## Summary

A content creator reports that users on ResetEra are trying to report the game 'Stellar Blade' to payment processors like Visa and Mastercard, echoing the censorship campaigns of activist group Collective Shout from the previous year. He warns that such pressure can force developers to censor their games to avoid being deplatformed. The video analyzes the forum thread, notes that the reporting account was banned after the story trended, but expresses concern that similar attempts may succeed if not met with strong backlash.

### Key Points

- **Reporting account banned after story broke** [4:10] — The user who claimed to report Stellar Blade to Visa and Mastercard was banned as a troll account after the story began trending, but only after media picked it up.
- **Forum's response and pushback** [5:38] — After the report, many forum users condemned the reporting, but the creator suspects the backlash only occurred because the story became public.
- **Collective Shout's tactics effective** [7:47] — The creator notes that Collective Shout's method of contacting payment processors successfully forced platform censorship, making it a viable tactic for future campaigns.
- **Petition to censor Stellar Blade** [8:34] — A petition to remove 'youthful characters' from Stellar Blade is gaining votes, indicating ongoing efforts to force censorship of the game.

### Conclusion

The creator believes that without strong, immediate backlash, similar reporting campaigns could succeed in forcing censorship of Asian games like Stellar Blade, and urges the community to aggressively oppose such attempts.

## Transcript

I wish I was lying with the title of
this video, but I am not. There is now
people reporting Stellar Blade Blood
Reign to Visa, Mastercard, and payment
processors in general, echoing the same
thing that we saw last year with
Collective Shel. For those that need a
very brief rundown on what this
necessarily means, basically last year
we had a lot of censorship, widespread
censorship that kind of ushered in
digital ID, age verification, and all
sorts of other messes that we saw around
the internet and we're still facing
right now with Discord even trying to
still implement age verification
worldwide. And they're using tools to
expand upon. There's been multiple
articles in the last week of them just
testing new things to force age
verification. Dox yourself. But the
point is is that where the origin story,
the the uh the beginning of where this
all started, at least last year, was
Collective Shout, this Australian
activist feminist group that basically
contacted payment processors to get
Steam and Itch.io and various other game
platforms to remove icky taboo like
games from their platform. Basically
saying that anything that is of sexual
nature, anything adult-wise or anything
needs to be removed. And because of the
pressure of Collective Shout, they
managed to contact payment processors
like Visa, Mastercard, PayPal to get
them to call in Steam and like, "You
better remove this or we're going to
blacklist you and remove our ways of
being paid off your service." Basically
killing their company overnight. And
this caused it.io, which is still facing
problems to this very day. They had to
remove a bunch off their platform,
causing thousands upon thousands of
developers to not have any ability to
make money overnight. they lost their
source of income, some going homeless.
And then this goes into PayPal also
cracking down on artist commissions.
Basically, if you were to commission
artwork and all that and get paid,
PayPal would look into this and
investigate you off site and remove your
ability to make money as well. We have
all sorts of things that transpired
thanks to Collective Shout last year.
And so, basically, we saw the damage
they made. They caused Steam to bend the
need, make an entirely new policy for
payment processors and banks. And we
have been seeing constantly, especially
this year with a lot of different Asian
and Japanese games being targeted by
payment processors and banks and the
pressure from Western entities and
companies to basically do what they say
or you're not going to make any money
whatsoever, which is obviously a very
bad thing. If you're a creator or a
developer trying to make something and
sell something, if a bank and a payment
processor shuts you down, you you're
kind of screwed. And so obviously, the
only option you have is to censor your
game to some degree. And we have seen
where this has happened many times where
many different websites had to buckle
and bend to censor themselves. And so
that gets into what we have today with
the Stellar Blade, you know, controversy
where you have individuals now trying to
report Stellar Blade to payment
processors to get it debanked,
deplatformed, and censored and also
removed physically from different stores
like game stores and stuff like that,
which is uh very horrifying. Now, where
this all originated from was a form site
called Reset Era. Now, I have known
about the site for a while. I'm not like
someone that browses them. I don't know
everything about them and what they all
talk about, but from my brief little
browsing through the form that is
associated with, you know, Stellar Blade
Blood Rain, you can see a lot of these
individuals, they are molding and upset
about Stellar Blade or in this case,
Eevee and her design. This is echoing a
conversation I've been talking about
basically for about a week now and how
you have a lot of people that are I'm
just going to be blunt mentally ill
thinking that you know Eevee looks like
a child has childlike features and that
um Asian games problematic and all that
type of stuff that just feels downright
racist towards Asian people because the
same people that are looking down on
Eevee are pro like going out of their
way to hype up Pomni with all her art
and design in Fortnite. But um the point
is is amongst this conversation and
basically the molding on this forum. I'm
just going to be honest looking at the
political alignment here. I don't want
to dive into it too deep, but just
straight up they are very progressive
individuals and very left-leaning. I'm
just I'm going to say it like it is. You
can read through this form yourself
which I will link in the description and
you can check it out. But basically,
when you scroll down and you get towards
the bottom, which is where the story
begins today, you see that there was
someone saying that they reported the
game Stellar Blade and shift up to Visa
and Mastercard. Now, at this current
time, this account has been labeled
troll account and also banned. However,
I would like to point out though that
this only started happening once news
broke about this situation. For
instance, when I made my initial post
today talking about the situation of
basically Stellar Blade, you know,
having calls to get it, you know,
debanked or deplatformed and a few other
individuals like Pirate Nation as well
and a few others picking it up. Soon as
that happened and that started trending
and a lot of people started talking
about it, within the hour, you had the
group on Reset Era ban this individual
and you could just see like look at the
time frame here, okay? And when you look
at my initial post where I talked about
this, it was at 1:40. So basically there
was about an hour of this news starting
to trend and then people came to the
forum and started talking about it which
effectively got this dude banned. And
even though there is technically people
fighting back against this which I'll
talk about in a second. I would like to
remind everybody if you browse through
this forum you have just a lot of people
molding about stellar blade. And this
has been a conversation that's echoing
pretty much on the entirety of the
internet. You can find it pretty much
everywhere. You can find it on Tik Tok,
Reddit, YouTube, Twitter. You can find
it probably on various different forms
like reset era for instance. A lot of
people are talking about stellar blade
and Eevee's design. And so this isn't
just like one area. There's a lot of
people that are probably getting the
exact same idea, the big idea in their
head to do what collective shout did
last year. Now we need to get into the
push back that is now facing this site
or this form, but also the push back
from the users of this site. So
basically, yes, the account that did
this and started this was banned and
they were labeled a troll account. Good
job on the moderators or whoever to
basically do this because this is
completely unacceptable and not okay
whatsoever. And various comments after
this do call this individual out. But I
look, I don't want to say it is, but the
only reason why I think that this got so
much push back so quickly is especially
because it started trending and a lot of
people started picking up the story. If
it wasn't, I feel like this would have
gone on unnoticed and potentially there
would have been some support on this
site about it because I would like to
remind everybody kind of what happened
here. Basically, Collective Shout, they
they reported everything pretty much to
payment processors to get uh Steam and
itch in hot water. And um if you
remember, they got away with it because
not a lot of people were able to catch
it early. They they they definitely got
away with it because of that. And they
did have a lot of connections to that
people in the higher-ups in that
activist group had connections with
government entities and stuff like that
to get the the ball moving. But the
point is is that all it takes is one
activist group to get really pissed off
that has some pretty good weight or
connections with government entities or
big businesses to be able to do exactly
what Collective Shout did last year with
Stellar Blade. And with how blatant the
racism is towards basically Asian
culture and Asian games and media, I
honestly wouldn't be surprised if it
does happen to some shape or form to
force Shift Up and Stellar Blade to be
censored to some degree. Now, like I
said, I am proud that this form called
this out, but soon as they called it
out, the form basically officially died.
And from my knowledge, this isn't a
locked post. So it is very strange just
how quickly it died especially when
there was a lot of active conversation
on this form for honestly ongoing for a
while for days at a time. So I am very
interested on uh why suddenly the form
has went kind of a little bit silent
here after this call out. But with that
I I just this is absolutely crazy. Like
I can't believe we're now back at the
situation like somehow collective shout
has returned in a different form under a
different name. Now, obviously, this
situation isn't as bad, but this is very
telling because everybody knows this
that it works. For instance, activist
groups being able to get a, you know, a
platform to buckle and bend works.
Collective shout is proof of that. You
can hate them or whatever, and I despise
what they did, but they were very
effective with what they did. They did
manage to get to this very day multiple
platforms censored. So, it could happen
again. And so I'm glad to see some just
straight up massive toxic backlash to
this entire situation and people are not
having it whatsoever. Now there is
another little thing I do want to add
into this. There also is calls for
basically a petition to remove Stellar
Blade to remove the youthful characters
within Stellar Blade which Packer Girl
here basically outlines there is an
ongoing petition about this that is
getting votes to basically force Stellar
Blade to be censored. Obviously, I don't
think this is going to go anywhere, but
once again, it goes to show just how
many people are molding about this
situation and that they just cannot
stand Asian Games and beautiful looking
characters within stories. So, yeah,
tell me your thoughts honestly how you
feel about this situation. How do you
feel about uh this whole mess that is
kind of building and bubbling right now?
Like I said, I'm very happy about the
toxicity. That is why I went right out
the gate to make this as toxic as
possible with the title just to get
people riled up to really make sure that
this does not happen. I want people to
outright just be completely 100% against
this type of censorship because it is
unacceptable. These payment processors,
Visa and Mastercard, they should not be
able to get in front of you making
illegal purchase whatsoever. But
obviously, they've shown time and time
again they will all in the name of brand
protection. So, I'm just Yes, that's why
this conversation needs to be extremely
toxic and needs to be basically
completely shut down right soon as it
starts and make it to where anyone that
dares to try to contact payment
processors to do something as evil or re
irredeemable as this just gets
completely shut down. So, yes, I am so
glad people are calling this out and
once again, I'm proud of whoever kind of
shut this down in the form. But, I
wonder what would have happened if this
news didn't break. That is the big
question I have about this situation.
But uh thank you so much for watching.
