whether small streamers will finally have a chance, whether Twitch has gone wild with all the new updates... Here we'll see if all this is true. Here we'll see if all this is true.
Well, kids, here's... and welcome once again to a new Twitch video, because it was about time. And I'm going to quickly put you as I mentioned in a previous video, at the recent Twitch event in
Paris, the Twitch team announced several updates that were supposedly going to greatly help all streamers grow, including small streamers. And while information was given and promises were made,
many details weren't revealed until now. Today, my dear viewers, we're going to delve into these topics. We'll go into more detail on some of the previous video. We'll also talk about the new updates and
see if it's true that this will help the community, because even though the that it will, as they say in my neck of the woods, there's a big difference between saying and doing. Let's start with a recap of everything... Regarding what happened on Twitch with Paris, the first thing we have
here is that they're going to present an improvement to the clip editor. In case you didn't know, since May of this year, Twitch has upgraded and improved the editing of clips directly from the app or the website. You know, in
vertical format, not the trendy one, and you can even export them directly to your this, things are going to get even better because by the end of August of this year, it will be possible to export them directly to TikTok. And this is good because, for the
simple but powerful fact that it's a reality, clips can help you a lot to get more viewers on your live streams, and the fact that you can do this directly with TikTok is, I think, a late but good move because,
ultimately, the most popular platform in the world right now is TikTok, and the fact that you can natively edit and export your clips, if you will generate many more opportunities to be discovered and
even go viral. So, well, the presentation of Discovery Fit, paraphrasing the text that We have on screen Twitch saying that after the community has been nagging them for so many years to do it, they're finally
Basically, it's like TikTok. The people at Twitch are telling us here that they're going to show users a personalized selection of clips, or rather, an algorithm. The users can discover streamer channels that might
interest them. The idea isn't for people to just sit around watching clips like they do on TikTok or YouTube Shorts, but for people to discover you through these clips so, as I said, they'll come to your streams. Discover Fit will be launched on Twitch in the fall of 2023.
your streams. Discover Fit will be launched on Twitch in the fall of 2023. know, to test and optimize it. Those we don't know yet will probably be a random group. I think the idea, the intention
behind creating this Discovery Fit, is pretty good, as long as it's implemented well. What I mean by this is that the algorithm the platform uses shouldn't favor popular streamers, that it should be something that... I
really hope that both big and small streamers can get a lot out of it, and that's this tool will only work for top streamers and that, as has unfortunately happened over the
years, small streamers will be left behind. But well, that's just an estimate that I hope doesn't happen. I want to believe, I want to trust that they can do it well, even though history tells us otherwise. But let's stay positive. Something
platform, and that also took a long time to arrive, is Stories. That's right, just like you saw them on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook, well, they're coming to because this is exactly the same as the stories we see on other
platforms. The only difference is that you can choose whether your stories go to all your followers or only to your subscribers. This week, launching in October 2023. Well, one more reason to convince people to
subscribe to your channel. I think new alerts to incentivize and reward your channel. Well, we already knew this: Twitch natively launched its own Streaming Elements and it's actually pretty good. I have a video about it if you
to launch more customizable alert options: alerts for channel points, alerts for a specific action you choose, options to customize emotes, and more updates of this kind that will be
weeks. Here I have to say, good point for Twitch because this level of alert customization isn't even available in Streaming Elements, at least not at the time I recorded this video. Only Twitch has this. The second-to-last point we'll
see today is more control over ad breaks in your streams. Twitch says, "And this year we 've focused on creating more lucrative, less intrusive, and easier- to-manage ads." Yes, of course. The people at
streamers more control and not ruin the stream experience for their viewers, they've created the Chat Countdown indicator. This is an optional feature that exactly when a commercial is about to start so they can
... The purpose of moving the commercial forward or back is viewer's experience. This is in case there's a really epic part of the stream, so the streamer can either move the ad forward or back and ensure that the
epic moment isn't interrupted by a tampon commercial. This new update will be rolled out this July. Okay, personally, I would have liked them to do something that actually helps with commercials.
Because both streamers and viewers know that even if you set a show whatever it wants. everyone. Now let's move on to the last topic that concerns us today, because content rating tags will
be mandatory for all streamers. stream about what they and their communities are passionate about, as long as
any of our guidelines. But this doesn't mean that content that does n't violate the guidelines isn't for everyone, and this is where ratings come in. Depending on the theme of your stream, you'll select one of
the categories: Rated Game As mature games that are classified as major or not entirely suitable for a younger audience, that is, games that are M-rated, which are almost all good games, gambling, participating in
betting, poker, or fantasy sports online or in person that involve the exchange of real money, people addicted to gambling will have their own category. Maybe if they had done it before, it wouldn't exist now.
Violent and explicit images, simulations and/or representations of realistic violence, bloodshed, extreme injuries or death, basically the Word. Drugs: intoxication with alcohol or excessive tobacco use,
glorification or excessive promotion of tobacco, use or consumption of any type of marijuana, intoxication caused by legal drugs and alcohol, conversations about illegal drugs. This would be the category of people who do booze
pro-cannabis podcasts, or people who sound like chimneys when they are live streaming. Sexual topics, content that focuses on sexualized activities and physical attributes or sexual themes and experiences
very repeated pro-obscenity, profanity, and vulgarity, especially as something habitual, that is, 99.99% of all the On Twitch streams, if you select a game with an ESRB Mature rating as
your stream category, the "Matheur" label will Twitch uses ESRB ratings to determine if a game is considered mature for viewers worldwide. Here's an example. To
change your stream category, you need to Creator Dashboard, then to Stream Manager, and then to
Edit Stream Info. Remember, this depends on how you have it set up. Scrolling down, you'll find the Content Ratings section, and here you'll select the
mentioned before, this will be mandatory starting July 20th. Finally, what's my opinion on this? Honestly, I think Twitch is taking true that many of these updates should have been done two years ago,
but better late than never. I really think that... This can help small communities. I want to believe it can if they implement it well, especially the discovery feed algorithm.
I think it can help deserving people rise in the rankings, but I also have a fear. Historically, all the updates Twitch has made of this type usually help the top, most popular people. I hope that's not
the case, I really hope not. But as I said, we already have some background information, so if you think about it, here's my advice: what will it be, as always? entertaining content so people want to watch you. Remember that just because you're
something anyone could do, doesn't mean you deserve viewers. So take advantage of these tools, especially the direct export to Shorts or TikTok. I think that's great. And well, keep working,
create opportunities for yourself, because there's no other way, friends. And with that, we finish liked, found useful, and informed. You know that you can ask me any questions comments section, on my social media, or directly on my Twitch channel, where I'll be happy to answer them. Hey
