tomorrow but it's a day of love

let's watch some romance anime guys yeah
that's definitely not a recipe for
disaster there's just no possible way
it could be that's it my mind is made up
the rest of valentine's season will be
spent watching
romance anime as far as the eye can see
no matter the time period
no matter the amount of episodes and no
matter the quality
i will consume nothing but romance anime
what could possibly go wrong
um perhaps drowning myself in a genre
surrounded by a sensation i have not
felt in some time was not the best idea
however uh given that i have now
consumed dozens
upon dozens of hours of romance anime it
appears that i am now an
expert of some sorts and on this road to
romance anime expertise
i noticed a certain trend that would
rear its ugly
and rather unfulfilling head every now
and again a trend that i believe pulled
the title
for worst trope in all of romance anime
what could it be
what's he going to say what's going to
come out of that mouth of his

the lack of a kiss shared in some of
these animes is the stupidest thing
i ever did see you know what i'm talking
about and you know what i'm getting at
you find a new romance anime to watch
and really sink your teeth into
and you're having a ball the characters
are great they're having heart-to-hearts
what they're doing is never boring it's
looking to be an anime you'll remember
years from now you've reached the final
episode the two main characters are
standing on top of a hill with the moon
in the distance they're staring into
each other's soul perfect opportunity
for a kiss here it comes baby this is
why i wake up in the morning it's right
there this is what we've been waiting
for
so let me get this straight you build up
the viewers anticipation for 12 episodes
maybe more and you don't even pull the
trigger because you don't have the balls
to do it is that it
do the people who do this just like
being worse than hitler
you know what that that might be pushing
it but they're still monsters
the clip you just saw was from rascal
does not dream of bunny girl senpai a
beautiful anime with an even more
beautiful movie highly recommend it
you watch these two slowly fall in love
over the course of 12 episodes and it's
handled
really well it's written well and you
really feel the connection and bond they
form across those 12 episodes
then you get to the last episode and it
pulls this crap it's not the only anime
to pull that as well
hag and i love tunibio and other
delusions sakuratsu no pet not konojo at
least when referring to the main
characters and those are just the ones
i've seen because i know for a fact that
there are
tons more you know how unsatisfying and
anti-climactic it feels when they do
this
it sucks it'd be like traveling halfway
across the country
because you heard someplace in idaho had
god like french fries and when you get
it
it's like fancy restaurant portions
where they give you a cup
with like seven fries and they charge
you 38 it's
so underwhelming imagine if this crap
was pulled in
any other genre like imagine if in the
incredibles i know it's not anime
but bear with me at the end instead of
bob chucking the car at syndrome's jet
he just kind of slips into the turbine
or instead of vader
finally overcoming the dark side and
throwing sidious down the chasm
he just trips bro imagine if you were
playing modern warfare's campaign and
shepard dies off screen
you just get told that over radio or
something or you're about to face the
champion in pokemon and they're a
complete pushover you know what uh
with x and y you know bad example but my
point still stands to build up a
relationship
for however long the anime is and then
not have it end with a kiss
it should be a crime all right no before

why why do they do this so let me just
do some research here

cultural thing kissing and other forms
of physical affection
aren't as prominent there as they are

a better way to show couples
