
feel identical. I just want to the stuttering. Do you feel the stuttering >> No, it's a physical thing. >> Okay, cool. Let's go ahead and actually everything should still be running the same. All we did is just even it out to
talk about like stressing out your computer? The same idea is what was little bit. >> I'm not trying to min-max that. my DPI? >> We So, we just cut it in half. So, you
were at 1,600, and you were uh multiplying it by 0.5 with your Windows through that whole filter right there, we removed the filter by changing it you had it. >> Yeah, I mean I I understand the math.
it. What I'm asking is why did like why did we lower it? Like like how is how is doing it. >> [screaming] >> Yeah, like I said that that was that was
never the issue. It was just It was just that my hand stops. Like my hand seizes seizing. >> Okay, I got you. I just like to go all the motions. Now we're going to see what's up with your aim. So let's turn
off off the dummies and can you grab yourself an R9 and fully deck it out? >> Okay. Now can you grab also an R301? >> Yeah. with a 2x. So what we're going to do first is I want to check out your actual
going to stand on this front platform, the little white one up here. And we're going to do is with your hip fire, only hip fire, what you're going to do is one bullet each between these three targets. Kind of just like that, right?
to do that. >> No, not at all. I have an insanely loose grip right now. >> Okay, keep going.
sense to 1.18? >> Okay. >> Now keep in mind I'm not even I'm not even on like the original sense that I play. Like this already like I lowering my DPI it already feels choppy.
left side of it. >> Um it kind of feels I'm not going to lie um I don't want to say like it's a stutter cuz it's not like I'm like almost feels it feels like there's like a delay in my aim.
Now keep in mind he lowered my DPI so there's going to be more latency because there's not getting as many inputs from my mouse. So he he actually gave me more >> You work out a lot, right? >> Uh yeah. I mean I don't want to flex or
>> You're good. I've seen your [ __ ] No, you're good. You I know you I've seen a [ __ ] buff. I got you, bro. >> yeah. Yeah, dude. day-to-day right now. Okay, with that 1.19, can you go ahead and try that hip
fire thing one more time? >> Okay. >> Your 180. Sorry, this is what I call this. Uh, this is the 180 area. We're different exercise. What we're going to do here is instead of shooting between
by looking in the middle this target and try to do a 180 controlled right onto just stop right in the center. You're just doing a linear 180. >> Okay. >> Oh, you don't have to shoot. You just
start in the middle and snap to me. Go back to 1.2. I'm going to see the difference here cuz 1.9 you're landing way short. Just an inch. Go 1.21. feel? Does that feel like you're landing a little bit more center? Not ending
>> Um, I guess, yeah. It feels like I'm flicking my mouse all the way across my you able to do that controlled? Imagine an octane, right? Sliding directly that feel comfortable that you can do that?
comfortable, I guess. I definitely have to Oh, my bad. I >> Let's go ahead and head on over here to the back to the hip fire. I want you to try that 1.1 uh 1.21 again one more time on this.
your ADS. You're literally just getting stronger and faster dish. All you got to everything just because you're too used to it. It's like that weak weight, you always getting better. Your hand-eye coordination is getting a little faster.
>> So, then why am I changing my sens? >> There's nothing really wrong with your >> So, what you're what you're saying is that my aim is so good that I need I I >> Yeah, it's kind of like your PR from last week is no longer your PR. Like at
1.2, you're already too comfortable with it. You're ready to go a little faster. >> Are you messing with me? >> No. Now, I want to check your ADS though cuz when we did that 121, it's going to adjust this a little bit. So, can you go
using an R9 I'm using the wrong gun for this. But, with your R301 yeah with a 2x. One bullet each between the same two targets.
and reduce your mouse sense to 1.2? Your if I want to see the same thing I was seeing a second ago.
you your sense is locked in, bro. All is you just got to step it up a notch cuz >> All right. All right. I can I can screw with the extra point one. You know what I mean? I just think you're I think the only reason you're
like you're ready to go faster. >> Okay, what what about my DPI? it so it's it's the same as it was before. It's just filtering differently. how like Razer stresses out your PC?
>> Making your computer filter through that point six is another step that will point six is another step that will actually stress out your PC. >> Yeah, I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but like like my i9, you know, 14
14900K KF, right? Water cooled. Yeah, I don't I don't think it's going to make >> Now, but here is something to take into consideration is how much we adjusted it by is going to be increased as well. So, when you switch it back, you know how
right now we're on 1.21 it's like we go back to that point six, adjusting it to point six one is going to be like now to like 1.25. >> Okay.
scale, it's not going to be able to adjust as much. It's kind of like per four you know the four one linear bleed through? It's the reason same reason you you can adjust it by point one rather than point three at a time.
>> Is point 01% change in my sensitivity really going to make it like that much >> No. >> No, it's not good. I'll I'll I'll keep trust your instincts. >> Most customers when they come in, they
common thing with PCs what they do is they set up their DPI at default, then sense, and then they don't even mess with their ADS. They leave it at 1.0. separating that aim. You already have it separated, too. And it which we expect,
also a coach, so. But, that's the that's it. After that, we get them set up and they're going to feel the difference. >> So, you never you never really answered was getting unstable like where my aim was becoming unstable.
>> So, I'll um hop into Kovak's here and I'll show you I'll show you exactly what I mean. So, like like my aim when I'm tracking, see how it kind of like like like tracking like how it kind of like like it's not like
>> Yeah. >> Like you have to lead it ahead, stop, >> Yeah, kind of kind of like how like I just don't stay in the middle of the and then the front and then like the back and the front. Like like it's
unstable. >> What are the settings on this Kovak's? sign that you're just a little too fast with your tracking. Does it change exactly what we set up for Apex or >> Yeah, it's it's literally the it's
as my hip fire. It's the exact same. >> Go back to 1.2. >> Oh, hold on. I I play on I play on 360. >> That's what you do the Kovak's thing. Okay, I got you. 16 sensitivity, 40, 1600 DPI, cuz we messed it up now. It's
>> So, what would what would I do to fix what would I do to fix like that issue? Like that instability, that lack of consistent and smoothness. hair. Just a smidge. You're overshooting cuz whenever you go to readjust like
why you're waiting for the target to catch up. So, you want to slow down just a smidge. Which also that 1600 is going to be off from what we set you cuz >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. You lowered my DPI by a lot.
>> Bro, dude, this guy dude, he's literally saying, "Oh, you don't have literal [ __ ] aimbot? You got to you got to lower your sensitivity by by 0.1. You don't have aimbot? Increase it by 0.2." >> You yourself are a unique person, right?
hand eye coordination works, it's unique. You know, everybody's like it's glasses, their own shoe size. You and your muscle memory and the way your brain works is unique. >> So, all we're doing is so those slight
>> All right, I'm about to start I'm about to like start like laying in. it those little itty bits to how District likes to play. point at what point are you going to have to work on other things other than
>> We'll set up some time where me and you can actually run some games and go over settings aside and go over actual game play type stuff. The stuff that I'm >> Okay, got it. >> I bet you that's honestly where we had
like a lot of our tips kind of meld and mesh. Like the angles thing, dude, I me. Like treat it like a urinal. I'm already on this angle, go find another. the urinal to the other guy and you know, before we hopped into our session.
urinal. >> Like come on, man. >> Right? >> All right, yeah. [laughter] >> No, so we'll do one of those sessions here later on. If you don't really feel
again, 1.2 is comfortable for you. You look pretty locked in. And in that customer, that's where I would offer them like, "Dude, I you already locked worth your time." And that's usually where I offer them that. But I've never
>> you're the one I say you're the first situation I've had in where where you >> You know what I mean? >> Yeah, yeah. aren't coached by District, you know? >> Yeah, I got you. [laughter]
your session, man. Yeah, I got to let you go. Thanks for coming through though >> GG, brother. >> Ciao. I'm not going to lie. How in the >> Ciao. I'm not going to lie. How in the world did it take 1 hour
world did it take 1 hour to change my settings from 0.6 to 0.61 to my sensitivity and go, that's it. That's it, bro. You're [ __ ] locked in now, man. What the [ __ ] I hopped into the session, the first thing I said was,
I have a little bit of a inconsistency with my smooth tracking. I practice [ __ ] suck at it. The very first thing that he does is he goes into my settings, he lowers my DPI, he gives me extra delay, and because now my DPI is
cut in half, it's not picking up on all of my movements, right? And it's making my aim feel even more shaky. And then I said, well, you know what, my aim Okay, you know what the issue is? Dude, you change your sense by 0.01. Whatever,
into Kovak's later. And then I'm like, okay, so there, look at my aim, here it is. Oh, dude, if you actually just undo what I did for you, that 0.01 by the way, your aim is going to be locked in. Oh my god, that's another thing, I
totally forgot about that. This guy told me to increase my sensitivity because I sensitivity. Dude, he actually said, aiming is a lot like bodybuilding. When sensitivity, the only way to get better is by increasing your sensitivity. It's
when you get nice and jacked and you have a [ __ ] boulder shoulders, you getting bigger cuz playing on a lower sense isn't going to do anything. anything. So, when you get really good at shooting people and then it stops
aimbot, increase your settings some more. Another thing too, he's he's trying to walk me through my hit fire sense, right? Keep in mind, we're both on PC, we're both in Discord, we both are streaming, and we both have the
capabilities to share our screens. Instead of him going, okay, I'm going to actually watch your POV." And because I can watch your POV, I can see exactly everything that you're up to. He goes, "Go stand right there and I'm going to
way back over here." Oh. Yeah. You missed the You missed the fire, by the way. Lower your sense, it's too fast. There you go. You see that next target you hit? It was dead center. Spot on. Told you. He's not even looking
hopped in, he's like, "Okay, I need to figure out what gear you're on. What PC "What mouse do you have?" He didn't ask me what skates I'm playing. He didn't ask me what mouse pad I have. Dude, I'm playing with a control pad and control
something that I've never played on before. Maybe that's why my aim is would not have seen him ask. He also couldn't figure out what CM 360 was. How are you an Apex coach or even a settings coach, a mouse and keyboard coach, not
going to be able to tell what is arm based, wrist and finger based, or blending based off of CM 360? Dude, that's like one of the easiest things. 30 CM below is is fingertips, is fast, right? Around the 40 area is a medium
sense, that's like blending. And then 45 and up and 50 up is slow, it's like the easiest thing to [ __ ] remember. that people are even like paying him to [ __ ] man. I literally had a client come to me and he said, "Yeah, dude, I
hired another Apex coach and he he told me that like my settings were all off Um I've been trying to play with them, but you know, I'm not really noticing why I booked you." I'm like, "Okay, cool. Let's figure out like what's going
settings were literally literally 10 ask him who coached him. I said, "You got coached by Frosty." He said, "Yes." There we go. Instantly knew. It's genuinely sad that he is larping as a
genuinely sad that he is larping as a coach and he's actually genuinely under the impression that he is coaching people. Dude, I would never want to hurt someone's bag. Make your Make your bread. I would never want to put someone
down. I wish everybody could be nice. I wish everybody could be could be doing people, but at the same time it's like when a literally every single thing that when a literally every single thing that you say is just completely chopped. Like
what what are you even supposed to do at this point? I'm genuinely impressed. I
