[00:02] pretty interesting I want to give you the top five tips that I learned along the way to help me reach affiliate status on Twitch in my first 30 days so hang out for a minute stick around that's all coming up next [00:17] stick around that's all coming up next [Music] [00:34] might be trying to reach affiliate status like I was and when I looked on the internet there was tons of information out there that would give you tips and things that helped you try to grow and get the views and get the [00:47] followers that you need to get to its affiliate status so in case you don't know the major things that you have to reach on Twitch to be able to get affiliate status or you got to average three concurrent viewers that means on [01:00] average you have three people watching you at any given time and you also have to reach 50 followers so these are just a couple of things that I learned and I tried with different tips and tricks that other people had that these are the [01:13] things that really seem to help me out so we're going to start off with tip number one coming at you so the first tip that I would give you and that you're going to hear a lot of people say it's consistency so what does that mean [01:26] it's consistency so what does that mean for me that meant posting a schedule and then sticking in that schedule so what you need to do in the beginning is maybe try a few days that work with your schedule whether that be work or [01:38] whatever other social aspects of your life you have going on you want to work interrupting those things throughout the week and have to change your schedule so for me like I did it in the evenings because I work through the day so in the [01:51] evenings and then I pick days that I didn't generally have things going on so the first thing I would do is set a schedule that works for you and stick to the nice thing about a schedule is once you do get this thing wrong it lets the [02:04] people that wanna watch you know when they can watch you they can get on they can see your schedule and then that way they know when to come back so a big thing to do is have a schedule - you need to post that schedule make sure the [02:18] schedule is posted underneath your stream you know so if somebody clicks on your channel and you're not live at that moment they can look at your schedule and know when to come back and find you you also have an offline screen on [02:30] information and they're actually making some changes that will let you have like a trailer type video where you can also give that information so watch for that in the future on Twitch they already made mine but it hasn't [02:43] gone live yet so what they do is let you make a 60-second video it kind of introduces your channel and such so that'll be a good place to put that schedule but my first tip I would give you is be consistent be there on time [02:55] you is be consistent be there on time and be active and do everything on the schedule so that way your people know when they can come and find you tip number two to help me out a lot was realizing that there's no reason for [03:08] your stream to be sitting at zero viewers so what does that mean well as you know twitch is very hard for people to discover your channel especially since it's based off how many viewers you have at that time so as a new [03:23] streamer you're not gonna have a lot of viewers so what that means is if you're all the way down at the bottom of the page which makes it really hard for people to find you so here's a tip to help you get from that zero you should [03:37] help you get from that zero you should never be sitting at zero one you can always pull up your stream on another device like your cell phone or something and what that does is that gives you another viewer so that puts you at one [03:51] right there and a lot of streams even having one viewer move you way up the page the second thing you can do to help this is make sure to get your friends and family and other people that you know that you're close with to say hey [04:05] your help maybe you can just pull it up on your phone you don't even have to watch it a whole lot but just gives you that extra viewer because the more viewers you have the further up that page you're going to [04:19] be to where other outside people are gonna discover your channel so like I said tip number two would be there's no reason to be sitting at zero viewer you see it all the time people just sitting there with zero viewers not moving [04:32] so one watch yourself to get other people within your house your family and whatnot to pull up your stream and watch it so that gives you viewers and then hit up your close friends and tell them what you're doing and you get them to [04:46] you move up those viewers tip number three that really helped me out when I was building was getting involved in other people's streams so what I would do is I would go to games that I was streaming at the time and [05:01] looked for other channels that had low viewers like my channel did and I would somebody that I was really able to communicate with and that was engaging and just kind of get to know them and get to know their community and then [05:14] what that does is as you get to know their community they're gonna come and help support you along the way so what does that mean that doesn't mean going to their chat and just be like hey come check out my channel blah blah blah know [05:27] what you want to do is engage with these people talk to these people and then kind of get to know them you know I went to some of these channels ahead you know 20 viewers and more and I say hey what are you doing that helps get your [05:39] with and they would give you some advice guy's starting a new channel and then you could get talking about it and then people would offer support so don't go in and just start spamming people to [05:53] just makes you look like a jerk and nobody wants to help you like I said really engage with these people and get to know these people and what that's done has helped me 1 make new friends but then I also got [06:07] people that come to my channel from those channels that really helped me grow and get to the followers and stuff that I needed because like I said you those 50 followers and get people that actually come and engage in your channel [06:22] outside of your circle so I've met people from all over the world by doing this so it's a great way to help grow your channel in the beginning meet new people and be active parts of other people's communities so that would be my [06:35] tip number 3 is get involved in other people's channels and help each other grow each other's community along the way tip number 4 me would be don't worry just about the gear in the beginning it's hard it's [06:51] really hard for me because I want everything to look as good as it can and the sound as good as it can but what's really gonna help your channel grow in the beginning is engaging with people in your chat is gonna be being entertaining [07:04] on this screen and having that personality that people want to be around if you don't have the best mic or the best camera or the best lighting setup in the beginning it's not a huge deal because you're growing your channel [07:16] and people understand that but what people won't do is that they click into you're doing and you're not engaging with the chatter you're not talking to people then they're not gonna want to be there I did that myself as I was saying [07:30] in tip number three when I would go to other people's channels if somebody talking their people I would hop right out of there so for me that is a big tip is make sure you're engaging with your chat and make sure that the people that [07:44] are there you're giving them your attention you know they're there to watch you play game and a lot of these people are here just to engage with the community I've always said with my friends that to me this seems the whole [07:56] twitch thing to me seems like the old-school chat rooms except there's something for people to watch so you know it's like a chat room and think of it that way people want to engage with other people that's why they come to [08:09] these things so make sure you're engaging with your people and make sure that you're giving them a reason to come back and to follow your channel so that would be my tip number four okay guys we've made it tip number five and this [08:25] is a huge tip for me guys is you have to make sure that you're having fun on your stream if you're not having fun then how are the people that's coming to watch you gonna have fun you know in the beginning and I know this because I went [08:40] through it when you don't have hardly anybody watching or maybe even nobody anybody watching or maybe even nobody watching it's hard to have fun and engage and do the things you want to do there are tons of ideas of things that I [08:52] have that I want to do but there's times that I don't have the people in my channel consistently enough to be able to do those things so you got to grow as a person and realize hey this is practice right now you might only have [09:05] three or four people in your chat this is a good time to practice on building that personality finding out what works to get engagement from your community so for me number five is just have fun you've got to do this for fun if you're [09:20] not having fun doing it you're not gonna keep doing it that's a huge tip for me guys okay guys there you have it those are my five tips the things that helped me grow and reach affiliate status in my first [09:33] 30 days on Twitch so like I said you've got to be patient you got to let these things happen but you got to put in the work to like said if you do these things they really helped me reach that point in the first 30 days also you can use [09:49] these tips on whatever platform you're using and they will apply the same so whether it be Facebook or YouTube or whatever you're streaming on mixer you can use these things to help grow your community and that's the main thing is [10:01] you got to grow your community over time it's not just gonna happen overnight that you're gonna blow up and even I'm still a very very small streamer and in no way am I pro stream or anything but I'm just saying these things helped me [10:15] reach that point and now I'm looking to keep growing and reach the next point you know and get my community rolling so if there's any other tips or any maybe you've done that's helped you out comment those down below and then also [10:30] if you don't mind don't forget to like the video and subscribe and hit the bell notification so that way you know when I put up a new video so guys I appreciate you watching and - maybe you want to know about some of the different gear [10:44] do some of those videos in the future so if you have those questions drop them below as well but thank you for stopping by I hope this video helps you in some video and if you want to stop by the stream I [10:59] stream on Twitch
