[00:14] and highlights use codeality on sign up there'll be a link in the description open davinci resolve is start a new project so you click new project down here and i'm going to call it tick tock example now we're going to input the
[00:26] easiest way to do this is just to find the footage that you have saved either in your downloads or another folder and drag it into the media pool over here in third icon from the left to open the editing timeline
[00:39] drag your footage from the media pool onto the timeline down here i now have my entire vod lined up on this timeline so first i'm going to do a rough cut i'm going to search my footage for the clips
[00:51] to waste time trying to make it perfect right now just cut around the parts that zoom in and out of the timeline with the plus and minus slider over here to cut a that's going to bring up the blade cursor
[01:06] cut and then hit a on your keyboard to go back to your regular cursor now i've made all my rough cuts here i'm don't need let me show you a little trick that means you don't have to drag
[01:19] to the front of the timeline when you delete the footage that you don't want want to delete like the entire start of my vod here hold shift and then backspace this is the keyboard shortcut for ripple delete
[01:33] it also works on clips in the middle and at the end of your timeline now that i with i'm going to zoom into my timeline and do all the finer cuts making sure i tick chocolate one of the pieces of advice that i have seen a lot is to keep
[01:47] shorter tick tock increases the likelihood that your viewers will watch it all the way to the end or re-watch it meaning your watch percentages will be high boosting it in the algorithm now i have my clips cut down i'm going to
[02:00] change the aspect ratio so it's suitable for tick-tock to update the aspect ratio go to file project settings under the master settings switch the timeline resolution from 1920x1080 to 1080 by 1920. now we need to zoom in the
[02:13] highlight all your clips on your timeline and come up to the video one of the zoom components you'll see the slider cursor come up and then you having all your clips highlighted in the timeline means that they all get zoomed
[02:27] gameplay that the action is taking place around the center of the screen usually centered around a crosshair or a mouse ui so when you zoom in you're not but if you need to move it left or right you can just use these position sliders
[02:42] to recenter the footage on the action we now have the core of our clips ready to this clip so highlight all of your video copy and paste now that you have a copy you don't need two audio tracks so highlight all of the pasted video right
[02:56] click and select link clips to link all these clips together and then do the separated from the video tracks highlight all the audio tracks and delete now we can re-highlight the video tracks and drop them on top of our
[03:09] two video tracks and one audio track that all match up highlight all of the top video tracks and then move the position over so the face cam is back in we're going to crop it just down from
[03:22] options use the sliders to crop around your face cam our last step for editing is positioning our face cam you may have noticed that tick tock will cut off the we want to make sure that we're not going to cut out a any action or b any
[03:37] tick tock to do that i use this tick tock template i will have a link to the so you can go save this template for yourself once you have the template saved drag it into your media pool just like you did with the video then drag
[03:50] that image on top of all your edited footage drag it out to the end of the position so that this template takes up the entire tick tock okay i have my down to the composite menu and you're going to drag down the
[04:03] opacity until you can see your content and the template now i can see where these red no-go zones are and these orange obscured zones are highlight all the footage for your face cam and then position so it lines up with the edges
[04:15] to get cut out when we upload now it's lined up you can go ahead and delete this template or you can just disable the video track so it's no longer seen in the timeline or your export and you can save this for later for all your
[04:27] future tick tock edits now we have all our footage and face cam step is to prepare for export what you're going to do is move your playhead the timeline here right click and select mark out you'll now see this grey line
[04:41] tells davinci resolve when to stop exporting instead of exporting your entire timeline which is mostly empty to export select file quick export select h265 you can also check your other settings here and then hit export all
[04:56] to tick-tock or other video platform the quick method i use to get my videos from my pc to my phone is through google drive i upload the clip through the download the google drive app on my phone and that way i'm able to quickly
