[00:01] channel in today's video I'm going to be walking you guys through my hypothetical that I completely made up but the stages of being a twitch streamer from stage one just getting started to stage five a plateau anyways let's get into it [00:18] [Music] I've actually talked about this on stream like three separate times and I've lost all three vods for it so I'm that apparently doesn't exist so I'm just gonna go and walk you guys through [00:32] in a pre-recorded YouTube video because I'm I'm tired of losing my vods but this I'm I'm tired of losing my vods but this is my theory of the five stages of being a twitch streamer so let me know in the comment section down below which stage [00:45] you are in also I am pulling this up in my best friend Ms paints I love making these scuffed drawings oh I should make me make it purple because twitch alright me make it purple because twitch alright so here is our graph so on the x-axis we [00:57] have time and on the y-axis we have CCV which also stands for concurrent viewers I've gotten that question a lot and that's what CCV stands for I'm gonna go and use a lighter purple and draw the timeline of twitch and let's break this [01:12] down so here is my graph as to what I think the timeline of being a twitch streamer looks like if you've been on Twitch enough and let's break this down so over here we have I'll use a little thinner Line This [01:28] is stage one and then here we have stage two and then stage two and then we have stage three and then we have stage four and five so [01:40] let me number this on top and you might be like a cat where did you come up with this hold it on my ass no I'm kidding or maybe am I anyways let me explain stage one in your Twitch streaming career you have no average viewers or very low [01:57] maybe it's you Commander root and feet just chilling in your stream together and maybe your mom but you really don't know what's going on here you are very very confused you basically like only figured out how to press the go live [02:11] button what's an alert what's a raid like no idea what any of these so you're just brand new stage two is where you start figuring out hey uh in order to grow on Twitch I actually need to do more than just hit go live so here you [02:25] kind of start having a little Epiphany and realizing oh I need to probably make a brand and I need to probably make content on other social media so people [02:37] can discover Me Maybe you saw a tick tock of mine telling you advice or maybe my YouTube videos teaching you how to be a quote unquote better streamer it's all maybe you watch Harris hall or somebody else up to you whichever floats your [02:53] boat but you basically realize that there are things you need to do to grow network with other streamers Etc and your con your CCV starts picking up your con your CCV starts picking up linearly so you will grow and gain [03:06] average viewers at a linear rate which means you're like slowly gaining average viewers but it's it's a pretty flat slope here a very small angle three slope here a very small angle three is the golden stage this or sorry it's [03:20] it's one of the two golden stages so stage three is this exponential growth stage three is this exponential growth you will Skyrocket from being at wherever you were at the end of stage two up until wherever you end sorry [03:34] that's really big but it's exponential growth so you go from a linear growth to an exponential growth in your average viewer account and your followers gain Etc this stage is when all of the brainstorming and realizing [03:48] what you need to change everything is kind of clicking everything is working so it kind of like all your epiphanies and things like that you've applied it to your stream and you're reaping the rewards for it now and it could take a [04:03] happen it could be a couple months it could be like a year a year or two for all these little things to kind of like piece together but when it does you're going to be experiencing a massive exponential growth so it's kind of like [04:16] exponential growth so it's kind of like a fire lit under your butt maybe there's a prime moment in your life where you're able to dedicate more time into content creation and being a streamer but your growth is upwards exponentially stage [04:31] four is typically where people get partnered so stage four is where you've partnered so stage four is where you've this exponential growth will carry on a [04:43] little bit more and you'll reach a peak of your average viewer account in which you hit partner and or a lot of people hit partner at and or a lot of people hit partner at this peak if not if that didn't happen a [04:57] lot of people tend to flip-flop between stages three and four and I will finish lot of people flip-flop between these two and you can flip-flop between like a lot of stages as well you can flip-flop between like one or two three and four [05:10] but in this stage you continue the exponential growth and then you will hit a peak and then you get partnered some at some point anywhere from like here to around here when you're just about to hit the peak when you're just on the [05:24] come up and then maybe like a little bit after on the fall you'll hit partner but then you experience the pit of despair this is where a lot of content creators or a lot of streamers kind of go to die or their [05:38] career they just like quit a lot of people quit at this point but it is when your viewer account plummets after hitting partner it's when you experience that drop and unfortunately I really have to say for most people this drop is [05:53] have to say for most people this drop is inevitable you're going to have this exponential growth but this exponential growth cannot carry on forever so once this exponential growth becomes linear growth it kind of actually will look [06:06] like a drop off and the drop-off could be a different different levels of severity but typically if you partner push the drop is going to be way bigger than if you did not partner push but you're going to be experiencing a [06:19] massive drop in viewer accounts and a lot of people they they get ruined here they're mental their mental goes down they're really sad they're really upset it makes them question their validity as a streamer as a content creator which I [06:35] completely understand but not all hope is lost right well like I had mentioned prior a lot of people flip-flop between stages three and four so a lot of people will reach a viewer count Peak and then their viewers will drop they'll drop in [06:47] viewership they'll have a crisis whatever they'll be feeling really upset whatever they'll be feeling really upset and then they will go and maybe try to change things up again try to improve their stream and then let me use this [07:00] exponential growth or another like growth upwards maybe you won't reach the maximum Peak you reached prior but you'll get kind of close up there and it might dip down a little bit but you get like a Redemption Arc for stage four so [07:14] say just three and four a lot but stage four this pit of despair is where a lot of content creators kind of Peter out at and I can make another video talking about ways to go and kind of keep your mental up ways you can try to lessen in [07:31] average viewer account hitting partner but the drop is completely normal it will happen it's inevitable but there's things you can do to try to mitigate it and then stage five is stage five onwards to Eternity so your viewer [07:46] while like after that pit up despair after falling down here after being really upset and questioning your worth most content creators here kind of will take a little bit of a break whatever but they'll come back swing in they'll [07:59] come back rejuvenated and with more energy and with kind of like a little energy and with kind of like a little bit more of uh older outlook on content bit more of uh older outlook on content creation if you will and kind of realize [08:11] a little bit better but you also realize that this is the reality and you may not hit these numbers again or maybe you will but you know streaming isn't for numbers whatever you kind of have that [08:23] Epiphany that numbers don't matter anymore and your viewer account will go up because you start streaming for personal enjoyment rather than streaming to make numbers and then your numbers might ebb and flow they might fluctuate [08:35] a little bit but you end up hitting a plateau at around here and this Plateau is great because with with this Plateau you can open up your stream and you can guarantee like basically 70 viewers per stream [08:47] or at least guarantee like 50 viewers per stream around this Plateau so maybe in the beginning in the pit of the spirit that 50 viewers seemed very low from your partner numbers of like 150 but opening up your stream to just 50 [09:04] people chilling there is amazing it is mind-blowing 50 people are just willing to put time aside in their day to go watch you that's crazy but once you hit this Plateau anything goes after this after you hit this Plateau you could [09:18] Skyrocket upwards you could also maybe quit streaming your numbers go down you can maintain the plateau this is kind of the unknown after after that little the unknown after after that little Plateau that happens but at least in the [09:31] beginning stages quote unquote beginning of a streaming career from when you get afterwards this is typically the trajectory that I've seen so let me know if you think this is true let me know if you think I'm full of BS are you seeing [09:45] people that I know who is followed a very similar trajectory but yeah if you like this video please like And subscribe that means so much to me I also have a coffee where I have free resources like a 13-page PDF on how to [09:59] resources like a 13-page PDF on how to grow and use tick tock a list of 115 sponsors and growing a notion board template on how I keep track of my sponsorships Etc a lot of free resources so check it out it's [10:11]
