[00:00] Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers Show.&nbsp; I'm your host, Paul. In this video,&nbsp;&nbsp; we're breaking down House of the Dragon. The episode 5 trailer for season 3&nbsp; is now out online, and in this video,&nbsp;&nbsp;
[00:14] we're going to be breaking it all down.&nbsp; However, there is a caveat. The trailer&nbsp;&nbsp; I do wonder if this is in fact a trailer showing&nbsp; all the events for the rest of the season instead&nbsp;&nbsp;
[00:26] of just the next episode because it looks like&nbsp; a lot happens if it's just next week. Anyway,&nbsp;&nbsp; let's do that now. My patience has its bounds.&nbsp; Have I not shown you mercy? This is finished.
[00:51] Rea has the throne. It is she who rules now. We&nbsp; should have burned them when we had the chance.&nbsp;&nbsp; The cunning mind can resist the most savage&nbsp; of beasts. Rene has defiled our great house,&nbsp;&nbsp;
[01:07] diminished the iron throne. She is no queen. We have endured much. And though we languish,&nbsp;&nbsp; we will not lose half. We will&nbsp; join them glorious in battle.
[01:28] And they will sing songs of it forward. Stand your ground. Okay. So, in the past, the teasers have kind&nbsp; of served as this linear thing where you can&nbsp;&nbsp;
[01:44] kind of follow the narrative based on the order&nbsp; on how stuff is shown. However, this kind of&nbsp;&nbsp; comes across a bit more like a montage. Again, if&nbsp; this is definitely the latter half of the season,&nbsp;&nbsp; then I think that makes more sense with how&nbsp; it's presented. The tone is very grim though&nbsp;&nbsp;
[01:58] and completely relentless, and we get quick&nbsp; cuts of the characters in the war. It all&nbsp;&nbsp; builds towards a battle between the blacks&nbsp; and greens with the winter wolves as well.&nbsp;&nbsp; we really see what the civil war is leading to&nbsp; and the Greens ultimately being on the backfoot.&nbsp;&nbsp;
[02:11] That's how we kick things off with Kristen on his&nbsp; knees inside a dragon footprint on the ground. He&nbsp;&nbsp; then looks up to the sky realizing that death&nbsp; could come at any moment. We then see Reneer&nbsp;&nbsp; at her small council saying her patience has its&nbsp; bounds and we see a burned camp out in the forest.&nbsp;&nbsp;
[02:25] It's possible that this is Kristen and the gangs&nbsp; and then that got basically torn up by a dragon.&nbsp;&nbsp; The dragon left the footprint and then the next&nbsp; day Kristen is all covered in ash looking up at&nbsp;&nbsp; the sky. We then see Allison playing with her&nbsp; Faith of the Seven necklace, possibly wondering&nbsp;&nbsp;
[02:40] if the gods will even save her. This is mirrored&nbsp; by Agon playing with what I believe is a knife and&nbsp;&nbsp; he's possibly thinking of killing his bullies.&nbsp; Now, I do think that instead of using a knife,&nbsp;&nbsp; he'll rise up with Sunfire and then come flaming&nbsp; down upon them as he reveals who he is. To him,&nbsp;&nbsp;
[02:54] Sunfire was still alive and the Targaryenss and&nbsp; dragons were said to have a psychic link. So,&nbsp;&nbsp; I feel like Sunfire will sense his riders in&nbsp; danger and then come to his rescue. Either way,&nbsp;&nbsp; that takes us to the weeks ahead bit. And for&nbsp; this breakdown, I kind of want to group the&nbsp;&nbsp;
[03:08] shots together rather than just doing them in&nbsp; the order that they appear. I think that'll be&nbsp;&nbsp; the best way to do the narrative and kind of&nbsp; tie each of the points together since it jumps&nbsp;&nbsp; back and forth. Now, the first big thing I want to&nbsp; talk about is Rene saying, "This is finished." I&nbsp;&nbsp;
[03:22] actually think that this might be her discovering&nbsp; that Sheepstealer and Raina were behind the death&nbsp;&nbsp; of Jace. Dragons appear throughout the teaser,&nbsp; including shots of Raina at the veil. Rene also&nbsp;&nbsp; appears to be in Grand War Get Up here and out&nbsp; in the field. So, I do think this might be off&nbsp;&nbsp;
[03:36] the back of a dragon fight. The next shot&nbsp; of Caraxis and Damon, could potentially tie&nbsp;&nbsp; into this as well with him deciding to defend&nbsp; his daughter. In the book, Damon and Nettles,&nbsp;&nbsp; who Rea is based upon, they were basically&nbsp; getting it on H. And Rene found out and wanted&nbsp;&nbsp;
[03:50] her head. So he kind of ends up moving away from&nbsp; Reneer and going off and doing his own thing,&nbsp;&nbsp; which I think could be happening here. If you&nbsp; look at the big shot of Raina, you can also see&nbsp;&nbsp; two flying creatures in the background. It could&nbsp; be birds or it could be Caraxis and Cirax with&nbsp;&nbsp;
[04:05] them possibly fighting while flying towards her.&nbsp; That doesn't happen in the book though. So yeah,&nbsp;&nbsp; again, might just be some birds. Her leadership&nbsp; is in a bit of a crisis, though, as though she&nbsp;&nbsp; sits on the Iron Throne. She's got no money. Her&nbsp; enemies are still alive. The religions don't like&nbsp;&nbsp;
[04:20] her. The people probably won't like her soon. The&nbsp; house lords don't like her. And there's even some&nbsp;&nbsp; internal betrayals within her house. In the book,&nbsp; there's a lot of potential fallout from Tumbleton.&nbsp;&nbsp; And I think that's what will likely happen in&nbsp; episode 5 and then build towards them storming&nbsp;&nbsp;
[04:35] it. We also do get a theory time debunked here&nbsp; and see that Aean is all good and gravy. I did&nbsp;&nbsp; say in our video that I thought he might end&nbsp; up being mutated. But yeah, it looks like he's&nbsp;&nbsp; normal and recovering on a on the road to health.&nbsp; He snuggles up to Alice throughout the teaser and&nbsp;&nbsp;
[04:50] in the book the pair even have a child. Not much&nbsp; is known of this character and they don't really&nbsp;&nbsp; follow up on things, but it is possible that this&nbsp; could end up being Brendan Rivers. It's clear she&nbsp;&nbsp; wants him for something else though as she lied&nbsp; about the character being there. So, I do think&nbsp;&nbsp;
[05:02] they might have a couple of nights. Aean will go&nbsp; through his um Luigi's Mansion trip that you have&nbsp;&nbsp; whenever you go to Harrenhal and then they'll fall&nbsp; in love and he'll probably not really enter the&nbsp;&nbsp; conflict again until later down the line. As for&nbsp; Tumbleton, we see that elf and Hugh have joined&nbsp;&nbsp;
[05:17] together outside the gates. In case you don't&nbsp; know, they end up switching to the Greens. And I&nbsp;&nbsp; think this might come down to two big things that&nbsp; happened in the last episode. Personally, I think&nbsp;&nbsp; Cat's brother's death might even be blamed on&nbsp; Reneer. as we know that from Cat's eyes. Orman's&nbsp;&nbsp;
[05:31] a really nice guy that always hits the thumbs up.&nbsp; So, I think she'll get the blame for that. If they&nbsp;&nbsp; attack the city and Cat's inside, Hugh will be&nbsp; like, "What the [&nbsp;__&nbsp;] going on? I didn't sign up&nbsp;&nbsp; for this. That's my wife." Um, so yeah, I do think&nbsp; these will all be reasons why he ends up turning&nbsp;&nbsp;
[05:46] coat. As for Alf, like they're probably going to&nbsp; get him some beer or something and and that'll be&nbsp;&nbsp; enough for him. Darren is also looking out of a&nbsp; window in front of the green forces while Orund&nbsp;&nbsp; is strategizing away. Orman in the show has been&nbsp; painted as a very cunning enemy who's really good&nbsp;&nbsp;
[06:02] at scheming. The book portrays him as capable&nbsp; but ultimately a doomed commander. However,&nbsp;&nbsp; the show has him more as an antagonist scheming&nbsp; around supplanting Darren on the throne and&nbsp;&nbsp; ousting not only Rene but also Darren's&nbsp; brothers. In the book, Darren is a brave&nbsp;&nbsp;
[06:16] young prince who fights honorably with Tesarian,&nbsp; whereas the show paints him out as being very,&nbsp;&nbsp; very reluctant. Orman is kind of the devil&nbsp; on his shoulder who wants to influence him as&nbsp;&nbsp; much as he can. In the book, Orman's army marches&nbsp; towards Tumbleton, and that comes after winning a&nbsp;&nbsp;
[06:31] battle at Honeywine. However, I did wonder if they&nbsp; might have flipped the order, and from the clips,&nbsp;&nbsp; I did start to think, could they be doing this&nbsp; battle after? I'm not sure exactly what battle&nbsp;&nbsp; is shown in the teaser, but it would make sense&nbsp; to have that in the season at some point. It's&nbsp;&nbsp;
[06:46] the bloodiest onland battle in the entire war,&nbsp; and I was quite surprised that they just skipped&nbsp;&nbsp; it completely. I think they might have that&nbsp; go down, though, and potentially Hugh and Ulf&nbsp;&nbsp; are now fighting for the Greens. Reneira might&nbsp; even then have to accept Rainor and Sheepsteeler&nbsp;&nbsp;
[06:59] because they'd have a dragon on their side&nbsp; that could possibly even the playing fields,&nbsp;&nbsp; but this is a massive fight and the Winter Wolves&nbsp; are going to play a big part in it as well. I love&nbsp;&nbsp; the way we see them lace throughout the teaser&nbsp; and yeah, just great seeing that Stark banner&nbsp;&nbsp;
[07:13] as per usual. We see lots of Rivlin banners as&nbsp; well at the 36 second mark and it shows that all&nbsp;&nbsp; the houses are taking part conflict. Kristen also&nbsp; appears there too and it seems like this might be&nbsp;&nbsp; what the whole season's building towards. There's&nbsp; also Allan marching out from King's Landing, and I&nbsp;&nbsp;
[07:28] think this will probably be a big fight in episode&nbsp; seven or eight. Now, looking at the structure as&nbsp;&nbsp; well, it might even be them taking Tumbleton. If&nbsp; you look at the 21 second mark, you can see the&nbsp;&nbsp; kinds of towers they have here. Jumping to the 55&nbsp; second mark, there is those sort of structures to&nbsp;&nbsp;
[07:42] the side of the arches. We also end the teaser&nbsp; with Orman and Armor inside the gates with Damon&nbsp;&nbsp; attacking someone inside what appears to be the&nbsp; walls as well. So perhaps this is the sacking of&nbsp;&nbsp; the town. May also bring in the Riverlands battles&nbsp; as well. and have it all culminate here along with&nbsp;&nbsp;
[07:56] the events that have spun out from the reach.&nbsp; It's difficult to tell as the editing is very&nbsp;&nbsp; fast-paced and designed to avoid major spoilers&nbsp; while confirming that the second half of season 3&nbsp;&nbsp; will deliver the large-scale battles and emotional&nbsp; gut punches that fans of course want. Though this&nbsp;&nbsp;
[08:12] is labeled as the episode 5 trailer, I think&nbsp; episode 5 probably serves as a bridge between&nbsp;&nbsp; Tumbleton and what we're seeing here. Or yeah,&nbsp; they they could just say s it and go all out.&nbsp;&nbsp; Who gives a [&nbsp;__&nbsp;] about the budget? But yeah, the&nbsp; trailer positions what's coming as an allout war&nbsp;&nbsp;
[08:29] and yeah, they maybe even finish with the smaller&nbsp; political entries. Anyway, there's definitely the&nbsp;&nbsp; feeling of escalation and building towards&nbsp; the visceral large-scale conflicts that fans&nbsp;&nbsp; expect and one from the dance of the dragons,&nbsp; Reneer's frustration, Damon's family reckoning,&nbsp;&nbsp;
[08:45] Orman's scheming, Aean's return, Kristen fighting&nbsp; out in fields and stuff, everything going down.&nbsp;&nbsp; There's a lot of things that are going to happen&nbsp; in the rest of the season. Helena, I haven't even&nbsp;&nbsp;
[08:57] touched upon her, but yeah, Helena and Egon,&nbsp; there's lots of things going on. Maybe Laris&nbsp;&nbsp; even asking to kiss that guy's foot. Who knows?&nbsp; But the Tumbleton fallout will be a big testing&nbsp;&nbsp; time for the characters, and it will launch the&nbsp; show towards even darker territory. But yeah,&nbsp;&nbsp;
