[0:00] Hello there, and welcome back to another [0:01] video. Today, we're going to talk about [0:03] the Sunstrider Omnium or the Omnium [0:06] Folio, which is a brand new borrowed [0:09] power system in patch 12.0.7. In this [0:12] video, we're going to go through [0:13] everything that you need to know about [0:14] this brand new system that is coming in [0:16] patch 12.0.7 of Midnight. But, before we [0:19] jump into that, I do want to let you [0:20] know that I am streaming on [0:21] twitch.tv/mistergm. [0:23] If you want to see me stream World of [0:24] Warcraft Midnight, Midnight PTR, any [0:26] sort of wow, come over on [0:27] twitch.tv/mistergm. [0:30] Right, so yes, the Omnium Folio. This is [0:33] a new borrowed power system coming in [0:35] patch 12.0.7. As of the recording of [0:37] this, we do not have an official release [0:38] date for 12.0.7, but it is heavily [0:41] rumored to be June 16th or 17th, [0:43] depending on your region. Now, borrowed [0:45] power has always been kind of a part of [0:47] these point seven patches for a while [0:49] now. We had the Onyx Annulet, Cersei's [0:51] Circlet, the Titan Disc Belt, but this [0:54] one is slightly different as this is not [0:56] an item, but a passive buff with a [1:00] talent tree. So, this will be available [1:02] on day one of the patch, and to unlock [1:05] it, it is just unlocked through a fairly [1:06] short quest line that starts in [1:08] Silvermoon. This quest line will take [1:09] you over to the Magisters' Terrace with [1:11] Magister Umbric and Grand Magister [1:13] Romath. Once the Omnium Folio has been [1:16] unlocked, you do access it from a new [1:18] icon on your mini map where the previous [1:20] expansion icons were. And the great news [1:22] here is once it is unlocked, it is [1:23] unlocked on all of your level 90 [1:25] characters automatically. You don't need [1:27] to speak to any NPCs or anything like [1:29] that. You simply log in and it will be [1:31] there. Now, as I mentioned, this does [1:33] have a talent tree, and this talent tree [1:35] has five nodes which are unlocked [1:37] weekly. So, it will take five weeks to [1:39] unlock the whole thing. Now, the good [1:41] news is that the way that it's upgraded [1:43] can be done completely solo and does not [1:45] take much effort. It is simply just a [1:47] weekly quest to get something from a [1:48] specific activity. So, week one will be [1:51] free. In week two, you have to do one [1:53] ritual site. In week three, you have to [1:56] do five void assaults. In week four, you [1:58] can either do a dungeon, delve, or kill [2:00] a raid finder boss. And in week five, [2:03] you have to head into the new mini zone, [2:05] complete three world quests, and defeat [2:07] the world boss. These upgrades are also [2:09] completely account-wide. So, once it's [2:11] done on your main, your alts will have [2:13] instant access to the full talent tree. [2:15] So, let's talk about the talent tree [2:17] next and what kind of powers you're [2:18] going to be getting from this. So, there [2:19] are five nodes in total, with some of [2:22] them just being one option and others [2:23] being choice nodes with up to four [2:25] choices. Now, as of the recording of [2:27] this, these abilities do not scale with [2:30] your item level. So, I'll say numbers, [2:32] but of course, they are absolutely [2:34] subject to change. Now, the basic way [2:35] that this works is that you choose your [2:37] main power at the top and then the [2:38] powers below it will change and upgrade [2:41] the first power. So, in week one, you [2:43] will have access to your main power, and [2:45] this is called the core rune. You have [2:47] two choices here. You have the Rune of [2:49] Void Touch Orbs. It says, "Every 10 [2:51] seconds, you attract a void orb to you [2:52] with a maximum of five." Your attack [2:54] sends these orbs at your enemy, dealing [2:56] 2,745 [2:58] cosmic damage for each. Your healing [3:00] spells send the orbs at the lowest [3:01] health ally, restoring 4,116 [3:05] health for each orb. Or the other option [3:08] is the Rune of Unleash Fire. It says, [3:10] "Your spells and abilities have a chance [3:11] to cool down a pillar of fire, dealing [3:13] 2,745 [3:15] fire damage to an enemy, or cauterizing [3:17] the wounds of a nearby ally, restoring [3:19] 4,116 [3:21] health." So, in week two, we have a [3:23] choice node. This is a choice of three. [3:25] You have the Rune of Self-Mending. It [3:26] says, "When below 75% health, your core [3:29] rune also heals you for 4,116 [3:32] health." You also have the Rune of [3:34] Void-Tainted Shell. It says, "When [3:35] struck for more than 10% of your maximum [3:37] health, you gain an absorb shield that [3:39] will absorb 18,000 damage, but 50% of [3:42] the absorbed amount will linger, dealing [3:44] its damage over 10 seconds. This effect [3:46] can only occur every 30 seconds." And [3:48] your final choice is the Rune of [3:50] Lingering Reflexes. It says, "When [3:52] struck in combat it increases your speed [3:53] by 115 for 10 seconds and it cannot [3:56] occur more than every 30 seconds with a [3:59] 30-second cooldown. After that, we have [4:01] the Lingering Rune. This is just one [4:03] option here and this is the Rune of [4:05] Lingering. Says the effects of your core [4:07] rune leave behind a periodic effect that [4:09] deals 2,745 cosmic damage or restores [4:12] 1,116 health over 8 seconds based on [4:15] whether the target is an enemy or an [4:17] ally. Your core rune favors hitting [4:19] targets that are unaffected by the Rune [4:21] of Lingering. After that, in week four, [4:24] we have a choice node and this has four [4:26] options. Each of these runes are procced [4:28] by your core rune and increase your [4:30] rating by 78. So, you have the Rune of [4:32] Critical Power that increases your [4:34] critical strike rating. You have the [4:35] Rune of Burning Haste, which increases [4:37] your haste. You have the Rune of [4:39] Masterful Cunning, which increases your [4:41] mastery. And you have the Rune of the [4:43] Versatile Warrior, which increases your [4:45] versatility. And finally, at the end, [4:47] you have a choice node with three [4:48] choices. You have the Rune of the [4:50] Overlord, which increases the [4:52] effectiveness of your core rune ability [4:54] by 100% or you could choose the Rune of [4:56] Residual Energy, which increases the [4:58] effectiveness of your Rune of Lingering [5:00] by 100% or finally, the Rune of Echoes, [5:03] which says the effects of your core rune [5:05] leave behind an echoing curse on your [5:07] target. After 10 seconds, an echo of all [5:09] the damage and healing done by your core [5:11] rune and lingering runes is repeated at [5:14] 50% effectiveness. So, yeah, that is [5:17] your full talent tree as of the [5:18] recording of this. Now, once you do [5:20] fully upgrade your talent tree, you do [5:21] get an achievement and that achievement [5:23] does reward a decor version of the [5:25] Sunstrider Omnium that you can place in [5:28] your house, which is pretty cool and you [5:30] can purchase more of these for Voidlight [5:32] Isle if you want to. So, that is the [5:34] Sunstrider Omnium and the Omnium Folio. [5:36] Overall, the system seems pretty [5:38] harmless and is going to help people [5:39] reach their goals in season one. Now, I [5:42] feel like having it as a passive buff is [5:44] just a much better way of going about it [5:46] than having to completely replace a [5:47] piece of gear. And obviously, let's be [5:49] realistic here, people are just going to [5:51] look up the best builds and then set it [5:53] and forget it. So, seems like an [5:55] interesting system. Let me know in the [5:56] comments your thoughts on this. Let me [5:58] know your thoughts on like borrowed [5:59] power in general. What do you think of [6:00] the other ones that we've had in the [6:01] past? Is this something Blizzard should [6:03] continue, or do you think this is [6:04] something that should be left in the [6:05] past? Let me know your thoughts in the [6:07] comments.
