## Summary

In this live stream, the Screen Crush panel dives deep into the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, analyzing the latest trailer, TV spots, and rumors. They discuss the return of Savage Hulk, the role of the Department of Damage Control (DODC) as a potential anti-mutant force, and the mysterious character played by Sadie Sink, widely believed to be Jean Grey. The conversation also covers possible villains like the Jackal and Mr. Negative, and how the film sets up the MCU's Mutant Saga and future events like Secret Wars.

### Key Points

- **Savage Hulk Returns** [06:19] — The trailer shows Savage Hulk rampaging, with an inhibitor wristband that breaks. The panel debates whether the inhibitor controls the transformation or if mind control (possibly via Jean Grey) unleashes the Hulk.
- **DODC as Antagonists** [14:48] — The DODC agent in the trailer is identified as William Mezer (via subtitles), an anti-mutant protester from the comics. The panel theorizes that DODC is being set up as a villainous organization that will hunt mutants, possibly with Val and Tombstone as middlemen.
- **The Hand and Prison Break** [24:57] — The Hand appears in a prison where Matt Murdock (Daredevil) is held. The panel speculates that the Hand and DODC may be working together, or that the Hand is breaking in to free someone (likely Sadie Sink's character).
- **Sadie Sink as Jean Grey** [32:50] — The panel agrees that Sadie Sink's red-haired character is almost certainly Jean Grey. They discuss how her mutant powers (telepathy/telekinesis) could be used to mind-control Hulk and others, and how she might be the one who remembers Peter Parker's identity.
- **Secret Villain: Jackal or Mr. Negative?** [45:37] — Tom Holland hinted at a secret villain. The panel considers Keith David as the Jackal (Miles Warren), who experiments with DNA and consciousness transfer. Another fan theory suggests Mr. Negative (Martin Li) as the mind-controlling mastermind.
- **Future MCU Plans** [56:57] — Rumor leaker Alex Perez teased mutants, Shadow King, Mr. Sinister, Nova, symbiotes, and the Judgment Day event. The panel is excited for X-Men villains beyond Magneto and hopes for a proper Venom adaptation.

## Transcript

Let's rewind. Rewind.
Welcome back to Screen Crush Rewind. I'm
your host, Ryan Ery. We are back. We had
to take a break. We've been doing some
other stuff. I saw Supergirl yesterday
and I really, really liked it. I don't
know if critics are going to like it
because I think they're tired of
superhero movies, but I do think critics
are really going to like Spider-Man:
Brand New Day. It seems like everybody's
going to like it. Everything we've heard
about the movie so far sounds amazing.
And look, commenters, I know we're two
minutes late, but I was here. Someone
else was late, and I'm not going to
embarrass them or their audio problems
by calling them out right now. So, thank
you guys for waiting today. Me and our
panel of special guest, experts, and
friends are going to talk about
everything everything we know about
Spider-Man: Brand New Day. We just got a
second trailer. We covered it last week.
We weren't able to do a reaction because
a million things are happening at the
same time right now, but we're going to
talk about the fallout from that
trailer, every reveal. The villain still
up in the air. I don't know if it's
Satie Sync or what the hell they're
doing. So, we're going to get
everybody's opinion on that. And there's
villains we haven't even seen yet that
are confirmed for the movie like
Tombstone. So, we're also going to talk
about what their role could possibly be
as well as all of the hints about
Daredevil appearing in the film. And one
other thing, we're also going to talk
about some of the reveals from the press
tour. And also, Alex Perez, who is a a
bountiful uh feast of rumors about the
MCU, had a a recent tweet that I hope we
have time to talk to you guys about
because there's a lot on there for
phases 7 through9 post multiverse saga,
which frankly I bet we're all excited
for. But I'm done talking. I want to
bring on other people. First of all, you
know him as the guy who is always on
break, Mr. Tommy Beck told. What's up,
Tommy?
>> Janet, there's nothing in the employee
handbook about banning katanas. The
sword stays. Ryan, how are you?
>> I am great. And also, I want to point
out, uh, maybe our next guest can vi in
can, you know, chime in on this. Um,
that if that katana is a piece of your
ancestral heritage, you could probably
claim its use at work under religious
grounds. But to make sure about that, I
want to bring on our next guest. You
know him as Doug's attorney, which makes
him one of the hardest working men in
show business because Doug is always
dealing with lawsuits. Mr. Mike Misella,
what's up, Mike?
>> Yeah, hold on one second. Janet, hold
the rest of my calls and tell Doug I
won't be able to bail him out until I'm
done with this live stream, but I'll be
there soon. Sorry, Doug's in the again.
>> Oh god, Canon just blew up. Are you and
Tommy working in the same office? And I
didn't know this.
>> You know, Janet's a very common name,
but yes, we are working at the same
office. We are
>> same. It's an abandoned weird
There's two Janets, but it's a Janet W.
It's the one.
>> I don't know if you guys did either of
you ever have the pleasure of working in
a wei work.
>> I I did spend a week in a wei work. I
spent a
>> we work week.
Was it a temp job or what was your deal
with?
>> There was a creative uh startup in Los
Angeles that lasted one week.
>> That makes about Yeah, it sounds about
>> And then they said, "Hey, nobody needs
to come to work on Monday."
We work was great if you ever wanted a
place where you could get free bags of
beer because they had kegs that were
just like these sacks that they put in
there like like distilled sugar like
soda water. Well, anyways, uh I want to
bring on our last person. You guys, he's
an old friend of the channel. You know
him as the person who's trapped in our
TV but doesn't know it. So, please don't
tell him. Mr. Colton Auburn. Hello,
Colton.
>> No, Janet. I will not go to Cheesecake
Factory with you. Hello. What? Ryan, can
I just say I think it's really rude that
you called out Mike about having his
camera issues and I was gonna say before
we got started
>> for being the first person here. Mike
was in the green room before me. God
knowing knows what he was doing in there
by himself, but he was in the green room
before me.
>> I'm always I'm in the blue room, so I
don't know what you guys are going
>> I'm in the back room.
>> That would actually be a good set now
that I think about it. I have a green
screen I can pull down. I can put the
blue tape on it. Hey, I I don't want to,
you know, we're here to talk about
Spider-Man. I do want to point out last
week we were really hoping to do a
Disclosure Day video. I didn't see the
movie in time. I finally saw it. What a
piece of [ __ ] I really didn't care for
the movie.
>> We did do a disclosure day video.
>> We should just do a Yeah, we should just
do a live stream on it. It's a couple
weeks too late, but who cares, right?
We'll see how it does.
>> We did a disclosure day video.
>> I know. We as a channel did We didn't do
We were going to do a talk about it. I
know. Believe it or not, I keep up with
the videos we put on the channel.
Colton,
>> you said we were going to do a
disclosure date video, but we didn't.
>> Yes, I meant a live stream. I meant a
live stream.
>> Gotcha. We were
>> Oh my god. We are We are bleeding
concurrent viewers right now. This is
This is tragic. This is the saddest
thing ever. No, what I I thought it was
too many movies in one and I could have
done away with spoiler alert the whole
middle act. I don't want to get too far
into that. But Tommy, you liked it?
>> I I I enjoyed it. But I will say that it
was one of those movies that by the time
I mean I saw it I think opening night
but by the time I had sat in the seat of
the theater I'd heard adequate [ __ ]
on the movie not that you did but by
other people that I just kind of was
able to enjoy it for what it was which
was like a Spielberg movie. I liked the
cinematography in it. I thought it was
way too long. I thought that some of the
messaging in it was really cool. I
thought the woman who played the anchor
at the end of the movie did an
incredible job. Uh, I also think that
with when she's like reacting live to
disclosure happening to her.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
>> I thought she did a really amazing job.
>> I just couldn't believe they pulled a
crystal skull and it was aliens at the
end. [laughter]
>> All right. I don't want to get too far
into that because like um like you said,
Colton, maybe we can still do a
Disclosure Day video. You didn't say
putting words into your mouth. Yeah,
let's do it. In fact, we're gonna change
the thumbnail right now and just talk
about Disclosure Day. Just kidding.
>> I'm gonna go watch the movie. I'll come
back. Oh, please do. Please do. I would
recommend um bringing a lot of snacks
because it is a long movie.
>> Please stop making the Disclosure Day
sounds. It's unsettling. It's it's it's
unsettling. All right, guys. So, last
week we did not get a chance to talk
about the brand new day trailer. Uh
because like I said, lots of stuff going
on. House the Dragon coming out Monday.
I saw Supergirl yesterday, so I couldn't
do the live stream.
>> Um but I got a lot of stuff to talk
about in this. So, first of all, we have
the Savage Hulk, right? Savage Hulk is
back. So, I'm curious what you guys
think about what happened to Smart Hulk.
Why is it suddenly Savage Hulk and why
was the roo the wristband necessary for
holding him back? Anyone who wants to
chime in, go for it.
>> Did you guys see? So, in the trailer he
appears green, but then Sony released
like a social of the same shot of Hulk
falling from the building and he looks
gray.
>> Nice. Typical Sony.
>> Typical Sony.
>> Real tight ship they're running over
there.
real tight [laughter and snorts] [ __ ]
>> You know, Ryan, I could see um I could
see that that like you know, the
inhibitor or whatever it's called that
that gets destroyed on like
I I could see it being accidentally
destroyed by by Peter Parker or
something like that, a mishap
>> because they needed to bring back Savage
Hulk. Like that to me like one of the
least satisfying things about the MCU is
that we didn't have not had enough of
Hulk in his like uncontrolled form. like
they almost not immediately but they as
soon as they made him Smart Hulk it was
like this is just what we're getting
from now on. So
>> I'm uh excited for that.
>> I feel like they're kind of they're kind
of redoing what they did in Age of
Ultron, right? We've already seen Hulk
mind controlled and like losing it and
going absolutely bananas. Um and I like
I wonder how it's going to be any
different from that Hulkbuster scene
that we saw in Age of Ultron. aside from
the fact that Peter doesn't have an
Hulkbuster to use.
>> Um, but the other thing that I'm
wondering too is like, okay, Bruce, if
this inhibitor is like literally the
lynch pin between you being a normal,
rational hero and you becoming an allout
rage monster that is liable to hurt
people around you, why haven't you made
this thing stronger? Like you would
think after the car accident in She-Hulk
that he would be like, you know, maybe I
should make this device that is super
super important a little bit durable.
>> Obviously, we don't see how it ends up
getting smashed in the trailer, but it
is smashed and broken. And I'm wondering
like
>> does Gan Gray mind influence Banner and
get him to break it or what?
>> I think that's what happens. I think I
think he turns into the Hulk under her
influence or someone else's. That's the
other thing I was thinking too, like
we'll get to Gene Gray in a second, but
I wonder if it's not obviously she's not
the villain. I think they're they're the
villain secret. They're teeing us up to
think she is. I think she might be mind
controlled in that moment by somebody
who wants to use her power, which
obviously has happened to Gan Gray a lot
in the comics is how she turned into
Dark Phoenix. Go ahead.
>> Why is it so fragile? Couldn't Bruce go
to the Wakandons and be like,
>> that's what I'm saying. I think I think
the Hulk broke it. I think the Hulk
broke it and not Bruce. Sorry, Colton.
Go ahead.
>> Here's what's weird though about the
inhibitor. We we were introduced to the
inhibitor in She-Hulk and all the
inhibitor does is allow Professor Hulk
to transform into human form. Initially
when they introduce the inhibitor, it
has nothing to do with the mind of like
Savage Hulk. So theoretically, when when
Bruce removes his inhibitor, it just
makes him turn back into Professor Hulk.
So, I I don't know if they're changing
that in Brand New Day or if we'll get
like a line that explains because just
because the inhibitor gets broken that
that shouldn't make Rage Hulk come out.
That should just make Professor Hulk
come out.
>> That's a good point, Colton. I wasn't
thinking about that. Thank you for that.
>> Well, let me let me bring this out there
then. Maybe here's what the deal is.
Maybe when he says that to Peter in the
trailer when he goes, "This comes off,
watch out." He's kidding.
>> Yeah, he's just screwed
>> because Yeah. Yeah. He because he knows
he knows that he's Professor Hulk. But
the reason Savage Hulk comes out, and
Mike, I think this dubtales perfectly
with what you were just saying,
>> he's influenced by whoever the mind
controlling villain is to become Hulk,
and then the inhibitor is basically
useless.
>> Yeah. Yeah, I agree. Yeah.
>> So then the other thing,
>> like I said earlier, how does this
differ significantly from what we saw in
Age of Ultron? Like is it still just is
he struggling with it? Do we see him
fighting with it? Or is he just a
monster? Well, I don't know that in Age
of Ultron, we just did a video on this.
I don't think Wanda mind controlled the
Hulk. I just think she showed him some
vision of the future that was really
scary to him. And again, we did a video.
>> Yeah, we did a video like earlier last
week about this. But
>> in Age of Ultron, personally, I think
she showed Hulk a vision of a life where
he was trapped in the back seat, which,
you know, Colton, you've done a video on
it. I've done videos on it. I think
that's exactly what Bruce did to him in
becoming Smart Hulk. And I think that's
why when Savage Hulk comes out, he could
go on and become a villain, like a
straightup villain in the next saga.
>> Do you guys think that he is being
control by whoever the mind controller
is, whoever's using Jean's powers? Do
you think they are actively mind
controlling Hulk like we've seen them do
others or they're just I feel like
they're just releasing him and I think
he's going to have every right to be
pissed because he's been held dormant
since
>> Infinity War or since Endgame,
>> like those five years. Yeah.
>> Yeah. The five years in between Infinity
War and
>> Yeah. Well, in the trailer when we get
that line that's like, "But he can."
It's from Bruce's voice.
>> That's what leads me to believe that
he's being mind controlled. And then
also that is a nice parallel of Thor at
the end of Ragnarok being like, "I know
I can't beat you, but he can, and
>> I think that he's mind controlled to
unleash the Hulk." And then I hope the
Hulk is out because that's one thing I
would ask you guys. So,
okay. Again, Colton, you've done videos
on this, so I know what you think. Like
the Age of Ultron was our last Hulk
movie. He's really been and because of
the rights issues where Universal has
the per rights I guess in perpetuity to
make a solo Hulk movie, but Marvel can
only use them in teamup films and the
the underperformance of the Incredible
Hulk at the box office. We haven't
really gotten an arc for Hulk. It's sort
of like Thor where there are these two
really powerful guys. They just keep
getting used for whatever the plot needs
them to do or the writers have to find a
way to limit their capability. Like we
haven't actually seen straight up Hulk
since Ultron. Yeah. And I don't fear it
becoming repetitive like with Age of
Ultron because I I think we're about to
not see Bruce Banner again for a while.
I think kind of like what you went into
in that that one video. I think it's
about to be all Hulk all the time. I I
think we are about to get like a
Greyhulk or a Maestro.
>> They could be setting him up as a
potential foe for post Secret Wars. Uh
>> I hope so. World War Hulk.
>> God, I hope they do World War Hulk. I I
hope that the reason that he's not
announced for Doomsday is because maybe
in uh Spider-Man Brand New Day, we see
him get shipped off or something. Then
again, they kind of already did all that
in Ragnarok, he shipped himself off. So,
you do want to be careful about how you
repeat it. But
>> do you feel like
>> Oh, sorry. Go ahead.
>> Do you do you think Marvel like, you
know, famously demanding that Tony
Stark's face be shown in the Iron Man
suit for no reason would do that would
like continue to have a Hulk with no
Bruce Banner with Mark Ruffalo? Do you
think like that star power isn't as
bright as Robert Downey Jr. So they're
more apt to have him be Hulk an entire
movie or
>> Well, he looks just like him. Like they
make him look just like Ruffalo.
>> I think would like I think Mark Ruffalo
would jump at it a chance.
>> I agree. I just wonder I wonder if I
wonder if Disney famous for kind of
playing it safe over this last decade
would be like, "Well, we can't not have
Mark Ruffalo."
>> But he's I don't think he's going to be
like just that, you know, like in
Endgame. He's like, uh, he's pretending
to be Hulk. I don't think it's going to
be a lot of that. I think you were on to
something with in that video about it
being like a maestro type Hulk who
>> we had Bruce Banner say, I combined the
brain and the brun where like he, you
know, it's kind of like he's doing the
power and the mind.
>> We could see kind of a flip where it's a
more like it's Hulk, but he has the
intelligence of Banner and he's using it
almost like a power. Yeah. In the same
way that Banner just did to the Hulk,
where for years Banner was using his
strength, maybe the Hulk can then use
his mental acuity and his strategy and
his brilliance. That would be an
amazing. So then the Avengers are not
just trying to stop the Hulk, they're
trying to save Banner,
>> right? Yes.
>> I would love that. Mike, you were you
about to say something? I'm sorry.
>> Nope.
>> Okay. Sorry. So there is an interesting
thing here. We've been throwing out for
a while that the control collars that
they used to control mutants in Days of
Future Past and on Janosha could be
adapted from the same technology we're
talking about. We did a whole video on
this. A lot of you guys have seen it.
Thank you for that. Um, you know, damage
controls in this movie. We've also
theorized that damage control could
become the Department of Mutant Control.
>> Here's the interesting thing about this.
the Treml Tilman who's playing the the
head of damage control in this movie.
They have not officially released his
name, but then in the trailer again Sony
letting stuff slip by. In the subtitles,
they do call him Mezer, who is probably
William Mezer, the anti-mutant
protester. So, do you guys think one,
are they setting up damage control as an
antagonist to mutants? And two, why are
you excited about that?
>> I'm just learning that. You can tell I I
really read the show notes thoroughly. I
I I've been thinking he was Mezzer, but
I I didn't know that that slipped
through a subtitle. That's I didn't
either. Shout out our producer Ethan
Inc. for catching that and putting it in
our rundown. Thanks, Ethan.
>> I Yeah, I just did a whole video uh last
week or was it earlier this? I don't
know. It all blends together.
>> It was last week, I think. It's
about DoD being like the the villain of
the mutant saga. Yeah. So, I 100% think
that they are like doing what's it
called? false flag operations like where
they are creating damage for them to
control. They're going to make mutants
look bad. Yeah.
>> So, question that that's like a full
heel turn from the comics though because
like the Department of Damage Control
isn't like a completely villainous
organization in the comics, right? Like
it's kind of more of like a cleanup. No,
there it's more of a funny comic and it
is a good it's a good book, but like
when they showed the Department of
Damage Control in Homecoming, Tandy
Newton was playing um
>> not Tandy Newton, I forget her name, but
Ty Daly was playing the head of who
looks exactly like the character who
runs it in the comics. So, it seemed
like they were setting them up for this
ABC damage control spin-off that they
shot a pilot for.
>> I'm glad they went another way. They've
basically been antagonistic since No Way
Home, and I think that's great.
>> But I I like I like it better. Yeah, I
like it better if they don't know that
they're the bad guys. Like if they if
they're an organization that thinks that
they're protecting the world from
dangerous mutants. Like I think it I
don't want them to be fully villainous.
I want them to be like all good villains
and think that they're
>> too like that is all a result of Tony
passing away too, right? Because Tony
started the department of damage
control. We learn in I believe Civil War
that DODC is a joint venture between
Stark Industries and the US government.
And so Tony was more or less the the
head of that in leading the efforts to
clean up after battles, protect
civilians, and with him gone now it's
like they have lost their direction. And
so they have all of this funding from
the government. They have a mandate to
keep people safe at any cost. and they
no longer have a person on the inside
with the insight into the world of uh
metahuman, superpowered people, whatever
we want to call them, enhanced
individuals. They don't have a person
there that can be like, "Hey, let us go
ahead and maybe try and talk to this
person first before you storm them with
sonic cannons." And that is why it has
taken such a sharp turn is that they
think they're honoring Tony's memory,
but they're really taking it too far and
going to become more authoritarian. And
I think you're exactly right, Ryan. This
is going to become the organization that
is tasked with hunting down mutants.
>> And Val's probably behind it, too. I
think Ox is involved, has has a profit
motive. You could bring in Striker, have
him be involved. There's a lot of really
cool stuff you could do with it. Yeah,
>> I think the Striker role might be I if
if Striker is in this, he might be what
he is in the comics, which is like like
an evangelist who hates mutants, because
then it allows you to attack that from
the religious angle. And then Mezer
might be your more military person.
>> But then again, depending on what they
do with Wolverine, and that's it. We're
not on it's not on our list for today,
but like X-Men casting news is, you
know, kind of getting leaked here and
there and it seems like they're u based
on rumors going to do the Hellfire Club
as the villain, which I think is a
perfect choice. Um, and again, if you're
talking about Jean, here's, you know,
the one of the most important Hellfire
Club storylines is when mastermind
manipulated her consciousness and that
unleashed a dark phoenix. And maybe the
same kind of thing happens in this movie
where the shadow king or whoever the
villain is who's taking people over kind
of can open up some kind of darkness in
her. I don't know. Are there any other
things about the Department of Damage
Control where you can see them in other
aspects of the MCU? Maybe is this kind
of like behind the scenes villain that
maybe builds? We've already seen them
build up. I mean, and from No Way Home
to Ms. Marvel, that's a pretty big
escalation for them. Are there any other
avenues or paths you guys can see them
like in phases seven through nine
becoming more antagonistic?
>> I think they cause
>> Oh, go.
>> Go ahead.
>> I was just going to say I think they
caused the second civil war. I think
that it's going to be I I talked about
in that video that and I won't rehash it
too much, but I I think Val is going to
like make this argument that the problem
with the Skovia Accords was it was too
like government controlled and she's
going to say the the private industry
needs to get involved and we we know
that she owns the the new Avengers team.
So then you have like government
approved privatelyowned military
contract type superheroes and then you
have the vigilante superheroes and you
have registration and you have
anti-registration, mutant registration.
And I I think that you'll have certain
heroes falling on either side of that
and it could cause Civil War II for
sure. something that I think they need
to do in the mutant saga because I Civil
War II could also be mutant centric like
we've talked about before on the streams
about they could take that inhuman
character I'm forgetting his name that
can read the future have that be a
mutant and have them fighting over you
know how to use that power and the the
punishment coming after the crime. So
yeah, I think I think they're going to
be like a
backbone. I don't know if backbone would
be the right word, but I think you're
going to see DODC in like every corner
of the MCU serving as like this this
villain of sorts. And maybe not like a
maja villain, but just like something
that every hero is running into like as
an obstacle,
>> you know, and we assume, Mike, I'll get
to you in just a second, but we assumed
for a long time that the mutant saga was
going to build toward the Dark Phoenix
saga and go cosmic. It may be more
earthbound. It may actually be more like
the recent Avengers versus X-Men
storyline where um they clashed over you
know this girl named I'm not going to
get into the details. They clashed over
a girl named Hope. But basically at that
point the X-Men were living on Janosha
trying to build a mutant society after
the massacre of Janosha happened that we
saw in X-Men 97. So it could be that. It
could be I think what they should build
toward is Avengers versus X-Men. To me
that is like the pinnacle of what
everybody's been waiting for since they
saw the Avengers. Go ahead, Mike. I'm
sorry. I was just going to say we saw a
little bit in Wonderman about kind of
the internal politics at the DODC and
that they have this mandate to fill that
supermax prison in California. You're
talking, you know, a couple phases
ahead. We might get to a point where the
DODC is struggling to justify its own
existence. And in order to do so, maybe
they do some um back rooms, you know,
off the books programs to try and create
more enhanced individuals so that they
have a purpose to exist and then maybe
it goes wrong and then there's too many
enhanced individuals and maybe that's
how we get the Inhumans like it's like a
Terrain Miss thing. Like if you played
the really awful Avengers video game uh
that came up a came out a while ago, the
Square Enix one, that's kind of what
happens. There's like a like AIM uh sets
off like a terrain bomb that basically
like gives a ton kills a bunch of people
but then also gives a bunch of people
powers turning them into inhumans. Um we
could potentially see something like
that later on down the road. Uh or the
DoD trying to create its own enhanced
individuals to fight back. Um which is
something that we've seen that Val is
inclined to do like with uh the new
Avengers. Well, you know, it's funny
because uh the the opening montage of
Spider-Man brand new day, we presume
it's the opening montage where he fights
like tarantula and boomerang and all
these other people is giving us one
thing the MCU hasn't really had and
that's just like super villains at
large. So, I think starting with like
Batman when they killed the Joker,
superhero movies had this thing where
the villain like an action movie dies at
the end, but that doesn't happen in
comics because you want them alive for
the next story. So, we have in the
comics a vast array of pretty bitching
Marvel super villains who either have
never been on screen but briefly
appeared on TV or were killed off really
fast or misused like the Wrecking Crew
and She-Hulk. I love that idea because I
think that means that we can have an
array of different villains just running
around just like we have an array of
heroes.
>> Well, Scorpion is DODC funded, I think,
and I I wouldn't be surprised if
Tarantula and Boomerang and all of them
again. It's like when
>> It's like when a a weapons manufacturer
pays off a congressperson to vote for a
war because they need to sell weapons to
fight that war. There's no war,
>> right?
>> Yeah. Y [snorts]
>> I think I still think it might be J.
Jonah Jameson because we've speculated
that the wedding that Spider-Man crashes
in the trailer is uh John Jameson's
wedding.
>> Million% it says on the helicopter.
There's no way. There is no way it is
not John Jameson's wedding. be the same
actor. They have to have the same actor
that played him in
>> 20 years ago. Oh, that poor kid.
>> Yeah. And he's about to get married. He
becomes the man wolf because he's an
astronaut and he hates spiders.
>> I just want [clears throat] to see then
J. Jonah Jameson be like, "You ruined my
son's wedding. Let me go break a
criminal out of prison and build
[laughter] a mech suit.
>> He needs to become I want the comic
accurate scorpion origin." He needs to
lean over to his wife and tell him to
call the caterer and don't open the
caviar like they [laughter] do in
Spider-Man.
>> Man, I I guarantee you because in that
in that scene, they're all facing
forward and they turn back and look at
Spider-Man. Guarantee you it's Jay Jones
Jameson giving a speech at his son's
wedding. There's there's no way that's
not happening in that scene. Um, and
you're right, it's also a fun call back
along with many other callbacks to
Spider-Man 2 that it looks like we're
getting in this movie. It's like
Spider-Man 2 on steroids. I agree. I,
you know, Mike, I agree with you. I
think that if they could do comic
accurate origin where the scorpion is
funded by JJ Jonah Jameson, that would
make sense. I kind of doubt they're
going to go that way because this
Jameson,
>> it doesn't seem like he's quite
>> I can almost see the Jameson from the
Remy movies doing that. But this guy is
kind of cut in the vein of Alex Jones.
And Alex Jones would have rather made
[ __ ] up than actually create his own
super villain.
>> Yeah. because we've never seen uh TV
personalities end up actually becoming
people who have power in the government
or access to funding or anything. I
don't know.
>> I'm not saying Jameson wouldn't run for
mayor like he does in the comics or or
do something along those lines.
Apparently, the mayor's office is just
rotating super villains in and out these
days in the MCU. It could also be that
>> I think totally gonna be part of their
media arm like Val and he's totally part
of
>> how much of a waste was it that they
couldn't use him in the show Daredevil
>> that just would have been like Jameson
should have been a part of that I think
the whole time I think he would have
been a Fisk supporter from day one
because it was anti- vigilante laws.
It's just one of those things like
>> I wish the the universes were a little
bit more tied together but the Sony
rights probably precluded them from
doing that. Um, they are also in this
movie really putting the hand in it a
lot. Now, when the first leaked trailer
happened, which of course I didn't
watch. Uh, and by the way guys, we have
a lot of super chats coming in. We will
get to and super chats as always are
encouraged but not required. But, you
know, please please keep them coming.
We'll get to them in a second. Uh, when
that first trailer came out, I thought,
oh, it looks like the hand are part of
the same villain montage that we were
talking about earlier. Well, then we get
more scenes with them in a prison, no
less, where Matt Murdoch currently is.
We get magazine covers.
Do we think that The Hand are just
little one-off villains? Because in the
trailer, we've got this opening montage
and then we see where Peter's eyes start
to turn black. And I'm wondering if that
the eyes, you know, turning black is the
mutation or if he's being possessed. And
then the hand are obsessed with this
like dark spirit. Um, what do they call
it? the black sky, right? This Yeah. The
beast that they're gonna raise up and
they worship this
>> this mythological beast that's gonna
give them all eternal life and [ __ ]
They might have a bigger role in this
than we thought. I
>> I think like all the other villains in
the film, the hand is somehow working
for DODC and we know that um
>> really
>> tomb we know Tombstone's in the movie. I
think Tombstone is serving as the same
guy who plays him.
I think Tombstone is serving as like an
ear to the ground between DODC and like
the criminal underworld because again I
I really do think Department of Damage
Control is having trouble justifying
their existence.
Everything seems to kind of be going
well right now. Superheroes are embraced
again. Spider-Man's getting the key to
the city, whereas their whole thing
leading up to this has been we, you
know, we bust superheroes and we we give
them a hard time. So, I think they do
need some damage that they're having to
control and that's why they're uh
employing people like Scorpion giving
them these mechanized suits. You'll
notice, you know, I was really on the
train about, okay, the hand, they're in
a prison. Matt Murdoch's in prison. It's
got to be something there. Uh maybe
Electra is still running the Hand.
They're breaking Matt out.
>> Who is, by the way, confirmed for
Daredevil season 3. Some BTS photos.
Yeah.
>> But then like,
>> okay, well, why is Spider-Man there?
Why? Why are they going to go into all
this in a Spider-Man movie when we've
got Daredevil Born Again season 3 coming
out? If you look
>> in that leaked version of the trailer
that I totally didn't watch either,
>> when Spider-Man on the end tag lands and
is like antagonizing that DODC agent
that is clearly standing outside of some
type of cell block. Mhm.
>> If you look behind that agent, there is
another agent on the other side of the
fence that appears to be holding one of
those same like batons that we see
[clears throat] the hand fighting with
in the prison. Those electrical like
there's electricity batons like not just
swords and stuff.
>> That's what they're fighting Spider-Man
with in the prison. So that makes me
think, okay, so why does the Hand have
the exact same weapons as the DODC at
the prison that Spider-Man seems to be
jumping into? We know Sadie Sink is
being held somewhere. Her character I
think this is Spider-Man breaking her
character out. Spider-Man wipes the
floor with the agents. They call in the
hand to come
>> stop.
>> I don't know. I had always kind of read
it as maybe the hand and Spider-Man are
both breaking into the prison at the
same time for the same goal. They're
both like racing there. And if Daredevil
is in this prison, it would make sense
that, you know, if it's not a full DoDC
prison, that they have at least maybe
some um special agents guarding his cell
and that they have those weapons and
that maybe the hand came in, took out
those dudes, [snorts] and took their
weapons.
>> Maybe
>> um I think the Hand is not the type of
organization to
buddy up with the government like to
even like one acknowledge that they
exist, right? like so I'm not so sure
that they would
>> obviously the whole thing would be off
the books but it it just doesn't seem
like it's in their character to team up
with the feds. Well, ex but think about
their current state a after the
defenders they've pretty much so the
hand was funded through their uh
criminal underground work with fist you
know they were part of like the
underground criminal empire whatever of
the MCU's New York City
>> so that's how they were funded
>> after the defenders that was pretty much
dismantled so the presence of the hand
in New York they've likely been
struggling so I I could see them taking
a deal with the government that's like,
"Hey, we let you keep doing what you're
doing. We provide you weapons and
funding when we call you come like to do
what we need you to do." I I could see
that happening. [snorts]
>> My thought though, that that Hawkeye did
wipe out the Yakuza, which would have
opened up a lot of profit avenue, like
revenue avenues for them in Japan, too.
Go ahead, Tommy. I'm sorry.
>> Well, I'm just wondering, it seems to me
like there would need to be some
connective tissue then between the DODC
and the hand. like is is uh Tremol
Tilman's character someone who like has
a like deep experience in the New York
underground crime scene like you know
what I mean like it I always I'm always
curious as to like how how does someone
in the DODC even know how to
>> get the hand on board with that
>> Tombstone that's a point yeah I love the
idea I love the idea of them like you
said Colton running FL false flag
operations
>> I I think Tombstone's their middleman
because that's kind of what he is in the
comics right he's like a mob top
enforcer. He's like a he he gets things
done. Like he's like the middleman that
operates between the different like
criminal heads and stuff and make sure
that
>> he's a guy.
>> Yeah. He's a guy that knows a guy, get
things done. Yeah.
>> I definitely think the reason he's there
though is to free Sadie Sync. I think
it's really clever in their marketing.
>> One, not revealing who she is is kind of
silly. Um, I think what they should have
done was say she's a new character and
give her the name of an alias that she
uses at the start of the movie because
as soon as you see a red-haired young
person, like just Gene Gray, like who
else the hell is going to be? Especially
if they keep it a secret. But the idea
of making
>> we got a scene where somebody says, "I
like your real name, Jean."
>> Robin, you know, Robin.
>> Robin.
>> That's right. No one
>> Jean Skywalker. Exactly.
>> But then, you know, I I do want to point
this out. So, look, I'm a little behind
here because I was so busy yesterday
like traveling to the theater and
everything. I didn't realize that a
Spider-Man brand new day TV spot had
come out until just now. Were you guys
aware of this?
>> No.
>> Apparently, one came out yesterday. It's
not a prank. Um, I figure we'll see
what's in it. It may be the exact same.
There may be some new details. Maybe we
should have done a whole video on this,
but like let's watch it right now. Let's
react to it
>> really quick. I I think they're going to
learn that she has a mutant gene. And
then Peter's going to say, "Well, let's
call you Jean." I think that's how it's
going to happen.
>> Oh, Eugene. Perfect. What kind of jeans?
What color jeans is she wearing?
>> And she and she released the Gray Hulk.
So yeah.
>> Jesus God.
>> Oh, that's even worse than what I said.
I thought mine was and I thought my joke
was bad.
[sighs]
>> Oh, on the outside. All right, here we
go. Let's watch this.
>> The horse's name was Saturday.
>> It's Friday.
>> Saturday. [laughter]
>> It's Friday.
>> No, that's a better joke. That's that's
that's like wheels within wheels. Oh,
it's it's like an onion. It stinks the
more layers you go down the parfait.
Okay, let's watch this brand new day TV
spot. See what we see. And uh for all
you screen crushers out there, sorry we
didn't break this one down yet.
>> Scary bad guys,
>> but do you know the one thing he is
never scared of?
>> Hold on. Let's start it from the
beginning.
>> We all know that Spider-Man fights scary
bad guys,
>> but do you know the one thing he is
never scared of? Needles.
>> What the?
>> It's probably spider puberty.
>> Hey, hey, hey. Come on.
>> What's going on with you, Spider-Man?
>> Organic webs.
>> Heightened fences.
>> God, that's cool.
>> Increased agility.
>> You okay, kid? Yeah, you're okay.
>> Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
>> I didn't know you could get that big.
>> Rated PG-13, July
>> They made it look like
>> They made it look like Scorpion was the
one saying, "What's going on with you,
Spider-Man?" But that was totally Tom
Holland's voice. Anyway, sorry. Looks
good.
>> I know. I know. Uh, I like this scene
where, and I'm curious because somebody
else had said something in the super
chats about this, um, where he's doing
the right thing. He's wearing a hospital
gown. He's being a good guy. They do
make it look like vaccines cause his
mutation. Am I the only person who's
noticing that?
>> No, it didn't work.
>> It didn't work.
>> Yeah. He's already [laughter] gone
through it. And he seemed surprised that
the needle bent. He was like, "What
the?"
>> Yeah. See, the needle bent and he's
like, "What? Too many boosters.
>> Yeah.
>> So, he's becoming like more
indestructible.
>> Okay.
>> More ind. Can Can you get more
indestructible? I don't
>> And it's cool. No, you actually It's
like saying more.
>> It's like when it's like when uh
Thunderbolt Ross says adamantium. It's
more indestructible than vitranium. I'm
like,
>> yeah, but to be fair, the opening of the
Declaration of Independence has the
exact same grammatic a more perfect
union. There's no or no constitution not
not
all the nerds in this. Well, actually
the declaration of is not a binding
legal document. I believe you're
referring to the people's constitution.
All right. Got a couple other questions
here. Uh one about Sadi Sync, right? So,
do you guys think that her being Jean
Gray I guess I have two question here.
One is related to
Secret Wars, I guess. So after Secret
Wars, there's a soft reboot of the MCU.
I'm willing to bet your regular rank and
file person just doesn't remember the
they know that some bad [ __ ] happened,
but then everything was fine, right?
They remember up to the incursion and
that's about it. And because reality's
been rewritten, they don't know. So
basically in this movie, if the presence
of Gan Gray frightens people and leads
them to fear and distrust mutant kind,
they would never remember the mutants
were here. Charles Xavier and Patrick
Stewart and all that was already
happened, right? That's all wiped from
the regular person's memory. But do you
think these events kickstart anti-mutant
paranoia? And also, do you guys think
that
um the heroes forget that they worked
with Hugh Jackman and Secret Wars?
>> Well, there's a reason it's called
Secret Wars, right? Yeah. I think a lot
of it won't be remembered, but I think
like 90% of the stuff, maybe 85 that
comes before Doomsday and Secret Wars
will still be considered like fully part
of the cannon. It'll be referenced like
I think Thunderbolts will still be a
very important movie going for like to
look back on like things that setting up
like I think a lot of what they're doing
with Valentina and the DODC that they
aren't waiting to do all that setup in
the mutant saga. They're just like going
ahead and doing it. And it's going to I
think it's going to have a through line
even post Secret Wars. I don't think
Secret Wars it's going to be oh complete
boom start. We're starting over. We got
to rebuild from scratch. That they're
still going to they're still building
like their house of cards. I think pre
doomsday. So it'll still matter.
>> It's nice to see them doing that now
because I felt like the multiverse saga
was either full speed ahead or
completely just building the first layer
of a house of cards. You know, like the
first layering layer before you stuck.
Yeah, that's what I feel like
was because it never built to anything.
It just was the flat
>> stuff and some of it's really well put
together, don't get me wrong. And then
parts of it like Thor, Love, and Thunder
are already falling down over there.
Okay, that's a House of Cards metaphor
that I can't stretch anymore. I'll I'll
tell you the one thing I think would be
a great idea. This is a great indicator,
and I'm stealing this from something.
Let's say Thunderbolts like, okay,
Secret Wars, they wake up. Uh, oh, what
happened? Blah blah blah. We've seen
this in like Crisis on Open Earth issue
12. Same same kind of thing. Uh, one of
them's walking down the hall and then
they see a worker who works in the
building and it's Maria Hill. Just do
that. If you bring back Maria Hill, like
they brought back Scott and Jean at the
end of Days of Future Past, you're
basically saying Secret Invasion didn't
happen.
>> Yeah.
>> Other bad things didn't happen and don't
worry about it. It's like Austin and
Basil Exposition looking at the camera
and saying, "Don't worry, we got you.
This is exciting. You're gonna figure
things out as you go.
>> Does that mean Talos can come back too?
Can he be like
>> I do hope so. Ever so much.
>> Please. I'll be good.
>> He's going to play Dr. Doom.
>> They're going to kiss.
>> He would have meant he wanted to play
it.
>> Meno.
>> He talked so passionately about Dr. Doom
in that interview. Like
>> he should have played him. He really I
mean if they actually did Yeah. if they
actually did this the right way.
>> I don't know. Instead, I mean, I haven't
seen the movie yet. I don't know if
they're doing it the right way or not.
It just kind of occurs to me that
>> I don't know. Dr. Doom appearing in a
Fantastic 4 movie and being slowly built
up over an entire saga instead of
brought at the last minute and replacing
another villain with him with no buildup
whatsoever might not be the best way to
do it.
>> You haven't seen Doomsday yet?
>> It's on Twitter.
>> Oh, did you? [laughter]
>> The whole thing.
>> Isn't everything?
>> Um, yeah. Yeah. So, what do you guys
think apart from that? Like, do you
think that this is going to kickstart
people distrusting mutants? And why do
you think the Punisher is immune to the
mind control too? We see it doesn't
affect him in the in the trailer either.
>> I like the theory that was in the show
notes, which is like his brain is just a
house of horror. So, anyone trying to
enter [laughter]
No.
>> Oh, god. No.
>> Yeah. What happened to the Punisher when
the void was uh happening in New York?
Can you imagine that? The Punisher
>> on the beach with Nick Fury, baby. Yeah.
[laughter]
>> Yeah. No, for him it was nothing. That
was like light compared to what he
normally puts himself through.
>> I don't know that he's immune to it as
much as I think maybe they're actively
not freezing him
>> like
>> I think he's immune to it. I I don't
know. I think that there's it could be
if it's directed if it is created by Gan
Gray, for example, which the trailer
makes it seem like it's not, but if Gene
is doing that that big wide thing and
freezing everyone, maybe she's sparing
the Punisher. Um, it could also be that
I don't know, Peter, you can say, well,
he mutated, right? He's his evolutionary
step has gone forward a little bit.
>> Yeah, they say he's immune to it. Yeah,
you're the only
>> Maybe Jean his head at one point and in
and doing that, she protects him. I
don't know.
>> There's a thing that happened on the
press tour uh where Tom Holland said one
person remembers that he's Spider-Man,
right? and he may have given too much
away. But who do you think that is?
>> I think that's Jean. I think that's just
Gan because she can read minds. And I
think that maybe she inadvertently
discovers that he is Spider-Man and then
she's like, I know your secret.
>> I think she's not read I think she's not
susceptible to that type of spell.
>> Yeah. Being a telepath, I think she is
not
her mind is fortified. As Wong says,
fortify your mind.
There's also, you know, Gene and the
Phoenix, it gets weird um because it's
moved back and forth so much, but like
originally it was a cosmic entity that
possessed her, then it was a cosmic
entity that replaced her, and then years
later they were like, "Oh, no, it's
actually a cosmic entity that's buried
within her at all times,
>> which is basically what they did in
X-Men 3." So, it could also be that she
is somehow tapped into a greater cosmic
force, which would kind of excuse the
magic part of it. You know what I mean?
Like she was immune to magic because of
that. I'd say Hulk like in the comics,
but they never established Hulk meeting
Peter in the MCU. Really? Yeah. So,
>> I guess he could have known.
>> Yeah. If he was like in the trunk,
>> Tony wouldn't have
>> Well, maybe Tony would
Bruce, but not Hulk.
>> Yeah, Bruce would have known. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Bruce would have known
because I mean they were like they were
at the funeral together. Obviously they
that's what always gets me is when
people are like no Steve Rogers never
knew Peter Park. I'm like they are
standing right next to each other at the
funeral. Just because they didn't show
them talking on screen doesn't mean they
did.
>> Anyway,
>> they did talk. Where you from?
>> Yeah, they fought at the airport queens.
>> Oh, but that's Yes. In Civil War. Yeah.
Yeah. But
>> but as far as the Hulk goes, um even if
they didn't talk at the funeral, Tony
would have known Tony like has opened up
to Bruce before. He thought he was his
therapist in Iron Man 3. I could
definitely see him like kind of reeling
and confiding in Bruce at some point
like, "Yeah, I got this kid killed."
>> Tony was going to put Peter in the
Avengers. You think he didn't like
inform the other Avengers like, "Hey,
there's this kid Peter Parker. Here are
his powers. He's really great. Anybody
opposed
thoughts?" Like,
>> and Hulk was off world at that time,
though.
>> Yeah,
>> that's also true. But we do know that
during in the gap, the five-year gap
between Endgame, Infinity War, and
Endgame, that Tony gave Bruce an island
and helped them set up a lab. So, they
would have had a lot of
>> Totally would have learned. Yeah.
>> Right. Right. Right. A lot of cool
downtime happens in that island. And I
Yeah. You know, guys, She-Hulk isn't
perfect. Like, the ending, I think, is
kind of wonky, even though it's
hilarious, but boy, watching her like
pump the Hulk for information about
Steve Rogers virginity, that holds up.
That whole that might be the best
postredit scene in any MCU show.
>> That show's great. I don't care what
anybody says. I like that show.
>> I like for the most I don't like what
they did to my crew and the abomination
and um
>> yeah and apparently great views on
>> could have been better.
>> Disney Plus too.
>> The show itself overall is great.
>> I want to get to what Alex Perez
recently said in a long tweet where he
talked about upcoming projects. This is
really exciting. I do want to just get
to some of these super chats first. Um,
there's some good ones in here. Spaceman
Texas gave us two bucks and said, "Do we
see the new Spider suit teaser UK Sony?"
I did watch it. It's pretty great. Have
you guys seen that?
>> Is it the one where he says it's
inspired by Toby and Andrews suits?
>> Oh, yes.
>> It's like a featurette where they talk
about how they designed it and it makes
sense that he's like, "Yeah, we took
elements from both because Peter would
have been influenced by that."
Um, Johnny Mash Potato said just leaked
the alien language and disclosure day
translates to FJ Jared
>> Leto.
>> He's the internet's he's like the Roman
Reigns of the real world. People hate
that guy. It's hilarious. Dave, Dave M
gave us five bucks and said, "I hope
since this seems to follow the Neogenic
Nightmare from the animated series,
which Colton called way before anybody
else I know on the internet, uh, since
it follows the Neogenic nightmare, the
villain is a mutant and a revamped
chameleon who jumps from person to
person. That's fun.
>> I'm not going to say I think I know."
Holland said in a recent interview, "The
villain is still a secret that we don't
know." Yes.
>> And I I I think I know, but I'm not
gonna say it here. You have
>> from that era.
>> There's a leak out there that might be
accurate that I won't share on the
channel
>> because I don't like to do that to
people. I think if you want to find the
leak, you can go find it yourself. And
you don't we talk rumors, not leaks.
Like if I think something is like
>> like the plot of Doomsday has leaked and
we're not going to talk about it on
here.
>> The big actor uh and I'm sorry that I'm
forgetting his name right now. Something
David um that is voicing
>> David
So Keith Keith David's character in this
we believe is going to be the jackal,
right?
>> I thought so.
>> Or or just a Yeah. Or the villain.
>> What level of like involvement he has in
it? I mean, if Tom Holland saying
there's still a secret villain out
there, we know that Keith David's in
this movie. We believe that he's playing
the Jackal. The movie seems to be about
some type of genetic mutation that's
happening to Spider-Man. Maybe he starts
the movie thinking that it is just like
a natural thing and then he comes to
find out it's something that was done to
him.
>> I love that because that's what Miles
Warren the Jackal does. He's always
screwing with Peter's DNA and cloning
him and [ __ ]
>> And also my only request is we're gonna
have the Jackal in this movie. I want
Allison Janney to appear and do the
Jackal
>> from the West.
>> What am I saying? She's already in this
movie. She's Jonah Jameson. What am I
talking This is he. Yeah, he can
transfer
>> also develop mind topping powers when
>> he can transfer his consciousness. Well,
it's not powers. He does it through the
power of science. He he transfers he
attempts to transfer his consciousness
into Peter.
I I haven't read the clone sag.
>> Well, I guess that No, but he does No,
but he does that genetically though.
It's not like it's a a power that he has
to like hook him up to machines and
[ __ ] doesn't he? In the clone.
>> That's what That's what I'm saying is
that but I'm saying he does
consciousness transfer and that this
could be an adaptation. And I think in
Brand New Day where maybe Jack is using
>> Jean's powers to do that. Yeah.
>> You know though, I had forgotten that
was his goal in the clone saga. That's
like at the very end when he's going to
transfer his consciousness into Peter.
You're right. We do a whole video on the
clone saga. Imagine that. Jesus. God.
What?
>> God. I can you say that?
>> I have my Scarlet Spider costume ready
to go.
>> What? Mike,
>> I said I I have my Scarlet Spider
costume ready to go. Remember last
Halloween I sent you a picture of me
dressed up?
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, we can do a
video. Let's do it.
Uh, Arman gave us five pounds and said,
"I've seen every Spider-Man movie in
theaters with my dad. Even the Remy
films had reruns in the shitty 480p
Pakistani theater." Uh, my first film,
my first Spider-Man was Amazing
Spider-Man, too. That's awesome.
>> What What was everybody Oh, that's a
dumb. Never mind. I was going to say,
what was everybody's first Spider-Man?
But you're all Yeah. Mine, too. We're
old. We're old. Yeah.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. I was when it came out.
>> That was my first movie.
Really?
>> Really?
>> My mom took me when I was five. Yeah.
>> Wow.
>> I was 22, but there's a moment in that
movie that turned me into a kid again.
And this doesn't happen very often in
art, especially when you're an adult.
Like, I can think of a couple plays that
I saw where I got completely sucked in
and forgot I was watching a play. Uh the
moment in that movie where Green Goblin
is he's, you know, it's at the Roosevelt
they're on Roosevelt Island. They're
over at the old orphanage ward and
stuff. And he's he says, "After I kill
you, I'm going to kill AMA. I'm gonna
kill Mary Jane. And I genuinely, as a
22-year-old adult, thought,
>> "Oh my god, the Green Goblin's gonna
kill Mary Jane and Aunt May." Like, I I
was so sucked into the movie and that
experience of like observing a comic
book. I was really scared in that
moment. And then, of course,
>> you know, front brain kicked in and I
went,
>> "You're you're you can go buy liquor
right now if you want. Why are you
[laughter] worried about this? This is
ridiculous." Uh, but yeah, that really
hit me hard. Now, here's from Down Under
from Australia gave us $15 and said, "I
have questions about the TV spot," which
I thought was what we just watched, but
listen to these questions. Did you see
the Stark Tech logo on the inhibitor?
Why is MJ in the graveyard? What is the
injection into Spider-Man's arm? And can
we start a GoFundMe for Doug's Bale?
>> I saw that still. I saw a still of MJ
standing in a graveyard. I think they're
starting to release a lot of TV spots.
Yeah,
>> I I also saw a Peter doing the the the
web tornado and it's like a shot like
this. It's like from an angle where the
camera's under him. So maybe that's from
a TV spot as well or like
>> you know they do different cuts of
trailers for different markets like
international markets. So maybe there's
that.
>> We got to break these trailers down. I
had I had no idea. I was going all day
yesterday so I had no idea that like I
was totally in Supergirl world. Um so I
don't know. Phil Rumba I
>> Doug's bail is currently set at $5
million. So if I can't say what he's
been charged with, but that should tell
you
>> what currency because is it five million
people
>> dollar?
[laughter]
>> Depending on the strength of the yen, we
should have them out in a couple of
minutes. Okay. Uh Gio Kais gave us five
euros. Sorry, I don't know how to say
the last name. Uh, Pizza Papa.
[laughter]
Pizza Papa remembers Peter because Pizza
Papa always remembers.
>> Man, that is just just an excellent call
back to another Remy connection. That's
great.
>> How have they not brought back Mr.
Dinkovich?
>> Like even at the end of No Way Home when
they have the landlord say off camera,
"Rents due on the on the first, don't be
late." I'm like, "How did you get this?"
That's what it could have been.
Dinkovich otherwise it's a distraction
if he's in the scene. But yeah,
>> god it would have been so good.
>> I know. Glow catsy says for five. Why
are we not talking about Peter fighting
with his mask off since we know how
important his identity and the spell is
for Spidey? Is he going to kill the
hand? Why does he take his mask off? Or
does he take his mask off?
>> They probably take his mask off.
>> I don't think the hand
>> they take his mask off. But I wonder if
it's also like Thor's eye patch, you
know, like where they digitally had the
um they took his eye patch out in the
Ragnarok trailer, you know, or no, they
put the eye patch on. So I wonder if
like
>> in that scene if they did film him with
his mask off for that eyeball shot where
you see his eye change,
>> but he's not actually wearing the mask
in the scene. I don't know.
>> They definitely had asked him, but the
question is
>> concerned about the hand knowing who he
is. A prison is likely full of cameras.
So yeah, I I get what you're saying.
>> Unless there's like an E impulse or
something, but he's right. That's a
really great point.
>> You guys think the hand of the
>> will kill Peter and then go kill MJ?
>> No, I it's not going to pull me in that
much.
>> Um, we also got Raul Gonzalez gave us $5
and says, "Spidey trying to get MJ and
Ned to remember just for everyone to get
their minds wiped again in Doomsday.
Will they be in [laughter] Doom and
Secret Wars?
>> Sorry, I didn't hear the end. What was
the end?
>> No. Will they be in Doomsday and Secret
Wars? Ah, man. They're going to
remember. They'll remember him. It's
It's the same thing in the comics when
Doctor Strange has a similar spell where
people can't know that Peter Parker's
Spider-Man, but then there's this thing
where everybody in Manhattan gets spider
powers, so Spider-Man websings
throughout the island. So, or sorry,
Peter Parker does. And after that
happens, it's people are capable of
remembering if he tells them, you know,
like if if they can they can then work
it out. It like kind of shatters the
spell. So I definitely think that at
least for them, their mind's not going
to get wiped everything. But
>> it's still a tragedy though if they
don't have their memories of their
friendship with Peter in high school,
though. It's like if they just suddenly
can link together like, oh, cuz like
they don't know who Peter Parker is,
right? Like that's the baby.
>> Well, that's the thing. I think that
when he tells them they remember
everything
>> just like in really the comics like yeah
like there's a couple instances of this
when um uh Daredevil does the same thing
and like kind of mind wipes the purple
man mind wipes and Kingpin finds out
Kingpin has to discover oh I used to
know the whole time but when people
rediscover Spider-Man's identity they
remember like it's the whole
>> I like that I don't like the idea of
them like continuing their relationship
after Peter's like yeah I'm I'm
Spider-Man we knew each other blah blah
blah and they just still don't remember.
But why don't you keep it? That would be
weird. Yeah,
>> I definitely think he freaks them out.
There's a thing in the trailer where Ned
is like, "Wait, you guys haven't met?"
And I think that that
>> Well, and they're obviously still so
drawn to him. Like, she's still wearing
the necklace he gave her. And Ned is
obsessed with Spider-Man. So, they still
remember like a lot. And there's just
like something I feel like there's just
like this thin film that represents the
spell that's like right there that just
if you tear at it a little it Yeah. come
flowing through.
>> It's reme.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. Yeah. You're right.
>> Yeah. Thin candy show.
>> Uh Gavin Mohan gave us
>> Gavin Mohan gave us $10 and said, "What
I think it should be is Martin Lee, Mr.
Negative, is the secret villain behind
the curtain." which mind control powers.
That's Mr. Negative using his corruption
powers to control Gan and change the
Hulk. I love this. He can also be the
new leader of the hand to get them
involved.
>> Every time I hear a lot of dots,
>> every time I hear behind the curtain, I
just think of that frame from Wizard of
Oz.
>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [laughter]
>> But he was Mr.
>> That's a lot of dots in a really organic
way. Who's Mr. Maybe that's why the Hulk
is gray cuz he's in like black and white
kind of.
>> Could be.
>> No, no, no.
>> Which is like not really how Mr.
Negative typically makes people look,
but like it's close.
>> The Hulk is gray because Jean Gray
mutant gan
because
>> which came from Jean or the Hulk?
>> We've got Saturday.
>> The pizza papa comment by the way
belonged to Ric Flair's hairs. I got
that mixed up. And Loving Life A2Z gave
us $5 and said, "Just finding out I'm
late to the game, but I love seeing
Tommy B on SC. Looking great, Tommy. You
do look really good, Tommy. Love the
glasses and haircut. Play my graphic."
>> Yeah.
>> Oh, yeah. That's a That's a call back to
an old organization we sh not name on
this channel.
>> Ah, I got you. I got you.
>> It's your own break. Okay. Um,
>> moving on. Let's talk about We don't
have much, but Alex Perez
one company to the other. He's still
Tommy, but he can't use his signature
moves.
>> Yeah, I can't use my old entrance music
and I can't say the words [laughter]
mandatory fun ever in the sentence, but
I can talk about Spider-Man.
>> Alex Perez uh recently tweeted um he
said, "I kind of want to get the
multiverse saga over with. I want to
talk about mutants, the Shadow King and
Mr. Sinister, which makes me think, are
they the next villains for the X-Men?
the Novaore who they've been teasing the
Novaore for years or like implying they
would be there. First scene obviously
Thanos destroying
>> Xandar.
>> Um the symbiate which you know I'm sure
Peter will get the symbiot in Secret
Wars and maybe we already had a hint for
this in this episode.
>> The Maggie of Crime Lords Electra which
you know Electra um is going to appear
in Daredevil season 3. Why are the hand
after Peter if Electra seems like it's
all too much of a coincidence? Uh
Bullseye, what he's up to, the
Thunderbolts 2.0, Eternals and
Celestials. Are we ever going to get the
Eternals followup? And uh the comic book
Judgment Day, which is interesting that
he brought this up because Judgement Day
is a 2022 Marvel comics event where the
Celestials pass judgment on all of the
Eternals, X-Men, and Avengers. And maybe
that's the big bad at the end of secret
at like for the next saga, the mutant
saga, which could then bring in the
Phoenix, and also would make the
Eternals [ __ ] matter.
>> Of that list, I just want to hear before
we go, what are you guys excited about?
Is there anything that really gets the
back of your mind creative impulse?
>> If they could use the Shadow King and
pull in some elements of Legion, that
would be so great. I
>> Legion has no [ __ ] excuse to be that
good. It is such a great show.
>> Oh, it's so good.
>> I'm just excited for an X-Men villain
that isn't Magneto. And I love Magneto
or or Apocalypse or Striker. Like like
they have so many cool villains. Yeah.
>> I wish they would redo Age of
Apocalypse. And they might, you know,
like a decade from now. But
>> look at the actual Age of Apocalypse. If
you're going to do alternate universe
multiverse stories, do the alternate
timeline where he won.
>> Yeah. And I think that's probably the
next
>> Secret Wars like the 10 years from now
when they do the next giant event, giant
Marvel event apocalypse. Yeah.
>> Do you think like comic accurate age of
apocalypse where it's like a divergent
timeline because of time travel and
stuff?
>> I think the multiverse saga
>> the stuff that they laid groundwork for
Kang in um uh Moonnight. Remember how
they had like the images of Kang and
stuff? They reccon all that stuff to be
apocalypse.
>> Could be. We might even get Moonnight
season 2 someday. I mean, they got a
great setup.
>> I love Moonnight season 2.
>> I personally
um
>> looking at this list,
>> I still think the Eternals had a great
setup and it definitely deserved
something else. I think some of these
are definitely going to happen like the
symbiate. I just think Marvel is done
keeping their big [ __ ] on the bench
right now. I think they need to bring
out all the big guns. We need Venom. We
need the mutants. We got to get all
whatever Sony wants in the next deal
with Marvel, Marvel will pay it. I think
that they really want to rebuild and
earn the trust of fans back.
>> I want a good representation of Venom. I
am utterly disappointed with every movie
version of Venom that we have ever
gotten. I'm not a fan of Tom Hardy. Come
at me. I don't care. I hated the Venom
movies. I thought they were really bad.
And obviously the Toeer Grace one at
Spider-Man 3 also really disappointing.
Give us a good legitimate MCU Venom,
please. Hey man, I there's about 10
minutes in Venom that I really enjoyed
when the sent [laughter] first bombs
with him and he says that he was a loser
on his planet.
>> They had me for that little bit and had
me right there.
>> I love the first one.
>> The other two suck, but
>> the other two thing is do why I I hated
back in the comics like Venom was cool
as [ __ ] or because he appeared
maybe maybe once every 18 months for his
first few appearances. because they were
really careful to not overuse him. He
was always this person who you really
felt like Spider-Man was screwed when
Venom showed up. He had all these
advantages over Spider-Man that no other
villain had. He knew his secret
identity. He was stronger than him. He
could his Spider-Man spider sense
detects. Yeah,
>> exactly. So, there were all these
different things. Loving Love and Life
A2Z gave us $2 and said, "PG, I'll
always be a Tommy B original in my
heart." And Rick Taylor gave us $2 and
said, "Hulk versus beast." That would
also be very cool, especially if we're
talking about the hands beast.
>> But the point is that they um
>> that Venom was cool because he was
underused. And then at a certain point,
Marvel, you know, which had been given
this mandate to grow, grow grow. They
were trying to like they were buying toy
companies and Pog companies and all this
other [ __ ] They had a mandate, okay, we
got a spin-off. We got to have new
characters. They were trying to
basically push every other comic off the
shelves in comic book shops back when
that kind of thing mattered. And they
turned villain Venom into
a lethal protector and then he got like
a series of limited series so they could
always sell in issue number one. They
were always foiled and they sucked. I
never ever thought Venom worked. There
was some really good work done later on
that dove into like Eddie's past and him
redeeming himself. But for me, he just
always works better as a guy who just
hates Spider-Man
>> and that's his defining characteristic
along with his psychosis of having a
dual like he's a he speaks in the
plural. But again, there's been some
great work. You know, we've covered it.
We did a great video, a history of
Venom, that was really, really good and
dove into a lot of stuff later on. But
for me, that's the Venom stuff I want in
the movies. I don't want to skip
straight
>> Why didn't they put Toe for Grace's
Venom in Spider-Man No Way Home, by the
way.
>> Sky, I'm sure he was one of the people
in the sky.
>> For that matter,
>> all the Spider-Man Noir villains, I
guess, should have been there. Or no,
because they didn't know him as Peter
Parker. They knew that he was Spider-Man
or that he was the
>> Well, I mean, they only they only
brought the ones in from those two
universes, but he totally should have
been there. We needed Toe for Grace
Venom.
>> Three universes cuz Venom,
>> we needed Dane to Green Lant Green.
>> But then we wouldn't have gotten that
great joke when they were talking about
villains they fought and he he brought
up like the you know, I fought like some
black goo from space. [laughter]
>> That was one of my favorite scenes in
that movie. All right, guys. We are
going to have to sign off there, but
this has been so much fun. I hope you
guys have had fun watching us. Uh, and
you got to watch us react to a
Spider-Man trailer that none of us had

>> which was super cool. And I'm sure we're
going to have other Spider-Man trailers

[ __ ] Tommy, you got to go, man.
