## Summary

In this live stream office hours session, Erik Voss discusses the Russo brothers' cryptic Instagram post hinting at an Avengers: Doomsday trailer, analyzes new Spider-Man: Brand New Day details, and shares final thoughts on The Boys season finale. He also answers fan questions about X-Men '97, House of the Dragon, and the future of the MCU.

### Key Points

- **Russo Brothers' Cryptic Post** [06:12] — The Russo brothers posted a green image with 'Something's brewing,' tagging Marvel Studios, Avengers, Robert Downey Jr., AGBO Films, and South by Southwest London. Fans decoded the hex code to July 18, 2026, a Saturday before Comic-Con, but Erik thinks the trailer might drop earlier, possibly June 17th.
- **Spider-Man Brand New Day Trailer Details** [27:52] — Empire Magazine photos show Peter Parker fixing Bruce Banner's inhibitor wrist device, and a toy leak reveals anti-gamma webbing, suggesting a fight with the Hulk. A second trailer is expected next week.
- **Tom Holland's Creative Input** [29:36] — Tom Holland suggested 'spider puberty' for evolving powers, and he wants to mentor Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales in future films. Kevin Feige described the movie as a classic Spider-Man story in a sad small apartment.
- **The Boys Final Season Analysis** [32:46] — Erik discusses the final season of The Boys, noting that while the finale tied up storylines, many fans wanted more 'scorched earth' destruction from Homelander. He emphasizes that it's okay to like or dislike the season without being labeled toxic.
- **Spider Noir Review** [41:11] — Erik recommends watching Spider Noir in color because the villains' power sets are not visible in black and white. He also criticizes the binge-drop format, preferring weekly releases for better cultural conversation.
- **Dr. Doom Backstory Theory** [24:50] — Erik shares his Dr. Doom backstory theory: a genius scientist and wizard from Latveria who tried to save his universe from incursion but had to make an unthinkable sacrifice. He also discusses the importance of chess imagery for Doom.
- **X-Men '97 Season 2 Speculation** [13:03] — Erik answers questions about X-Men '97 season 2, including the appearance of a Kang variant (Rama-Tut) and potential time travel storylines. He also discusses the possibility of a Hellfire Club story in season 3.
- **Channel Coverage Strategy** [48:50] — Erik explains the channel's strategy for covering shows, aiming for two shows at a time to avoid burnout. Upcoming coverage includes House of the Dragon, X-Men '97, Lanterns, and Vision Quest.

Hello, hello, hello. Welcome back to New
Rockstars. I'm Eric Voss and it is
Friday, May 29th, 2026 and we're doing a
live stream office hours here on the New
Rockstars channel. This is something
that I try to do on Fridays, once a
month, uh, every four weeks or so. I'm
here to answer your questions. is really
the biggest question a lot of you guys
have been asking is what the hell are
the Russo brothers doing by once again
posting these insane social media
things. Um what do they mean by this? We
found the green. We're going to talk
about that on the stream today. We're
going to talk about let's see what else
we have on the docket here. Some
Spider-Man brand new day related news.
Um if you guys have questions about
X-Men 97 or House of the Dragon, I'll be
here to answer those as well. Hit me up
in the chat uh with any questions you
have from the week of news. Um I want to
talk about the boys and some final
thoughts we might all have on that
season. Um I want to thank you all so
much for joining us on the stream. Um
all of you in the chat. Let's see who do
we have here. Um oh someone from the
breakroom channel is joining us. Uh Alex
Reyes, good to see you. Uh CS or C.
Schultz. Hi. Hi. Hi. Um,
Green, hi Zeke. Um, hi. Hello. Hi,
everybody. Thank you again for joining
us for this live stream. I'm I'm happy
to do this to try to answer any
questions, to do office hours, to do an
AMA, whatever questions you have. Um,
uh, say your name, please. Oh, hi Zah
Huttle. I don't know who you are. Um,
I'm sorry you're tired, that Chief's
Cape fan. If you guys um really really
really need me to answer your question,
super chat's the way to do it. I'll I'll
definitely answer every super chat that
someone sends because, you know, you're
you're spending us you're spending the
money for that. So, I'll I'll honor
that. But, um, but I'll just also try to
answer whatever questions as I can as we
go. Uh, let's start by talking about
this this Instagram post from the Russo
brothers. If you can't see, my face here
is covering the caption where they said,
"Something's brewing." [ __ ] Films
commented on the Russo brothers personal
Instagram account with this post that
they posted today on Friday, May 27th or
May 29th, 2026. Uh there are five tags
that they added to this photo uh from
Marvel Studios, Avengers, Robert Downey
Jr. [ __ ] Films, and South by Southwest
London. Um, how's the audio sounding,
Brian?
>> Yeah, South by Southwest London is
something that the Rooster Brothers are
going to be at in London all next week,
uh, from Monday through Thursday. I
think they're going to be doing like 15
minutes on Thursday. So, some people are
like, "Oh, is that going to be when we
get the Doomsday trailer?" Uh, I don't
know. A lot of people are looking at
this particular shade of green as well,
and they're doing something that's
called driving the hex code. Hex code is
a very specific dig digital color shade
of something that like you put in this
code and it's what programs a computer
screen to bring up this particular shade
of green. And I believe the hex code was
something like 71826
lowercase a which I might be wrong.
There's some other people who are
getting different uh hex codes out of
that. But from that they're saying oh
maybe they're saying that that hex code
tells us the release date for the
trailer. Uh July 18th, 2026 would be the
Saturday before San Diego Comic- Con. We
were pretty sure Marvel Studios will be
with um will be there at San Diego
Comic- Con with the Russoa brothers and
Robert Downey Jr., but that's going to
be the following weekend. So, it'd be
weird that they would release a trailer
on a Saturday at all. Uh unless it was
Comic-Con weekend. Um so, maybe it's the
Thursday before that. Some people are
saying that we'll get a trailer shown
next week. Next week would be awesome.
We'd all be grateful for that. Marvel
Studios, if you want to just get this on
the freaking internet so we can all talk
about it together, we wouldn't mind one
bit. So maybe it'll be next Thursday. We
do think there will be a Spider-Man
brand new day, second trailer that comes
to the internet next week. Uh Monday or
Tuesday or something like that. Uh Sony
is doing these um these articles with
with Empire that you may have seen. And
normally those article releases um
coincide with a second trailer.
sometimes the first trailer. So, I do
think we'll get a Spider-Man trailer
next week. If they want to drop a
Spider-Man trailer and a Doomsday
trailer in the same week, we we'll be
eating good. We'll be covering it with
live streams with in-depth Easter egg
breakdowns here on the New Rockstars
channel. Uh I I'm confident that we'll
get a Spider-Man trailer next week. I'm
not confident that we'll get a Doomsday
trailer. I think it'll be something like
maybe the week of June 17th because
that's going to be right before Toy
Story 5. And I do think they're going to
want to put that in front uh that
trailer playing in front of um
screenings of Toy Story 5 because Toy
Story 5 is going to be Disney's highest
grossing release of the year. I'm
including Doomsday in that. I think Toy
Story 5 is going to make well over a
billion dollars, maybe even approaching
$2 billion. Like they're projected to
make over two $200 million in their
domestic in their opening weekend.
That's like major Avengers movie numbers
for for Woody and Buzz. So, Disney's
going to want to put a trailer for their
other huge movie that comes at the end
of the year in front of this summer
movie. I'm confident of that. I'm going
to answer some super chats here. Um,
this person, thank you for this super
chat asking Armor Wars win. Armor Wars
never. I think they've canceled that.
Uh, Ryan Hullman saying, "My birthday is
the same as Kevin Feige is June 2nd."
So, I think either the second Spider-Man
trailer or pro possibly the Doomsday
trailer will release as his Marvel's
gift to us. I don't think Kevin Feige
cares about celebrating his own birthday
that way. After you cross 30, you stop
caring about your own birthday,
especially if you're a studio head.
However, Tom Holland's birthday, I
think, is June 1st. So, that would be
Monday, maybe as a birthday gift to Tom
Holland. That's when they drop the
Spider-Man trailer. Uh, but hey, happy
early birthday to you, Ryland Holman,
and thank you for your super chat.
Um, so, uh, other people asking, could
they drop it with Father's Day? Uh,
Hannah, I think they're going to drop
the Doomsday trailer regardless of
Father's Day. I think the Vision Quest
trailer could drop around Father's Day
because I think that's going to be a
show about being a daddy. Um, even
though Parenthood seems to be an
important theme to Avengers Doomsday, we
keep seeing all this news about like
kids being cast for Avengers Doomsday.
We think uh there was this actress who
whose parents put it on her public
profile this week, this young English
actress who I think I think could be
cast as like Dr. Doom's daughter and
then she was just her name was young
girl on her uh on her resume. So that
could mean anything but I think like a
variant of Morgan Stark/ Cynthia von
Doom or something like that who would be
the daughter's name and maybe he loses
her and that's what freaks him out. Uh,
another super chat from Oh My Lore
saying, "I'm worried that Spider-Man:
Brand New Day will require Daredevil
homework because of Punisher in the
Hand. I haven't seen any of the shows.
What do you think?" I think you should
watch those shows. You have time, my
man. Um, I don't think it will require
that much Daredevil homework. I honestly
think even Punisher um, One Last Kill
didn't require Punisher homework. You
can just watch a New Rockstars video.
We'll have a homework video. We'll have
you covered. I do think though you
should spend some time to watch those
shows. Um or at least watch, you know,
Punisher One Last Kill, watch Daredevil
Born Again. Uh you can watch during the
Disney era. You won't you won't run a
foul of anything. Psycho Sweetheart
asking, "I was wondering when y'all uh
when y'all will talk about the Russo's
post." Yeah. Yeah. I got a lot of lot of
uh tags today like where's the new
Rockstars? Where's the green thumbnail
for this? So, you know, we're going to
be all over this. Um, we would have done
a more proper video about this, but on
Monday, we're going to have Jessica's
breakdown of the A24 Back Rooms movie.
Um, that we're really excited for this
weekend. And we might have Spider-Man
news. We might have a trailer that day.
So, I'm like, I should just do a live
stream to just kind of talk about it
that way. Um, JCU Eagle asking, "Do you
think Marvel would tease anything in
Marvel Rivals since they are doing their
own Road to Doomsday event?" Yeah, they
took the name. Everyone's using the
terminology of Road to Doomsday. Um,
I don't know. That's a really good
question because new CEO of Disney, Josh
Tomorrow, is like all about um like
integration into the gaming and the the
direct to consumer platforms and the
merch and and toys and all of that stuff
and and Disneyland parks. So, um I I I
won't be surprised if we get some like
references to Doom and Latvia and other
certain things. I mean, at least Marvel
Rivals is going to want to make stuff
that like is jumping on that excitement
train.
Um,
let's see. Trevor asking, "Do we think
X-Men 97 season 2 will time travel back
to the OG X-Men TV shows in the '90s?
Love you guys. Thanks for giving me a
safe space." Hey, thank you, Trevor. Um,
yeah, you know, that is kind of a this
is going to be a big time travel season.
Gina did an an amazing job breaking down
this trailer uh for us on the New
Rockstar channel. you should go watch
that video. She's going to be covering
X-Men 97 for us. Um, but yeah, talking
about like Apocalypse saying, "I'm going
to strike them when they're at their
most vulnerable, the 1990s." So, yeah,
it's not going to be it's not going to
surprise me at all. But we have to
remember that like the X-Men we're
watching right now on X-Men 97
is the X-Men in the '90s still. Like
X-Men 97 is set in 1997 and maybe 98
now, but like that's still the '9s. So,
I think that's what Apocalypse is
talking about in this line. Uh, but I do
think there could be other storylines.
Specifically, there were apocalypse
story lines that were set like in 1994
or 1995 from I think Beyond Good and
Evil. Is that the arc? I think it's a
beyond good and evil arc. Um, that uh
that Apocalypse in Sodner ties into. So,
yeah, maybe we get like, you know, him,
Marty McFly, and Back to the Future part
two style doubling back on his own time
travel related events.
Um,
P saying, "Do you think they'll finish
the Kang story with X-Men 97 as the
bigger multiverse saga integration?" You
know, wouldn't that be funny if X-Men 97
is the one Marvel title that like
acknowledges the existence of Kang?
Where's the shot? Yeah, Kang is in this
trailer. Or I think it's Kang. There's
like a pharaoh. It looks like a pharaoh
Ramatut.
>> Oh, there's a shot. Um, yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. That's kind of like the headdress
of of Ramatut as like he looks in the
Hickman hieroglyphics that we saw. Um,
you know, the he likes to expose arms.
He sends out, guns out. He's got the the
green headdress. The green and the and
the purple are kind of like the dead
giveaway for it being Ramatut. Um,
I don't know if Feige would allow
Bradbomb and would allow the team of
X-Men 97 to do the answering of the
question. I think this is going to be
implied to be a different Kang variant.
And this might even be just one shot
that they put in the trailer. I think
it's crazy that they put it in the
trailer. Um, you know, similar to when
in X-Men 97 season 1, at one point we
see like Daredevil looking up. We see
Spider-Man looking up. Uh, we see uh
there's like a Black Panther at some
point in the X-Men 90s continuity where
he just looks up at events. I think this
is just going to be another pharaoh
who's doing other [ __ ] and this is like
a Kang variant. And that might be the
most X-Men 97 does to answer the
question. Um, I honestly think there
will be a line from Scott Lang in
Avengers Doomsday that establishes like
what kind of happened with him and how
he got out of the Kang paranoia, but I
don't know if the name Kang will be
said. I think they'll refer to him
through they'll refer to the character
as some kind of like there were other
multiversal conquerors that Doom
replaced or Doom defeated or or fled
because Doom arrived. There will be
something like that and they'll refer to
them as a reference like that.
Um,
Christian unpronouncable answer the
super chat saying, "Remember to hit that
like button and subscribe. Couldn't have
said it better myself."
Um, Garnett Forner asking, "Any news on
when the Witching Hour will return?" The
Witching Hour is one of many things we
are still trying to figure out here at
New Rockstars. When we launched it,
we're like, "Yeah, we'll be able to do
this all the time." And then we quickly
found like, whoa, there's a lot on our
plate. Uh we love horror here at New
Rockstars and we love breaking down the
Easter eggs in horror and that's
something that we felt like oh well we
we've always been doing that on New
Rockstars and we wanted to cover a show
like it welcome to Derry on the New
Rockstars channel. So like we kind of
found like okay we got to we got to go
back to the to square one and figure out
exactly what we want to do with this
channel. But yeah I I want to talk with
the team because it's something that
like if it were just me doing it by
myself I would like be like yeah okay
I'll just do this. I'll do that. But
it's something that I want to be very
mindful of like Gina and Jessica's time,
their interests, the editor's time,
their interests, our budget for this
kind of thing on how much horror
analyses we can do. I've also just
gotten a lot of feedback that like when
we're doing stuff like the deep dive in
the Witching Hour, they're like, "Well,
isn't that kind of what New Rockstar I
already subscribe to New Rockstars for
that. So like it's not different enough
from what New Rockstars does. If there's
one host who looks like one of us who's
often on the New Rockstars channel also
just analyzing a film that is so New
Rockstars coded that it's hard to brand
that as like a whole different other
channel worth subscribing to. So it's
like we're experimenting a lot. We're
trying to grow in different directions,
but we very mindfully do not want to
grow in a way that like will burn us
out. So that's why we took a pro took a
pause on the wishing hour in 2026. I
think we'll have an answer by this
coming Halloween season. But yeah,
horror analyses you'll still be able to
see here on the New Rockstars channel.
Uh, a lot of the big horror releases.
So, we're doing A24's Back Rooms. We'll
be covering Resident Evil. Um, uh, I I'm
honestly strongly considering doing a
breakdown or some kind of video of
Obsession cuz that movie's awesome. So,
yeah. Uh, we'll have more details to
announce then in the coming months.
BK Vance saying, "Y'all hear you think
about the Paramount Warner Brothers
merger because I canceled that crap the
moment Cob Bear went off the air." Yeah,
I can understand wanting to to unplug
from Paramount Plus uh and not want to
support that. Yeah, Co Bear should not
have been fired. That was insane. I
think all late night hosts are just very
expensive for these networks. That
doesn't mean they need to pull the plug
from them because I think they're still
they still do a valuable service for all
these networks. Uh so I think they they
could have retoled that show. I think it
was the politics that motivated uh CBS's
and Paramount Sky Dance's decision to
fire him and to cancel that show. That
sucks. Um in terms of any there's been
no other further update about the
Paramount Warner Brothers merger since
the last time we talked about it on the
channel. It's still going through the
process. There's going to be some
regulatory steps, but I it's probably
not an if, it's a when. They're going to
be victorious. This is they are going to
acquire Warner Brothers. It's going to
happen. uh James Gunn and Peter Saffron
are going to be left in charge of DC
Studios. I don't think you have to worry
about that. Um their success or or
struggles to succeed would have been uh
scrutinized the same way as if they
still reported to David Zazlov and and
Pam and Mike. So um like part of the
acquisition by the Ellison's was to get
valuable gems and creatives like James
Gunn and Peter Saffron. And I don't
think they're looking to shake up
anything there. uh the same way that
you've seen these horrifying shakeups by
Barry Weiss over at 60 Minutes in CBS
News. Uh beyond that, I don't have any
other updates.
Uh Wingo Draw Lingo saying, "Hi, New
Rockstars. Love your covers of all
things nerdy. Keep up the fantastic
work. What story lines or characters are
you most excited to see in Doomsday? I'm
just excited to see this extreme
close-up of Hulk's ass." Uh, no. I I
think the story lines or characters most
excited to see in Doomsday, I think it's
I'm just excited to see what is Dr.
Doom's story in Doomsday. I want to see
what the Russo brothers big take is on
what his Latvian origin was. Was it
losing a daughter? Was it seeing his
universe be destroyed by an incursion?
Was it this bad deal he made with Meisto
for his mother's soul to be taken to
hell? Probably not that one. Uh but I do
think it's going to be some kind of
interesting story that Robert Downey Jr.
acts the hell out of in the first 10
minutes of the movie. That I think I'm
most curious about. Um because otherwise
there's not going to be like exact
Avengers storylines that the Russo
brothers are like, "Oh well, we got to
get this right." It's going to be a
general structural similarity to Time
Runs Out, but the Russo brothers don't
really do direct adaptations of specific
events. Like the closest they got was in
Infinity War ending it with the snap.
Kind of like how Jim Starland's Infinity
Gauntlet storyline has the big snap like
Thanos succeeds. But even that, like the
rest of Infinity War, how closely did it
match any of like Jim Starland story
line? Not that much.
Kenneth Hall asking, "Do you think we'll
get a Hellfire Club story in X-Men 97?"
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I honestly think we
do. I think all of the like X-Men 97
even in season 1 and throughout the '9s
was really playing the hits of the of
the Claremont era. So, if they just
continue doing that, I think you'll see
that in season 3. Like they they said
with the trailer coming out this week
that we'll get a um we'll get both a
season 3 and a season 4. So, I mean just
like even the the trailers like they
kind of know what they're cooking with
when they're when they're talking about
this show. A question I have for you
guys and um Berg or Brian or Zach or if
any of you guys are in the chat um maybe
put up a poll. It's coming July 1. Do
you guys think it's going to be a binge
drop? Do you think it's going to be
weekly? Like though season 1 was kind of
weekly? Actually, season one was kind of
a hybrid. We had like two episodes then
one episode then one episode then like
two episodes and they kind of did a
hybrid of both. Um is it going to be
something like your friendly
neighborhood Spider-Man which was like
three episodes, three episodes, two
episodes, three episodes? Which would
you prefer? Would you prefer a binge
drop of all the episodes on Disney Plus
on July 1st or would you prefer it
weekly? New Rockstars, we would prefer
it weekly just so we can have time and
let these episodes breathe and get more
content out of it. It's kind of more fun
for us to have it week by week. But um I
want to know you guys' thoughts. What
are your preferences?
If we could put up a poll, that'd be
great.
Um Hannah asking, "Are y'all going to be
doing anything leading up to Supergirl?"
Um, yeah, we we are I'm actually gonna
see Supergirl early. I can't give you
details of exactly when, but I'm gonna
be able to see the movie early. Um,
we're gonna do a we might do like a
review video. I don't know if we need to
do like a recap or like a we did your
homework video because like we've only
seen the character in in Superman, but
yeah, we're definitely going to be
breaking down the movie. I don't know.
like our trailer breakdowns kind of have
you covered so far and what you need to
know going into it.
Um
Trevor asking, "Do we think Insabanur
and Ramatut will have a connection with
each other?" Yeah, I think we're going
to if we're seeing him in the trailer,
it means that like in the ancient Egypt
of this show, we're going to meet both a
Ramatut and an Insabaner. And maybe
Ramatut will be the pharaoh and
Insabanur is the warrior leader who who
Ramatut outcast and and it's going to be
on Insabaner to overthrow Ramatut. Um
it's I mean who knows what this Kang
variant if he even knows he's a Kang
variant. You know Victor Timely didn't
know his multiversal destiny to become
like this Kang figure. Uh so it could be
fun to have this like kind of brain
reset. Now, Ramatut when the Fantastic 4
fight him in the early60s comics, he did
not identify as Kang, but I guess when
he's retconed later to be a variant of
Immortis and Kang the Conqueror, that's
implied to be a secret and his Sphinx
was a was a time ship um a time vehicle.
So, I don't know. Uh I think it's more
fun if What do you guys think? Do you
think it's more fun if he doesn't know
that he's a Kang or if he does? I think
it's a little bit more fun if he does
know that he's a king.
Um, Jersey asking, "Will there be
another variant of Doom?" I guess in
Doomsday, is that your question? Um,
yeah. I maybe uh I think we need to have
a different Dr. Doom than Robert Downey
Jr. at some point in the MCU. Like
Robert Downey Jr. is obviously gonna his
contract is going to end with Secret
Wars and we need to have a Dr. Doom in
the universe after that. You know, Dr.
Doom's too rich of a character. He can't
just be quickly dealt with in this
multiverse saga event. He has other
really cool storylines beyond just
building battle world.
Um, Mega Red asking, "What's my personal
Doom backstory theory? What's my gut
telling me?" I' I've I've gone through
like three different ones that I've
talked about on New Rockstars, maybe
four if you consider the the baby that
Steve Rogers holding grows up to be
Victor Von Doom, which is the dumbest of
theories. Another theory being that when
Mobius talks about the um the kid with
his brother by the Black Sea in Loki's
finale episode that was going to be
responsible for the deaths of 5,000
people and he couldn't bring himself to
prune him because himself back on the on
the sacred timeline had sons of his own.
Uh and then Ren Slayer showed up and
killed that kid. So, uh, but he said
other variants showed up and and the
what blew my mind about that is like is
he talking about other branches forming
off the sacred timeline that they'd have
on their wristwatches like oh uh oh it's
a now it's a Nexus event. Uh oh, what do
we do? Or is it other variants of Dr.
Doom who showed up? That'd be a cool
approach. Um I like the idea that he was
like the the genius Tony Stark figure of
his reality. Let's say it is the 828
universe. uh and that he was he just
came from a country called Latvveria
and he would have been like what if Tony
Stark existed in a universe with the
Fantastic 4. It just went by a different
name and existed at a different point in
history. He was an engineer. He's trying
to do everything Tony Stark tried to do.
He built a suit of armor around himself.
He wanted to build a metaphorical suit
of armor around the world. Um and unlike
Tony Stark there there was no like
Doctor Strange to cover wizardry. So
he's like I also got to learn the
discipline of the mystic arts. Uh so he
was both a genius scientist and uh a
wizard. Uh and as much as he tried to do
just this universe was on a collision
path with other universes, he his
science and magic was decades ahead of
what the world's supposed smartest man
was, Reed Richards. Uh and he never got
the credit for it. And then he found a
solution which is something horrific,
something that would require u a queen's
gamut, a sacrifice of some kind. I think
chess is going to be very important to
to Dr. Doom and the line that we hear
Robert Downey Jr. say in the Cineon
trailer of you know uh something
unthinkable an unthinkable choice is
something that he's willing to do on
behalf of his universe but the the the
part of that origin story that I can't
figure out is like why he needs the kids
like why he's interested in Franklin I
know why he's interested in Franklin
Richards but if like Mistress Love gets
taken if Tchala Jr. gets taken. If Steve
Rogers kid gets taken, I don't know why
that's important to a story. And I I'm
kind of dreading the idea of like Gore
taking the kids of the Val Hollands or
the Asgardians and Thor Love and
Thunder. I don't want to see a repeat of
that.
Um, all right. So, let's move on to uh
another detail I wanted to share with
you guys. So, Empire Magazine releases
uh a bunch of photos. This is why I
think there's going to be a Spider-Man
Brand New Day trailer that drops in the
in the next few days. Uh this is an
image of Spider-Man tinkering with
something with with Zenaia uh as MJ. If
you look closely at the screen down
here, that is Bruce Banner's inhibitor
wrist device that keeps him from turning
into the Hulk. So, Peter Parker is
straight up fixing Bruce Banner's wrist
technology. I find that to be very
interesting. Um it might connect with
this other image. Let's see. Here it is.
So, this is the Empire magazine cover.
And we saw in like a toy uh that Peter
has like anti-gamma webbing. And look at
the green glow in his web shooter.
Doesn't that look like it's like gamma
related in some way? So, like Peter's
going to have a fight with the Hulk in
this movie. I think it's going to be
awesome. I can't wait to see this movie
just for that. And I do think that we're
going to see a Hulked out a fully hulked
out Savage Hulk in the trailer that
drops next week.
Um, now people asking, "Wait a minute.
Uh, she doesn't know who Peter is."
Yeah, she doesn't know who Peter Parker
is, but there's another trailer shot
where MJ is facing a masked Peter Parker
face to face. She remembers a
Spider-Man. She remembers having some
experience with Spider-Man because
remember in the trailer, Ned is like,
"Oh yeah, he saved us. He saved us for
some event that happened." So, I think
like they remember having a Spider-Man
who saved them on Liberty Island. They
might even remember other Spider-Mans
who were there, but they just remembered
that Spider-Man as a masked figure.
Jay Glam, hey dude, thank you for your
donation.
Um, so I think this is interesting. Uh,
there was a few quotes that I compiled
from the um from this particular Empire
magazine article that I found
interesting.
Um, it was apparently Tom Holland's idea
to have his powers evolve in different
ways. he kind of joined the writer room
for it and he he called it spider
puberty and they're like not interested.
Please let's not call it that. Uh but he
called it the kernel of the idea that it
grew into the the mutations his body is
going through now. Um Tom Holland
straight up said, "Hey, we're going to
get a spider uh SpiderGwen and a Miles
Morales at some point. I want to be the
mentor figure to that person." I think
that's a great idea for a fifth
Spider-Man movie after this. And I uh
over under over under what do we call
it? Over under 20 I don't know what do
you think will be the
probably year it's going to be after
beyond the spiderverse where Marvel
Studios will even be able to mention
Miles Morales. That's the deal they have
with Sony. But Secret Wars will be after
Beyond the Spider-Verse. So maybe
there's a Miles there. And certainly in
a fifth version of this series with Tom
Holland. I think that's where you get a
Miles in there.
Over under 20%. I I don't know. I don't
think I ever understood what that meant.
Uh, another quote that's interesting
here, Kevin Feige making it very clear.
He's in a sad small apartment listening
to the police scanner. He's a classic
Spider-Man. And then Amy Pascal calling
the movie a more internal movie. The
bigness of it is emotional, not worlds
exploding. He's making it very clear
that we will not see like incursions
during the main runtime of the movie.
However, I don't know if Amy Pascal has
seen whatever postredit scene that the
Russo brothers shot that will be
attached to this movie. So, maybe we see
Incursions there. Uh, or maybe if there
is a post- credit scene with this movie,
it sets up Peter to return in Secret
Wars, not in Doomsday, because we still
don't know if Peter's going to be in
Secret Wars.
Um, random question here.
Do you guys how do you keep up with
comics for your videos or do you just
research as you go? It's kind of a bit
of both. If we know events like once we
get confirmation that Doomsday is going
to be basically Hickman's storyline of
Time Runs Out going into Secret Wars,
yeah, we'll reread that. But like we we
were already kind of familiar with that
story line because it's one of the two
really really good Avengers story lines.
Um the other one being Brian Michael
Bendis. Um but the uh for there's once
we know that like a certain movie is
going to be adapting a specific comic
for example Supergirl um uh we knew it
was going to be Tom King's woman woman
of tomorrow something that I had not
read before this movie was announced and
then yeah we read it ahead for that. So
we kind of read as we go. Uh but in
general like a lot of these Marvel
movies, DC movies like as much as they
are comic book adaptations they don't
they don't really adapt comics. Most of
the time they bring in characters and
story lines and themes and most of the
time these screenwriters are like I can
come up with a better story and they do
something better but they don't always
do something better. Um so like let's
let's talk about
uh let's talk about the boys. I want to
touch on the boys. Um I think Jessica
did an amazing job breaking down every
episode of The Boys. Like she is far
more familiar with this IP than I am.
Um, but like I can't help but feel like
uh this is like something that we have
to comment on that this final season did
not did not uh like hit with fans the
way we wanted it to. Um,
right. If you didn't like this final
season, I think that's okay. Um,
like
it it wasn't a terrible final season. I
I overall thought like the finale stuck
the landing and tied up everything. But
the reason I brought it up from that
segue is this is like a classic comic
adaptation where we know how the comics
end. Like it's not like The Walking Dead
where we don't really know fully what
the endgame of The Walking Dead is when
that show when that um show went on
season by season. Like so very early on
like Eric Krykkey made the the choice to
like change major details about Black
Noir and his relationship with
Homelander, right? So, as soon as that
decision was made, we all kind of knew,
oh, he's going to move moving in a
different direction. And I feel like it
was better. Like what he wrote for Black
Noir was was better when Black Nor was
still part of the show. Uh I liked it
better than the reveal from the comics.
Um I have to say that the the final
battle in Washington DC in the comics is
better than this finale. Uh what I what
I'm showing here is like one of the many
AI related the AI created videos that
people made trying to come up with like
a better more idealized version of the
show. And like you may have seen some of
these and I don't blame you if you've
watched some of these because people
wanted more. They wanted to see the
scorched earth. They wanted to see
Homelander win. Uh and if you are one of
those people who wanted to see some of
the scorched earth that he promised all
season, I don't blame you. Though, I got
to say this shot is dumb because the
Washington Monument is nowhere near that
close to the White House and if it
toppled over would not crush the White
House like this. Um, but like I kind of
went into the finale expecting to see
something like this of Homelander just
going apeshit on the US military or the
city of New York. Um, I wanted to see a
very, very scary Homelander. That said,
the way they ended by making him as weak
as he was, I thought was great. Now,
this person having Homelander zap a
happy face, I don't think his laser is
powerful enough to vaporize
whole square miles at a time. But like I
can't blame you if you kind of wanted
that just because it is the finale of
the show and you could still have
Homelander end exactly as he does with
this pathetic kind of Mcgrubberesesque
pleading that he does. I thought that
was funny and I thought that was very
fitting for the way he should die. But I
just think before that death I wanted to
see something like this. I wanted to see
him fully at his most terrifyingly
powerful stage. I think it's true that I
think it's unfortunate that in the final
season we we saw him kill fewer people
than he did in any of the other seasons
that led up to it, even though he was a
god at this point. Um, so
yeah, that's that's uh I I think it's
okay to want more from the final season
of a show. I found something an
interesting quote that you know, it used
to be let people like things. uh just
let people like things and that's been
like when I started working at New
Rockstars that was my kind of sentiment
like there's g there's enough negativity
on the internet let's just create a
space a safe space where people can just
enjoy things but as we start to grow and
bring in um people who you know are on
the team who want to be more critical on
camera and as I've wanted to be more
critical on camera um I think we also
have to be okay with like let people not
like things like let people hate like
media and content let people [ __ ] on But
I also think both sides need to just be
okay with letting other people feel the
way they feel. And I often feel like
that whenever you like something that
other people hate, you feel like all the
people who hate it hate it for the one
dumb reason that you think is dumb. And
when you hate something and it seems
like everybody else likes something, you
think they all like it for the same one
reason that you find dumb to like
something. Often for that latter
category, people feel like, "Oh, I am
mad at Disney own Star Wars right now."
So, everybody who likes it must be a
Disney shill or someone who just only
likes watching Disney shills. Where it's
totally possible to never watch any kind
of Disney YouTuber and just go to watch
things like Skeleton Crew, Acolyte, uh,
Ahsoka, The Mandalorian, and Grou, and
Andor and just kind of like it and just
kind of like it. And that doesn't make
you like drinking any kind of Kool-Aid.
It's also possible to not like what Star
Wars is doing right now and not be a um
a toxic bigot who just listens to
certain podcasts and YouTube channels.
You know, it's possible to just be
someone who's like, "Hey, I'm I'm not
crazy about what Disney's doing with the
Disney Plus era stuff. I didn't really
like The Mandalorian and Grou. I don't
like Mandalorian. I don't like Skeleton
Crew. I don't I don't like this stuff
like my favorite." You could be someone
who just really really loves Revenge of
the Sith and Phantom Menace and that and
that's really okay. It doesn't put you
in any camp. I think everyone just who's
too plugged into the internet assumes
that anyone who has a different opinion
of them h than they do is part of a camp
that is mobilized in a way to make their
lives hell. And that couldn't be further
from the truth. Most people don't care
about the drama of it all. They just
like stuff or they don't like stuff. And
so like don't make your whole identity
on whether you like something or don't
like something I think is a takeaway of
it. And I just saw that kind of
discourse happening with the final
season of The Boys in a very unfortunate
way. It's okay to not like this final
season and it doesn't doesn't mean that
you're toxic uh or or you're dumb. Uh
and it's okay to like this final season
and it doesn't mean that you're someone
who's just like programmed to only ever
say nice things. So just shut up and
move on either way, I think, is what I'm
saying. Um, but I I'm of the opinion
that I mostly liked the way this finale
set uh left things. I I think that like
the right people died, the right
resolutions happened. It's just like the
overall pacing of the final season and
the the promises that the show made,
even Krypky's version of the show made
were not fully delivered on in the final
season. I I I agree with that sentiment.
I wanted to see more of a scorched
earth. I wanted to see more of a terror.
I wouldn't even be m I wouldn't even
mind if like all of like this universe
gets destroyed or obliterated made
unlivable by Homelander. Um if if like
they weren't going to continue GenV,
what what reason do we need to live in
the present and future of this world? Um
I don't The boys is a show that made us
very okay with bleak endings where the
bad guys win. Uh and I thought there was
an opportunity here to end The Boys that
way. I really thought that's what they
were going to do. But the fact that they
didn't, I I I don't really mind because
overall I I loved the journey. I love
how the boys gave us like an alternative
to televised superhero content and I'll
always be grateful for that.
Um
I'm not looking at all of the comments
right now, but I'm sure you guys all
have an opinion on this. Um,
Kenneth asking, "Do you think they'll
bring the character from the gifted?"
I'm not sure exactly who you're talking
about, but thank you for your super
chats.
Um,
another thing I wanted to
talk about here. Oops, that's not where
I am.
Oh. Um,
other questions that people had about
let's see.
Oh, Spider Noir. Guys, uh, I don't know
if our breakdown's out yet, but it may
just be Josh is waiting for me to finish
doing this, but our breakrough our
breakdown of Spider Noir is going to be
coming to the channel very soon. I
really liked Spider Noir. Um, those of
you who have watched it, what are your
thoughts? Maybe you haven't watched all
the episodes, so let's avoid spoilers in
the chat. I'm not going to spoil
anything. Um, but I really enjoyed this
show. I wish it was weekly cuz I think
it's a kind of show that's really fun to
digest in chunks. I think it would have
really been fun to watch Spider Noir and
give people a chance to watch each
episode in color and each episode in
black and white, but it's really hard to
do a binge drop like that and have to
make a a decision right away of black
and white or true hue color. Um, but
it's a uh it's a great show. My
recommendation would be
um
I guess my recommendation would be to
watch it in color. I personally watched
it in black and white first cuz I love
that. But the only reason I would say
watch it in color is because choices
that they made for the villain's power
sets are just not even visible in a lot
of the black and white shots. Like you
can't see um you can barely see, you
don't know if Tombstone turns gray or if
he just has this weird kind of reptilian
um Star Trek the Next Generation looking
prosthetic makeup. Um uh like Sandman,
you don't know what color his sand is.
And I think those color choices are
important to the way their powers
manifest. And I think even a megawatt
looks cooler when you can see them in
color. And while most of the time a lot
of the the kind of multis falcon
inspired noir Casablanca looking shots,
Chinatown looking shots, most of it
looks really cool in black and white.
Um, I would say like to uh to appreciate
the superhero elements of this world,
the spider, even the whole there's a
nightmare sequence that happens in an
episode and that looks so much cooler in
color than it does in black and white.
And a lot of you are like, "Oh, you
can't appreciate stuff that's in black
and white." No, no. I I prefer it. As I
said, I watched it first in black and
white, but uh for this kind of show, you
you kind of need to see it in color. Um
Yeah. And the color looks really cool. I
love a really beautifully saturated
show. And there's certain shots where
they just had like purple lights, pink
lights, blue lights, all different uh
levels of the frame were lit by a
different color in a way that just looks
incredible Dick Tracy style. And I love
that. I love it so much. So I think it's
people are like uh uh I don't know color
phobic when they um when they watch some
of these things because they were so
coded on like desaturated shows. Even a
show like The Boys is so desaturated in
a way that like it's not even fun to
look at sometimes, but a show like this
is like, yes, more of this, please.
Uh, another question. Doomsday trailer
win so we can stop feeling about jealous
about Cineacon. Uh, I love does the does
he know reference in the Batman 2 video.
Um, yeah. Uh, I think the Doomsday
trailer will either hit June 4th, June
17th, or during Comic-Con. Uh, that
would be
July 25th. I think those are the dates
that are most likely if you're putting
any bets on anything.
Um, can we put a poll in the chat of
whether you prefer black and white or
color for the Spider Noir?
Um, I think it'd be fun to see. I most
people are probably going to say color,
but I just think you kind of need it
just to get visual context for some of
these fights.
Uh, but most of the time if it's just
like Nick Cage just like sitting in a
room talking to someone, which are some
of the best scenes of the show, black
and white is my preference.
Um, but I do think again they should not
have dropped all the episodes at the
same time if they were going to give you
that option because I think people would
have found really fun nuances week to
week between like like after episode 4
came out, people would have been all
over social media talking about, oh
well, if you watch it this way, it would
have looked like this, but if you watch
it this way, it would have looked like
this. And it could have been like
through the 4th of July, we could have
had this show would have dominated the
cultural conversation. But instead, I
don't know how many people even watched
it this week. And I guess luckily we
don't have any major
nerd streaming shows between now and
X-Men 97 or rather House of the Dragon
season 3. So um
I wouldn't uh maybe people do catch up
on it, but I don't know, man. It kind of
feels like everyone was talking about
The Boys, which was dropped weekly. No
one really dropped about talked about
Fallout as much because there was more
of a binge drop and and unfortunately
these shows just like you lose some of
the heat when they're binge dropped. Um,
someone's asking coverage of Michael.
Uh, I haven't seen it yet. Um, I don't
know. Maybe I maybe I do see it. I I I I
don't know how I break that movie down
because it's like
I guess you just break down the movie as
it was, but there's a real story there.
And I think the people who would come to
YouTube watching a video about Michael
don't want to hear the whole story of
it. So, it's hard for me to just put
that aside.
Um, someone asked about obsession. Yeah,
maybe we we probably will do something
with Obsession. I don't know when or
where. Um something that a lot of people
were asking like, "Hey, why isn't New
Rockstars covering from?" Um what
happened to From? Uh it's like
unfortunately I haven't found it yet. Uh
from hasn't um
uh like I found it I discovered its
existence way too late. Um, and it's
just one of these other shows that like,
you know, we've tried to do this
experiment where we are covering
everything that like the staff of New
Rockstars is currently watching already
that's popular. Um, and that that
experiment is just kind of yielding
diminished returns because what we found
is the more stuff we cover, the more
tenfold people come at us to be like,
"Okay, well, why aren't you also
covering all these other shows?" And
they're just kind of more mad at you
than they are excited that you are
covering this show. So, I'm like, "All
right, well, we're just going to
disappoint people." the more we do, uh,
and unless we can be a huge media outlet
that can assign freelancers to cover
this show, this show, this show, this
show, this show, uh, then you, then we
can't really cover as much as we are.
But like a lot of people say, well, why
don't you just do that? Well, then you
kind of lose your brand identity. There
are plenty of these big news outlets
that I'm not going to name, but like
when they review things, everyone kind
of makes fun of them. And then you look
at who reviewed it, it's like, well,
that's not the same person who reviewed
this other movie. There's no clear kind
of editorial voice of the person who's
reviewing things. So, I don't want that
to be us. I kind of like that we have
the team that we have and I want to like
when one of our staff members is
watching a certain show, if they have
the bandwidth and if they can break it
down, I I want to create a pathway where
they can. But I think collectively as a
channel, we do start to hit that
bandwidth burnout limit when we're
covering four shows at a time. And I
think our viewers are kind of like,
well, I watch this one show or these two
shows, but I definitely don't watch
these two or three other shows, so I'm
not going to the viewership numbers
start to drop on the channel. So, we're
we're trying to just figure out what we
can make the most sense of. And I think
throughout the rest of the year, I don't
think we're going to hit a saturation
period where there are
that many shows to cover at the same
time, but I think two is a good number.
I think if a channel can break down two
different shows at the same time,
generally you're okay. I think like so
this summer we're going to have House of
the Dragon and X-Men 97. Those are the
only two shows I think will be
overlapping at the same time that we'll
be covering. And then there will be some
overlap when lantern starts, but like
lanterns won't overlap with Xen or with
uh with House of the Dragon. So, we'll
be covering Lanterns starting in August.
Uh we'll have Vision Quest starting in
October. Vision Quest will coincide with
uh The Rings of Power. I think those
will be the two shows we're covering at
the same time. But yeah, I think two
shows is kind of like a good cadence to
be in uh if you're also trying to cover
movie news as it happens, you know. Um,
so yeah, that's kind of where we're at
right now. And it might just mean that
there are shows that like you want us to
cover that we're that maybe we have
covered in seasons past that we're just
not going to cover just because like it
it burns us out to cover like three,
four, five shows at the same time at the
same time. Uh, so we're going to break
some hearts. I think there will be some
shows that we're not covering, but
that's just that's the that's the best
we can do. if we're also trying to cover
movies as they come out, trailers as
they come out, all that other stuff.
Question from D stuff, thank you for
your super chat. How do you think Marvel
will recontain the verse post Secret
Wars Battle World and make street level
heroes important still? You know, it's
crazy. I think Marvel Studios is still
trying to make street level heroes
important during the Doomsday and Secret
Wars event. Like, we're going to get a
Daredevil Born Again season 3 in between
Doomsday and Secret Wars. I have no idea
how that's going to make sense unless
it's all set before the events of
Doomsday. Maybe it maybe that is the
answer. Um but I think uh I think you
can do that if like you never say
multiverse again after Secret Wars is
done. Just have one universe where
everyone is in it. really do a good job
in that universe of a of uh defining
space locations, geography, so that you
can have a universe that has a a New
York in it, um a Westchester County in
it, a Wakanda in it, a new Asgard in it,
a West Coast in it, a Chicago, an
Oklahoma, a Florida, uh a Mexico,
um a China, um a Russia in it. like
having locations where people live in
these places. That's like how we can
have different scale events in the world
that we're in. Uh you can also go to
space. You can have a better defined
cosmos. Like I don't think the MCU has
done a good enough job of of defining
the star map as well as like cosmic
stories and fantasies like you know Star
Wars and Star Trek have. So that's
another way you can do it is like uh and
you can do all this in the mutant saga
because like the mutant saga already
kind of has characters who are both on
world and off-world characters who are
on crowa in Janosha and in Hudson
Valley, New York and in other cities
around the world. Um so I think you can
have street level versus cosmic pretty
easily if you just have like a sense of
who your characters are and where they
live in that universe.
Would you like to see Electra in Born
Again season 3? I think we will. Um, I
don't know if I need her in it, but I
think we're going to have her in it. Oh,
here we go. Michael is on its way to
make a billion dollars. It ends in 1989.
What story do you think isn't told?
I'm not saying that the movie is not
successful and I think there is a huge
audience there who wants to see this era
of Michael Jackson. But it's hard to
ignore for me what happens after 1989 in
his life when I'm talking about him.
That's all I'm saying. So, I'm not
saying that like adding those elements
uh from his life to this movie would
have made it a better movie. That's not
at all what I'm saying. And I'm not
saying it would be a a less successful
movie. I think part of the success is
that it is just a snapshot. Um I
understand that there's a huge audience
out there, a huge global audience that
just wants to put on blinders and just
focus on this part of his life. But I'm
saying it's hard for me. It's hard for
me to ignore what I consider to be a
pretty important context.
Uh, but thank you for your super chat.
I'm just trying to be honest with an
answer here. Uh, Abdul saying, "Hi, do
you think Andy Reynolds rumors last year
will just be a code name for a cameo
like Luke Cage was or Bob's past?"
I don't remember Annie Reynolds rumors
last year. I don't know what you're
talking about.
Um, Bob's past will according to be
touched on. Does anyone know what
exactly
you're talking about here? I don't I'm
sorry. I don't know what you're
referring to. Um, thank you for another
super chat saying, "Depending on how
doomsday plays out. Will quantum mania
become irrelevant, skippable, downright
unwatchable?" We actually have an
episode of The Road to Doomsday coming
out tomorrow that talks about how these
movies are still very relevant just for
the Paul Rudd Scott Lang of it all and
the Cassie Lang of it all. Two
characters who will be in Avengers
Doomsday. I I think there will be some
kind of context. I don't think it'll be
fully irrelevant, but I think there will
be MCU movies that are even less
relevant than the Ant-Man trilogy and
Quantumia are for Doomsday. So, if we're
doing rewatches, I I think it it's
important to at least rewatch
Quantumania just to see what the plan
was going to be uh and to track Scott
Lang's journey.
I'm trying to find my screen here.
I'm an old man yelling at clouds.
There it is.
Um
guys, uh House of the Dragon, that was
the other thing I was going to ask for.
This House of the Dragon trailer looks
awesome. Um I I'm not going to break
down this final trailer. I didn't break
down the second trailer either, but
there's a lot of cool stuff that's going
to happen in this final season. Can we
put another poll in the chat? Um,
asking I want to ask you guys, New
Rockstars historically has done Easter
egg breakdowns like the Monday morning
or afternoon after a Sunday night drop.
However, for A Night of the Seven
Kingdoms, we were actually able to
publish them Sunday nights. That was
really cool that we were able to do
that. I guess my question is, do you
care? Um, do you have a preference?
Would would you go on YouTube Sunday
nights after watching these episodes to
the New Rockstars channel and watch our
breakdowns on Sunday nights or would you
prefer having our breakdowns come out
the Monday the next day? Um because if
we can come if we can wait till Monday
the next day, it gives our editors more
time to do a polish on the edit and make
it a little bit of a prettier visual
analysis than it would be if it just
came out on Sunday nights. So that's why
I'm kind of saying there are options to
which we do it. Uh if you could let us
know in the chat what your preference
would be. Um we're good either way. I
think the difference between House of
the Dragons season 3 and A Night of the
Seven Kingdoms season 1 is A Night of
the Seven Kingdoms was largely just like
a simpler story. There wasn't a whole
lot of lore to get into. There was some
lore, but a lot of it was just like, you
know, exploring the relationship between
these two characters and and the
implications and their ti their ties to
the Targaryen family. For this, there's
a lot of characters. There's a lot of uh
political alignments, there's um there's
prophecy, there is symbolism,
um there's a lot of adaptation changes,
and Night of the Seven Kingdoms was a
very faithful adaptation. and there
weren't that many changes here in in
Night of or in House of the Dragon.
There's like quite a few changes uh to
the characters and to the events of the
show. So, it just takes longer to do
those. Those will be longer videos and
it will be harder for us to get them out
on Sunday nights than it was for Night
of Seven Kingdoms. So, that's why I'm
kind of asking you guys if you care
either way.
Uh so, let us know. I would love to see
poll results with those of you joining a
Friday live stream. I I imagine most of
you are not the kind of people who care
about our Game of Thrones IP content.
You clicked on a video without any Game
of Thrones thing in the thumbnail. So, I
don't know if this is the best sample
audience to ask for this kind of thing.
I just figured I'd ask you guys because
you are the ride or dies if you're here.
Hi, Christian. Pronouncable. Test
completed.
Uh, what's easier for the editors?
Honestly, I've asked and they've said
kind of either or because the video that
they're aiming to make, if it's
published on Sunday nights, is like a
simpler video visually. Um, but if they
have more time, if they drop it on
Monday, they can do more with it. So, I
think it's like if you just want to give
us more time to work on it, we can do
this. But either way, we're working. So,
it's just asking them when they do the
work and how much they're able to do.
Um, so they've kind of said it's a coin
flip either way. Now, I don't know if
that only applied to Night of the Seven
Kingdoms and for for House of the
Dragon, they'd be like, "Well, actually,
we really would uh prefer." And
whichever way we go with, we may not do
it the same way every week. We may try
it one week and and try not doing it
another week. I'm just curious what you
guys' thoughts are cuz for Daredevil
Born Again, we dropped them Tuesday
nights like as these episodes came out.
We did that for um Punisher One Last
Kill as well. And I think for a show
like that that wasn't necessarily a show
that everyone was watching water cooler
style on the same night. A lot of people
would watch that the next day or
Thursdays. So I think for some shows you
you we really can take more time. We try
to drop our breakdown after like a
critical mass of people have watched the
episode. Um because that's when like
YouTube is most likely to recommend it
to people. It's when people are more
likely to be on YouTube. And like for
certain for certain streaming shows,
yeah, they are shows that people will
watch as they drop. Sometimes there are
shows that people will watch the next
day or the day after. And I think
Daredevil born again was a show like
that. And and I think maybe even Night
of the Seven Kingdoms was a show like
that. But there's certain things with
like HBO shows like for Game of Thrones,
sometimes people do watch them on those
Sunday nights. It's part of their
ritual. So we were trying to tap in see
if we can tap into that ritual a little
bit. Uh and we may do that with with
House of the Dragon as well.
Oh, some people are asking, is uh House
of the Dragon on Prime or HBO Max? You
know, it kind of depends on your
country. For most of the world, it's on
HBO.
But um I was talking to someone at an
event who's from the UK and they're
like, "Oh, we don't have HBO shows
dropped the same way you you guys get
them. We get them on other streaming
platforms and we just all torrent them."
Um, so that's just like that. It's just
kind of an interesting thing to discover
for international viewers. And a brand
like HBO shows like Game of Thrones, it
is a global brand. They just get it
differently. Another thing that I saw
this week that's kind of crazy is like
Disclosure Day, the new Steven Spielberg
movie is dropping in the United States
and and many other countries on June
12th. It was going to be dropping in
Japan on July, like early July. And they
just posted last night. They're like,
"Oh, sorry. It's not going to come till
October 1st." Sadly, I've learned that
in Japan, it's really hard to be a movie
fan just because for whatever reason,
like they just like don't release movies
at the same time as like the rest of the
world generally does.
Indian Warrior asking
uh Meisto in Doomsday or Secret Wars.
Probably not. I would say not in
Doomsday. Maybe in Secret Wars. I mean,
we got to get Meisto back at some point,
right? Right. Right. Someone asking
predictions for doomsday billing order.
Billing order is a specific contractual
um negotiated thing between the agents
in the studio. Uh Robert Downey Jr. is
going to be first build
easily first build. Second after that I
think they would go with probably Chris
Evans then Chris Hemsworth.
Um,
then I'm just going by like who has like
the best agents and who has like the
biggest resume after that that like the
Russo brothers valued the most when they
were negotiating this story. Uh, you
probably after that have maybe Paul
Rudd.
Um, I'm assuming that uh or maybe
probably um Florence Pew either either
Florence Pew or or Paul Rudd after that.
Um, you probably have Sebastian Stan. I
assume this is what you're asking about
billing order, right? I don't know. This
is some agent at CIA who's asking like,
"Do I need to work harder to get David
Harbor higher in the building?" I have
no idea. All I know is that Robert
Downey Jr. is going to be first build. I
guess the more interesting question is
who's going to be the the and and the
with at the end of the credits uh with
so and so and so and so because that's
kind of like after the first three, the
most valuable spot to be. That's where
they usually put the elder of the cast
or when they could surprisingly get this
person. So I don't think like Downey
Hemsworth or Evans will be the and or
the width. But maybe you have someone
like
and introducing who the younger person
is. I I Pedro Pascal is going to be
pretty high in the billing. Um maybe you
have and Ian Mckllen
with Patrick Stewart. Maybe those two
are at the bottom or something like that
just because they're kind of the elders
of the cast. Interesting question. I I
honestly don't know.
Uh someone saying odds of Spider-Man uh
dying in brand new day. Uh is that why
he's not in Doomsday? He gets
resurrected in Secret Wars with the
symbiote. You know, there was some
rumors going around about test
screenings where there's a controversial
ending where he dies at the end of the
movie. Uh I think like kind of a death
and a resurrection is something we
already saw at the end of Infinity War
going into Endgame. So I'd be really
shocked if that is what they do. Um, I
we just already kind of saw that. Um, I
don't think it's going to be his death.
I think there may be another character's
death. Maybe Hulk's death or something
like that. Um, but yeah, there was
specifically a theory going around that
we talked about in Tuesday's video, I
think it was, or Wednesday's video
talking about um how someone out there
saying he gets resurrected with the
symbiote and that's how we get the black
suit. H maybe
MJH. God, man. Guys, we got Let's move
on. No more conversation about I'm not
gonna answer any super chats about
Michael Jackson. I'm done talking about
that. Geez.
Um, one thing that if you live in the LA
area, you should join us for, we're
doing IGN live on Sunday, June 7th. It's
actually the event is happening
Saturday, June 6th through Sunday, June
7th. New Rex are going to be there on
Sunday. We're going to have some fun
stuff going on. And you can uh get
tickets by like going over here and then
when you go um
accept them all, you can put in your
information and it's you see it's pretty
affordable. Like it's not that bad. Uh
and if you go in and you put in like New
Rockstars 10 is our discount code and
you get $10 off that. What a deal that
is. So you should do that and it's a
fun. We'll all be there. We're going to
be doing a live Road to Doomsday episode
talking about Captain America: Civil
War. You can be in the room for that
conversation if you live in the LA area.
But if you don't live in the LA area,
don't worry. IGN is live streaming the
whole thing. You can join us on YouTube
for it. And if you missed it for
whenever we do it on Sunday, don't
worry. We're going to be publishing the
VOD of just our panel on the New
Rockstars channel the following weekend.
So, that's something fun that we're
doing. And thank you for IG to IGN for
for um inviting us. Yeah, I mean it's
gonna be uploaded later during the
normal window when Road to Doomsday
episodes upload.
Another thing you can do to support us.
Hey, hey, sign up for our newsletter,
nerd.shop. Look at these designs. So
many great designs. You can get all
these shirts. One of the best ways you
can support us at New Rockstars
nerd.shop.
Nai shop. Look at this Doom chess. I
think we we underestimate how important
chess is going to be to Dr. Doom.
There's going to be a lot of chess
references in Doomsday. I'm confident.
Look at this guy wearing his Mesto shirt
right now. Brazilionaire. What a hero.
What a guy. Gotta love you.
All right. Um, I'm going to call it
there for this episode of Office Hours.
Guys, it's been so fun to talk about all
this stuff, to answer all your
questions. Uh, thank you all so much for
joining us during this live stream. Oh,
another question from Indian Warrior
asking, "Would the Russo brothers and
Destiny Cretton be aware of each other's
film plots since they tie into each
other? Who would coordinate this?" Yes,
I think these are important uh enough
stories that they are uh they it would
be Kevin Feige, it'd be Louis's Bizto,
it'd be Brad Winderbomb, it'd be other
Marvel producers. They're big enough for
the studio. Steven Brousard, they're
chatting with each other, they're
comparing notes, and yes, they're aware
of each other's stories. They're at
least aware of each other's stories.
Now, I don't know if Destiny knows the
full plot of Doomsday, and I don't know
if the Russo brothers know the full plot
of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but they
know enough about those characters if
they're featured in each other's
stories. Yeah. Uh Edward, I talked about
this earlier. It has been paused for at
least now, but we'll have answers on
like what our plan is for those coming
soon. Yeah, for those of you watching
the stream right now, you don't have to
leave New Rockstars. We'll be releasing
our Spider Noir breakdown uh on this
channel right after we're done here. So,
I think you'll really love it. Uh, I
assume that was from Josh or somebody
else. Um, I want to thank Joshua Steven
who did an amazing job editing all the
videos you saw on the channel this week
on New Rockstars. Brian Kim set up this
live stream and always does an amazing
job. Everything he does here as our
studio tech and break room producer.
Check out Brian and Berg on the break
room every week. Uh, they do amazing
work co-hosting with the rest of the New
Rockstars team. Uh, and thanks to our
supporting editors for everything they
do at New Rockstars. And I also want to
thank uh one of our NR underground
subscribers. Let's say you, Frederick
Price, for supporting us at the
executive producer level. It's uh it's
like the best way you can support us
other than getting some merch from
nerd.shop. You can go to
nrunder.supcast.com,
which is where we have our uh exclusive
like behindthe-scenes conversations.
Berg and I are just recorded an episode
that we're going to be releasing on
Monday talking about these new Amazon AI
creator funds and and what that really
means for the industry. Yeah, it's a
great episode. Thanks again for joining
us. I'll be doing this uh in the weeks
ahead. I mean, we we're going to be
doing some live streaming next week uh
assuming we get a Spider-Man trailer.
I'll be here live answering questions
again. Uh I have a lot of fun doing
this. Thanks again. Love you guys. Have
a great weekend. Stay safe out there.
Bye-bye.
Heat.
Heat.
