## Transcript

YouTube just released a bunch of brand
new upgrades that make it way easier to
go viral on YouTube shorts right now
because they just added new placements
where YouTube shorts are going to be
showing up and they added a new feature
that you need to make sure that you're
turning on every single time that you go
to upload a short. But by the end of
this video, you're going to know all
these different changes and all the
things that you need to do to go viral
on YouTube Shorts right now, even if you
don't have any subscribers. So, change
number one is that YouTube just
released, and this is actually a Google
release, they released new places where
YouTube Shorts could show up. And it's
incredibly important that you're making
sure one that your content showing up
here and two that you begin to optimize
your content so it does show up here.
And what I'm talking about is now if you
come over to Google and let's say that
we type in something like YouTube shorts
algorithm. What you're going to notice
is that if we come under shorts videos
right here, you are now going to see a
bunch of YouTube shorts. And this is
really what I wanted to show you and
what I wanted to emphasize because if we
look under here, we could see that I
show up number one. If I scroll down a
little bit, we could see that I don't
show up again. So, this is actually a
huge missed opportunity for me because
if we look at this guy right here, Dross
video, he's got this video, this video,
this video, this video, this video. He's
literally showing in four of the eight
placements here. And this is actually
what you should be doing with your
content. And you can upload multiple
videos on the same topic to ensure that
this happens and skyrocket the odds that
your content actually gets clicked on.
And now, in the past, this was really
difficult to do. You had to upload
multiple pieces of content. You had to
edit multiple pieces of content. and you
had to film multiple pieces of content
and it really would have only been
possible if you had a team helping you
out. But there's now a new AI tool that
makes doing this incredibly easy. Now,
that tool that I'm talking about is
going to be Nexus Clips right here
because once you sign up for Nexus
Clips, you're going to see video to
clips right here. And you could see that
you could actually go through and you
can create clips from any video that you
want. In fact, you could hook up your
YouTube channel, you could hook up a
Twitch account, you could just upload
videos if you wanted to. And this is
going to allow you to clip up your long
form content and your live. So, what
this is going to allow you to do is get
multiple shorts on the same topic so
that you can upload them and take
advantage of that new placement. So,
we're going to come over here. We're
going to actually go through uploaded.
What I'm going to do is I'm going to
upload this video right here. This video
is about the YouTube algorithm. So, what
I'm going to be doing right here is I'm
actually going to be creating a bunch of
shorts. So, we create clips by analyzing
the audio. So, it's essential that your
video has voice. Got it. My video does
have voice. We need to come through
here. We're going to select English.
We're going to select create clips right
here. Now, this is going to go through
and this is actually going to create
these clips right here and we can see
that they'll be ready in just a few
minutes. And then once they are ready,
I'm going to show you exactly what it
looks like. And what we're going to do
is we're going to take all the clips
from this. We're going to be able to
upload it. So, I have more things
showing up under YouTube shorts
algorithm right here. Okay. So, now that
this has gone through, we can now click
on this right here and we could see all
of these different clips here. And
what's great about this is one, this
actually goes through and scores them
all with virality index. two, this makes
all these different clips different
lengths. So, we'll actually be able to
upload different length content when we
upload all of these different clips. And
if we wanted to generate new clips, we
could click right here. Otherwise, we
could go through and actually create
clips. For example, I'm going to create
this one because it's the 95. We're
going to click on create clip right
here. Then, we could download it
directly from here. Or we could come
into edit right here. This will actually
let us edit our clip. And just like
that, we have this here where we can
actually go through and edit. We could
go through and we could add in a hook
right here if we wanted to. We could add
in custom subtitles. And if we come
under framing right here, we could
change the framing of this however we
want, like full screen, or we could even
do like a miniature screen. In fact,
this is what a lot of people do when
they're showing off something that's
actually on screen. They have this right
here, and then they might have a mini
version of themselves so that they could
show in the corner. And you can actually
come over here and adjust all this,
which makes for a great editing
experience and allows you to very
quickly without any editing experience,
without hiring new people, go through
and actually get a bunch of clips you
can then upload to rank for this new
placement. Now, if you want to try Nexus
Clips for yourself, to make going viral
on YouTube shorts easy, I would strongly
suggest you go to the pin comment below
and get signed up today. This tool has
made it so much easier for me to be able
to get out a ton of shorts from my long
form content and my lives and it's going
to do the same for you. But that was
just change number one. Change number
two is that YouTube just released a
brand new update and it's a new setting
that you need to make sure that you're
turning on every single time you go to
upload something on YouTube shorts. And
if you don't do this, it's going to
drastically decrease the odds that you
end up getting reach because it's going
to do three things. One, it's going to
make YouTube a lot harder. two,
understand whether or not your video is
about the right topic or even a topic
that your audience is interested in.
Secondly, this is actually going to
decrease the amount of watch time that
you get on your videos because if you
don't add this in, it's going to
decrease that. And three, this is
actually going to restrict the audience
that's going to be available to see your
content if you do not turn this on. So,
please trying to emphasize it right now.
I cannot emphasize it enough. This next
feature is incredibly important and it
literally just came out in the last 24
hours. Okay. So, in order to actually
see that new setting, you're going to
want to come over here and we are going
to upload a YouTube short for fun here.
So, I'm going to click on select files
right here. I'm going to grab just a
random YouTube short that I have. This
one right here. We could see it's
notifying me that I am uploading a
short. I'm going to come over here. I'm
going to click no. It's not made for
kids just so we could get to the next
screen. None of the above just so we
could get to the next screen. And the
new feature that they have is showing up
under video elements right here. You are
going to see subtitles. So, subtitles
are going to allow you to reach a
broader audience by adding subtitles to
your video. And YouTube just added the
ability for you to actually be able to
do this inside of here, which is quite
incredible. Now, there's three different
ways that you could add these in. One,
you could upload a file. Two, you could
use autosync. Three, you could actually
go through and type them in manually.
Now, what I would strongly suggest that
you do is I would use autosync so that
it goes through and actually does this
automatically. But if you needed to, you
could type these in manually for each of
these settings. So if I actually come
over here, I could type all these in.
You can see that I could type it in
here. I could type it in here. And then
we actually see it showing up on the
screen right here. Now, you need to make
sure that you're doing this. I cannot
emphasize this enough. If you are not
doing this on YouTube, what's going to
end up happening is you're not actually
going to get the benefit from it. If
you're doing this a different way, it's
not actually going to increase the
amount of views that you get. But we
could see right here that this actually
does. And we could just come through
here and you could add all of these in.
Now, like I was saying, if you go
through and do this manually, this is
going to take you an incredibly long
time to do. So, I would strongly suggest
just using that autosync feature and
it'll automatically do it for you. Now,
in addition to that new setting when you
go to upload content on YouTube Shorts,
there's also new settings inside of your
account settings. And you need to make
sure that you're going in and you're
turning these on because YouTube doesn't
automatically turn these on. So, let's
go through exactly how to do that.
Because again, if you don't turn on
these features, your content is going to
be uploaded in lowquality, both from a
video perspective and from an audio
perspective. And I can't believe that
YouTube doesn't just turn this on for
everybody. In fact, I don't know why
they haven't. In addition to that,
there's another feature that you need to
make sure that you're turning on that's
actually going to allow your audience to
vote for your content to get more views.
And this is the number one way, by far
the number one way for small channels
just like yours to go viral. Because if
your content can get upvoted, it's going
to increase the odds that you go viral.
And guess what? Your audience only gets
five votes a week and they could use all
five of those votes on your content, but
only if you have this feature turned on.
Now, in order to access those account
settings that you need to make sure that
you're turning on, you want to come into
settings right here. We're then going to
come under channel right here and we're
going to see that if we scroll down
under advanced settings. This is where
you're actually going to see them. So
the first setting you want to make sure
is turned on. No, not made for kids.
This is automatically then going to
apply this to your content. I would
strongly suggest that you do that so you
don't have to go through and do it each
time. The only time that you should ever
put yes is if you were specifically
uploading children's content. In order
to show you an example of this, we could
pull this up right here. This is going
to be like ABC's content, right? So if
we type in ABC's content, we could see
like stuff like this. If you were
uploading literally children's content,
put yes. Otherwise, you should always
have no. In addition to that, if we come
down here, channel insight sharing, I
would strongly suggest that you have
this turned off. This is going to share
your information with advertisers,
brands, and thirdparty platforms that
could potentially increase your
earnings, but then you're giving up all
of your private data. So I wouldn't
recommend doing that. In addition to
that, if we scroll down here, we should
turn all these on. Automatic dubbing.
Make sure this is turned on. Make sure
manual is turned on. When we come down
here, clips, make sure this is turned
on. Video quality enhancements, make
sure these are turned on. Hype right
here, make sure this is turned on. Third
party tracking, I would turn that off.
Again, it's going to give people access
to your data. I would just strongly
suggest that you don't do that. And
really, those big new features I was
talking about were these video quality
enhancements right here, this hype right
here, these clips right here, this
dubbing right here. And if we scroll up,
turning off this stuff. Now again, if
you look at your settings, it's probably
going to be set up the wrong way. And
these are new things. So even if you've
checked your settings, like in the last
few weeks, I go check again just to make
sure you have these correct. Then that
last thing that we need to talk about is
all the additional placements that
YouTube Shorts can show up in. Because
if we look at 2023, we look at 2024, if
we look at 2025, the far majority of
views on YouTube Shorts was coming from
the Shorts feed. In fact, almost 100% of
views were coming from the Shorts feed,
but now only 30% of views come from the
Shorts feed. The other 70% of views are
going to be coming from two other
locations. The first one is going to be
browse features, aka YouTube shorts
showing up on people's homepages. And
then the second is going to be in the
YouTube search results. And no, when I
say search results, I'm literally
talking about YouTube. I'm not talking
about the Google search results like I
was showing you earlier and that new
placement. Because if somebody does a
search for something on their mobile
device, odds are they're getting shown
shorts. And if they do a search on a
computer, odds are they're also going to
get shown shorts. So you need to make
sure that you're actually going through
and optimizing your content to show in
these placements. There are three things
you want to do correctly. Okay. So here
are those settings that really, really
matter when you're uploading a YouTube
short and you want to be able to rank
for search. So if we look at this video
right here, 2.4 million views. If we
actually come into the analytics of
this, we could see 75% of the traffic
I'm getting is from YouTube search.
There's three reasons for that. The
first reason for that is if we come over
here to what this thumbnail looks like.
I'm doing something very specific here.
I am pointing to a setting and I put
turn on these settings to grow faster.
Now, what this is is this is a custom
thumbnail. I added that text in and I
grabbed this screen grab from part of
the video, but it wasn't actually part
of the video. What I did was I took this
screen grab and I put it in like the
last few seconds of the video, really
like the last millisecond of the video
so that I could actually grab it and
then actually be able to create a really
good thumbnail from that. And you need
to make sure that you're doing the same
exact thing with your content because if
you're not adding in a custom thumbnail,
you're not going to stand out when
people go to search for things. As a
result, people aren't going to click on
your video. And like I said, this is
really, really important for browse
features right here and for YouTube
search, which we could see accounts for
about 85% of the views that this post is
getting. So, if I didn't have those
things on, this video would have done
fine, but it wouldn't have gone this
viral. In addition to that, if we come
into the details, there are three things
I'm doing inside of here. If we see
right here, we see YouTube settings
right here, which is incredibly
important because we see that in the
title, we see that in the description,
it actually shows in the description
twice. And then if we actually scroll
down to the tags of this video, we're
going to see that it shows up multiple
times. So I have my thumbnail on here.
It's correct. My title, my description,
my tags are correct. In addition to
that, if I scroll down just a little bit
more, we're going to see that I have the
correct category here. Education. Most
creators mess up one of these things.
I'm calling it three things, but it's
really five things that you need to make
sure that you're doing. If you do these
five things and make good content, guess
what? It's going to increase the odds
that you rank for search and for browse
features also. Now, if you enjoyed this
video and you want to learn exactly how
the YouTube algorithm works right now
for 2026, specifically for YouTube
shorts, I would strongly suggest that
you check out this video right here that
walks you through exactly how the
algorithm works, how you can take
advantage of it, and everything else
that you need to know to grow fast right
now on YouTube.
