[0:08] will put ads on your videos and you'll
[0:10] get paid every single time someone views
[0:12] an ad on one of your videos now at this
[0:15] point you're probably asking Matt how
[0:17] much will I get paid well I personally
[0:19] run 12 different YouTube channels and I
[0:21] run a community of 6,000 other YouTubers
[0:24] and here's what we found the answer is
[0:26] that channels make anywhere from $1 to
[0:29] $30 per th000 views so for every 100,000
[0:33] views a channel can make anywhere from
[0:36] $100 to
[0:38] $3,000 and the average Channel based off
[0:41] of my research looking into this in the
[0:43] middle of those two numbers makes
[0:46] $115.50 per th000 views that' be
[0:50] $1,550 per 100,000 views but based off
[0:54] of my personal experience running
[0:56] channels myself most channels only make
[0:59] $5 to $10 per th000 views and that would
[1:01] be $500 to $1,000 per 100,000 views but
[1:06] it's not that simple the thing is that
[1:08] different types of content can make
[1:10] different amounts of money per thousand
[1:12] views and here's how you can potentially
[1:14] make more money per thousand views so
[1:17] the way that we measure how much money a
[1:19] channel makes per thousand views is by a
[1:22] metric called CPM or cost per Millie and
[1:25] if you want to get really scientific
[1:26] with it it would be called RPM or
[1:29] Revenue per thousand views but for the
[1:31] purpose of this video I'm going to be
[1:33] using both terms interchangeably and you
[1:35] see different advertisers spend
[1:37] different amounts of money on YouTube
[1:39] for example apple is one of the biggest
[1:41] advertisers on YouTube so therefore they
[1:44] are likely going to be putting their ads
[1:46] on technology related content and that's
[1:48] why technology videos on average have a
[1:51] slightly higher CPM than most niches on
[1:54] YouTube now right here is a list of some
[1:56] of the highest CPM niches on YouTube
[1:59] feel free to screenshot this they're not
[2:01] all the same CPM but all of these in my
[2:03] experience and with communicating with
[2:05] people running thousands of different
[2:06] channels these types of content on
[2:08] average make more money per thousand
[2:10] views but you don't just want to compare
[2:12] how much money a channel can make per
[2:14] thousand views you also want to compare
[2:16] the amount of views that a channel could
[2:19] get because even though some niches are
[2:21] lower CPM or RPM they can get more views
[2:24] which in some cases would make up for
[2:26] that these can be niches like scary
[2:28] videos prank videos
[2:30] General top 10 videos and gaming videos
[2:33] depending on the game and a secret for
[2:35] making more money per thousand views is
[2:37] to make videos longer than 8 minutes and
[2:40] the reasoning for this is because if you
[2:41] make videos longer than 8 minutes you're
[2:43] then Allowed by YouTube to put multiple
[2:45] ad breaks throughout your video and this
[2:47] can increase your cpms by quite a bit
[2:50] and I recommend putting your ads every
[2:52] few minutes so as not to interrupt your
[2:54] viewer experience and then also put an
[2:56] ad at the beginning and end and the way
[2:58] that you do this is you can go to your
[2:59] YouTube channel and then click manage
[3:01] videos right here and then go to one of
[3:04] your videos that is longer than 8
[3:06] minutes for example this video right
[3:08] here and if I click it then if we go on
[3:10] to the left hand side and scroll down to
[3:12] this monetization icon we can click that
[3:15] and then click review placement right
[3:17] here make sure monetization is on and
[3:19] you place ads during the video mid roll
[3:22] ads these are the ads that are going to
[3:24] allow us to make a lot more money
[3:25] potentially per th000 views and as you
[3:28] can see on this video right here here
[3:30] I've placed ads at 2 minutes 6 minutes
[3:32] 11 minutes and 17 minutes as opposed to
[3:36] just one ad being on the video like they
[3:38] would be by default if your video is
[3:40] shorter that being said don't just make
[3:42] videos for the sake of them being long
[3:44] make sure to fill your videos with extra
[3:46] value to make sure people keep watching
[3:48] so your videos still do well within the
[3:50] algorithm and here's a list that came
[3:52] out a couple years ago about the top
[3:54] advertisers on YouTube and these include
[3:56] companies like PayPal Apple Disney Geico
[4:00] Expedia Liberty Mutual tax and what this
[4:02] tells us is that the types of content
[4:05] that these companies are going to be
[4:06] putting ads on is likely going to be
[4:08] much higher in CPM and higher than usual
[4:11] cpms are going to be on niches of
[4:13] content where people generally have
[4:15] problems that they're willing to pay to
[4:17] solve because companies will invest in
[4:19] solving those problems and the most
[4:21] prominent categories for this relate to
[4:23] health wealth relationships travel and
[4:26] technology and then also entertainment
[4:29] like movies and now here's how to
[4:30] calculate how much a channel could be
[4:32] making per month and then I'll just
[4:34] straight up reveal to you how much this
[4:36] channel is actually making per month so
[4:38] for the purpose of this example we're
[4:40] going to take a look at my channel make
[4:42] money mat that you're watching this
[4:43] video on right here if you install an
[4:45] extension called vid IQ and I'll leave a
[4:47] link down below if you're interested in
[4:49] that then you will be able to see this
[4:51] button on all YouTube channels to view
[4:53] the channel stats and if we click this
[4:55] button right here as you can see this
[4:57] channel is pulling in 1.1 million views
[5:00] per month and what we want to do is plug
[5:02] this number right here into a calculator
[5:04] and then divide it by 1,000 and the
[5:07] reason for doing that is we want to see
[5:09] how many thousand views per month that
[5:12] this channel is getting so this channel
[5:13] is getting 1,00,000 views per month so
[5:16] then from this number right here we're
[5:18] going to multiply it by what we suspect
[5:21] the CPM for this Niche to be and since
[5:23] this is in the make money online Niche
[5:25] it's going to make more money than most
[5:27] channels because it's related to finance
[5:29] and money so let's estimate the CPM to
[5:31] be $15 per th000 views so we'll take
[5:34] that number multiplied by 15 our
[5:37] estimate would be that this channel is
[5:39] making $116,000 per month now you might
[5:41] be asking Matt how much money is this
[5:43] channel actually making well I'll
[5:45] actually hop into my YouTube Studio to
[5:47] show you how much this channel is really
[5:49] making and this will help you get a
[5:51] better understanding of how much
[5:53] channels can make here so if we hop on
[5:55] over to my analytics right here as you
[5:58] can see this channel is pulling in at
[6:01] $22,000 per month so it's making a
[6:03] little bit more than our estimated CPM
[6:05] was and this is just a testament as to
[6:07] how much money that channels within
[6:09] niches similar to this can potentially
[6:11] make but with making this video I feel
[6:13] like I should let you in on a really big
[6:15] secret this channel actually makes over
[6:18] $200 per th000 views you might be saying
[6:21] Matt I don't believe you I need proof of
[6:23] this how in the world is that even
[6:25] possible well this is by selling a
[6:27] digital product with my channel doing
[6:30] sponsorships and doing affiliate
[6:32] marketing you see I sell a course called

[6:57] could potentially be making here's a
[6:59] channel called magnets media right here
[7:01] which does these faceless YouTube videos
[7:03] about the Back stories of different
[7:04] popular businesses and if we look at vid
[7:06] IQ they are getting 5.3 million views
[7:09] per month and just a rough estimate if
[7:10] we take 5,300,000 views per month
[7:13] multiply that number by a reasonable CPM
[7:16] we know business niches are typically a
[7:18] little bit higher than usual cpms we'll
[7:20] say 15 this channel is likely making
[7:23] more than
[7:24] $80,000 per month which is absolutely
[7:26] crazy especially given the fact they
[7:28] could be running multiple chance
[7:29] channels this channel right here world
[7:31] according to breaks produces these
[7:32] faceless videos related to travel all
[7:35] around the world and this channel pulls
[7:37] in 6.8 million views per month so if we
[7:40] take
[7:41] 6,800 multiply by reasonable CPM we'll
[7:44] say $10 per th000 views because it's
[7:46] likely going to be higher than normal
[7:47] since we saw that Expedia which is
[7:49] related to travel is one of the top
[7:51] advertisers on YouTube which would mean
[7:54] this channel is pulling in
[7:56] $68,000 per month that's more than a
[7:58] full-time income for a lot of people and
[8:01] this channel right here is called debt
[8:03] Busters they only have 20,000
[8:04] subscribers and they only pull in 60,000
[8:07] views per month yet what if I were to
[8:09] tell you that this channel right here
[8:11] makes over $10,000 per month and the
[8:13] reason I know that is because my student
[8:15] actually runs this Channel and he showed
[8:17] me how much he's making from it and the
[8:20] way he's able to make so much with so
[8:22] little views is by selling affiliate
[8:24] products you see he talks about some of
[8:26] the best AI video making software and
[8:28] tools within his videos and then he
[8:30] makes sure to put an affiliate link to
[8:32] these AI tools in the descriptions of
[8:34] his videos and boom he makes over
[8:36] $10,000 a month doing that and all three
[8:39] of these channels that I just shared
[8:41] with you are completely faceless YouTube
[8:43] channels and the other channels that I
[8:44] run that got me play buttons just like
[8:46] this for getting over a million
[8:47] subscribers are also faceless YouTube
[8:50] channels this is how I got my start with
[8:52] making money online and I think it's one
[8:54] of the best work from home businesses
