> Source: [5-Minute Scalping Strategy (Sniper Entries)](https://youtube.com/watch?v=rBwdxv8CLQw)

## Summary

This video presents an overnight range breakout trading strategy that uses the Happy Trail indicator for entry signals. The creator defines the overnight range as the period after New York closes until London opens, and trades breakouts in the direction of the first Happy Trail signal, aiming for a 1:2 risk-to-reward ratio.

### Key Points

- **Happy Trail Indicator** [00:13] — The key indicator is Happy Trail (paid), available at trdfloor.com. The creator uses case 4 settings.
- **Defining Overnight Range** [00:26] — The overnight range is from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM GMT+1 (when New York is closed and London hasn't started). Using Simple Sessions indicator (free) to visualize.
- **Entry Rules** [01:07] — After a breakout above or below the overnight range, take the first Happy Trail signal in that direction. Ignore signals against the breakout direction.
- **Risk-to-Reward and Frequency** [01:23] — Target 1:2 risk-to-reward with 2% profit per trade. Over the last 30 days, only 4 setups occurred, all winners. Strategy not backtested for the full year.
- **Trade Examples** [01:53] — Shows multiple examples where price broke the overnight range and a Happy Trail signal in the breakout direction led to a 1:2 winner.

### Conclusion

The strategy is low-frequency but claims 100% win rate over the past 30 days. The creator emphasizes strict adherence to the rules and warns this is not a scalping method despite the video title.

## Transcript

So, I've been doing this overnight range breakout strategy starting in London session and a lot of people have questions or want like better entries. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to give you a strategy. I'm going to give you set rules that you need to follow the indicator that you need to
use and how many times this has played out in the last 30 days. All right. So, the indicator that you're going to want to use is called Happy Trail. It's a paid indicator. You can get access to it by clicking the first link in the description or just go to trdfloor.com. Now, if you look at the chart,
I'm at GMT+1 or UTC+1. That is my time zone. So basically from my time 1000 p.m. until my time 9:00 a.m. is what I deem the overnight session when New York session is over and London session
starts. That whole range I put a block around it. All I do is just make my rectangle tool and draw it around the highs and lows and the width of that range. Now to make this visually simple, there's a free indicator called simple sessions by TTF. Just add that to your charts and then
unselect all of the sessions and make your own userdefined custom session. I have the time zone set for my time zone and I have it from 9:00 a.m. till 10 p.m. That creates this red block, which leaves this black one, which is my overnight range. And basically, what I'm looking for is the
first happy trail signal, either buy or sell. If it breaks out below the range, we sell. If it breaks out above the range, we buy. All I'm looking for is if price breaks out below this range, I'm looking for the first sell signal from Happy Trail. And I enter that.
And I'm shooting for a 1:2 risk-to-reward ratio. This type of setup requires lots of momentum and does not happen every day. Over the last 30 days, it's only happened four times, but every single one of those four times, it's played out. So, if you get a 1 to2 risk-to-reward and
you make 2% profit on every trade four times in a month, you're up 8%. I'd be happy with that. Now, I have not back tested this for the entire year. That is my caveat. This type of buyell indication after that breakout range is what's working for the last 30 days. So, this example right here,
we have our overnight range. Price broke out to the upside. We have a happy trail buy signal. 1 to2 riskto-reward. We have our overnight range. We broke out to the downside. We ignore the buys because we broke out below. We enter in on the sell signal. 1 to2 risk-to-reward. Winning trade.
Then you basically went two weeks without a trade entry, which is fine because you're making money. Overnight range broke out to the sell side. Ignore the buy signals again. Enter in on the happy trail sell signal. One to two risk-to-reward 2% profit. And the last one that happened, overnight range,
broke out to the sell side, happy trail signal, stop-loss, 2% take profit. Now, the settings for the happy trail, there are four different cases. I used case 4. That's it. If you If you want this indicator, go to trdfloor.com. If not, just watch the rest of my videos. I talk
about awesome breakout strategies and scalping and Fibonacci retracements. Have a good day.
