[00:01] just confirmed that this film is the true first chapter of the MCU's mutant saga. Hey, welcome back to Screen Crush. I'm Colton Ogburn. And it's pretty much confirmed that Sadie Sink is playing the classic X-Men character, the telepathic [00:14] mutant herself, Gan Gray. And in this film, we are seeing Spider-Man go through a mutation of his own. But those two nuggets of information aren't the only reasons that we think that Brand New Day is the first story of the Mutant [00:27] Saga. The true connection to this post secret war saga really lies in this film's villain, the department of damage control. The DODC and Treble Tilman's character, plus the inclusion of Bruce Banner's mutation inhibitor tech, have [00:41] convinced me that Brand New Day isn't simply a Spider-Man movie with a mutant in it. It's a mutant movie with a Spider-Man in it. Let me explain. So, synopsis for the film, claims that this [00:54] villain of the movie. And of course, many believe this minehopper to be Gan Gray, and it is kind of. Gene is being controlled and used for her power by an organization that is going to be a thorn in the side of Spider-Man, the X-Men, [01:08] the Avengers, the Fantastic 4, and all of our other heroes for years to come. In fact, they are likely going to be the cause of the second Marvel Civil War. In the trailers for Brand New Day, we have seen Gene locked up and shackled to a [01:21] chair in what I think is almost certainly a DODC facility. In fact, there was a small omission from this trailer that was actually in the leaked actually confirm that it isn't Matt Murdoch that Spider-Man is breaking out [01:34] of this prison. It is Gan Gray. You see, the DODC and its new boss, who I think is William Mezer, a mutant-hating propagandist from the comics, I believe he is yet another stoogge of Valentina Algra Dave Fontaine, who remember has [01:47] already dipped her toe into this street level corner of the MCU in Daredevil Fontaine. >> In Born again, we learn that Valentina has been using super people like Luke Cage for Black Ops missions around the [02:02] globe. And now they've even got Bullseye in as a recruit who, side note, is totally a mutant. Now, it's clear to me that Valentina has one goal and one goal only, controlling power and wielding it as her own. That's why she had such an [02:15] hired skilled assassins like those who are now the new Avengers. That's why she created Sentry. And that is why she claimed the new Avengers as her own. With the mutant epidemic rising in the MCU and more mutant genes activating, [02:29] such as with Miss Marvel and now with Spider-Man, two characters that are traditionally not mutants in the comics, you can bet your ass that Valentina is going to have a very big interest in controlling this new rising power known [02:42] as mutation, the next stage of human evolution. And someone with the telepathic abilities of Gan Gray will be of particular interest to Val. With the power of mind control, Valentina wouldn't need a propagandist like Mezer [02:55] or the Daily Bugle to do her dirty work. She could simply brainwash the world into thinking the way she wants them to think. And as we'll discuss here in a second, Valentina and the DODC will be orchestrating many false flag operations [03:08] throughout this film to trick the public and even Spider-Man into fearing mutants. Now, in the comics, the animated series, and in the films, we've misrepresented by the media. Fear-mongering campaigns were conducted [03:21] to make the public hate mutants. In fact, it is rumored that this character actually William Mezer, a character from the comics who would use media propaganda to smear mutants. And while that's all pretend, it is actually a [03:34] commentary on our real world and real media propaganda. And that is why knowing the sources and political leanings and biases of the news you consume is super important. Which is why I use the ground news app and website. [03:48] instance, here's a story about Trump saying the Iranians leaked untrue terms of a peace agreement. This was reported on by 49 outlets, but depending on where be completely different. Left-leaning sources use words like bristle and [04:02] grouse to describe Trump, and they focus on the actual terms of the leaked deal. other hand, simply take Trump at his word and repeat his assertion that the deal is fake news. You see, ground news gathers related articles from across the [04:16] world into one place. I can see how many sources reported on this story and how more importantly, I can see who owns those news sources. That way, I know who has an angle in telling this story a certain way. They even have a blind spot [04:31] section that shows you news stories that each side is ignoring. For instance, Trump's approval rating is rapidly falling with independence. A story that with the left-leaning outlets, we have a scenario where they are barely reporting [04:46] on this story about the CEO of Act Blue pleading the fifth during a House hearing. So if your algorithm is tailored to just one side or the other, from the other side. We've been using Ground News here for years and I highly [04:59] encourage you to check them out. Your subscription will not only help this [05:11] channel, but you'll also be supporting an independent platform working to make Now, back to what I was saying. You see, Valentina, she wants to control power and wield it as her own. And when those with power become no longer useful to [05:24] her or serve as a liability, she removes them from the board, just like she Walker, and Taskmaster at the beginning of Thunderbolts. >> We are the evidence, and this is the shredder. She wants us gone. It looks [05:38] like Valentina is rounding up super people and giving them two options. Work for me or be locked up or killed. That's what she did with Luke Cage by his daughter. That's what she's doing with Bullseye and his fear of winding [05:50] back up in prison. Granted, Bullseye probably was open to the idea of having like this new purpose in life, but if he ever tries to quit, they'll totally Anyway, that is what Valentina and the DODC are doing with characters like [06:03] Scorpion and I think Boomerang, Tarantula, and even The Hand. With Me Fist now gone and vigilantes being destigmatized and embraced by society once again, the DoD, a government agency, is going to have trouble [06:16] securing funding and justifying its own existence. So, enter the villains and soon after a smear campaign against mutants. In the comics, Mezer floods the airwaves with anti-mutant propaganda, kind of like the MCU's J. Jonah Jameson. [06:29] But this version of Mezer, or whoever he's secretly playing, will have different methods of misleading the public. He plans to not only use Gan Gray's mind control powers for mass manipulation, but also as part of his [06:41] false flag operation to make the world fear mutants. In fact, in this line from >> it appears we're faced with a threat we can't control, one we can't even see. the minehopper specifically. I think he's talking about mutation in general. [06:56] He's appealing to Spider-Man as a good one, and he's putting on a song and dance for Spider-Man, likely apologizing for previous run-ins that the and saying how under his leadership and [07:08] the new Avengers, Valentina Algra De Fontaine. Everything's changed now at the DOC. And hey, Spider-Man, maybe we could even get you on the New Avengers Mezer is going to look to draw a line between good mutants and bad mutants. [07:22] and he is trying to get Spider-Man on his side as a good super person who got their powers through a spontaneous event and wasn't born with them. And that is really artificial line between oh a mutant and a superpowered individual. [07:35] But really all Mezer and the DODC and Valentino want is super people that they can control. That is all they are interested in. And they plan to use the new Avengers and Spider-Man as poster children for their DODC approved good [07:48] Whereas those who don't comply, those dirty mutants, they should be feared. And villains like Matt Gargan Scorpion are being used as pawns. See, Matt Gargan, he's supposed to be in prison, but I think he was totally released from [08:01] prison at the direction of Valentina or DODC. And he was totally provided that suit and this mission to cause chaos in exchange for freedom and revenge on Spider-Man. Scorpion and other villains are being unleashed and used to help [08:15] justify the need for DODC and their latest service, DODC approved superheroes, provided by none other than the Ox Corporation, and all of course for a price. You see, Ox is Valentina's private company that she owns and [08:28] government official, the director of the candidate for president of the United States, perhaps in a race against Steve Rogers, but that's a video for another day. Anyway, Valentina will use her pool [08:41] the private sector to free villains like Scorpion and give them these mechanized suits to wreak havoc. All to make the general public scared of unregulated super people and sell her own super people to stop the very chaos that she [08:55] operation. It's state sponsored terrorism. It's creating a problem so will paint all super people who are independent and not registered with a private government approved company as dangerous, lawless freaks that must be [09:10] controlled. We'll even hear Valentina talk about how the Sacobia Accords was a was a government-ledd initiative. And privatized middleman between the government and the super people like the [09:23] military who rake in hundreds of billions of dollars creating and selling weapons for defense and war. Valentina is looking to once again control power provider of super people to the government as well as a capturer of [09:38] super people for the government. She will create a revolving door where in order to be a superp person, you need to be registered. Just like with the mutant registration act from the comics, she will push for legislation that makes it [09:50] to where super people must be associated with an accredited private organization that is government approved. And coincidentally, the only accredited private organization that will meet government and DODC standards is the Ox [10:03] Avengers, and all the way down to low-level mercenaries like Benjamin Po Dexter. Like Tony Stark, whose tower Valentina now owns, she will claim to have successfully privatized world peace. She may even say it right before [10:16] Congress, just like Tony did. And what do the donors and lobbyists for weapons politicians and talking heads in the media to keep the war industry alive and well. They need bad guys to fight and to keep the public scared of all to justify [10:31] single year and filling their pockets with more and more money. And that's what Valentina is doing. She needs to control the narrative of mutants bad, mutants dangerous, me have solution. Pay my company and we'll send good mutants [10:44] part of it all. Because see, there is another key part of this movie that is going to be the next step in Valentina's master plan and that will play a major role in the mutant saga. This next move will completely change the DODC and [10:57] Val's business model once they realize that they won't be able to control heroes like Spider-Man and the Avengers forever. So instead of selling super people to stop the dangerous mutants, they'll sell a patented technology, the [11:09] Bruce Banner that through some legal loophole they will secure the patent for. because he is a professor at Empire State University. And just like private university research that creates life-saving drugs, Val will swoop in and [11:23] lock down the patent. Now, we've got a great video up on the channel right now detailing this theory that Bruce's mutation blocking wristband will be the catalyst for the mutant collar that we have also already seen in the MCU here [11:35] in Civil War. Anyway, at first I think Spider-Man will be receptive to the lies of the DODC and this turned a new leaf act that they are putting on. As Peter that will give him a new perspective [11:48] after having previously been convinced by Mezer to help the DODC and their efforts against this mind hopper who Peter will discover is actually Mezer or worse another Empire State professor who has been working for DODC in Valentina, [12:02] Miles Warren, aka the Spider-Man villain, The Jackal, who is in all likelihood being played by Keith David. See, in the comics, Miles Warren is an science develops the ability to mind [12:14] hop. And I think in Brand New Day, it will be Warren who's been recruited by the DODC to develop the tech to control and use Jean's telepathic powers to hop into minds and control people. Maybe something similar to Cerebro. This use [12:28] of Gan's mind hopping powers will be used to scare people about mutants and make things they want to happen happen. And while Hulk isn't a mutant, I think his rampage that they will cause will serve as yet another example that DODC [12:40] can use to justify their own existence, furthering my theory that it won't just be mutants that are framed and black balled. It will be any super person that can't control. And Spider-Man is going to have to take a really hard look in [12:54] the mirror as he begins to mutate and becomes the very thing that the DODC has freeing Gene will come into play. The it's Peter Parker freeing Matt Murdoch anymore. I think he is freeing Gene. [13:07] Look at these guards outside the prison. Those are DODC agents. And I think this is a repurposed prison for DODC captives. Just like Scorpion and other villains throughout this film who are under the thumb of DODC, I think the [13:19] Hand ninjas are as well. They have been operating in the shadows of New York for a long time. And the DODC is now prepared to offer them a job. And there's actually a blink and you'll miss it frame from the leaked version of this [13:31] Spider-Man swings in here to talk to this DODC agent in the leaked version of the trailer, there is a shot where this guy standing behind this guy on the one of those electric batons, the same ones that we see the hand fighting [13:46] Spider-Man with in the cell block. I think the hand has been in a pretty desperate state after their defeat in the defenders 10 years ago. And the DODC has offered them two things. freedom, a promise that the authorities won't come [13:59] after them, but also funding, just like with Scorpion and the others, all in power. I think the Hand has been called in to stop Spider-Man from saving Gan. little deeper into this in a theory video that I have up on my personal [14:13] But yeah, that's just my take on it. Take it for what you will. So, look, at movie because it has Gan Gray in it. It's a mutant saga movie because it is introducing all the major concepts, themes, and plot lines that will [14:27] introduce the general audience once more to all the necessary ideas going into that first X-Men movie that comes out after Secret Wars. Mutants being framed as dangerous, private government forces using them and hunting them, media arms [14:40] them, collars to suppress their mutation. That's all being set up in Spider-Man Brand New Day. And that's why I think Spider-Man Brand New Day is the first chapter or at least a prelude for the mutant saga that will start [14:53] officially with the X-Men movie after Secret Wars. And a lot of leg work will have already been done in Brand New Day because they can pretty much guarantee that anyone and everyone who goes to see an X-Men movie will have very likely [15:05] seen the previous Spider-Man movie. And really quick before we go, I mentioned a second civil war. The first civil war of the MCU was fought over superhero registration, right? Well, I think the second could be similar, only this time [15:17] with mutant registration and the dangers of private industry being involved. The new Avengers are currently under the ownership of Valentina. But I don't all hate her. It would make far more sense that the tensions that we are [15:30] seeing brew between the new Avengers and Sam's Avengers and this idea of two teams of Avengers. I could see this resulting in the new Avengers, formerly the Thunderbolts, breaking off and becoming the Avengers that are against [15:42] mutant registration and against this idea of in order to operate as a hero, then there can be another team of Avengers or other heroes who find themselves uncomfortably on the side of the idea that mutants are slightly [15:56] concerning and perhaps in need of being kept in check. And I don't really see Sam or Ant-Man or Shani, the characters that we think are part of Sam's team of Avengers. I don't see them joining Val, nor do I see Yolena or Alexi or Bucky or [16:09] Ghost or any of those guys staying with Val. But I could see there being this divide between certain heroes who some of which will agree with the idea of mutant registration and who have encountered these new massive threats in [16:22] the form of mutants. And perhaps we could see some of our heroes become convinced that mutants are a problem and that will lead to yet another civil war. In fact, Civil War II in the comics was about an inhuman who had the ability to [16:36] wanted to use that knowledge to apprehend people before they committed with saying the punishment is supposed to come after the crime. And that's the divide we could see in a presidential race between Val and Steve Rogers. And [16:50] that's the divide we could see between a group of heroes and another group of heroes that perhaps witnessed a severe tragedy that could have been prevented regulations on mutants and used this inhuman or in this case they'll make him [17:03] a mutant his ability to read the future. But perhaps he doesn't want to be used that's where yet another moral dilemma comes into play because they'd be using this mutant the same way that they were using Gan and her telepathic abilities [17:17] thoughts and theories.
