## Transcript

So I'd love to start this off with a little bit of time travel. I would love to know where you were when you found out that Overwatch wanted to do this collaboration.
This would be two years ago. We were having a show at Tokyo Dome, and I do remember the team or representatives from the Blizzard team were in town,
and we really kicked off our probably discussion or conversation at that moment. I know that we knew about this opportunity right before that, but I don't remember exactly what moment it was and where I was.
But when we're not very serious about the discussion, I just remember that we were seeing each other in person at Tokyo Dome. And what was your relationship with Overwatch prior to this collaboration?
I don't know. Well, certainly we knew of Overwatch. I, in particular, love watching people play games. So I know I was watching a lot of streaming content where people were playing the game. When we heard wins of Blizzard wanting to collab with us, I was just very excited.
Okay, so now that you're a bit more familiar with Overwatch, who is your main and who is your bias? So for this song Orion that we created, there is original material that came in the form
of a short novel and once you read that novel and got to know the characters and their background and their story I feel like we found a very almost immediate and close attachment to Kitty Golf
So the song is written from her perspective, and she would be our favorite character. And then the opposite of that, I almost want to say that maybe Hanzo, when I started to learn about his background,
my feelings did start to change in a way that I had more of an understanding of where he comes from. But initially, my quick impression of Hanzo was not someone that I would want to maybe choose or play as
and call my favorite hero. What is it about Kirito in particular that draws you to him? Totally. So I think there were a lot of elements of Kiriko while reading through the novel that really hit me.
In addition to that, it was like the visual that was shown to us that this is the character Kiriko. There's Charisma and sort of power behind her character. And in terms of the positioning or the role that she plays, you know, Hanzo and Genji are almost like her older brothers, right?
even with the age difference, and you would think that at first that, oh, well, because she's the younger sister, she's going to kind of more or less tag along to the older siblings but in fact it not really that way She is as powerful and she is as sort of existing in the world in the story And so the fact that she can really stand on her own sort of foundation
and have her own backstory really was inspiring for us. And I think that's the one reason, that's the real reason why we ended up writing the song from her perspective.
The USLB collaboration with Overwatch, there's six legendary skins, there's a weapon charm, voice lines. What was the one thing that maybe you saw the design and you were like, this is it.
Like they perfectly captured our essence and what we are about and like this rings true to who we are as a band. So I think overall the design sensibilities of what the team put together
really matches not only our song but really the overall world that they created for this particular map. So whether it's Kiriko's skin or the weapons that they came up with,
I think they're very unique and, you know, done in a really high-quality manner. In fact, for tomorrow's performance, I would say that maybe you guys should focus on some of the weapons at the painting.
Have you noticed any change in your fan base since doing the Overwatch collaboration? Like maybe people showing up in cosplay to concerts or anything like that? So Orion came out together with the Tokyo Map in June and us as Yoastogi we had our North American tour take place pretty much all of August So there wasn that much time in between but at every single venue when we kicked off the song Orion
the audience just went really loud. So it made us realize and know that the song has already reached the audience out here in North America.
and I think we were just very excited that that had happened in such a short amount of time. What has been the most rewarding part about working with Overwatch on this collaboration?
I would say just the experience itself has been the most rewarding and what I mean by that is that games and music have always been two very strong elements that have always come together
but it can come together in such a way that is so integral to enhancing a player's experience. And so to think about it from a player's standpoint and to have sort of new discoveries for us as artists
to write a song that will resonate and feel rewarding to the player is a new discovery that I've had through the experience. So all in all, just working on this project has been the most rewarding thing.
You can listen to Yoastaggy's original song for Overwatch, Orion, on all streaming services, and be sure to stay tuned to GameStop for more BlizzCon 2026 news.
