[00:02] the answer. He tells me it's four, right? And the next tier, he kind of what does the plus sign mean? And this final tier, you kind of just you kind of like give the actual like the bigger picture, right? Why does 2 [music] + 2 [00:17] >> Otherwise, you're not going to improve. And this is like an issue that I personally Hey guys, it's Kempeki here and I'm a Valorant coach who's worked with thousands of Valorant players to help them rank up and improve. Like I wouldn't say like you got any worse, you [01:39] >> Um but there's definitely some things that yeah, we could still definitely work on, right? One thing that I really want to emphasize, it's it's really about being able to define your success [01:51] not on like outcomes, but on the actual inputs, the actual work that you put in day in and day out. It's measuring your your success based off of like did I actually follow through with what I said I was going to do that's actually going [02:05] to help me get closer to my goals versus did I actually win or lose a game, you know? Did I like like did I just completely throw the game or you know, did I whiff a crucial shot? Like it's like going to the gym, too. Like it's [02:18] I'm going to start like going super hard pack in like a month." When you've like never stepped foot in a gym before. You know, like it takes time. All right. You like to go full util on [02:32] All right. You like to go full util on pistol. You can hear your dog out first. Okay, so do you know the difference between like when you want to flash >> What's Sky? >> No. So, your team comp is kind of [02:46] Yeah. >> Like Reyna. >> Yeah, yeah. Reyna, Phoenix, and and so you're going to be playing a lot more >> Yeah. >> Um so I think dogging is like not a [03:01] worst idea. Um typically you want to you want to flash first if you're going to you're just going to go fast if you're if um you know, you have like a Reyna, you have a Jett, you have a Neon. Um you're going to instantly flash and run [03:14] out. I personally don't like using the dog like super early on um you're on split for a couple reasons. The moment like you it you go out of [clears throat] of times like enemies could be playing right after, they could [03:29] on site, elbow, screens, [music] you know, even like ramps to our left. So, little info, right? >> Not bad. >> You got a nade dog? [03:42] >> Yeah, we got insta shot. >> Yeah, I got insta shot. So, like in this sense like I would say it's kind of worth because you got this nade out of her kit, right? Like if you can actually bait out these key pieces [03:57] of util that can like destroy your team, then I think it is actually worth it to use the dog, right? But then otherwise, just flash, you know? Cuz then it'll get them off the angle. Like if anyone tries to play play close anyway, like they're [04:10] blinded, and then your team can swing out. And then you have you have your dog to help your team like scale up onto site, or you could flash a little bit >> And then go off your team. Right. >> Okay, this is like a little bit scary [04:24] >> Okay, this is like a little bit scary how you're scaling on site, but Okay, that worked out. Do you know why I said it was like a little bit scary? >> Cuz I was just jumping around. >> Yeah, like a little bit. I [04:36] I think like here, like you you didn't really clear this, and yeah, I you want to ideally slice the pie here. This cuz you're low, too. And I know "Okay, maybe like Chamber can maybe be behind," but like I mean, you still have [04:52] heal. Your flash can still come up, so You don't want to just free kill >> Cuz I cuz I watched like the NRG bits, [music] If someone's going on site, there's always a dude just jumping. [05:06] Just jumping, jumping, jumping. >> I think you have to keep in mind like they're very coordinated. They practice a ton, right? With their team. >> And they know how to have proper spacing to capitalize and pre each other out. [05:19] >> And this case, like you're putting a lot of hope and faith into randoms that you just met. You don't know how they how they play, too. So here, uh >> Yeah. >> Uh that is inside, buddy. Good calm. [05:35] >> So as soon as your Chamber's getting shot at, I would have just like whipped out my gun and and try to swing the guy that was like looking at your Chamber. Cuz now you're kind of in a position after he TP's out where you're isolated [05:47] even trade you. >> Yeah. [music] >> Um so instead like you you just want to pull aggro for him or just at this point Otherwise now like you're in a really rough spot. Cuz right now like this this [06:02] Sage is like 100% dead. Cuz you think to her or it was a Chamber. >> Yeah. she's pinched, right? >> Yeah. [06:14] >> So the you just flash left, you take the fight with Sage. Even if he die, it's a fight with Sage. Even if he die, it's a very easy trade for for Chamber. Um but yeah, you don't you don't want to die like like this. [06:26] You don't buy anything here. Just buy something, you know? Or even just buy few more pieces of util. Yeah, it's not bad. I think um in ranked people get way too impatient. So if you >> Outlaw is such a [06:40] >> It is, but like who do you think here is going to Outlaw? >> The Reyna. >> Yeah, sure. You know, any of these guys could be Outlawing, but so what, you know? So what if they're like playing [06:53] Outlaw? We have literally three flashes on our team. And also the Skye like like Reyna combo is like disgusting. You know why? and then they get flashed. >> shoot the Reyna flash and and if they if [07:07] they look at if they look at the Reyna blind to shoot it, you're going to blind them. And if they don't, you know, if they don't shoot shoot it, then they're still blind by by your flash or they have to turn from it. It's really really [07:20] Like um flashes, right? >> Yeah. >> So then as an initiator too, it's very important that you figure out how you're going to like space out your utility to [07:36] get the maximum value out of it. So what I mean by that is like if we go to Val Plant and we're on split, if we just use like one flash here and another flash like here or something, then we don't have anything for back site, right? So [07:50] then maybe like we use a dog to cover that or whatever. Like you're basically little bits like this >> Mhm. >> and thinking about like okay, how can I use my util to clear and take space of [08:05] each of these like parts of the site. So like even for or like B site, you know, know. Like how are you going to how are you going to clear these areas? Sometimes your teammates will also have abilities that are better than your kit [08:18] at clearing these specific parts of the site, too. So if you can kind of like especially when we're thinking about like really easy ways to combo util, that's how you can kind of process it [08:31] and think about it. So like like very simple, you know, we have Phoenix flash. We we also have Reyna flash. It's also important to check what abilities people are buying by pressing alt at the start of round. Um but just based off of like [08:44] >> A single Reyna flash? >> Single Reyna flash and then how are we going to take this like yellow zone, like this like intermediate zone? >> I think after we walk up to the B main choke, Phoenix flashes close and after [08:59] close. >> Do you see any potential pitfalls to >> There's back site. They can just take a timing peek. If there's a jett or Reyna, they can just swing outside of like the stairs of default. I mean, [09:13] need be. >> Mhm. cuz it's like it's going to be really hard if cuz Sky dog can realistically uh I [09:26] >> Yeah. >> right? On to on to the site. So it's probably not ideal. And actually most of the time you never see people actually dogging out of B main. For for that exact reason cuz it doesn't [09:40] clear anything. Like the moment it goes out like people just shoot it. And you Sova drone. >> Yeah, it's not. Cuz it's it's it's like >> Yeah. >> And it breaks super easy. And then after [09:54] behind the wall or something. You're like dogging from here. So you're not even out with your team and you can't even trade them. So instead like what is the most efficient cost-effective way to make sure like we could just nuke this [10:06] >> We just Sky Dog from the start. >> Yeah, you could Sky Dog from the start >> Yeah. >> Just throw one flash around this corner close angle, right? >> Yeah. [10:19] and then you throw another flash out here with a Reyna leer and that's like >> Mhm. >> Opponents like can like the if they're if they're playing rafter, they can no longer peak this angle, right? So now [10:35] all you have to do is just pay attention in front of the smoke which direction they're looking back site, then you look right, you know? If they're looking right, then you look you look back site or default. And then you scale up and [10:48] Phoenix, can you just flash default afterwards like once we're on site?" Cuz now that'll flash any any like CT players coming out or it might even >> How would you work mid then in this situation? Like if you guys are just [11:01] trying to like do a B split slash like let's say you just want like mid control decide like are we going to go A or B or A? Like like what would you do here? in sewers and he walks up and flashes the corner? [11:14] >> That's pretty good. Yeah, he could even flash over this box. Yeah, that's pretty >> Yeah. And that gets everything, right? >> Yeah, technically. Yeah, that's an >> Is there a right answer here? >> No, there technically isn't. But that's [11:26] what I want you to get at. There's so many different ways to come me up with an answer, but it's all about how are we actually solving it step by step in the most efficient way possible, right? So, if if Phoenix is the one that's going to [11:41] flash mid and and like help you guys take this like mid space, then where does the remaining pieces of utility go to keep things as efficient as possible? right? So, so let's just let's just say in this scenario it is Phoenix that [11:56] flashes over this box. You know, you guys kind of like walk up. He flashes >> Yeah. >> Then, what do you guys want to do? Do guys want to go vents? Like it kind of depends on the situation. Often times [12:10] though, um like in high high elo, like this is like people people smoke mail a lot cuz this adds a ton of pressure on the defenders cuz now like if [music] they don't have a anyone playing vents, um [12:22] like rotate over. >> and then you you're you're you're forced to have heaven players like >> Uh it's actually very good very good smoke. So, now it's like who's who's [12:35] going to now like help you guys take vents control, you know? Cuz once you start making noise here and get this control, you can sometimes even hear like like defenders rotating, you know? And that that gives you a lot of [12:47] information to see if you want to end A or B. Personally, I would argue that if we were to use this Phoenix flash, um they're still and you guys like throw this smoke, right? Um you guys don't have like the dash or anything, right? [13:02] To actually close this gap quickly. So, that actually puts a bit of a risk in terms of someone like being able to swing out of the smoke as you guys are scaling up. Um and if you were to just like dry swing this, there's still a [13:17] good chance that like even if you get the trade, like a death could have been avoided, you know? Like you guys could technically have a advantage if you were >> Mhm. >> Cuz if someone's playing here and now [13:31] have a teammate holding this cross. I You throw this one flash, this guy's going to get scared and fall down here. >> Fall down rope. So like, it's just about securing the space, right? And if you [13:45] and if you can like get a pick with it, like that's great, you know? But we got this space now. And so all we all we needed was like three pieces of util. Now we got like this full mid control. And your bird like comes back up anyway, [13:57] >> Mhm. >> With the recent changes again. And then afterwards, you can now like get up here probably, right? And then and then you know? >> Mhm. [14:09] like your Reyna and like other like maybe like Clover or whoever like get out here, you know? And then now now you have like and maybe like Reyna can also like flash out with the dog so that they don't easily break the dog. [14:23] >> So say like, hey Reyna, can you can you flash with a dog? And then you guys also >> Okay. >> And then that's like yeah, like we kind of layered everything and it was like very simple. So now, okay? If we were to [14:36] put everything we learned together from B site and mid, like how do we apply that on A with three flashes? >> Well, um let's assume there's no insta smoke. If there is an insta smoke, I think Loki helps us more than it [14:49] flash. >> Mhm. take, I think >> We'll pop flash out of this. >> I think we have we should do like we we can pop flash out yeah, we pop flash out [15:01] of the smoke, all of us face it together, but then somebody has to be of us together, someone's facing ramps, maybe I have Phoenix like silent hop up ramps, take that [music] ramp control, and then execute site we just do the [15:15] >> Yeah, I think that's actually perfect. You guys scale up and you guys throw the throw the bind like this, right? He's got this perfect 90° angle. He could, you know, take take ramps all by himself if he wanted to, right? And then you [15:29] know, double flash available. Um if you're worried about the raise need, you could even dog first, right? From >> From this cubby. Yeah, bait it out. And then after the nade you you pop flash [15:42] >> I see one really crucial like to this kind of strat here. There's still a lot >> Right. [music] >> question mark, right? So, if you foresee [15:54] this happening, and again, this is why like it's important to see like how enemies are positioning themselves like around the around the site and stuff like that cuz then it it will help you adapt and change this kind of like [16:07] >> Cuz if um if we do this, yeah, like there's there's all this empty space and we have no more util left to to clear elbow and stuff like that. So, what do you think like is an alternative alternative [16:21] solution to this? >> Originally, we use the sky flash to get >> Yeah. >> So, if we're using the first sky flash to get out of this actual like, you know, A site chokehold, then what do we [16:34] here? >> A phoenix flash. >> Yeah. >> Just throw a pop flash, you know? It could even be a Reyna blind instead. Like, just either one, you know? And [16:46] guys yeah, cuz once you guys are out here, you know, like one of you can clear back here or if you see someone getting flashed and running running away, [16:59] you know, you just throw you you just throw a throw a flash like right here and they're blind. And then and then your team can your your Reyna or whatever duelist can scale, you know, under rafter. [17:12] the heaven angle now, and you guys just pinch the sky together and and he's pinch the sky together and and he's dead.
