[00:00] than at any other point over the past decade, into my digital minimalist phone setup what hasn't and how I try to use these tools [00:16] Emphasis on the word try. More about how I built my new website with them in a minute. I have an iPhone 13 mini, [00:30] So unpopular that they've actually While it might not be a crowd favorite, I've never been a fan of the ever-growing sizes [00:42] and when the mini option became available, I was stoked. I can reach my thumb all the way across the screen Even better, a smaller screen means [00:55] I rarely use it to stream shows, watch videos I think the bigger that my screen would become, Now instead, I mostly use it as a practical tool. [01:10] starting with the dock at the bottom. I like it because of its simplicity. and create other tasks for things like books. [01:27] for my personal tasks as I've moved that I'll talk about in a minute. Whenever I come up with an idea, I'll jot it down [01:43] I've been using this system of organizing my notes for years and so if it's not broken, I'm not gonna fix it. thanks to the next two apps. [01:57] so I can pay for nearly everything I need to and right next to it is an app called Service NSW. that allows me to store a digital version [02:12] So now that I don't need my credit cards, I don't need to bring my wallet with me, So there are really two different types [02:25] Those that keep their alarm app tidy and psychopaths. As you can see, this is my phone, beautifully organized She is a psychopath. [02:38] you may have seen a video that I recently made about that, to remind myself of meetings and phone calls. and hey, would you look at that? [04:06] Nat and I actually turn on rain sounds has a really great one that works for us. like Casey Musgrave's Golden Hour [04:22] The tracks go on for an hour plus I've also been known to fall asleep - Ah, you gotta stay relaxed. [04:38] You can see some of the music I've been listening to lately. and of course, the lofi beats playlist here. [04:51] check emails and do other work related tasks. across a couple apps here, Messages, WhatsApp, I really love the Phillips Hue light bulbs. [05:06] but the light bulbs themselves are awesome. and they help me dial in the perfect intensity and color. when winding down to go to bed. [05:21] I've recently started to track a lot of my biometric data. my heart rate and my sleep. to track my weight and body fat percentage [05:34] all of this data into an organized layout. My steps could definitely be improved I started to track as much of my biometric data as possible [05:50] One of the main ones was that since I do to see how my biometric data changes [06:02] and so I wanna see how my sleep changes and how my weight changes and all those things in between and I also just want to see what tracking alone does. [06:15] over the course of, say, a year, or will it generally stay the same? via this app called Daylio. [06:29] I think about my day, jot down a few notes about how it went I've been keeping this up for a while now [06:41] I think it's gonna be a really fun video. to see more about how all of this tracking is going for me The next two apps are for work, [06:56] to help me with my courses and content and so I had to really think hard across three different countries. [07:10] Tons of organizations use it and many of you We've got a number of different channels from our YouTube course to snail mail newsletters [07:24] My business definitely wouldn't be as effective without it. and this is where I have moved all of my work tasks to. [07:37] So I moved from a personal to-do list to Asana, Everything that I do impacts other people on the team, and sub-tasks, everyone can see what I'm doing, [07:53] It allows us to collaborate and communicate together towards specific projects. of the apps on my phone, [08:08] This is definitely an essential app that I want to keep a record of, it automatically cleans up the image [08:22] Arc II is a filmmaking app that I use for my slider, where the camera is moving while I'm on camera, [08:34] as well as my Rhino Arc II slider. for filmmakers, but it's pretty cool. tap start on my app and grab the shot that I need [08:50] Since I almost always film by myself, One tool that I found that was really helpful was the Sun Tracker AR app. [09:03] Since natural sunlight was super important for us, When we were at an open house, we would open up this app from sunrise to sunset. [09:18] that I have on my phone are the ones that I don't have, I haven't used Facebook in years. more than 30 minutes browsing TikTok. [09:33] so I've almost completely cut it out of my life. In the past, I've had YouTube, Netflix and I do download them when I travel, [09:47] and only stream on our TV or one of our laptops. If there was one app that I spend the most time on, These days, you might find me browsing Reddit [10:02] a couple hours every day in zombie mode, And that's how I keep my phone as simple as possible. [10:15] I don't often experiment with new apps, that I should really try out that's helped you a lot, and see if it's worth adding [10:27] to my very small list of apps on my phone.
