## Summary

This video discusses several loot-related bugs plaguing the start of Season 1 in World of Warcraft: Midnight, including duplicate item drops, a crafting crest loss bug, and a roll bug for specific classes. The creator shares community reports and personal experiences, offering practical advice on how to avoid or work around these issues.

### Key Points

- **Duplicate Loot Problem** [00:00] — Players are reporting receiving the same item or gear slot repeatedly (e.g., cloaks, braces, helms) from various content, making it hard to increase item level. This is a known bug, not just bad luck.
- **Impact of Limited Weekly Activities** [00:39] — Season 1 limits gear sources like Nightmare Freight (first two Prey Hubs per difficulty per week) and Bountiful Delves (six per week with restored copper key). This makes duplicate drops more frustrating as players get up to 10 pieces of champion gear but often all for the same slot.
- **Weekly Vault Disappointment** [01:22] — Players are opening their first weekly vault of the expansion and finding only cloaks or weapons, which is demoralizing since the vault is a major upgrade source and limited to once per week. Some players are delaying opening their vault until a fix is announced.
- **Bug Confirmation and Hotfix** [02:03] — The duplicate loot bug was confirmed by the dev team in February as a bug, not bad luck. A hotfix is in the works, but no timeframe has been given. The creator notes that waiting to open the vault may not help if loot is generated beforehand.
- **Roll Bug for Devourer Demon Hunters and Augmentation Evokers** [03:17] — These specs may be unable to roll as main spec on some items, including tier set gear, causing rolls to register as off-spec. This bug was addressed in a blue post, and swapping loot spec should allow proper rolls.
- **Call to Delves Weekly Quest** [04:48] — The new weekly quest 'Call to Delves' rewards a cache of Calpulaf Treasures with a random Champion Track piece. The cache can contain almost anything, including raid gear from the Dreamless Raid and even the March on Kel'Danath raid, which hasn't opened yet.
- **Delve Bonus Calendar Event** [06:19] — The 'Call to Delves' quest is tied to the Delve Bonus Calendar event, which occurs every six to eight weeks. The event also increases delve journey progress by 25%, making it a good time to grind for myth crests and other rewards.
- **Crafting Crest Loss Bug** [07:02] — Players are losing their crests when upgrading crafted gear without the item being upgraded. This affects both Myth and Hero crests, and there is no way to get materials back even if customer support acknowledges the bug. It is rare but worth knowing about.

### Conclusion

The start of Season 1 in Midnight is marred by several loot bugs, including duplicate drops, a roll bug, and a crafting crest loss bug. While some have workarounds, players should be cautious with crafting upgrades and wait for hotfixes.

## Transcript

Hey folks, this is Kalani. Have you been seeing the same item drop over and over again, or maybe items for the same gear slot from every kind of content, like braces just dropping them absolutely everywhere while everything else seems to be impossible to get?
well, you might not be the only one and it might not just be a case of terribly bad luck. There have been a lot of posts between Reddit, the official forums and beyond of players only receiving cloaks
or only braces or only helms or maybe just a mix of one or two items. This has been made even more apparent with the start of Season 1 as we started looking towards limited weekly activities
to gear up like Nightmare Freight which only rewards loot from the first two Prey Hubs per difficulty per week and Bountiful Delves, where you need a restored copper key to open up the actual loot chest at the end of your run,
and those are typically limited to six per week. That might sound like a lot of gear, up to ten pieces of champion gear in the first week from Prey and Bountiful Delves alone, but when every piece of gear you get is for the same slot, well, your character can only wear one cloak at a time,
so you may end up with a fabulous selection of cloaks to swap around for every occasion, but your item level isn't going to budge. These problems only got worse in the second week, as players started to open their first weekly vault of the expansion.
Imagine a vault of just cloaks, or just weapons. I mean, the weapons might be nice the first time around, but you only need one weapon, or two if you're playing one of the funny classes, but when some of your largest upgrades come from the vault,
and it's limited to just once per week, it's going to be incredibly demoralizing if you just can't get an upgrade even this early in the season. The problem has been so bad that some folks have opted to just not open their vault
until something is announced about a change or a fix for these loot issues. Part of me wonders when the loot for your vault is actually generated, though, because if it's already generated before you open it up, I'm not sure waiting would really help out here.
The really weird part is that this problem isn't actually new. There were reports of the same thing happening in pre-patch, and there was confirmation back in February from the dev team that this is actually a bug, it's not just bad luck, and
they are looking into it. The most recent update is that there is a hotfix in the works, but no news on any kind of time frame. Hopefully that comes through quickly though because there are only so many quotes a player can get before they decide it just not worth it to try and gear up anymore and they just stop doing content
Thankfully, I don't think my characters have been the same kind of broken loot, or at least definitely not to the extent of seeing the exact same item from every delve run, but my mages' gear drops specifically do seem to be heavily weighted towards trinkets.
The majority of my loot in the first week from prey hunts and bountiful delves were trinket drops. my bounty map hero piece with a trinket, and I've seen my first out of trinkets from the dungeons as well. That was, admittedly, quite useful when running Windrunner Spire in the
pre-season, and it's probably one of the better slots to get a lot of loot for, but I'm sure I'll get tired of it when my trinkets are all squared away and I'm trying to get some other loot to round out my gear set. Have you run into any issues with looting in Midnight
so far, and what items have you been seeing most often? Let me know how things have been going for you in the comments section below. While we're on the topic of loot bugs, WoWhead reported at the start of last week that Devourer Demon Hunters and Augmentation Evokers
may run into some problems while rolling en route, especially while in raids. I guess these specs are just unable to roll as main spec on some items, or it was just bugging, so they would always roll as boss spec,
and that includes tier set gear, which seems like a really weird item for this bug to happen on, because no matter what spec you are, tier gear is for everyone. It's not like you're rolling on an intellect trinket as a Havoc Demon Hunter.
That would be off-spec, and I could see where the loot system might have a problem with the new Devourer Demon Hunter spec, because up until now, Demon Hunters haven't wanted to roll on intellect gear. But this bug just seems completely random, and specifically only for Devourer and Augmentation.
So if you've been rolling on items, but your rolls haven't been registering as main spec and thus not counting at all, just know that it's not you. This is a known bug. Or at least it was. Thankfully, this one does seem to have been addressed earlier today, at least according to this blue post from a couple of hours ago, so fingers crossed you don't lose out on any more tier tokens when you're doing LFR or any other raid content.
If you do run into this problem again, apparently if you swap your loot spec, it should let you roll properly, so that'd be great for tier gear, but you'll then have to keep an eye on what other loot you might want at the same time, especially if you're playing Devourer Demon Hunter.
Now this next one might not be a bug per se but it definitely doesn seem entirely intended This week introduced a new weekly quest of Call to Delves which asks you to complete five Midnight Delves of any difficulty The quest will reward you with a cache of Calpulaf Treasures which contains a random piece of Champion Track
Root, so not too bad if you're mainly focused on Delves as your source of gear upgrades. The weird thing about this cache is that it doesn't just contain items that can drop from the Delve system or open world content which you would usually expect. This cache can seemingly
contain almost anything, including raid gear, so that may be another chance to get some of your best and spot trinkets, like the Gate of the Alms, see a trinket from the Dreamless Raid, or really any other piece of powerful raid gear. We're not too sure what's on the
loot table, but what is quite strange is that some folks have reported receiving loot from the March on Kel'Danath raid as well. You know, the raid map hasn't even opened up yet, players are even getting the trinkets from this raid, which makes me wonder if you could
also have a chance to get the crazy Naaru War Glaze too. It's just a piece of loot on the last boss's loot table, so I imagine that would be fair game as well. Either way, if you passed over this weekly quest because it's just another piece of champion gear,
it might actually be worth doing just for a chance at some shiny raid loot. Now this quest probably won't be available quite as much as it was in the War Within, as this one seems tied to the Delve Bonus Calendar event which only pops up once every
six to eight weeks. That might explain why the cash-in-suite table is so broad, and the inclusion of the March from Kelbernaast raid lead might just be an oversight. The delve event also increases your delve with journey progress by 25%, so if you're wanting to try
and quickly work towards rank four to start earning myth crests from your tier 11 delve, this would definitely be the week to do some extra delve grinding. You'll also get some more companion experience and more undercoins, so the rewards from delves all around are
quite a bit higher this week. It seems like the bugs aren't just affecting loot, though. There have been multiple reports of players completely losing their crests when they've been trying to upgrade their gear without the item being upgraded.
This is specifically for crafted gear, which makes this a bit more painful. With the start of Season 1, we've been able to get more hero crests quite reliably, but it wasn't until the second week that we were able to farm up myth crests
to start fully upgrading crafted gear to its max of 285. Most players who crafted a weapon and plan to run some high mythic plus keystones will have this on their to list It one of the largest palace you can get this early in the season and it helps tremendously if you trying to progress through the raids on heroic and mythic difficulties
But there's a bit of a problem. You might happily head on over to the crafting or the clerk, plug everything in, find a crafter who can max it all out, and plug in your weekly limited hard-earned myth crafts, and there's a chance they just disappear.
From the reports I've read, the crafting seems to go fine. It shows item level 285 on the crafter's side, the craft goes through as normal, but the player who sent the crafting order just gets the 259 version back in the mail.
Now, this isn't just for Mythcrest. This has apparently been happening with HeroCrests for 272 upgrades as well, so it doesn't matter which upgrade you're going for. Currently, there is a chance your upgrade will fail.
Losing 80 of either crest is definitely going to hurt, and right now there doesn't seem to be any way of getting those materials back, even if customer support acknowledges that your crafting order bugged in some way.
Thankfully, this bug does seem to be quite rare, much rarer than folks suiting 20 capes over the course of two weeks, but I figured it's definitely worth knowing about, and if you do run into this issue, once again, know that you're not the only one.
It is a known bug, but we're not sure on a time frame for when it will be fixed, and there's no way of knowing if it will happen, or any recourse for getting a crafts pack if it does happen. So, if you're a little bit wary, maybe wait on upgrading your crafted gear until we hear more.
Fingers crossed all these problems get ironed out, so you can gear up and upgrade your gear without having to worry about wasting your time or your crests. But that's all the interesting loot bugs that have been plaguing the start of Season 1,
so that's it for this video. Have you run into any of these looting or upgrading problems? And if you have, which pieces of gear have you been getting over and over again?
