[00:15] applying for jobs, or answering job interview questions, let's dive in. First of all, I'm here to tell you, you're hireable. You're also in demand. You don't have zero experience. You have experience. Yes, I mean you. Don't think I can't see you.
[00:31] And sit up straight. While completing your education, what did you do? Overcome challenges, write reports, meet deadlines, solve problems, collaborate, learn technical things quickly, take initiative, coordinate group work, find information and act on it, complete projects,
[00:47] and get things done. In your personal life, what have you done? Had accomplishments? Achieved goals? Wait, wait, wait, before we move on, right there, if they ask you behavioral questions in a job interview, you can pull out examples from any of those things you've done.
[01:02] In a job, what are you required to do? Those things, and you've had prior experience doing all of them. See, they need employees to overcome challenges, write reports, meet deadlines, solve problems, collaborate, learn technical things quickly, take initiative, coordinate group work, find information and act on it,
[01:21] complete projects, achieve goals, and get things done, so it sounds like you're the right person. Now if you going for an entry type job and have no experience talk about how passionate you are about the job Why you passionate your situation your qualities how you understand the need for those qualities in this job that you going for Things like
[01:42] having a good work ethic, being a hard worker, trainable, honest, punctual, responsible, attentive to customers. You have them. Now demonstrate it with examples from your past experiences and always be upbeat and enthusiastic in interviews and other interactions with them.
[01:59] You got that, Duane? Now I'm also here to tell you there's something else you can do. Get the experience yourself. You don't need anyone's permission to start using your own skills.
[02:11] Do something. Create something. Put something out there. Write an article, a report, a study. Create a project, a design, a demonstration, a sample. Whatever your capability. Show it to other people.
[02:23] Use the internet. Let them see your capability, your dedication. It doesn't take any money or vast amounts of time to apply your own skills. And there's always a practical way to pull it off. What's the point of this? It shows people, this is what I can do, and I'm awesome at it.
[02:40] You want to stand out from other candidates? This will make you stand out. Great for resumes, great for job interviews, great for creating job opportunities, and branding yourself. And always remember, you're highly employable, and you're awesome.
