## Summary

YouTube announced three new updates in July: improved product timestamp controls, a redesigned mobile shopping shelf to reduce viewer disruption, and expanded AI-enhanced comment reply suggestions for creators. These features aim to balance creator monetization with viewer experience.

### Key Points

- **New Creator Controls for Timestamps** [00:13] — YouTube launched a drag-and-drop tool for timestamps, along with limitations like a 62-second maximum duration, giving creators more control over their content.
- **Product Banner Disruption Feedback** [00:42] — Product banners were timed with video content, but viewers found them disruptive. YouTube heard this feedback and decided to improve the mobile experience.
- **Mobile Shelf Redesign for Product Timestamps** [00:56] — Instead of a banner, product timestamps on mobile portrait mode will now appear as an expandable shelf below the video, minimizing disruption.
- **Shelf Availability and Behavior** [01:08] — The new shelf is available for mobile videos and shows the most recent product until the next timestamp appears.
- **AI Comment Reply Suggestions Expansion** [01:23] — YouTube expanded AI-enhanced comment reply suggestions to more creators on Studio mobile and web, making it easier to engage with viewers. Suggestions are optional, editable, and support multiple languages.

### Conclusion

YouTube continues to iterate on creator tools and viewer experience, with these updates addressing common pain points around product placement and comment engagement.
