[00:17] >> [laughter] >> I hate how good this is, bro. Like it is just Mushoku Tensei moves me in ways that honestly not many anime series can do. Because what do you mean you have an
[00:32] entire episode just basically slice of life, family bonding, going fishing, having a birthday party, and it has me breaking down like a child. Like I dude, breaking down like a child. Like I dude, this is actually just What an emotional
[00:47] seriously, hands down, I'm not going to lie, top three, maybe top five best episodes of the series. Because this this episode is so important. It's so vital for one massive reason. It is the culmination of everything. The journey
[01:05] and everything up to this point. Because like for like years, the family was split thanks to the mass teleportation event, find everybody. He was trying to find the family, get them back together. And
[01:19] after all these years, they're they're finally back in the home. Obviously, being one of them. But they're they're finally back. And this episode is more finally back. And this episode is more or less trying to close the page on the
[01:32] last chapter. For instance, of the mass teleportation event, try to push forward and build a future of happiness. And this is just such a beautiful episode, because like what do you mean you're having this whole episode where like you
[01:47] see Zeniff actually show emotion. Like she Like dude, this scene is just Oh my got to look at this real quick. Like she legit starts smiling. It is so
[02:05] a lot, but it does mean something. And like, let let's explain. As we know, Zeniff she lost everything. She She basically has nothing. She She's kind of like a husk. But, you can see that with this brief interaction, there
[02:19] is some inkling, some remnant of Zeniff still inside her, the old Zeniff, the mother. She is still there. We have seen slight signs here and there, but you can clearly see it just with her showing a
[02:32] smile, putting her hand on Aisha and Norn's head, and basically congratulating them for a happy birthday. It's very beautiful. It's very birthday. It's very beautiful. It's very subtle. And my god, like the the
[02:45] soundtrack of this scene hard like it doesn't hard carry cuz everything is working together in great, you know, efficiency. But, the soundtrack for this sequence is just so freaking godly because it really just sets up this
[03:01] homey, family vibe, and just like that there isn't all doom and gloom and negativity. There is some positivity within this world. This is just such a beautiful episode. And it's just It's
[03:13] not even that. It's like the entire segment with them going fishing. Like, this this entire situation here is super beautiful because like you get to see to see that this is the first time the family's gone out on a fishing trip.
[03:28] obviously is pretty good at it as we've seen. Rudy has no idea what he's doing. you have Roxy that knows a little bit. So, like there's a lot of little things characters are being able to interact with each other in a new situation that
[03:43] they're not used to. Everything about this fishing trip just feels super organic. Like, if for instance, I I think everybody if you've ever been on a fishing trip and had like family moments and stuff, you could definitely feel
[03:56] this entire scene as something it feels immersive. It feels yourself there. Like it feels exactly like what you would expect from a it's beautiful, man. It's really
[04:10] than bonding with family over an activity of the outdoors and going fishing and stuff. And I think that is what makes this scene so precious. And Mushoku Tensei is just so successful because like it does stuff that isn't
[04:23] fundamentally the um the stereotypical of like this storytelling. And obviously Mushoku Tensei is an old series. It's kind of stuff and all that with the current clichés and tropes. But
[04:38] but Mushoku Tensei, it doesn't just focus on action and just adventure. There is a lot of Truth be told, family life and slice of life in this story. Like it's been present since the very beginning. And I
[04:51] aspects of this because you see the characters grow, they age, they learn, they make mistakes, they improve, they don't improve, they regress, they different things that represent life itself. And I think that's what makes
[05:06] this just such a beautiful show. And this episode so beautiful, too. Because made their own little mistakes here and there. And they're all trying to get day by day and make the most of what they have in life. And I think that is just
[05:19] like I said, it's beautiful, man. Mushoku Tensei is just one of those Mushoku Tensei is just one of those shows, man, that is just put it in my top five favorite anime of all time. It is just that good. And it's
[05:34] just like and there's so much I could talk about when it comes to this series, just this episode. Like There's one thing I do want to point out. There is some cut content actually in this episode. And
[05:46] content actually in this episode. And that is this situation with Rudy, Sylphy, and Roxy where they go to the hotel together. Now, to be completely blunt, there is definitely additional content in the
[05:58] that kind of dives a little bit deeper into these details of what actually happens and the activity, so to speak, with the characters. And yes, it does straight up happen. But, uh I, you know, didn't expect them to show anything,
[06:11] truthfully, like fully anything. But, I'm glad to see that they still added this scene because obviously it showcases that uh they are trying things. You have literally a threesome going on here that's it it's implied,
[06:24] but it happens. It does. It Read this segment in the light novel if you're curious exactly what fully happens. But, uh I got to say, like I really appreciate the above and the beyond that this studio, Studio Bind,
[06:36] does for this series because like there's little things that this series does that really just adds a lot of emotion to everything. Like, I want to talk about like Sylphy for a second. Like, Sylphy has moments in the episode
[06:49] ears twitch. And this is something that happened already in season 1 and season 2, but those little additional animation movements, obviously, it might seem very subtle and nothing too grand, but when you think about like the effort, like an
[07:04] animator went in and purposely added in little movement of Sylphy being able to twitch her ears and move them slightly. It adds a lot more life to a scene, immersive. It doesn't make her feel very static in certain situations. And I
[07:16] like cool. Like, there's there's so many scenes that add on to that because of like little animation tricks they do to add more immersion to individual scenes. I mean, Roxy as well, like I I love Roxy's eye shifting throughout the
[07:31] episode, and I feel like this is one of the harder things to do, especially in a moving anime, is to get the eyes to tell so much emotion while also not having any dialogue. And I feel like Roxy, she's the type of character that you can
[07:44] see a lot on her face just from her eye movement than anything else. Because most of the time when you look at Roxy, she's a very stoic not fully stoic, but she is very like stone wall faced most of the time. She changes expression, she
[07:59] can blush, she smiles, she frowns and stuff, but she has this static time. But you can see the way her face looks like with her eye movement, you wants. And I feel like that's like the big thing here when it came to like the
[08:12] hat. Obviously, it was very intentional showcasing the hats, you know, wear and tear, but like I feel like the scene with her eyes and the way they move really emphasize like truly how she is feeling about a scene, how sad she is
[08:24] about something or depressed. I feel like it just there's a lot of emotion you're not paying attention to it. I mean, stuff like this just really goes above and beyond to really just make an episode better than it already is. And I
[08:37] we got the magic utilization as well, which I think is really cool. Which I think this is a funny segment that actually want to segue into. So, what I find so funny about Rudy using like electricity and lightning to hit the
[08:50] electricity and lightning to hit the water and catch fish, it is such a it is such a funny moment because you know for a fact if someone had the ability to use magic, if they had the ability to do what Rudy just did, they
[09:03] would probably do this. Like let's just be honest. Like especially if money was involved or whatever, you probably would do that to catch a lot of fish. I mean, movies and stuff where someone puts like electrical lantern or something in the
[09:16] rise to the top. This is basically the magical equivalent of that. And I just I plays into some of those type of tropes, but also shows how like competitive Rudy
[09:29] he didn't want to lose the eye shine stuff. It was very petty. I I I think it's just it's it shows once again these little flaws and little character traits that they have between each other that really goes the extra mile to expand
[09:42] the characters. Um Also, I really think too, if there's another additional thing I want to add on to this episode is that I love that they managed to honor Paul's wishes,
[09:55] like his late wishes. Because like before he passed away, he wanted to throw a big party for, you know, the family. I mean, they weren't together for a very long time. And obviously, there was a lot of birthdays that were
[10:07] and tenth birthday were missed. They're a very special time you're supposed to be able to have celebration and stuff. And basically, they didn't get to have that. And I'm glad Rudy was able to uphold his promise. And also, he very
[10:20] likely used the very money he received in the last episode thanks to the whole stuff of Paul to be able to even pay for this. And I think that is very beautiful. It showcases that Paul in some shape or form is still helping out
[10:32] the family despite him being long gone and no longer there. He is there in spirit. And I think that's beautiful. It's it's just There's a lot about this that just feels so real. It feels realistic. It feels raw. It's
[10:46] It feels realistic. It feels raw. It's raw emotion that this episode gives. And I mean, I I There is a few things I do want to mention which it comes to want to talk about her for a second because obviously, this scene is pretty
[10:58] because obviously, this scene is pretty interesting controversy and drama that Mushoku Tensei has been getting itself into. So, slandering Mushoku Tensei calling the author a pedo and everything like that.
[11:12] You want to know how we know they don't watch the show? If they did watch the with this character. You want to know why? Because here, you know you watch the show. She is someone that literally has
[11:25] like probably thousands of body count in terms of just how many people she's slept with, okay? And uh we know it's because of her curse and all that and that's how she has survived. But the point though is is that her this entire
[11:38] segment here with her basically wanting to get an aphrodisiac and give it to Cliff, you know, her husband she marries in this episode to be able to basically in her own words, she loves the thought of what he might do uncontrollable like
[11:51] a beast and ravage her pretty much uh is pretty freaking wild. It's a wild thing and especially when you just see her start to actually drool after this the thought of it. It's like this is how you know the people that are hating on
[12:05] MT, they don't actually watch the show. Like this is definitive proof here character a lot. Now, there's another element. It let let's just say they do reason why they don't comment on this is because women being like this is not
[12:19] problematic to them. It's only if guys do it, so to speak. That is um most likely the case if they have watched the show. But uh yeah, I think in general just what an episode, man. Like top five best episodes. Like it is
