## Transcript

Grand Theft Auto 6, Marvel's Wolverine,
Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time remake.
These are just the tip of the iceberg of
titles that are slated to come out in
the second half of 2026. September alone
has dozens of exciting releases that
we're eager to try out. You yourself may
be trying to pass through which games
should be at the top of your mustplay
list. So, as such, we pulled the
GameSpot staff to lock in our most
anticipated titles for the rest of the
year.
Brought to you by Xbox.
There are a number of people on staff at
GameSpot that really dig 2021's Kenner
Bridge of Spirits, the action adventure
title from Ember Lab, the first game
from a studio known for doing animation
work in the ad and film industries prior
to its release. As such, the game
sequel, Scars of Cosmora, was on many of
our most anticipated lists. This sequel
will take protagonist Kenna to the
mysterious island of Cosmora, where she
will partner with new spirit companions
to harness the powers of the elements.
Not much is known about the game, and we
don't have a firm release date beyond a
general 2026 window, but when it does
release, it will be a PlayStation 5
exclusive. Never bet against From
Software. After some initial skepticism
around last year's Elder Ring Night
Reign leading up to that game's release,
a ton of team members really connected
with it enough to get it in our top 10
of 2025. With that in mind, we're hoping
that the Dusk Bloods with its PvPVE
gameplay will be just as surprising.
Players will become a supernatural being
known as a blood sworn of dusk. They
will then drop into matches with up to
eight total players to compete for the
title of first blood. The maps for the
game will be an amalgamation of
different time periods, making for a
unique hodgepodge of different
aesthetics. While most matches will be
determined by the last player standing,
different actions will award players
with victory points, which they can then
use in the hub world to purchase
upgrades for their character. The Dusk
Bloods doesn't have a release date
beyond the window of 2026, but will be
receiving a closed network test this
summer. And when it does eventually
launch, it'll be a Nintendo Switch 2
exclusive. We might know next to nothing
about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of
Time remake, but we're excited for it
nonetheless, considering the original is
frequently cited, including by many at
GameSpot, as one of the best video games
ever made. How does it differ from the
original? Will it feature new mechanics?
When exactly does it come out? These are
questions we're dying to know the
answers to. But so far, all we know is
that it will come to Nintendo Switch 2
exclusively at some point in 2026.
Any new game from Pokémon developer Game
Freak is bound to grab our attention,
but there's a lot that we've seen from
Beast of Reincarnation that piqus our
curiosity even further. Set in the
far-flung future in a post-apocalyptic
Japan, where a blight has infected the
flora and fauna of the region. The fate
of the country lies in the hands of
Emma, who can cleanse the blight by
sealing it in her own body. Her journey
will push her to face the titular beast
of reincarnation, the source of the
blight. Wielding a katana against those
that oppose her along her path. In
addition to real-time sword combat, the
game will feature abilities via Emma's
companion coup that slow down time when
sorting through them. Allah, the Final
Fantasy 7 remake series. Between its
gameplay, setting, and the development
studio, we're fascinated to find out if
Game Freak has another hit on its hands.
Beast of Reincarnation releases on
August 3rd for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series
X and S. Untitled Goose Game was a title
that captured the hearts of many on the
team when it released in 2019. So, of
course, we're excited to see what its
developer House House has in store for
us with Big Walk, a multiplayer title
that has players taking control of
cartoon characters as they navigate a
realistic looking open world based off
of a national park in Australia. Big
Walk is a game about discovery. Players
can work in up to groups of 12 to solve
various puzzles scattered throughout the
world with novel ways of communicating
that make this look like the next big
friend slop title. Complimentary Big
Walk is coming to PC, Mac, PS5, and
Nintendo Switch 2 on August 4th. It's
safe to say that if Faraxis were making
a new XCOM game in 2026, it' be featured
on this list. However, a Star Wars
tactics game from former Fraus employees
has us just as excited. Set during the
Clone Wars, players can take control of
a customizable character known as Hawks,
who commands a variety of other
characters on the battlefield to face
off against numerous threats. Players
limited by how many action points they
can spend in a given turn. Players can
also customize their own Astramax, which
will provide support during encounters.
And depending on how said encounters go,
characters can be gravely injured or
even die with the story adjusting
depending on how things play out. Star
Wars Zero Company will be releasing on
August 27th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series
X and S. Many on the team at GameSpot
are fans of Hazellight's co-op only
titles such as It Takes 2 and Split
Fiction, so naturally we're highly
anticipating Orbitals, a throwback to
the anime of yesterday year that
features similar gameplay from a studio
headed by former Hazelite staffers. Two
players will take control of Mari and
Omura, two young galactic explorers that
must save their space station from being
trapped in deep space. Like the Hazelite
games, the players will utilize numerous
different mechanics and gadgets to solve
a variety of puzzles, platforming
sections, and combat encounters.
Orbitals will launch exclusively for
Nintendo Switch 2 on September 3rd. Like
many, multiple GameSpot staffers are
huge fans of Insomniac's Spider-Man
titles. So, of course, we're eagerly
anticipating the studio taking a stab
literally at Wolverine. Set in the same
universe as the Marvel Spider-Man games,
Marvel's Wolverine establishes the fact
that in this world there are no X-Men.
Instead, the clawed mutant is a part of
a rag tag group known as Team X that
looks to protect other mutants from the
few humans that are aware of their
existence and are out to eradicate them.
While there are no X-Men, other
characters from the comics such as Gan
Gray, Saber-Tooth Mystique, and others
will be making an appearance. Marvel's
Wolverine will be an utter gorefest with
interesting mechanics that revolve
around the character's healing factor,
making it a rather large departure from
the Spider-Man titles. Wolverine will
launch exclusively for PlayStation 5 on
September 15th. While many on the team
adore Fire Emblem 3 Houses, those same
people also feel as if the following
release in the franchise Engage was a
step back for the series. As such, we're
hoping that the upcoming Fortunes Weave
takes some big swings like some of the
most memorable games in the series. Set
in the same world as Three Houses,
Fortunes Weave follows four characters
as they compete in a tournament known as
the Heroic Games, where the winner will
be granted a wish. Between matches,
players can spend their time recruiting
new allies, exploring dungeons, and
fighting NDwells across the Dagdan
Empire. Then, players will throw down in
the games, leading armies of their
collective forces against other
competitors in the hopes of being
crowned champion. Fire Emblem Fortunes
weave will release for Nintendo Switch 2
on September 17th. There seems to be no
stopping the resurgence of the Silent
Hill franchise with the critically
acclaimed back-to-back releases of two
remake and F in 2024 and 2025,
respectively. Can Konami go for the
hat-tick with this year's Silent Hill
Townfall? We at GameSpot are itching to
find out. Set in the fictional misty
town of St. Amelia in Scotland in the
mid '90s. Townfall follows Simon Ordell
who must uncover the secrets of St.
Amelia as well as his own secret
connections to the location if he hopes
to escape from it alive. Played from a
firsterson perspective, Simon will have
limited combat opportunities. the game
revolving more around his ability to
avoid the hellish inhabitants that have
set up shop in the town, as well as
using a handheld CRTV to help solve
puzzles and keep an eye on the various
monsters he can encounter. Silent Hill
Townfall will release on PC and
PlayStation 5 on September 24th. The
next game from Remedy Entertainment
actually received the most votes out of
any other title for our most anticipated
game among staff that were pulled. And
perhaps that's no surprise when the
studio's first two entries in its
connected universe, Control and Allen
Awake 2, both made our top 10 games of
the year in their respective release
years. In this sequel to the 2019 title,
players will take control of Dylan
Feden, brother to Jesse, the protagonist
of the first game. Unlike his sister who
stepped into the oldest house and
wielded the ranged service weapon
against the invading Hiss, Dylan will be
stepping out into New York City with the
melee focused aberrant. Not only does he
have to find his missing sister, the
director of the Federal Bureau of
Control, but he must find a way to
prevent Manhattan from folding in on
itself thanks to an alternate
dimensional leak from the FBC's
headquarters. Control Resonant will be
available on PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox
Series X and S also on September 24th.
Not only has it been 20 years since the
last Animia game, but 2026 has been a
banger year for Capcom releases from
Monster Hunter Stories 3 to Resident
Evil Reququum and Pragmata. Therefore,
we're eager to find out whether the
publisher can go four for four with
Onimusha Way of the Sword. Way of the
Sword follows Miiamoto Mousashi as he
battles against demonic forces in Kyoto
during the Edeto period. Mousashi can
then absorb the souls of those demons
with his gauntlet after cutting them
down with his sword with different
colored souls having different effects
such as replenishing health or executing
certain attacks. Onimusha Way of the
Sword releases on September 25th for PC,
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and
Nintendo Switch 2. After integrating the
storied franchise into the critically
acclaimed roglike Dead Cells with the
expansion Return to Castlevania,
developer Evil Empire is getting a full
vampiric bite at the apple with a brand
new entry in Konami's long-standing
series with Castlevania Belmont's curse.
The game is centered around Rose
Belmont, daughter to Trevor Belmont and
Cipher Belnades, two of the leads of
Castlevania 3, as well as the animated
Netflix series. Set 23 years after the
events of the third game in the
franchise, Dracula's castle descends
upon Paris, and it is up to the young
Belmont to wield her father's whip in an
effort to defend the city. It's been too
long since we've gotten a proper 2D
Castlevania game, so we hope getting
some of the best rogue light architects
in the business to develop it fills our
insatiable hunger for such an
experience. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse
comes to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and
S on October 15th, with a Nintendo
Switch version slated for release at
some point later in the year. While GTA
6 came second to Control Resident in
terms of most anticipated from our team,
of course, this potentially
groundbreaking game was going to be on
most of our lists. GTA 6 brings the
franchise back to Vice City and the
wider state of Leonida with players
taking control of two protagonists,
Jason and Lucia, as they navigate a life
of crime. While we know about others in
the main cast, as well as the regions
we'll be exploring in the game, there's
very little officially known about what
improvements we can expect from its
gameplay and if we can expect any calls
from our cousin to go bowling. But
needless to say, we're champing at the
bit to learn more, as are hundreds of
millions of other people on planet
Earth. Barring another delay, Grand
Theft Auto 6 will release for
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on
November 19th. And those are GameSpot's
most anticipated games for the rest of
2026. Of course, there are numerous
other titles releasing, many we're also
excited about, but these are the 14 that
were on a majority of lists. For
coverage around all these games and
more, stay right here on GameSpot.
