[00:01] 15,400 pounds. The man who was so happy kept shouting "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!" and so on. That's the power of supplication. The story is that there was a sheikh who, one day, was leading the people in prayer—he was leading them in the Isha prayer. He was sitting between the Adhan and
[00:17] Iqamah when he heard a man sitting to the side, praying and crying intensely. He kept saying, "Oh God, what should I do? Oh God, I'm finished! Oh God, I'm ruined! Oh God, save me! Oh God, from the situation I'm in!" He was crying loudly. The sheikh, being curious, wanted to know the man's story, so he went to him, patted him gently, and
[00:30] said, "What's wrong, old man? You're crying and saying things that made us all cry. What's your story?" The man replied, "By God, Sheikh, my wife is supposed to have an operation tomorrow, and it costs 15,400 pounds, and I don't have a single pound of it."
[00:44] When the imam heard this, he didn't know how to help him; he didn't have the money to old man, sit and pray to God and cry to Him, and God willing, He will answer." The sheikh said, "I was sick, so I prayed the Isha prayer one day." He said, "What? I slept in the mosque until the Fajr prayer." So he slept. And
[00:58] wife was supposed to have surgery in the morning, also slept in the mosque. Then, about half an hour or a quarter of an hour before the Fajr prayer, he found people waking him up. His sheikh said, "Get up so you can lead us in prayer." He sick." So they said to him, "No, you have to get up and lead us in prayer, it's not possible otherwise." So
[01:13] the man got up to pray, so the sheikh got up to lead the Fajr prayer. They performed ablution and prayed the Fajr prayer. He was sitting there after the prayer when he saw a man, God bless him, wearing very expensive clothes. The man came in and greeted him very warmly, "How are you, Sheikh? How are you doing?" The sheikh replied, "Praise be to God. Who are you?" The man
[01:27] said, "I am so-and-so, the one who was..."  I attend your lessons in several places, meaning several mosques. And, by the grace of God, I just bought a new apartment above this mosque on the third floor. As soon as I heard your voice, I recognized it, so I went down and prayed Fajr. He said to him, “By the grace of God, I was looking for someone
[01:41] trustworthy to give the amount of Zakat that I collected throughout the year to. Even my wife told him to give it in pairs, but I told her no, I will give it all at once so that I may relieve one person’s distress, and God will relieve my distress on the Day of Resurrection.” So the sheikh asked him, “ How much is your Zakat?”  He told him 15,400
[01:54] pounds. The sheikh looked around and saw the man whose wife was supposed to have surgery tomorrow, still asleep. So he called him over and said, "Come here, old man. What did you tell me a little while ago?" Sheikh, I told you my wife has surgery tomorrow and I don't have the money to pay for it." The sheikh asked, "How much did
[02:07] you say it cost?" The man replied, "15,400 pounds." The happy man started shouting, "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!" and so on, and he shouted loudly. He got up and hugged the other man, and all three of them started crying. One was crying because he hadn't expected the money to come, and the other was crying because his
[02:19] wife had been telling him to divide the zakat into installments, but, by the grace of God, he had gathered it all at once to give it to one person. The sheikh was crying because he had seen both sides—he had seen both. Look at God's plan! When you hear a story like this, you
[02:33] might...  You might be surprised and not believe it, but that's the power of prayer. When God understands, He fulfills, and the verse is power of prayer. When God understands, He fulfills, and the verse is clear: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you."
