[00:01] And I'm in Atlanta, Georgia at Cassad Bullion for a sad reason to check on my Goldwing that is all torn apart. There'll be a video on that. And I if there's something good for the Hooptily lot, a cheap truck, something
[00:15] whatever, something I can get and flip for the hoopt. and instead
[00:29] I found the last BMW V12, an M760i that was $180,000 new in 2018 and I only got it for $30,000. But that is for a very, very good reason. And despite that reason that is not good, I'm going to try and drive it home almost 1,000 mi to
[00:43] Kansas. Yes, what you're looking at is the end of an era here for BMW, the last generation of V12s, and they went out with a bang. 600 horsepower out of the twin turbo V12 under the hood. And BMW first introduced V12s in 1987. So, a
[00:58] really long run. But this one, the last iteration, they retired the V12 in 2022 with a dramatic redesign that's also totally hideous. So, this is the last of the 7 series that I can even look at, especially in the front because when you
[01:11] look at the 2023s, it it's awful. Horrible cartoonish to appeal to the Chinese market. I think it's it's just terrible what they've done to BMW. This car is also massive. But despite its size, the horsepower certainly makes up
[01:25] for it. 600 horsepower, 0 to 60 in 3 and 1/2 seconds. And even the current fastest 7 series, which is an i7, it's electric, it's around the same 0 to 60. So, not only at the time, this was the most powerful BMW ever. It was also the
[01:38] most expensive. And this one has some really, really spicy options. Starting with the paint, it's called Azerite Black Metallic. And in the sun, there's some blue metallic there. That's a $2,000 option. Pretty reasonable. The
[01:51] interior, which I'll give a full tour in a little bit, $4,000 for this beautiful peanut butter gut interior that massages you and does so many crazy things. Bowers and Wilin stereo as well. That's a $2,700 option. The piano trim inside,
[02:07] $1,080. Driver assistance, $ 1,700. And the rear luxury seating, which is really a thing. You can see the tablet back there. We'll play with that also. That's a huge option, $1,800. And then the big
[02:21] panoramic roof, it's just a mere $900. And that's why the MSRP on this thing And that's why the MSRP on this thing was almost $180,000 when new. So, I got it for 30 grand. And BMWs are known for their depreciation.
[02:33] But if you look at 740s, just the six-cylinder version, they're not that has a clean accident history as far as the Carfax and the auto check. So, it hasn't been hit. Doesn't have flood damage or any of that kind of stuff.
[02:46] Just massive depreciation. And that is because of this V12 under hood. People are scared to mess with it due to its well-deserved reputation. And this one unfortunately does have a pretty major issue at only 58,000 mi on the clock
[02:58] because it was at auction and everything is traded in for a reason nowadays. You definitely see why somebody dumped this thing. And it's not because this thing is aging or looking old or decrepit at all. Condition-wise, it is in incredible
[03:13] little subtle spoiler. The badge on the back M760i. They've never made an M7 as far as the 7 series sedan. And they made M6s of course and the bigger coups, but this is the closest that you could get the M Sport package on a 7 series. And
[03:28] this one, I mean, it might as well be an M7 with that kind of horsepower and the performance despite its giant size. And you can see all the trim because it's the M, it's sort of a matte finish, a satin finish on the wheels as well. And
[03:42] the trim down here, it is not all ched and blinged out. Same goes with the mirrors. There are cameras everywhere. And then look at these gigantic brakes on this thing. So, it stops this big sedan. So, there's some serious
[03:54] performance cred here. The headlights also beautiful. A lot going on. And at night, there's a lot of lighting and crazy things on the outside that you can thing up to make this thing dazzle you and maybe get away from buying a Bentley
[04:08] or a Rolls-Royce, which is a lot more expensive. And the BMW, you know, you If people don't see the V12 badge, they would think it's just a normal hoham BMW, and you don't really draw all that attention. and also save a little bit of
[04:21] money. But as far as luxury goes, this thing probably smokes a Bentley or Rolls-Royce of its era, which I just accidentally locked it. Let me tell you, that I love is something that I never take for granted since I've worked a lot
[04:34] tables, flipping burgers, receptionist, car salesman, even data entry for a terrible at that, actually. Now, all that experience makes me really But making the jump to a full-time YouTuber was certainly a scary prospect.

[06:09] there's the pattern up here. There's this laced white piping going down the seat and that piano black trim. And no, I am not crisp, but the previous owner took a lot of depreciation here before he traded it in. And that V12,
[06:26] the twin turbos, but when you put it in sport mode, I do think it makes some noise. Come on.
[06:39] or whatever. The turbo really muffles it, but the performance is certainly not muffled at all when you put your foot into it, except for what happens. So, in sport mode, as you can see, everything changes as far as the speedometer. It's
[06:52] changes as far as the speedometer. It's just big increments from 50 to 100, 150, a few miles an hour. Obviously, that would be accurate. But when you put it back in comfort, the gauges change to different things. There's even an
[07:05] economy mode where you're trying to save gas. Look how it all changes. Uh 600 horsepower V12 has an economy mode. But you say that a buddy of mine had one of these Euro Asian Bob with almost 200,000 miles on it. He said he got 20 MPG
[07:19] highway out of the thing, which is just crazy. A 600 horsepower giant V12 sedan getting that. But also just totally crazy is this interior. I've never owned something this new that was this fancy. And it is unbelievable the quality in
[07:33] far as the design here. And then the suede headliner that is just just can see the leather stitch dash with the matching sort of brown stitching there. And the only wear on the interior. The dash is just starting to peel up just I
[07:48] mean just barely starting to do it. You also have a heads up display. You also have a glorious V12 badge here in your piano black trim along with what's left of the iDrive knob that came out in 2002 with the Bengal Butt BMWs. But what I do
[08:02] like about this car is that it still has buttons or things that resemble buttons. So you do have an easy to reach volume knob. Same goes for the climate control. screen, but it works as a button. So that's nice. But this one here, that is
[08:15] the fragrance button. So when you hit this, it will mist a fragrance through the car. So if you had a spicy taco Tuesday and your wife's in the car and can hit this thing full blast and, you know, mask your farts. It's wonderful.
[08:29] like me. But one of the craziest features of this car, there's $180,000 new, is if you don't want to turn knobs or work a touchcreen, you can do hand here. To turn up the volume, all you have to do is wave your finger around
[08:42] like a magic wand. And you can raise and lower the volume. As you can see, I'm doing that with hand signals. A camera is picking it up and changing the volume on Careless Whisper. It's I mean, it's a little clunky, but it definitely it
[08:56] works. You can also do it to hang up on a call. gang signs that you can flash to make can even program one gang sign. I'm not sure you like the the shocker or
[09:08] whatever feature that you want through different options. It's it is hilarious. The BMW gimmicks as far as technology has just gotten crazier and crazier. And you know, it's great for car reviewers
[09:21] kind of stuff, but it was definitely far away from what BMW was back, say in 2001 machine and not this, you know, technologically dazzling thing. It was cars, but now that it's evolved here to
[09:36] the modern era 2018, it is uh pretty darn cool what they've been able to do. clunky, but now the tech is really, really cool. You can see the V12 badge that is illuminated in the door sill, but also there's this carbon core badge,
[09:50] chassis on this thing is carbon fiber to make it lighter. This is not a light car at all, and these doors like to lock on me. But when you go into the back, look at this crazy rear. I just sold my Maybach 62, and I'm not missing very
[10:06] much in this 760. There's no partition, but this is properly luxurious. Reclining seat here, heated and cooled and massaging as well. You can program a can, and you can control all of it with this
[10:22] tablet right here that is supposed to pop out. Uh-oh. Come on. So, so that doesn't pop up anymore, unfortunately. This thing would be
[10:35] pull it out manually, and it unlocks. And then you can work this little Samsung tablet to control everything. But I do believe the battery has expired take it out of its cradle, it dies. But once you plug it back in, it works. So
[10:50] you can see there's a seat adjustment. I'm currently getting massaged in a bunch of different ways right now. It is doing a whole body massage right now. Also, if you're a rear passenger, you can have a workout, the vitality
[11:02] program, where you're supposed to push back on the little motors, the massage motors, your shoulders, your back, your butt, to keep yourself engaged if you're sitting for too long and have a bit of a workout in your BMW 760, which is just
[11:15] incredibly goofy. As you can see, two screens as well. I think they can both that. There's a Chipmunks DVD in this thing. But I do know I can control the climate control as if reaching down here to adjust your climate was enough.
[11:30] You can do it on the tablet. Turn up the blower, turn it back down. You can also go through and change all the lighting in the car. So you can also set the as far as the ambient lighting at night. But also headphone jacks down here. The
[11:45] you can fold it away, too. And you do have a full bench. So in addition to footrest though. Obviously, not much room, although you can control the passenger seat and have it go forward. You do have these pillows up here that
[11:59] are uh very luxurious and comfortable. You also have full sun shades, so you You also have full sun shades, so you can
[12:11] something electronic that doesn't work. This one is slightly deployed and and something to fix on this, unfortunately, when it comes to all the electronics and old now. Now, 2018 doesn't seem that long ago, uh, but it is an 8-year-old
[12:25] car now. Only 58,000 m on it. And well, we haven't gotten to the big butt, unfortunately, as to why this thing was dumped at auction so cheap. Oh, look, the headphones are in there. And that has to do with the V12. So, under the
[12:39] hood is a pretty incredible power plant. Like I said, 600 horsepower, 0 to 60 in 3 and 1/2 seconds. But it is a very tightly packaged V12. not much room to get anything done, which is not a very big deal compared to
[12:53] mechanical gotchas as far as the failures of the timing chains, you know, head gasket failures. This doesn't have any of those catastrophic things, but it does have two big gotchas. One of them being, unfortunately, the high-pressure
[13:07] fuel pumps, which BMW used to charge crazy amounts of money for, like $5,000, they're rebuilds and kits where you can do it for under $2,000 when those go out. as far as the direct injection high-pressure fuel pumps. But the other
[13:22] big issue, which is what I believe this thing has, is carbon buildup. So, I have a misfire, unfortunately. And that misfire happens right under load, but which means it's not fuel related, cuz that would throw a code. And it's not
[13:36] plug going out because it would detect it in the computer. It's probably because this thing with 58,000 mi is gummed up in the intake valves and all that stuff and just causing misfires. But if I floor it or I'm driving down
[13:48] the highway, I don't feel it. It still feels pretty fast. Maybe a little down on power just because it's so built up. But it actually drives really, really imagine this car was dumped because you imagine every time you leave a
[14:01] stoplight, you get one or two of these little not the best fueling in the world. Nor would be tearing this engine apart for anything. But I'm not super duper intimidated by this. And really, the only damage on the car is on the
[14:13] front bumper. There's a few chips here, a lower part here that got a little scraped. So, overall, it is in fantastic shape. And to get this thing for 80 something% off at this mileage, only 58,000 mi. Clean Carfax with this
[14:27] incredible deal. And I do think it's okay for the drive home. It's been okay hours. I had a flight home, but I've decided to cancel my flight and drive this thing 14 hours home, which is very Ed Bullianish. You prefer doing that
[14:42] mostly, right? Absolutely. I mean, anything under 1,000 miles, 100% you got >> Which is why you've put like 15,000 mi on your Bugatti Veyron in the past year, you just drive it. So, >> well, you know, people steal cars in

[15:37] They only made about a hundred of them a year and they don't sell for any kind of premium at all like compared to a 740 cuz people are scared of this this V12. that you know this was really a failed car trek premise right because we were
[15:51] going to buy bygon V12s or at least 12cylinder cars and then road trip to DC to meet with Buddhaj when he was secretary of transportation to tell him you have to allow manufacturers to keep making these huge cars so that they can
[16:04] later. >> Right. It's very important. This that's been our entire lives with all these going away. This is the last BMW V12. >> So, this is it. Once this thing ages out, we're we're done. Our our whole

[19:03] you're well aware the ventil but they all delaminate especially for some reason on this generation. And so I learned a great trick that you simply tint the windows, but you put the film on the outside. We didn't tint the back,
[19:17] but you can see how terrible that all is. But so if you put the tint on the >> Exactly. But all of them have this haloing around every side, especially great. >> There's There's definitely an odor to

[25:28] hours in this car. Apple CarPlay, which is pretty nice. But the ride just incredible on this thing as far as the feeling, the air suspension, the heaviness of this thing. It is very old school land yacht in that sense. But
[25:41] then the technology, which I said I was a critic of, I mean, the massage, it of, you know, slowly eases in and then really starts going and it feels, this but it does it does feel really really nice. What isn't nice is what's going to
[25:56] happen once this traffic starts to move and I have to hit this pedal on the right because it is, you know, very concerning. Of course, the start stop the V12 is running. It's just so quiet.
[26:08] But then when we go, there is there's just this little bit of a miss right when you launch it. There's there's one just a little bit right there. And like I said, one of two things as far as the
[26:21] carbon buildup or an issue with the fuel injection, the injector or the high pressure fuel pump, but it's not making sort of the rattly noise. As far as an let me show you something else pretty crazy as I'm sitting here in traffic.
[26:34] The backup cameras on this stuff, it it is it's nuts that you can just see all around you. You can hit the cameras. It it's crazy because it gives you like a 3D illustration of the car and everything around you. So, it is a
[26:47] though it is 8 years old at this point, this this is some pretty high-end tech stuff here. But we are finally mercifully less than a mile from the highway where this car actually gets really fun to drive. But until then,
[27:01] this stop and go, it is so obvious why this car is traded in because right when it loads up at about 1500,800 RPM, it's just it's just a little one or two of those when you start to get going and it's just it doesn't feel very good. I'm
[27:16] as far as the unburned fuel from the misfire or whatever washing down into the cat and burning it up or whatever, which would be very expensive cuz obviously it's not missing consistently and the 12 cylinders making up for it.
[27:29] and clean things out. Here we go. Entering the highway. Woo! No miss there at all. Obviously, when imagine this thing has some kind of VANOS like BMWs are famous for, we we
[27:44] don't miss there. Full throttle, it is still full pull, no hesitation whatsoever. And that is that is that is spicy. That that is really impressive, more of this happened probably in this car's life as far as someone driving it
[28:01] cleaner, BG products, it probably wouldn't have gummed up like it is now. at. And it's going to be a pretty big clean out to be able to do this. Whether it be using BG products or, you know, walnut blasting where you take the
[28:14] you get up to highway speeds around 2,000 RPM or above, there is no more missing, no more hesitation. This thing feels like brand new. And the ride just incredible. We're going 74 miles down the road. Listen, as far as the
[28:29] insulation, this might be the quietest car as far as a cabin when it comes to wind noise and everything else I have ever owned. Like everything else I have ever owned. Like this, it is so quiet. Ridiculously
[28:42] quiet. And this makes it really the last generation of old meets new. Enough old school BMW with the V12 with the looks and all that stuff with the newest technology. And everything after this is just something completely different.
[28:55] something that doesn't resemble what BMW used to be at all. This is the final breaths of it. And that's why I was very excited to find one of these considering how rare they are around a 100 built a year over a short period of time before
[29:07] the V12 is canceled. So, I'm pretty happy with my purchase right now. Obviously, if it leaves me on the side of the road, then I won't be happy, but so far so good. So, hopefully no drama and I just report back to you guys when
[29:21] I make it back to Kansas 13 hours later. 889 miles on a car I just bought blindside on seen at auction. So, cross your on seen at auction. So, cross your fingers for me.
[29:44] and 1/2 hours in this car, 900 miles, I have never gone cross country in something more comfortable and relaxing, but also so much fun and so powerful. but also so much fun and so powerful. This thing, it is, it is perfect. I am
[29:59] so impressed, but also impressed that there aren't any new issues except for one. My phone, I put it in the wireless charging pad. It's actually a cradle that it slides into, and it overheated very quickly. When I grabbed the phone
[30:11] out of it, it was very hot, like about to be on fire. So, that doesn't work. But otherwise, no new problems at all. And the thing, it it was it was just And the thing, it it was it was just silent, but unbelievably fast. Decent
[30:24] gas mileage. I think still around 20 m per gallon, even with the uh everything valves and things. Obviously, I'm a bit mentally smoked since it's late at the last two nights before, but this car,
[30:36] having something like this in the garage. a modern flagship luxury sedan. I need to reload the fragrance dispenser, unfortunately, because I got
