Hello there, and welcome back to another
video. Today, we're going to talk about
the Sunstrider Omnium or the Omnium
Folio, which is a brand new borrowed
power system in patch 12.0.7. In this
video, we're going to go through
everything that you need to know about
this brand new system that is coming in
patch 12.0.7 of Midnight. But, before we
jump into that, I do want to let you
know that I am streaming on
twitch.tv/mistergm.
If you want to see me stream World of
Warcraft Midnight, Midnight PTR, any
sort of wow, come over on
twitch.tv/mistergm.
Right, so yes, the Omnium Folio. This is
a new borrowed power system coming in
patch 12.0.7. As of the recording of
this, we do not have an official release
date for 12.0.7, but it is heavily
rumored to be June 16th or 17th,
depending on your region. Now, borrowed
power has always been kind of a part of
these point seven patches for a while
now. We had the Onyx Annulet, Cersei's
Circlet, the Titan Disc Belt, but this
one is slightly different as this is not
an item, but a passive buff with a
talent tree. So, this will be available
on day one of the patch, and to unlock
it, it is just unlocked through a fairly
short quest line that starts in
Silvermoon. This quest line will take
you over to the Magisters' Terrace with
Magister Umbric and Grand Magister
Romath. Once the Omnium Folio has been
unlocked, you do access it from a new
icon on your mini map where the previous
expansion icons were. And the great news
here is once it is unlocked, it is
unlocked on all of your level 90
characters automatically. You don't need
to speak to any NPCs or anything like
that. You simply log in and it will be
there. Now, as I mentioned, this does
have a talent tree, and this talent tree
has five nodes which are unlocked
weekly. So, it will take five weeks to
unlock the whole thing. Now, the good
news is that the way that it's upgraded
can be done completely solo and does not
take much effort. It is simply just a
weekly quest to get something from a
specific activity. So, week one will be
free. In week two, you have to do one
ritual site. In week three, you have to
do five void assaults. In week four, you
can either do a dungeon, delve, or kill
a raid finder boss. And in week five,
you have to head into the new mini zone,
complete three world quests, and defeat
the world boss. These upgrades are also
completely account-wide. So, once it's
done on your main, your alts will have
instant access to the full talent tree.
So, let's talk about the talent tree
next and what kind of powers you're
going to be getting from this. So, there
are five nodes in total, with some of
them just being one option and others
being choice nodes with up to four
choices. Now, as of the recording of
this, these abilities do not scale with
your item level. So, I'll say numbers,
but of course, they are absolutely
subject to change. Now, the basic way
that this works is that you choose your
main power at the top and then the
powers below it will change and upgrade
the first power. So, in week one, you
will have access to your main power, and
this is called the core rune. You have
two choices here. You have the Rune of
Void Touch Orbs. It says, "Every 10
seconds, you attract a void orb to you
with a maximum of five." Your attack
sends these orbs at your enemy, dealing
2,745
cosmic damage for each. Your healing
spells send the orbs at the lowest
health ally, restoring 4,116
health for each orb. Or the other option
is the Rune of Unleash Fire. It says,
"Your spells and abilities have a chance
to cool down a pillar of fire, dealing
2,745
fire damage to an enemy, or cauterizing
the wounds of a nearby ally, restoring
4,116
health." So, in week two, we have a
choice node. This is a choice of three.
You have the Rune of Self-Mending. It
says, "When below 75% health, your core
rune also heals you for 4,116
health." You also have the Rune of
Void-Tainted Shell. It says, "When
struck for more than 10% of your maximum
health, you gain an absorb shield that
will absorb 18,000 damage, but 50% of
the absorbed amount will linger, dealing
its damage over 10 seconds. This effect
can only occur every 30 seconds." And
your final choice is the Rune of
Lingering Reflexes. It says, "When
struck in combat it increases your speed
by 115 for 10 seconds and it cannot
occur more than every 30 seconds with a
30-second cooldown. After that, we have
the Lingering Rune. This is just one
option here and this is the Rune of
Lingering. Says the effects of your core
rune leave behind a periodic effect that
deals 2,745 cosmic damage or restores
1,116 health over 8 seconds based on
whether the target is an enemy or an
ally. Your core rune favors hitting
targets that are unaffected by the Rune
of Lingering. After that, in week four,
we have a choice node and this has four
options. Each of these runes are procced
by your core rune and increase your
rating by 78. So, you have the Rune of
Critical Power that increases your
critical strike rating. You have the
Rune of Burning Haste, which increases
your haste. You have the Rune of
Masterful Cunning, which increases your
mastery. And you have the Rune of the
Versatile Warrior, which increases your
versatility. And finally, at the end,
you have a choice node with three
choices. You have the Rune of the
Overlord, which increases the
effectiveness of your core rune ability
by 100% or you could choose the Rune of
Residual Energy, which increases the
effectiveness of your Rune of Lingering
by 100% or finally, the Rune of Echoes,
which says the effects of your core rune
leave behind an echoing curse on your
target. After 10 seconds, an echo of all
the damage and healing done by your core
rune and lingering runes is repeated at
50% effectiveness. So, yeah, that is
your full talent tree as of the
recording of this. Now, once you do
fully upgrade your talent tree, you do
get an achievement and that achievement
does reward a decor version of the
Sunstrider Omnium that you can place in
your house, which is pretty cool and you
can purchase more of these for Voidlight
Isle if you want to. So, that is the
Sunstrider Omnium and the Omnium Folio.
Overall, the system seems pretty
harmless and is going to help people
reach their goals in season one. Now, I
feel like having it as a passive buff is
just a much better way of going about it
than having to completely replace a
piece of gear. And obviously, let's be
realistic here, people are just going to
look up the best builds and then set it
and forget it. So, seems like an
interesting system. Let me know in the
comments your thoughts on this. Let me
know your thoughts on like borrowed
power in general. What do you think of
the other ones that we've had in the
past? Is this something Blizzard should
continue, or do you think this is
something that should be left in the
past? Let me know your thoughts in the
comments. And if you like this video,
