[00:02] a while now I have over 250 uploads and I've only ever gotten one copyright strike and it wasn't even from an Anime Studio it was from Sony
[00:14] music for using clips from the darker than Black Op of all things also it was a manual strike from someone who clearly didn't like me today I'm going to show you exactly how to post your transformative anime content without
[00:29] getting copyright claims or strikes let's get into [Music] it I'm going to do the thing that's best for the viewer and go through these from most important to least important that
[00:44] said I still want you to stick around and watch to the end the most important way to avoid copyright is to make sure that your content is actually transformative so that means that you can't just record an episode of your
[00:59] favorite anime and post it to YouTube fair use demands that you change the content in some way to make it a new product I stuck my avatar on here removed the audio of the anime behind me and added my voice over so this is now
[01:16] completely new material and not actually the one piece that's playing in the background so find your own way to transform the content and make it your intellectual property the second most important way
[01:30] to avoid copyright is to keep the clips used short don't get greedy and screen capture a whole minute or more of anime I recommend between 24 and 27 seconds
[01:44] per clip used what we don't want to do is enable a potential viewer to get The Narrative of the original work by watching or transformed content that can
[01:56] be argued as damages to the potential Revenue of the original work and that therefore violates fair use so keep the clip short and sweet and nonsequential
[02:08] if possible reuse some if you have to in order to meet your runtime requirements working our way down the list it's also important to consider audio sometimes the audio copyright on an anime belongs to a different company
[02:25] just as Sony screwed me they can screw you too to avoid this I recommend muting the clips you take and replacing them with your own audio unless you have a need to emphasize sound design which I get because sometimes that's the point
[02:42] of the video but try your best to reduce the copyright attack surface when possible if you need to even use a song from the anime look for a copyright free
[02:54] cover of the song and use that one instead we are reaching to the less important approaches something I did when I was just starting out was apply effects to the video to make it pass the content ID system it worked but I do not
[03:10] recommend this approach because it hurts the viewer experience and if you followed the approaches above you won't need this one plus this method while it may pass YouTube's automatic content ID it's very likely that a manual review
[03:24] it's very likely that a manual review will get you a strike so avoid this one before I wrap up I think it's important to note as well that we don't just publish the video we allow for the content ID checks to occur first and
