Waco American apocalypse when [0:31] Christ reveals himself it's going to be [0:33] according to the book the whole time we [0:35] were listening to David we were living [0:37] and doing God's will there's no shortage [0:40] of documentaries about the Waco Siege of [0:42] 1993 but Waco American apocalypse is the [0:45] definitive Chronicle of the subject [0:46] suspecting the Branch Davidians an [0:49] apocalyptic religious Cult of [0:50] stockpiling illegal weapons the ATF [0:53] rated their compound in Axtell Texas a [0:55] fatal gunfight led to a 51-day Siege [0:58] which ended in an FBI raid and a fire [1:00] that took the lives of 76 cult members [1:03] producer says in my ear [1:06] it's on fire I turned around and I [1:09] looked oh my God the whole compound had [1:13] started to catch fire this dock stands [1:15] out from others thanks to some cinematic [1:17] visuals never before seen news footage [1:19] FBI home videos and Stellar interviews [1:22] with people involved it doesn't take [1:24] sides but presents the story from a [1:26] variety of angles and allows viewers to [1:28] come to their own conclusions all the [1:30] pain that they went through [1:32] I can't imagine it but I think about it [1:36] every day number 19 the confession [1:38] killer one policeman said he makes [1:40] Charles Manson sound like Tom Sawyer [1:43] Henry Lee Lucas is one of the most [1:44] notorious names in True Crime while in [1:47] prison for three murders he confessed to [1:49] having killed 600 people between 1975 [1:52] and 1983. you know you have a member of [1:55] your family killed [1:57] you want to find out the perpetrator [2:00] and so many of them slept better because [2:03] they felt they had found that besides [2:07] leading to the controversial 1986 film [2:09] Henry portrait of a serial killer his [2:11] confessions persuaded the Texas Rangers [2:13] to call it a day on a number of hitherto [2:15] Unsolved cases turns out however that [2:17] Lucas made them up the confession killer [2:20] delves into this awful hoax including [2:22] why it was taken so seriously and the [2:24] Damage it caused to the reputations of [2:26] law officials with an IQ of 87 he was [2:29] able to convince a thousand law [2:32] enforcement officers that he was guilty [2:35] of 200 or whatever always crimes it's a [2:37] fascinating look not at the crimes [2:39] themselves but at the justice system and [2:41] failures within it [2:43] number 18 the family it took a long time [2:46] before I realized just who the family [2:49] was and the influence they have had in [2:53] the leap of our country [2:55] a secret of Conservative Christian group [2:57] the family also known as the fellowship [2:59] holds incredible power in American [3:01] politics while its members have taken a [3:04] vow of silence many journalists [3:06] including executive producer Jeff [3:08] Charlotte have exposed the [3:09] organization's inner workings and how it [3:11] influences political legislation in the [3:13] United States their headquarters the [3:15] seat of their power [3:18] there were Congressman Senators world [3:20] leaders an invisible organization I've [3:23] been hiding in plain sight for over 80 [3:25] years it's an intriguing story that [3:28] dives down some shockingly deep rabbit [3:30] holes the truth that it reveals are [3:32] quite disturbing and anyone interested [3:35] in politics owes it to themselves to [3:36] check it out when you look at the mafia [3:38] they also use the same type of [3:40] organization [3:41] everything visible [3:44] is transitory everything invisible is [3:46] permanent and lasts forever number 17 [3:48] the devil next door the importance of [3:50] the story to me it's so American [3:53] everybody came to America for a new life [3:58] John dementia came here for a new life [4:03] and several years into it it was turned [4:06] upside down you never really know who [4:08] you're living near this documentary [4:10] follows the highly publicized Trials of [4:12] John demyonyek an Ohio auto worker [4:14] demyaniak's story was everywhere in the [4:17] 1980s when he was misidentified as a [4:19] notorious Nazi guard nicknamed Ivan the [4:22] Terrible who'd been stationed at [4:23] Treblinka extermination campionuk denies [4:26] all charges claiming he is not Ivan the [4:29] Terrible and it's all a case of mistaken [4:31] identity demyonyek was acquitted but [4:33] accused of being a guard at a different [4:35] camp sobibor and tried again in the [4:38] 2000s he was found guilty and sentenced [4:40] to prison the devil next door presents [4:42] this captivating tale and captures its [4:44] Myriad twists and turns in engrossing [4:46] fashion people [4:48] didn't appreciate how important this [4:51] trial was number 16 cheer I can see [4:55] you're nervous just take it like second [4:58] section by section [5:00] because I do I literally like push out [5:01] my legs to spin it's like push push spin [5:04] winner of an Emmy for Outstanding [5:06] unstructured reality program cheer is [5:09] basically a real life Bring It On only [5:11] it's far more brutal the docu-series [5:13] follows the Navarro College Bulldogs [5:15] cheer team a highly decorated and [5:17] supremely disciplined cheerleading squad [5:19] from Texas it is a display of [5:22] athleticism it's like the best of [5:24] gymnastics with the best of circus with [5:27] the best of dance they compete in the [5:29] National Cheerleading championship and [5:31] share an intense rivalry with Trinity [5:33] Valley Community College the series [5:35] showcases the intense painful and often [5:38] unbelievable lengths that participants [5:40] go to to become the greatest [5:42] cheerleaders in the country we are very [5:44] very very hungry to win [5:48] like we have way too much heart and we [5:50] have come way too far and worked way too [5:52] hard for any of us to give up while [5:55] often difficult to watch it's ultimately [5:57] an uplifting story about pushing through [5:59] difficulty and finding trust and [6:01] companionship [6:02] number 15 the confession tapes people [6:05] looking right now and lie to you and [6:08] destroy you and do it on purpose false [6:11] confessions are actually quite common [6:13] some of them voluntary as in the case of [6:15] Henry Lee Lucas and some coerced during [6:18] police interrogation the confession [6:20] tapes details this unfortunate reality [6:22] in often excruciating fashion I have no [6:25] idea what kind of pressure and what kind [6:28] of questions need to be put upon someone [6:30] in order to go from no I really didn't [6:33] do it to okay yes I did the series spans [6:37] two seasons and contains multiple [6:39] stories each episode covers a specific [6:41] crime and highlights how police [6:43] techniques led to possible false [6:45] confessions they told me that I blacked [6:48] out they said that's why you can't [6:50] remember but the evidence [6:52] proves you've done it with we got a hair [6:55] that matches you and he kept saying that [6:58] I mean this isn't just going for 30 [7:00] minutes this went on for hours the [7:02] psychology involved in the [7:03] interrogations and confessions is [7:05] fascinating the confession tapes [7:07] cleverly mixes true crime drama with [7:09] expert opinions to craft a docu-series [7:11] that delves deep into the mind [7:13] number 14 mcmillions there are a fair [7:17] amount of murders and mysterious deaths [7:19] on this list macmillions is an outlier [7:22] in this regard it's just about some good [7:24] old-fashioned white-collar crime and all [7:26] I saw was McDonald's Monopoly fraud with [7:30] a question mark and I go what is that [7:33] but as the HBO series proves blood [7:35] needn't to be shed to make an insane [7:37] story macmillions takes an in-depth look [7:39] at a long-running case of fraud carried [7:41] out between 1989 and 2001 by Jerry [7:44] Jacobson I do remember clearly uh [7:48] feeling like I was in New York and I was [7:50] listening to a mobster talking about [7:52] running his Mafia Empire some Mafia Dawn [7:55] because that's kind of how this guy came [7:56] off as the head of security for the [7:58] company handling McDonald's annual [7:59] Monopoly game he was able to steal the [8:02] rarest property pieces and pass them [8:04] along for a portion of the prize this is [8:06] a happy day not only is the premise [8:09] compelling but the way it plays out [8:10] often veers into the realm of the Absurd [8:12] thanks to the odd care doctors involved [8:14] number 13 the pharmacist it's only a [8:18] matter of time until this one gets [8:19] turned into a biopic it's that good we [8:22] were creating addicts all over this [8:24] country the dude could have did things [8:26] to stop this but they saw the profits in [8:29] 1999 disappointed by apathetic police [8:32] efforts small town pharmacist Dan [8:34] Schneider took it upon himself to solve [8:36] the murder of his son who was killed [8:37] while buying drugs I started noticing a [8:40] lot of kids around my son's age [8:43] 18 19 20 25 year old [8:46] healthy people [8:48] coming in with high powered opiate [8:50] prescriptions this Quest For Justice [8:52] soon evolves however into a battle [8:54] against the growing Oxycontin epidemic [8:56] like something out of a crime Thriller [8:58] this mild-mannered pharmacist uncovers a [9:00] trail of corruption and profit [9:01] maximizing principles that goes all the [9:03] way up to the top implicating big Pharma [9:05] Dr klinget was putting these people [9:07] straight to Oxycontin 40 milligrams she [9:11] never started in that reduced Doses and [9:13] then worked their way up it's an [9:15] incredible story sure but the [9:16] docu-series also highlights the [9:18] complexities of opioid abuse and the [9:20] ways in which it ties into questions of [9:22] poverty substance use disorder and the [9:24] American Health Care System I'm now an [9:26] only child [9:28] so different without him around [9:30] number 12. Madoff the monster of Wall [9:33] Street this God was a demon a devil [9:39] Bernie Madoff has been arrested a [9:42] prominent figure on Wall Street Bernie [9:43] Madoff was at one time the chairman of [9:45] the NASDAQ Stock Exchange he was also a [9:48] fraudster who ran the largest Ponzi [9:50] scheme in history the SEC ignored [9:53] warnings for years how could he fooled [9:55] so many people for so long [9:57] what happened was so avoidable and so [10:01] many people enabled it to happen because [10:03] of greed then in December 2008 Madoff [10:06] confessed to his sons Finance can be a [10:09] dry subject but this documentary is more [10:11] sprightly than snoozy unpacking the [10:13] complex subject matter to tell a [10:15] fast-paced thriller it also aims wider [10:18] and examines larger questions about the [10:19] financial industry and the role of greed [10:21] within it the only people who can [10:24] deceive you completely are people you [10:26] trust completely [10:29] in the price of trusting anyone is that [10:33] they can betray you like that number 11. [10:36] conversations with a killer the Ted [10:37] Bundy tapes he insisted that he was [10:41] innocent [10:42] I wanted him to tell me who was he [10:46] Netflix has found great success with [10:48] their conversations with a killer series [10:49] but the Ted Bundy iteration has to be [10:51] the most compelling of them all [10:53] featuring archival footage and extensive [10:55] interviews the documentary covers the [10:58] Wild and wicked story of the infamous [10:59] serial killer it highlights Bundy's most [11:01] heinous crimes including his murderous [11:04] Rampage at Akai Omega sorority house in [11:06] 1978. the main pull of this dock are the [11:09] words of Bundy himself which mostly come [11:11] in the form of a death row interview [11:13] with Stephen Michaud feeling cheated [11:15] wrong insecure [11:18] sides upon young attractive women being [11:21] is victim number 10 making a murderer [11:25] this was arguably Netflix's first mega [11:28] hit of a true crime docu-series [11:29] inspiring countless imitators and I mean [11:32] knowing her I mean what are your [11:34] feelings for her parents and [11:36] they must be going through hell making a [11:38] murderer follows the story of Steven [11:40] Avery a man who was wrongfully convicted [11:42] of attempted murder and sexual assault [11:44] it appears that an attempt [11:46] was made [11:48] to dispose of a body he served 18 years [11:51] for a crime he didn't commit then just [11:53] two years after his release with his [11:55] civil case pending against the county to [11:56] the tune of 36 million dollars Avery [11:59] once again found himself under arrest [12:01] this time for murder [12:07] across the first season of the series [12:09] we're presented with a riveting tale of [12:11] questionable police work and an alleged [12:13] frame-up the second season doesn't pack [12:15] quite the same punch but is a worthy [12:18] investigation of the U.S legal system [12:20] they got our family all torrent apart [12:25] it's not right number nine wormwood the [12:28] CIA ran a covert mind control operation [12:31] called project MK Ultra I ran into a [12:33] couple of guys one who just left the CIA [12:35] who said if you think Watergate [12:36] something he's in effect he said find [12:39] out what we've been doing that sentence [12:40] might sound like something from a [12:41] conspiracy theory Reddit thread comic [12:43] book or sci-fi flick but it is now a [12:46] matter of public record it confirms [12:48] there was domestic spying on American [12:50] civilians unlawful wiretaps the opening [12:53] of private mail even a drug testing [12:55] program involving the use of LSD against [12:58] unsuspecting Persons Of course before it [13:01] came to the attention of the masses the [13:02] vast majority of the documentation was [13:04] destroyed by order of then CIA director [13:06] Richard Helms and so decades later even [13:09] armed with the surviving Declassified [13:10] documents we are still putting together [13:12] the pieces you are in Fort Dietrich [13:15] where some 600 military and civilian [13:17] scientists worked together in research [13:19] at the Army biological Laboratories [13:22] to protect this country against a [13:25] biological attack in this six-part [13:26] mini-series documentary filmmaker Errol [13:29] Morris explores the cia's use of LSD the [13:31] suspicious death of scientist Eric Olson [13:33] and the enduring mystery of MK Ultra [13:35] number eight the vowel ESP Nexium [13:40] is a methodology [13:43] that allows people to optimize their [13:49] experience and behavior this tantalizing [13:52] HBO documentary covers one of the [13:54] scariest Revelations of the 2010s Nexium [13:57] was supposedly a corporation that hosted [13:59] self-help seminars in reality it was a [14:02] vicious cult led by an abuser and human [14:04] trafficker named Keith Ranieri The Vow [14:07] covers the barbarous story of Nexium and [14:09] features dramatic interviews with past [14:11] members everything was designed to [14:14] protect him I got played and I helped [14:17] this guy build whatever he was building [14:18] around him and I was a part of that they [14:21] delve into the cult's inner workings and [14:23] how people were drawn in it also details [14:26] how Smallville Star Allison Mack joined [14:28] Nexium and became a powerful and [14:30] sadistic subordinate of renaries The Vow [14:32] is equal parts harrowing and gripping [14:34] but it's also a sad story about people [14:36] who were searching for happiness and [14:38] instead were exploited by the cult [14:40] number seven don't f with cats hunting [14:44] an internet killer murder meet the [14:46] internet age there's no mystery in this [14:48] three-part Netflix original but that [14:50] doesn't make it any less compelling [14:51] bingeable or disturbing and so I was on [14:54] Facebook one day and I found a post [14:58] a lot of people have been feverishly [15:00] posting about a video Don't with cats [15:02] follows the rise to infamy of convicted [15:04] murderer Luca magnata from the [15:06] perspective of a community of online [15:07] sleuths now it doesn't necessarily mean [15:09] that the person didn't buy a pack of [15:11] cigarettes and then hop on a plane to [15:13] Paris or you know Berlin but I knew they [15:17] were North American cigarettes magnata [15:18] filmed himself killing a university [15:19] student named Jin Lin and posted it [15:22] online subsequently becoming one of the [15:24] most Wanted men in the world hi my name [15:26] is Luca make nod is my last name [15:30] m-a-g-n-o-t-t-a before that however he's [15:32] thought to have been behind a video [15:33] involving the torture and killing of two [15:35] kittens that's the video that rallied an [15:38] internet community and this documentary [15:40] is the story of how they tried to bring [15:41] him to Justice before he could kill [15:43] again that looks exactly like the Petro [15:46] Canada gas station that I see in the [15:48] photo of Luca and guess what [15:51] that large gray cement apartment [15:54] building is directly behind it number [15:56] six Evil Genius the true story of [15:59] America's most diabolical bank heist [16:01] watch this document series at your own [16:03] risk you may never be able to enjoy [16:05] Pizza quite like you did before or feel [16:07] comfortable going to the bank this [16:09] deadly robbery has to be one of the [16:11] strangest crimes in American history [16:13] Evil Genius tells the convoluted story [16:15] of Brian Wells a man who after [16:17] completing a bank heist was killed when [16:19] the explosive device on the collar [16:20] around his neck went off we are hopeful [16:22] that by showing a picture of the device [16:26] someone may have Wrecking or may [16:29] recognize [16:30] the instrument it's [16:32] like a comic book or the saw franchise [16:34] though the nature of Well's death is [16:36] indeed morbid it's just one small piece [16:38] of a complicated puzzle that will have [16:40] you on the edge of your seat the [16:42] Marjorie steel [16:44] d-i-e-h-l okay and Mark your deal is at [16:47] that residence now yes who is she to you [16:49] sir [16:50] uh I'll give you guys my story later on [16:53] number five the Jinx the life and depths [16:57] of Robert Durst the True Crime genre is [16:59] full of stories about people who went to [17:01] jail for crimes they allegedly did not [17:02] commit less common however are Tales of [17:05] suspected murderers who walk free [17:07] despite being linked to the deaths of [17:09] multiple people the guy looks like a [17:11] librarian [17:13] he doesn't look like a a person that [17:16] would dismember a human being but [17:18] getting such an individual to agree to [17:20] be interviewed for a docu-series that's [17:22] almost unheard of why would a guy with [17:25] 520 in his pocket and thirty seven [17:28] thousand dollars in the trunk walk into [17:30] a Wegmans and steal a sandwich the guy [17:35] is crying out to be arrested isn't he [17:37] the Jinx explores The Disappearance of [17:39] Robert durst's wife Kathy as well as the [17:41] murders of his friend Susan Berman and [17:43] neighbor Morris black Durst was [17:45] considered a suspect in all three I am [17:48] complicit and Kathy's not being here we [17:51] won't give away the ending but unlike so [17:53] many docu-series of its kind this story [17:56] actually has a relatively satisfying [17:57] conclusion with no shortage of twists [18:00] along the way number four Wild Wild [18:03] Country who's ready to take a trip down [18:05] the rabbit hole American history is made [18:07] up of all manner of odd characters and [18:09] strange chapters but few can hold a [18:11] candle to that of the rajnish param [18:13] community now there are two ways [18:16] either repress sex as it has been done [18:19] by all the so-called religious [18:21] traditions of the world are [18:24] transformative this controversial group [18:26] led by Guru bhagwan Shri rajnish left [18:29] India in the 1980s and settled in Wasco [18:32] County Oregon though the community [18:33] seemed to center around sexual [18:34] Liberation meditation and dancing [18:36] rajnish was equally known for his love [18:38] of material wealth beautiful city [18:41] example for the universe as the story [18:43] progresses the dream soon begins to [18:45] unravel as tensions rise between [18:47] rajneeshpuram and the locals of Wasco [18:49] County Sheila former Secretary of the [18:51] bhagwan rajneesh faces charges of Fraud [18:54] and attempted murder in Oregon [18:56] bioterrorism a Rolls-Royce collection [18:58] power struggles and questions of [19:00] constitutional Freedom this documentary [19:03] has got it all when you have a basically [19:05] unstable personality coupled with [19:07] tremendous power over enormous numbers [19:09] of people you have a potentially lethal [19:12] Situation Number Three Tiger King Wild [19:15] Wild Country might have the word wild in [19:17] its title twice but when it comes to [19:19] docu-series it simply doesn't get any [19:21] more wild than Tiger King gummy you sexy [19:24] beast hi little man this explosively [19:28] popular Netflix original series broke [19:30] the internet in March of 2020 becoming a [19:32] true cultural phenomenon it's about big [19:35] cat collectors breeders and [19:36] conservationists specifically it focuses [19:39] on the bitter feud between Joe Exotic [19:41] and Carol Baskin two figures on opposing [19:43] sides of the big cat debate Carol [19:45] baskin's third husband and they can't [19:47] find his body okay we believe that she [19:49] fed him to the Tigers both are wildly [19:51] eccentric individuals and as filmmakers [19:54] Eric good and Rebecca chaklin unravel [19:55] this complex narrative the twists and [19:57] shocking reveals come fast and heavy but [20:00] honestly no plot summary can prepare you [20:02] for the insanity of Tiger King you just [20:04] have to watch it for yourself about an [20:06] hour ago we had an incident where one of [20:08] the employees stuck their arm through [20:09] the cage and the tiger tore her arm off [20:12] I can give you your money back or I can [20:15] give you a rain check number two OJ [20:18] America we have jury in the above and [20:20] title action [20:21] pendant or [20:23] orenthal James Simpson not guilty of a [20:25] crime of murder in violation of penal [20:27] Colt section 187 a a felony upon Nicole [20:30] Brown Simpson one of the finest [20:32] documentaries of the 2010s OJ made in [20:35] America received a Peabody and the [20:37] Academy Award for best documentary it is [20:39] a five-part epic spanning nearly eight [20:42] hours in length detailing in highly [20:44] specific fashion the life of O.J Simpson [20:46] it covers all there is to cover from [20:49] Simpson's early life to his [20:50] record-breaking football career to his [20:52] Infamous murder trial and Las Vegas [20:53] robbery if you woke up and heard that [20:56] O.J Simpson is back in the news and [20:58] under arrest rest assured it's not [21:00] Groundhog Day this time though he's in a [21:03] jail cell in Las Vegas after a [21:05] confrontation apparently caught on tape [21:08] but it's not just a true crime series [21:09] about one of the most famous cases in [21:11] modern history as the title made in [21:13] America suggests the documentary also [21:16] examines the American dream and [21:18] systematic issues in American society [21:20] before we continue be sure to subscribe [21:22] to our Channel and ring the bell to get [21:24] notified about our latest videos you [21:26] have the option to be notified for [21:28] occasional videos or all of them if [21:30] you're on your phone make sure you go [21:31] into your settings and switch on [21:33] notifications [21:35] number one the staircase though perhaps [21:39] best known today as a Netflix original [21:40] the first season of
