[00:01] >> or dietary supplements. >> But right now, a new category is quietly exploding on ClickBank, and you're going to want to know about it. Just take a look at these gravity scores. [00:15] volume, paying out numbers like $30 per sale, $50 per sale, even $100 per sale. But here's the kicker. New affiliates with few or no prior sales have actually offers on ClickBank. This category is called performance e-commerce, physical [00:30] products sold with direct response style marketing. And in this video, I'm going to break down exactly what performance e-com is, why it's working so well right now, and how you can start promoting these offers for massive paydays. By the [00:42] way, I'm Daniel Thrasher, senior content manager here at ClickBank, and I guys working with performance e-com offers here, so you're getting the true inside scoop. Now, I'm going to show you how to promote these products soon, but [00:55] performance e-com is and why it's working so well. The performance e-com advantage. So, performance e-com sounds like a really complicated term, but it's squished together. On one side, we have performance, as in performance [01:09] marketing that most affiliates are using when they promote ClickBank products through power channels like paid media and email. The key with performance how your campaigns are performing, namely sales. So, if you don't make [01:22] sales, you don't get paid. Now, let's talk about e-commerce, or e-com for short. This word is a huge term that basically encompasses all online sales anywhere on the internet, from Amazon to Shopify to Etsy, and yes, even to [01:36] ClickBank, qualifies as e-commerce. But for our purposes, most e-commerce experiences are light on selling. You'll have a branded page, maybe a product description, a bulleted list of features, and an add to cart button. [01:49] so to make up for that, brands have to invest heavily in expensive brand marketing to win the association with a particular product. Think Nike with shoes or Coca-Cola with beverages. So, where performance ecom comes in is in [02:02] blending the two worlds. You're still selling hard to get a sale now, but products. So, one of the companies ClickBank has partnered with for performance ecom is Orbio World, which is a half-billion-dollar company. [02:15] Don't you want to be? So, performance ecom is looking really good and we're really excited about it. In fact, the ClickBank marketplace just added an entire category specifically for e-commerce. So, before we move into how [02:28] you promote performance ecom to start stacking those commissions, let's look at a few quick examples of these offers. One example is the Dorilla Ergo pillow, which solves neck pain with a weird-looking ergonomic design that [02:40] Pulsetto, which is a stress relief device that feels futuristic, which makes it perfect for curiosity-driven ads. And we have the Persaki Berberine patches, which deliver powerful plant extracts and key vitamins to boost [02:54] metabolism, energy, and healthy fat loss without pills. What can we compare these to? If you've ever heard of infomercials or as seen on TV-style products, like an OxyClean or Ginsu steak knives, that's kind of like these ecom offers. They're [03:08] thinking about or thinking that they need, but once they see them, it's attention even in a busy social media feed. Traditional direct response versus performance e-commerce. Now, if you've promoted other products on ClickBank [03:22] compare and contrast the old way of selling versus this new performance e-commerce type of selling. So, for types of offers on the DR side, think physical consumables, and also [03:35] performance ecom side, we've got physical non-consumable. Business the one side versus brand-based on the other. For a sales approach, it's more about promoting a solution for direct response versus promoting the product [03:50] brands. In terms of the lander or the landing page style, for direct response, a video pre-sell teaming up the VSL tends to work best [04:02] versus more of a roundup style advertorial for the performance e-commerce side. For traffic channels, direct response is great with Meta Ads, YouTube Ads, and email. And you compare that to [04:15] performance e-com traffic sources like native ads, paid search, and TikTok ads. differences so you can find out what it means to succeed with performance e-com. First, let's talk offer types. Under the performance e-com umbrella, most [04:28] physical goods. We're talking about knives, pillows, gadgets, and even the health offers under performance e-com generally aren't consumed. They're things like that Persac Berberine patch [04:40] orally. But again, what really sets performance e-com apart from traditional direct response offers is that they're a brand, and their sales page tends to be a hybrid of an e-commerce product detail page or PDP and the DR style pitch page [04:55] ClickBank products, the ones that feature either a video sales letter or a stats you'd see from a top product in each of the big ClickBank offer types right now. For a Let's take a digital offer, we have something like the Genius [05:09] Song, which is a $53 average payout with a conversion rate of about 2% and an earnings per click of just over $1. And then, Gorilla Ergo representing performance e-com is a $49 average payout, conversion rate of 2.5 plus [05:23] percent, and an EPC of nearly a $1.50. And then, we have a dietary supplement Prodentim, which has an average payout of $158 on a conversion rate of 0.43% and an earnings per click of 69 cents. So, as you can see, generally speaking, [05:37] supplement, but you also get lower conversion rates with those. Digital they'll have a much higher conversion rate, sometimes two to three times that of supplements. And then there's a new sweet spot with the performance e-com [05:51] category. Similar payout value to ClickBank's typical digital offer, but at a peak conversion rate and earnings per click. Obviously, there's no noticing how well these standout performance e-com offers are doing on [06:04] ClickBank right now. One other important point to consider, performance e-com products tend to be less aggressive than some direct response offers like dietary performance e-com category isn't focused on consumables, it's also less difficult [06:17] a headache for many affiliates, especially the ones who run meta ads traffic. So, as I'll cover in a minute, there is no lengthy VSL or a super which may be better for compliance and also just a better fit for the way some [06:32] affiliates want to promote products. If you combine all this, from affiliates about refunds and chargebacks. So, if that's something performance e-com may also be perfect for you. Number two, funnel comparison. [06:46] differ between traditional DR, like a supplement or a digital offer, compared to a physical e-com offer. On the DR side, usually it goes something like a meta or YouTube ad pointed to an affiliate pre-sell page that tees up a [07:00] VSL pitch page. But for performance e-com, it looks like a native ad or maybe a PPC ad that points to an advertorial, often a round-up style of a bunch of different products, that points to a hybrid sales page. It's worth [07:13] exploring how these differ and the best way to approach both. So, what's traditionally worked in direct response is grabbing people's attention and then promoting a solution to a pain point, but leaving all of the selling to the [07:27] letter that was produced by an A-list copywriter. And you may have noticed big fear angles with this approach in the past, like one famous dramatization of a his family to get customers to look at a weight loss solution. This kind of angle [07:43] to grab people's attention for a direct affiliates will lean into a unique mechanism that stands out through weirdness or curiosity. Like Meticore's purple pill exploit or Java Burn's [07:56] 7-second morning ritual. The rule with DR is lead with curiosity, hook by agitating a pain point, and direct traffic through your affiliate tracking And this is usually a video sales letter [08:09] sometimes even longer. Potential customers would learn about a unique offer that could solve a pain point they cared about, and then they go on to buy DR. Now, how does performance eCom [08:21] differ? For one thing, performance eCom is a lot more brand oriented. Products like Derila Ergo or Pulsetto have a name that people can remember, research, and you can actually lean into selling the product itself. Crazy. Our old advice [08:35] with traditional DR has always been to sell the click. In other words, don't really talk about the actual product or its features and benefits in your ad or in your landing page. Instead, you're just going to warm people up enough to [08:47] funnel and click through to the sales page, which is where the real selling may actually benefit from teasing the product by name and feature, especially pre-lander, more on that in a minute. Another thing that's unique about these [09:01] products is where you can promote them. Native is huge for performance eCom, and so is paid search, i.e., Google Ads. For these ones that you wouldn't really hear offers. And of course, you can still promote performance eCom products on the [09:15] same ad platforms that you were doing with supplements or digital offers, Meta and YouTube Ads. Many of these offers even come with CPA available, so that about refunds. And we're also hearing through the grapevine that TikTok Ads is [09:29] a solid platform for performance e-commerce affiliates. Now, with all of promote one of these new types of affiliate offers? Let's talk about it. Number three, how to promote eCom. Let's take another quick look at the [09:42] typical funnel for an eCom offer. You have something like a native ad to a roundup style advertorial page to a hybrid sales page. So, filling in the gaps on these, let's start with an example of some native ads on espn.com. [09:55] That can easily point to a performance eCom gadget or a health product like we've been talking about. I've actually gone into depth on how to create native ClickBank's favorite native ad networks. [10:07] So, check the description or we'll link to that at the end of the video if you ads. Now, when it comes to pre-landers for performance eCom, keep in mind that you're generally not pointing traffic to a VSL anymore. If a sales page has a [10:20] video, it'll probably just be a few minutes, and you'll notice that the rest of the page is designed to look more like a PDP, a product detail page, which is like a traditional e-commerce page. So, even though there's some selling on [10:32] a hybrid pitch page, you have more leeway to share information and start to persuade people to buy the product before they land there. And that is why the advertorial format is so popular. These are articles, and they're often [10:44] category, each of which has their own affiliate tracking link. So, here's an example of this for Gorilla Ergo. And then another great option is a quiz lander, which asks a few questions and then routes people to the right product [10:58] of a stack of different things for them to pick from, you are sorting them after there's an affiliate link waiting for them at the end to point them where they have to go. Here's an example of the quiz lander with Persako Berberine [11:13] So, quizzes and advertorials are both fantastic pre-lander formats for visitors are coming from a native ad, because it's all about congruence. Remember that people who see the product advertised on a native ad and then get [11:27] sold on it through your pre-lander will already be warmed up and ready to buy speaking of sales pages, here are a few examples of those. So, just like with to get to know the audience you're targeting and understand the pain point [11:41] that your solution will address. But, when it comes to affiliate resources, from the seller about the actual product. Things like UGC B-roll, 3D animations, all sorts of landers. It's awesome stuff. Ultimately, you decide [11:56] how best to promote these performance e-com products, but you can see there it. Okay, I know I've thrown a lot of new information at you in this video, so I've made the case that performance e-com is an interesting new category to [12:10] explore, but is it right for you? Here are a few ways to know. First, you want a non-consumable physical product to promote. Two, you're looking for a cleaner, less aggressive type of offer to promote. Or three, you want to ride [12:24] the latest growing wave. And if you're still on the fence, just keep this in mind. Our top sales guys told me are perfect for beginner affiliates because performance e-com is just a lot easier to promote than traditional DR offers [12:37] with long VSLs. But, on the other side of the coin, big media buyer agencies are also moving in this direction with entire divisions focused just on e-com offers. You should note that their KPIs and strategies are very different from [12:51] kinds of offers we've seen on ClickBank, but suffice to say there's a lot of growing interest in e-com. In fact, one sales guy told me that a big media buying agency client of ours out of Miami is seeing much lower CPMs and CPCs [13:06] with these e-com style offers even with identical targeting. So, whether you're a brand new affiliate or an experienced media buyer with a team behind you, the performance e-com category. Luckily, ClickBank makes this easy.
