Huge [1:25] thank you to boot.dev for sponsoring [1:26] today's video and let's get into disc in [1:29] mythic plus as it has changed quite a [1:31] bit like we mentioned in our previous [1:33] video to now be focusing more on shields [1:35] and shadow mends, but there is quite a [1:37] bit of nuance about this. One of the [1:39] things is about how you use penance. [1:41] [music] For one thing, you are running [1:43] encroaching shadows and revel in [1:45] darkness so that your damaging penance [1:47] does spread shadow word pain. Now this [1:49] is crazy important because your shadow [1:51] mend is procking based on the number of [1:55] shadow word pains that you have out. And [1:57] so, it's enormously important on trash [2:00] pulls to be spreading around lots of [2:03] Shadow Word pain. But, that also can [2:05] take a lot of GCDs to do so. So, pretty [2:07] much on high density packs, high [2:10] quantity packs that are going out there, [2:12] you want to be hitting pennants [2:14] offensively as much as you possibly can. [2:17] And this is going to feed you a wealth [2:19] of Shadow Mend procs that you are [2:20] basically using as your primary healing [2:22] effect. And so, you have two main areas [2:25] where your healing comes from in [2:26] dungeons on trash pulls. One is your [2:29] Shadow Mend, and the other is your Void [2:32] Shield. And so, you're really making [2:34] sure you're focusing on hitting the fat [2:36] Void Shield often onto yourself to take [2:39] advantage of Prophet's Will, where your [2:41] shields are 30% stronger on yourself, [2:44] because then that basically just [2:45] isolates one person out of the equation. [2:48] You never really have to worry about [2:50] healing yourself, and then two more [2:51] shields go out. One of them might cleave [2:54] onto the tank, it might not. And then [2:56] you have one other person who usually [2:58] has a huge shield, and you don't have to [3:00] worry about healing that person, and you [3:03] can instead spend your Shadow Mends on [3:04] the other two or three people after [3:06] that. And so, this is a huge area where [3:10] Shadow Mends and like big single target [3:12] healing comes into play. And if you have [3:14] enough mobs with Shadow Word pain on [3:16] them, then you're going to have [3:19] basically infinite Shadow Mend procs. [3:21] Now, if you get into like chain pulling [3:23] situations where you're not having [3:26] enough dot spread for your Shadow Word [3:28] pains, feel free to manually apply some [3:30] more when you really need to. But, a lot [3:33] of times, if you just keep on hitting [3:35] offensive pennants, you will spread [3:37] around enough of them to get the full [3:39] coverage that you need to. When it comes [3:41] to your mana economy, this is a big [3:44] frustrating area, I know, for a lot of [3:45] disc players, but it's kind of built off [3:47] of a couple of like core principles that [3:50] you want to do. [3:51] Casting more Shadow Word Pain does [3:54] actually have kind of a negative [3:55] downside to your mana. It's not an [3:57] enormous amount, but it does cost more [4:00] mana than casting the Penances does. [4:02] Casting lots of regular Power Word [4:04] Shield absolutely drains your mana in a [4:07] huge way. And casting lots of Flash [4:09] Heals can be a pretty large mana drain [4:12] as well, but it's something you often [4:13] have to do when you are starting to run [4:15] dry from your Shadow Mend procs. And so, [4:18] there's situations where you prefer not [4:21] to do certain things, but you kind of [4:23] get forced into it when you don't have [4:25] as many resources on hand. So, the [4:27] offensive Penances on trash, Void [4:29] Shield, and Shadow Mend are kind of [4:31] carrying a lot of your healing, and then [4:33] you're using your Flash Heals in between [4:35] to make sure you supplement the rest of [4:37] your output. You do want to make sure [4:39] you're using your Mind Blast on cool [4:40] down, cuz that'll also buff the damage [4:42] and healing of your Penance, and you [4:44] Shadow Word Death on targets when [4:45] they're sub 20% health. But, you don't [4:47] really need to seek out execute targets [4:50] the way you did before, because your [4:51] atonement healing is just not as strong [4:53] as it was previously. Another big mana [4:55] tip is that you don't really cast a lot [4:57] of Radiance. So, Evangelism [4:59] automatically applies a Radiance [5:01] whenever you cast it, which is great. [5:02] Also benefits from Harsh Discipline, but [5:04] after you cast Evangelism, you get two [5:06] casts of Radiance that are instant cast [5:08] and cost 40% less mana. Now, what you [5:11] want to do is you want to use your [5:13] defensive Penances in between pulls or [5:16] your Void Shields, if you can, in [5:18] between pulls or [5:20] whenever there's actually like [5:21] atonements expiring, to basically mini [5:23] game manage your atonements on five [5:25] players. And that way, you don't have to [5:27] cast as many Radiance, and so often, [5:30] I'll cast about three Radiance between [5:32] an Evangelism. I'll cast the first one [5:34] when you cast an Evangelism, it casts a [5:35] Radiance, and then I have two that are [5:37] discounted by 40%, and that's most of [5:40] the Radiance casts that I will be doing. [5:42] And that way, you don't have to pay the [5:44] full price of 13,000 mana for your Power [5:47] radiance to actually have that cast go [5:49] out and you have the discount and you [5:51] benefit from your harsh discipline in [5:53] the process. It's a nice way to further [5:56] reduce the costs and not pay full price [5:59] for a lot of different things. Now the [6:00] question comes when you're on a boss [6:02] fight or you know, maybe a couple [6:04] targets and you don't have a lot of [6:05] shadow mans, well what do you do then? [6:07] And that's where you want to maintain [6:09] your shadow repairs as best as you [6:10] possibly can and start using more [6:13] defensive pennants to start kind of [6:15] closing the gap for your lack of [6:16] resources. And this is where, you know, [6:18] almost every single time you're on a [6:20] boss fight, you're just using pure [6:22] defensive friendly pennants cast onto [6:25] your allies to maintain that atonement. [6:28] And also when you get into like raw [6:30] ticking encounters like Lura, you have [6:32] to be really stingy with when you are [6:35] casting those defensive pennants because [6:38] when you defensive pennants, you also [6:39] heal everybody with atonement on them [6:41] thanks to the contrition passive built [6:42] into pennants. And so on the rot fights, [6:45] you actually have to kind of take your [6:46] time and make sure you're not [6:48] overhealing as much with those pennants [6:49] casts and even potentially pulling your [6:51] pennants charges so that you can kind of [6:53] send them back to back for like high [6:55] damage periods to quickly reverse that [6:57] incoming damage on your allies. That's [6:59] also where you can take advantage of [7:00] like your void shield casts, kind of [7:02] time them better for specific moments [7:05] that are going to be going out onto the [7:07] party. And when your cool downs are [7:09] coming into use, evangelism is going to [7:11] give you Archangel with our talent set [7:13] up and this is increasing your healing [7:16] and shielding by 15%. And so this is [7:19] where during your cool downs, you can be [7:21] more aggressive with a regular power [7:23] word shield when you need to. [7:24] Understanding that it's going to do a [7:26] lot more healing, but it also could be [7:28] good to just cast it on yourself in a [7:30] rot encounter so that way you could heal [7:32] other people more directly with your [7:34] pennants is for example. [7:35] >> [music] [7:35] >> And that allows you to take advantage of [7:37] profits will. Another thing to keep in [7:39] mind is that the binding heals talent [7:41] where 20% of flash heal output also [7:44] heals you, works with shadow mend. And [7:47] so, if you can bias your shadow mend and [7:50] flash heals towards other people to [7:52] benefit from the binding heals for [7:53] yourself, that's really good. And then [7:55] you bias your void shield and power [7:58] shield casts onto yourself to benefit [8:00] from prophet's will. Now, that's also [8:02] really good. And that's a huge area for [8:05] uh garfrost or lura, where you can get [8:07] extra mana efficiency and basically just [8:09] make your healing effects stronger [8:11] overall, and that helps you just better [8:14] heal those encounters. It's leaning on [8:16] those extra effects that heal you for a [8:19] bit more. Since they nerfed a lot of [8:21] your atonement output in 12.0.5, [8:23] ultimate penitence is pretty crappy, but [8:26] so is barrier. And so, I would still [8:27] recommend running uppies and still [8:29] recommend [music] targeting an enemy [8:31] when you cast it, but you predominantly [8:34] use it as a defensive. Uh you can try to [8:37] use it at moments where there's also [8:39] like decently high damage, but I'm [8:41] pretty much looking for areas where I [8:42] send it as a personal cool down or as a [8:45] personal defensive to make sure that I [8:47] just survive. A big thing with ultimate [8:50] penitence is that it also makes you [8:51] immune to knockbacks and crowd control [8:53] effects. So, if you're walking into seat [8:55] of the triumvirate, for example, a lot [8:57] of groups are pulling double subjugator [8:59] at the start of the run. And that's the [9:01] only time they're running double [9:02] subjugator. Now, you can use phantasm [9:04] and fade to remove that effect, but [9:07] since they get pulled at different [9:08] times, they come out at different times, [9:10] and so you'd have to tank one of them [9:12] and then hit it as the second one gets [9:14] applied, which is enormously dangerous. [9:17] So, instead, you can basically just [9:19] start spreading around your shadowed [9:20] pains, hit uppies, you immune the first [9:23] one, and you're still in the air when [9:24] the second one goes out, and you've [9:25] immune both of them, and you're [9:27] chilling, you're happy. If any bolts go [9:29] out, well, you have 100% of HP shield, [9:31] and you're just safe. Beyond that, you [9:33] have your pain suppressions that you're [9:34] also casting a decent amount of shields [9:36] on. Like I mentioned, you don't want to [9:37] be overly aggressive with your power of [9:39] shields to hurt your mana economy, but [9:41] you can use your pain subs on yourself [9:44] or on other people quite aggressively as [9:46] you need to at this level of keys. Some [9:48] other things I really like to take [9:49] advantage of from like a utility angle [9:51] is I love running with Augur of Vocals [9:53] because you can get the Worm Stone cast [9:55] from them and [music] this is an ability [9:58] you can just drag onto your action bars [9:59] and you can teleport to the Augur of [10:01] Vocals up to 100 yards away. And so a [10:04] lot of times I'll just use that to [10:05] drink. And so whenever I'm kind of [10:07] hanging back, I just say, "Hey, you guys [10:09] go ahead." I drink and then when I kind [10:11] of have an eye on my map or my mini map, [10:13] I'll see when they're about 100 yards [10:14] away and then I'll hit the cast and you [10:16] can also hit it while you're moving. If [10:18] you see that they are running away from [10:19] you, you can run and cast it to catch up [10:23] and then you'll teleport onto the Augur [10:25] of Vocals location and be able to rejoin [10:27] the pull immediately. You also have some [10:29] really fun utility with Dominate Mind [10:32] where the best use of it is in Seat of [10:34] Triumph on the first boss. You can use [10:37] it on the blobs that are trying to [10:39] travel into the boss and this is going [10:41] to allow the blobs to just impact the [10:43] boss while they're friendly and then [10:45] that is going to make it so that the [10:48] damaging effect of the explosion doesn't [10:50] actually do any sort of damage as well. [10:52] There's a couple other ones that require [10:55] you to like manage your pet and like [10:57] move it around that can be a little bit [10:59] more dangerous. One of them is putting [11:01] it onto the Magisters with the mages [11:04] that cast polymorph which at the time of [11:06] this video is not breaking on damage. [11:08] But the downside for using that is that [11:12] whenever you set any mob free that has [11:14] like a regular aggro table, they will [11:16] try to kill you. They will really try to [11:18] kill you. It's like you put out an omega [11:21] taunt onto the enemy. And so you have to [11:24] be very, very careful with that [11:25] potentially killing you because you [11:26] might fade, you might release it or [11:28] might get let go, you might be far away [11:30] and you might hit fade, but it will keep [11:32] on trying to go back and kill you later [11:34] on and often at random times. So, the [11:37] other dominate minds, whether you're [11:38] trying to grab it on like the magisters, [11:41] uh whether you're grabbing like an [11:42] engineer, so you're not dealing with [11:43] some of the damage effects, you still [11:45] have to kill them later on. You don't [11:47] usually hold on to them forever and they [11:49] also try to kill you. So, be very, very [11:52] careful with dominate mind. Shackled [11:53] Undead is really good in both first boss [11:56] of Seat of the Triumvirate for the [11:57] blobs. You can basically like dominate [11:59] mind one, shackle the other, and then [12:01] dominate the shackled one later on to [12:04] get that cleared, too. Or you can also [12:06] use it in Pit of Saron for uh gosh, it's [12:09] like the the nether caster. As he's [12:11] casting a nether burst, it's this zero [12:13] HP mob that's attached to like the lich [12:16] resser. That's also a good one to take [12:18] advantage of, as well. Now, raids is [12:20] really interesting because you have to [12:22] play a little differently on each of the [12:24] fights depending on how powerful your [12:25] execute value is. Now, you're always [12:27] running the pet package with Death [12:29] Torment, inescapable torment, shadow [12:32] fiend to generate pets, but [music] some [12:35] fights like the paladins encounter, your [12:37] mana is in a really nasty spot because [12:39] you don't have frequent execute value. [12:41] But, when you get to the Crown of the [12:42] Cosmos, Beleren, and Midnight Falls, you [12:45] have a wealth of different opportunities [12:48] for you to get execute value, which [12:50] makes your mana economy stronger, which [12:52] can help influence a lot of your [12:53] decisions. So, let's start with paladins [12:55] because that fight is really, really [12:57] nasty and frustrating to play with. One [13:00] of the things on this encounter is that [13:02] the damage starts ramping up whenever [13:03] one of the paladins dies, which also [13:05] coincides with when you get execute [13:07] value. So, whenever you have a constant [13:10] perma sub 20% target, your mana kind of [13:13] flattens and you are constantly getting [13:15] enough mana to really suit most of your [13:18] needs unless you're trying to be super [13:20] aggressive and get like 20 player [13:21] atonements out all the time, which can [13:24] be possible. So, what you really need on [13:26] an encounter like Paladins [13:28] is to pace yourself until you get there. [13:32] And so, you're able to do that basically [13:34] by playing super passive. And so, all of [13:37] your Penances are going to be used [13:38] defensively in a rating environment. And [13:41] [music] when you're playing a more [13:42] passive play style, you're basically [13:44] just always having your defensive [13:46] Penance apply a new Atonement or refresh [13:49] an expiring one, and you'll be able to [13:51] spend your Surge procs as you're going [13:54] to get them, but you're not really [13:56] applying a lot of other Atonements. So, [13:59] one of the things that comes into play [14:00] whenever you're applying Atonements onto [14:02] everybody is the mana cost [14:03] considerations. So, Flash Heal is by far [14:06] your most expensive on its own, costing [14:09] 9,000 mana to apply Atonement to you and [14:12] one other person thanks to the Binding [14:14] Heal's talent. So, it's actually 4,500 [14:16] mana per person if it's a fresh [14:19] Atonement on yourself or like a refresh. [14:22] But, [14:23] if you have 4,500 mana from a Surge of [14:25] Light proc, which makes it cost half as [14:27] much, then 2,250-ish is a really good [14:31] cost to spend to apply Atonement to you [14:33] and one other person. Your other options [14:35] are Plea at 5,500 mana or Power Word: [14:39] Shield, which gives you a longer-lasting [14:41] Atonement thanks to the Indemnity [14:43] talent, but it costs 6,500 mana. Now, [14:46] this is where casting lots of Penance at [14:49] 4,000 mana to give you that extra [14:51] Atonement application is extremely [14:53] mana-efficient. And of course, you're [14:55] having a lot of healing coming from that [14:57] since the second part of Penance is that [14:59] whenever you heal with it, you use it [15:01] defensively, you are healing everybody [15:03] with Atonement for it as well, and [15:05] that's part of the Contrition passive [15:06] that comes into play. And so, your [15:08] single-target Atonement application when [15:10] you play very passively is defensive [15:13] Penance and Surge of Light Flash Heals. [15:15] But when you want to get more [15:16] aggressive, that's when you start [15:18] weaving in the Power Word: Shield and [15:20] the Plea casts to really build up your [15:22] atonements onto the raid before big [15:25] damage goes out. [15:26] Now, one of the big things you want to [15:28] keep in mind for when you need to set up [15:31] these atonements is you need to have a [15:33] very good reason for applying all of [15:35] them. On paladins, it's sacred tolls and [15:38] searing radiences, which are like the [15:39] big damage mechanics, and the searing [15:42] radiences are the war chaplain send [15:44] channel, which can last for quite a [15:46] while and do a whole bunch of damage. [15:48] Most of the time you're going to have [15:50] your evangelisms applied for those [15:52] specific moments, but sometimes in that [15:54] fight you don't. And so those are some [15:55] of the key moments where you can really [15:57] scale up a lot of your atonement count [15:59] and be a lot more efficient. [16:02] The other thing though is that you need [16:03] to make sure you have the damage [16:04] abilities on hand to render value from [16:07] that. And so that's where a lot of my [16:09] game play in raids is if I don't have a [16:12] specific mechanic that I am setting up [16:14] for that moment, I'll usually be holding [16:17] on to one charge of penance, and then [16:19] only sending a penance cast just before [16:23] the penance is over cap. So that means [16:26] you have two full stacks of penance and [16:28] have not used them. I never am sitting [16:30] on two stacks of penance ever. [16:33] At all. You are just never ever doing [16:35] that. And you're always in a rating [16:37] environment using it on your allies. [16:40] And so a lot of times what I do is in [16:42] between ramps, I'll keep a charge of [16:45] penance in case somebody drops low or is [16:48] in danger, I can just instantly send it [16:50] off into them. Or I'm just making sure [16:52] that if I'm about to get my second [16:54] charge of penance, I just hit it onto a [16:55] new target that does not have atonement [16:58] or the atonement is expiring. Which is [17:00] why on my raid frames, I have the raid [17:02] frames go gray when they have atonement, [17:04] but I also have an indicator that glows [17:06] red when the atonement is about to [17:08] expire. Because you can both refresh [17:11] that with the extra penances, and you [17:13] can do this while you have a 20 player [17:15] ramp out, which is also really helpful, [17:17] or you can just do it whenever you're [17:19] sending out a penitence to make sure [17:20] that you don't over cap. Both of them [17:22] are really helpful to make sure you're [17:24] as efficient as you can with your [17:25] resources. Now, when you're trying to [17:27] render a lot of value out of your ramps, [17:29] you have applied, you know, full 20 [17:31] atonements, and we can start with like [17:32] midnight falls. At the beginning of the [17:34] encounter, I will hit my penitences and [17:37] build up full stacks of wheel and woe [17:40] and force a proc out of your void [17:42] shield. Then I will flash shield into a [17:45] void shield cast, which applies five [17:47] atonements in total and applies those [17:49] void shields, which go into the boss [17:51] fight. Now, if you start the boss fight, [17:53] it also restarts your void shield setup, [17:56] and so if you were holding a void shield [17:59] cast, it resets it when the boss fight [18:01] starts. But if you pre-cast it, it keeps [18:04] [music] it, and so you're able to get [18:06] that extra prep value. [18:08] Now, how void shield works is it is a [18:10] deck of cards system, which means that [18:13] every single time a fight starts, then [18:15] you have basically a three cards in your [18:19] hand you could kind of think of whenever [18:21] you cast penitence. And so, [18:23] your first cast of penitence, let's say [18:25] it does not proc your void shield, then [18:27] that means that it has drawn the not [18:30] void shield card, right? And you have [18:32] two cards left in your deck. Now, I'm [18:34] not going to play the Monty Hall [18:35] scenario and tell you which card to draw [18:37] or anything along those lines, but [18:39] basically for your own understanding, [18:41] you have a 50/50 shot of either getting [18:44] a penitence after that or not getting [18:46] it. And a really interesting thing is, [18:48] let's say you go back to back on not [18:50] getting a void shield cast, the third [18:53] one is guaranteed to be a void shield, [18:55] but then you also start a new deck of [18:57] cards afterwards, and that's how you can [18:59] get those back to back void shield [19:01] casts. There's some people who are [19:02] working on some add-ons and some tools [19:04] to be able to better track it. If I have [19:05] a link, I'll link it in the description [19:07] down below if I can get it. If it's not [19:08] there, I don't have it at the moment. [19:09] But the way you want to think about it [19:11] is that if you have that void shield [19:14] proc on hand, keep in mind it soaks up a [19:16] ton of damage, applies a lot of [19:18] atonements, and is going to produce a [19:20] lot of atonement healing thanks to your [19:21] apex talents cuz that third tier of your [19:23] apex talent is super powerful. [19:26] And you also need to make sure that you [19:28] are not casting other penances over top [19:31] of it cuz even if you are tracking it, [19:33] you could kind of know there's some [19:34] areas where you could get away with it [19:36] in the deck of cards system if you went [19:37] like back-to-back on void shield casts. [19:40] Yes, it's true, but you also want to [19:41] make sure that unless you're super [19:43] heavily tracking it, you're taking [19:44] advantage of the void shields, but you [19:46] can make sure, especially if you're [19:48] proccing it when you have 20 atonements [19:50] out, that if there's still enough damage [19:53] happening on the party, it can be really [19:55] good to just drop that void shield onto [19:57] the group instead of casting, you know, [19:59] a smite or something along those lines [20:01] to get that void shield value. And your [20:03] timing for your abilities also matters a [20:06] lot. So, whenever you spawn your mind [20:09] bender that comes from evangelism, [20:10] right? And so, this is a key area where [20:12] you want to take advantage of [20:14] inescapable torment. And so, this [20:16] passive is causing your shadow or death, [20:18] mind blast, and penance to all trigger [20:20] an additional attack out of your pet, [20:22] and make sure it extends its duration. [20:24] So, those additional attacks do [20:26] tremendously larger damage than the just [20:30] basic pet attacks. So, you will use [20:33] shadow or death if you have a pet out, [20:36] whether it's mind bender or shadow [20:37] fiend. [20:38] You will use it in either of those [20:40] scenarios, or if a target is sub 20%, [20:44] or you can hit it as an instant global [20:47] if nothing else is going on. But the big [20:50] thing that a lot of people make a [20:51] mistake on is when they hit their [20:53] evangelism, they'll hit that first [20:55] shadow or death, but they don't hit the [20:57] second one. Cuz your shadow or death has [20:58] a 10-second cool down no matter what. [21:01] And so, even if you get no other [21:02] extensions, you can always hit that [21:04] second shadow or death and proc another [21:06] inescapable torment that results in more [21:08] mana, that results in more damage, that [21:10] results in more healing for you. And it [21:12] is a really big mistake that I see a lot [21:14] of people take advantage of. Another one [21:16] is that they try to be too perfect with [21:19] their Shadow Fiend procs. Shadow Fiend [21:21] spawns whenever you hit a Shadow Word [21:22] Death on a target sub 20% and a lot of [21:25] times on like Crown of the Cosmos or [21:29] perfectly hit Shadow Word Deaths so it [21:31] aligns with their damage. Now, that's [21:33] nice to do and it might have even been a [21:35] little better to do when you had [21:37] expiation still, but we're not in that [21:39] world any longer. And so, [music] if [21:41] it's a choice between maybe getting a [21:43] second Shadow Word Death with execute [21:45] value or getting one at a perfect time, [21:48] you want to go for two at every single [21:50] opportunity because you can render a lot [21:52] more of your value by taking advantage [21:55] of your Inescapable Torment procs to [21:57] result in additional healing. And [21:59] whenever you know that you actually [22:01] spawned that pet on fights like Crown of [22:03] the Cosmos, for example, I'll try to [22:05] snipe a really fast execute on the pull [22:07] on some of those little blobs. Well, you [22:09] also have your penance and your mind [22:11] blast as follow-up that really render a [22:13] lot of your atonement value by procing [22:16] the Inescapable Torment from your pets, [22:18] which results in a ton of additional [22:20] healing. So, when you're playing really [22:22] conservatively on paladins, you also [22:24] playing really aggressively on Crown, [22:26] Bellor Ren, and Midnight Falls. On [22:29] Crown, phase one gives you blob execute [22:32] value and execute value on any of those [22:35] lieutenants. [22:37] Phase two, you get execute value on the [22:40] small ads that are spawned and basically [22:41] put into execute range right away and [22:44] you can always get two Shadow Word [22:46] Deaths before the beams can potentially [22:49] kill them off, but sometimes they don't [22:52] always get cleaved down and you get even [22:54] longer value. And I'm not saying you [22:56] should do it, but it's quite favorable [22:58] if for some reason the mob gets put out [23:01] of the pull and you can keep on hitting [23:03] Shadow Word Death on it. That's pretty [23:05] helpful as well. [23:07] Uh in the final phase, you have [23:09] Rifts and Simulacrums and the [23:11] lieutenants that spawn and respawn that [23:13] you can also get a lot of Shadow Word [23:14] Death value out of. So, that means that [23:16] you're getting a lot of mana economy [23:18] consistently. And this is where you want [23:20] to be more aggressive with utilizing [23:22] your Power Word Shields with the [23:23] expectation that you're going to regen [23:26] more mana. That's how you really [23:28] leverage your output. It's just crank [23:31] way more healing than other people. On [23:33] Beleren, usually on like the pull, I [23:35] will only have like one Shadow Word [23:36] Death to get value out of the [23:39] convergence that is doing like the color [23:42] swap mechanic. And so, sometimes what [23:44] I'll do is I'll actually delay my Shadow [23:45] Word Death because I know I'm only going [23:47] to get one for like healing value and [23:49] I'll try to snipe it at like the very [23:51] tail end so I have like a defensive [23:53] penance into Mind Blast into defensive [23:55] penance into a Shadow Word Death to try [23:57] to capture that like last bit of [23:59] healing. That could be pretty nice for [24:01] like a little bit of sniping, but if you [24:03] used your Shadow Word Death on cool [24:04] down, then it also gives you some extra [24:05] attacks which can give you some extra [24:07] mana. But, whenever you're playing [24:09] Beleren, you should always be sniping [24:11] executes on both the embers and the eggs [24:14] every single time the second the [24:16] opportunity kind of comes around because [24:18] there is a little bit of like 50/50 [24:20] chance on Beleren that you can snipe an [24:21] execute on the eggs or on the embers [24:24] when the heal absorbs come out and get [24:26] the healing that way. But, a lot of [24:28] times, especially as damage gets better, [24:30] you really just snipe the execute the [24:31] second that it's available and you just [24:33] rip your healing uh for those absorbs [24:36] with like a mini ramp whenever you [24:37] possibly can. Mid Eye Falls is great. [24:39] There is so much value in where, [24:42] especially near the end of the [24:43] encounter, you kind of get all of your [24:45] mana back. [24:46] >> [music] [24:46] >> And so, whenever the termination [24:48] matrices come out, you can always Shadow [24:50] Word Death off of those. And so, I use a [24:52] mouseover macro so I can just mouse over [24:55] the boss frame and hit Shadow Word death [24:57] onto it every single time. And that way [25:00] I'm able to get the follow-up output out [25:03] of penance, mind blast, penance again, [25:05] that's all procing the inescapable [25:07] torment setup, and that's producing a [25:09] huge amount of healing and mana return [25:11] for me to keep everyone healthy. [25:13] With the intermission, that's a huge [25:15] area that requires a ton of healing, but [25:17] honestly, once you get out of the [25:19] intermission, the fight gets like [25:21] really, really chill. And so phase two [25:23] into like early phase three, you don't [25:26] really have to be as overly aggressive [25:27] with your atonement application as phase [25:29] one and the intermission. And so once [25:32] you get into phase three, you get into [25:34] execute extremely quickly, and then it's [25:36] basically like you could solo heal your [25:38] side and not have to worry about mana [25:41] whatsoever because you can easily [25:43] maintain 10 atonements, just keep on [25:45] hitting defensive penances into people [25:46] whose atonements are about to expire, [25:49] and keep everyone super healthy. And so [25:51] a lot of like the game for midnight [25:53] falls is actually being more more [25:55] aggressive with your mana in phase one [25:56] and in the intermission. And then being [25:59] like pretty conservative in like phase [26:01] two, be a little more aggressive if [26:03] you're if you're really needing to if [26:04] some cool downs are not doing what [26:06] they're supposed to be doing, but the [26:07] damage in phase two is usually not that [26:09] bad compared to the other phases before [26:11] it. Couple like side probe tips, if [26:14] you're taking advantage of Dracthyr in [26:17] raids, which you really should, uh [26:18] ultimate penance is insane because [26:20] ultimate penance will push you up into [26:22] the air. And so when you're on paladins [26:25] with the execution sentences sending [26:27] hammers all over the place, you can hit [26:29] your glide and you can basically just [26:31] glide above the hammers for a little [26:35] while as you find like a safe landing [26:36] spot, and that'll help you out a lot. On [26:39] Crown of the Cosmos, you can use the [26:40] double jump to jump across the gaps very [26:43] easily. That is just super valuable. You [26:46] also can avoid any of the uh fall damage [26:49] that happens going into the [26:50] intermission. [26:51] And when it comes into Oh, yeah, [26:54] Midnight Falls when you're leaving phase [26:56] two and you're getting knocked out of [26:58] the Darkwell, you definitely want to use [27:00] that double jump to quickly get into [27:01] position for your crystal, and that [27:03] helps you get back together with the [27:05] rest of the group. You can also take [27:07] advantage of Fantasm in the Crown of the [27:09] Cosmos intermission. And what this will [27:11] do is it'll remove the slowing effect [27:14] that the boss is applying to you, and [27:15] then you could basically just run free [27:17] for the rest of the intermission. It [27:18] completely trivializes that mechanic. [27:21] And then you can kind of just keep your [27:22] eyes up and look around for grips to [27:24] help people as well. I do run the talent [27:27] Save the Day for pretty much everything, [27:29] and I would recommend running it all the [27:30] time because helping people on Crown of [27:32] the Cosmos with their movement, helping [27:34] somebody who's out of position, uh and [27:36] then of course having your grips for the [27:38] crystals on Midnight Falls uh is [27:41] insanely valuable. I'm able to grip a [27:42] third crystal thanks to Time Spiral. So, [27:45] Save the Day gives me a second, and then [27:47] Time Spiral gives me a third cast of my [27:50] grip. And so, that's how I'm able to [27:52] just do all of that. So, those are my [27:54] tips for Discipline Priest in season [27:56] one. Let me know if you guys have any [27:57] other sort of questions in the comments [27:59] back down below.
