# Google Doesn't Care About Quality Content. Here's Why.

> Source: [Google Doesn't Care About Quality Content. Here's Why.](https://youtube.com/watch?v=fKd1zHxZryI)

## Summary

This video argues that Google prioritizes user experience and choice over 'quality content' as defined by creators. It uses the example of gym shoe reviews to illustrate that searchers want options, not just a single recommendation.

### Key Points

- **Google's Ranking Priority** [00:00] — Google ranks pages based on what searchers want, not on creator-defined quality. For 'best gym shoes' searches, users want options and a shopping experience.
- **UX Feature for Affiliate Sites** [00:00] — A good affiliate site provides an end-to-end shopping experience with prices, colors, sizes, and inventory information via API, which improves user experience and rankings.

### Conclusion

To rank well on Google, content creators should focus on user experience and offering choices rather than just producing what they consider high-quality content.

## Transcript

Google doesn't care about quality content. Here's why. We look at this and we say, "Why why is Google ranking this this page? Like, my my content is way better. Like, they're only recommending this shoe and this shoe. These are terrible shoes." But that's not necessarily what the searcher wants. When people are searching for things like best gym shoes, they want options. Most of Jake's review pages that I saw only had one to two choices. The second UX feature I showed Jake, an affiliate site that gives an end toend shopping experience. They see the prices, they see the colors, they see whether it's men's or women's. They can choose the size and you can get all that inventory information which is done through API. From a user experience perspective, that's amazing.
