foreign I'm glad to be here sorry I'm a few minutes late getting started I said we'd start at 9am our time it's 907. so I promise I'm gonna give you um plenty of time today what we want to do um what I want to do is I want to get to answer your questions we're going to focus today on the blogging system the webinar that went out earlier this week um there was probably a lot of questions because frankly there's only so much we can cover in a single video so I'm happy to take those questions um about our blogging system about just the process and how you can be more successful so feel free to go ahead and just type in whatever questions you have again I'll prioritize those questions that are about that video but I'll take any other questions as well uh Katarina says there's an echo are others of you hearing an echo from me all right let me see if I can figure out this audio real quick is that better all right I'm gonna go ahead and assume that's better all right let me know if there's any problems going forward um there's always something with technology when we go live especially because I wanted to use OBS to stream because I want to be able to go to my screen and stuff if there are questions that I can answer there so um there we go okay I did um thanks Carl I appreciate having you here um I'm going to go ahead and go there was a question here does hosting play a role in ranking um So and I've taken this because it's the first question asked even though it's not necessarily about the blogging system and I think that's totally fine um hosting only plays a role in ranking and so far as hosting can limit your ability to serve like content to people okay so um if your hosting is like you have bandwidth issues you run up against the bandwidth limits in your hosting and so suddenly you get error Pages like the content cannot be served then that's obviously going to have an impact in your rankings if that's a regular thing likewise if your hosting is the limitation on your core with vital scores that can have an impact on your ranking core web vitals is not like a major ranking Factor but it is a real ranking Factor so we need to make sure our sites aren't like the slowest but really that's the extent that hosting plays in terms of um your rankings in Google or really any search engine Andover its are there changes in the pricing plan for project 24 based on the updated system not for right now um right now we're in an environment that inflation is kind of crazy for us it's something that I haven't personally experienced in my lifetime but we're seeing the cost of everything going up which means the cost of my team is going up because their living expenses are going up everything's going up but because everything's going up and I understand that you like if you're trying to learn how to do this it's because you're trying to generate an income you're trying to take control of your personal finances and build your own business and I think that's fantastic and I want you to be able to do that so I'm kind of balancing that right now and so for now my plan is to essentially do our inflation sale which is I'm not going to change the price but I don't know how long that will be feasible so in the short term there's there's no change planned even though we keep adding to it in fact we didn't change the pricing last November when um when we added our entire YouTube system with Nate from Channel makers for those of you who are familiar we have an entire system like the blogging system but it's for YouTube and how to be extremely successful on YouTube we added that and also did not change the price so um for now we're keeping it that way all right I got a let's see all right the questions are starting to really roll in uh mostly fit admin how many blog posts can make to one thousand dollars um so how many blog posts to get two thousand dollars I was doing the um just the math the other day and it worked out to like on average and this is if we can get to a level of traffic that is about 300 Page views per month per blog post which um we found for project 24 members they averaged at least based on the survey data we're able to get they averaged more than that our goal in Project 24 our goal is always about a thousand page Visa blog post on average which is um a lot 500 is kind of the the the real goal the realistic goal and most project 24 members are landing somewhere in the four to five hundred range um based on that and kind of average earnings for most bloggers in Project 24 which includes um most of the time we're talking about ads and affiliate Revenue combined um comes out to a little over thirty dollars which is pretty awesome thirty dollars per thousand page views and so the math on that ends up working out 300 Page views per article uh on 100 articles a little over thirty dollars um per month per thousand page views and it's about a thousand dollars a month so 100 blog posts on average is is kind of a good rule of thumb but it's gonna it's gonna um really really depend on the content and the search analysis uh how to re-index a site in bing um really like Bing has their own uh webmaster tools I would definitely use that um to make the request really being just like Google is automatically indexing content I find that they tend to do it faster than than Google does eyewitness tea um is here from Boise so uh welcome I love uh finding that we're like reaching people all over the world but sometimes it's also kind of cool to find like we reach somebody that's here with us nearby and um and it it seems like it took a while for like people around us to find us it's like we were noticed by a few people just spread out all throughout the world and so not a whole lot of local people but now it's starting to pick up um uh Janet Simmons asks um when I started I knew nothing and she was a terrible domain name like actually terrible is it worth switching if it really is terrible I think it's worth switching not necessarily because of its you know history or whatever but like if the name is just terrible like how are you gonna build any sort of brand around this how are you going to make it feel like an authority at all and I know with like most people Niche sites are never intended to be authoritative but I always like to have that in mind in case I decide to really build Authority eat is becoming more and more important um in in Search and uh in beating out other content even if your content is better and if your domain is something where you're like how am I ever going to be authoritative with this domain yes go ahead and switch it earlier the better it's not um too terribly hard to do just use um make sure that when you're done that you go and use uh that first of all that you load that you set up your site in Google search console beforehand connect it and then after you're finished making the change notify Google through their change of address tool that'll help sort of speed up that process of re-indexing um let's see uh Google have ranking issues with free domains okay this is a good question there's so I'm assuming we're talking about free domains like you know but the blog spot the wordpress.com type domain names um I do find that they don't tend to do as well but I think it has less to do with the domain name and a lot more to do with sort of like the content that ends up on the free sites as well as um it has to do with the limitations that those sites have like there's just a lot of stuff you can't do it has to do with people's perception of those domains they seem less professional less legitimate like it's an actual organization which is funny because a lot of times we read blog posts and we want it to be a person not necessarily like a company but it just feels like free domain if it's obviously like a free domain it's um you know like a subdomain of wordpress.com then it just kind of comes across like this is sort of a you know a side thing that I'm just doing for free versus like something I'm really putting real in um like real effort behind so I think people's perception is probably a driver behind that too which could mean that algorithmically Google just suppresses those um but it's mostly because I think that's the behavior that people have had for a long time I definitely recommend still using domain names and extensions that are well known and well accepted so we said for years.com now we're getting into us into a time where there are other extensions that are becoming very well known and very well accepted especially within certain industries for a lot of things in software technology dot IO it's totally fine um and so if you're in that space and there's not a good.com available dot IO is going to work just fine for you um Rafael pazzos asks is it really a new blogging system seems like it's the same project 24 as usual are you still using the 60 steps I'm glad you asked this question so um here's what's different I'm going to see where did it go all right oh it's on that side I want to show you guys um I'm going to go ahead and show you around just a little bit um I'll show my screen so project 24 itself looks kind of the same as it always did um I mean we added some new thumbnails for the courses and everything but where it's changed the old blogging system originally was based or the old blogging course was based upon the 60 steps the 60 steps were initially something that Jim and I created when we created what we call Niche site School uh several years ago and it was literally just like 60 steps in 60 days we send you an email each day with with the step we developed that further built it out more added a lot more instructional content to it um but still it was the 60 steps when we launched project 24. so the instruction teaches you how to do it but the 60 steps were about the actions that we take so there were 60 lessons um and see here the blogging system currently has 75 this number will just change over time because we're going to be adding more and replacing content as needed but uh what used to be 60 steps when we launched our blogging course about a year ago last May um it turned into about 50 I can't remember the exact number I think it was 53 lessons and each one of those lessons was instructive so the original 60 steps there were a whole ton of lessons that didn't have any instruction they were just like now go write the next blog post well now we have lessons that teach you how to do things and then say okay but in this phase you're going to write 10 response posts and and before you move on to the next phase and get that next instruction you you should write 10 blog posts 10 response posts so that's one of the things that changed so in the blogging course this last time we added a lot more instruction and then the steps were just kind of built into the um the instruction and kind of built into what we what we showed you but there are a lot of actions that just didn't have their own separate lesson um with the blogging system what we've done is we've taken that further um and we've we've put it into these phases and that's what the webinar was all about it's important that that you learn the right fundamentals the right principles and skills uh to be successful with this we found over the years that people could follow the 60 steps but then oftentimes would end up kind of lost when they were done they're like okay now what and we say well now you need to write some response posts and some staple posts whatever the right balance is for your content hopefully you know that by now and many people didn't and it's because they never had to learn every single step was outlined perfectly for them until that point we had other instructional content about how to revamp your content with our Battleship audit we had a whole course about eat and how to build that but again um kind of when and when to implement that like at what stage was never explicitly stated and so what we've done this time is uh we've got these different phases phase one of the blogging system is actually intended to be something where I mean you get started right um You have you select your Niche but then we move on from phase one and after each phase and in the later phases that last longer oftentimes throughout the phase you're going to come back every now and then to some of these uh lessons about sort of how we reevaluate or review our own site um and so it's we've we call it the compass phase because it's an opportunity to come back and sort of get redirection reevaluate things and determine if you're going the right direction with your website so this is one we actually come back to and then in phase two phase two is the starter phase phase two and three are going to look a lot like kind of an update of what we had in the blogging course so we're going to walk you through step by step building a site we're going to teach you search analysis we're going to teach you how to write a response post how to do answer targets we have a whole course on answer targets and the different types and how to win Google Snippets through those um it's all sort of built in it's all part of phase two and it's there's a lot in phase two a whole bunch of lessons um that's all phase two right there so by the end of that you're going to know how to do search analysis you're going to be really good at response posts you're going to know how to write answer targets and you're going to have written at least 10 response posts and then in phase three you're going to kind of move on to the next step we're going to start talking about topical Authority that's something we never covered before in the blogging course um we're going to talk more about interlinking we're going to finish getting our website really set up we're going to learn some more SEO stuff and then one of the things that we had wrong not wrong but it's something that happens a lot with teaching with instruction is um I'll go ahead and sorry I'll go ahead and switch back to the camera so you guys can see me while I talk to you um anyway one of the things that a lot of times is is done wrong I would say in teaching is that you teach a principal and then you move on and that's it we never readdress it we never come back and that's not very effective when I was in in college or the university um it was it was interesting um I studied chemical engineering and one of the things that was kind of a joke was we have to take like five thermodynamics classes before we really know what it is and how it works and that was only kind of a joke right because we had to take a physical chemistry class that taught a lot of thermodynamics we had to take a thermodynamics class that was all about thermodynamics we had to take a a heat transfer class which is about thermodynamics we had to take a separations class which was also about thermodynamics I mean in the end like we had learned some of the same principles numerous times but also from different angles and so by the time we graduated we had a pretty good grasp of thermodynamics and then the people that go get Advanced degrees they really learn even more about what thermodynamics is and how it works right it's a really complicated scientific principle that most people know very little about search analysis is kind of like the blogging version of that search analysis is a skill that you get better at as you do it but if we try to teach you everything we know about search analysis at the very beginning then it's just like drinking from a fire hose you can't do it very effectively so what we've done is this time around in phase two you learn all the basics of how to do search analysis you can do it effectively there really it's like the main principles we've always taught before of search analysis but now in each phase after that there's another lesson on search analysis that sort of takes it a step further that gives you some other techniques so um anyway I think that's a really good question because in some ways we can look at this and say how is this different all we've done is kind of grouped lessons together and added some more but really what we've done is we've we've built it out into a this phased system so the idea is that we Master these principles in this phase we do a certain number of things within that phase like a certain number of blog posts written Etc and then we move on we could you could watch all the videos in phase two and you could do it in a week and try to move on but if you haven't done all the steps if you haven't written on the blog post if you haven't done all those things and in some ways sometimes even watch some of those lessons a few times to really understand it and then go practice it in writing a blog post if you haven't done that then you're not really ready for the things in phase three so that's the point here okay so back to questions I know there's a whole bunch coming in here so sorry um but I thought that was a really good one to to talk about um let's see oh Brittany says hi from Middleton you're just down the street we're here in Star um she says just curious do you find that the sandbox period is longer for ymyl sites yes we um it's funny and we we don't ever really refer to as the sandbox because there's a concept that the sandbox is like a specific thing like Google puts you there and then they take you out of there um it's more like there's just a period of time where there's not trust established yet and so the algorithm isn't picking it up and that period of time ends up different for every site um I mean and depending on kind of how you do it what content you create Etc that period can often be shortened or lengthened um and so the reason we don't call it the sandbox isn't because we just like naming everything but mostly because there's this concept that like Google deliberately puts sites there for a long time and then after a certain amount of time passes they get to finally get out of the sandbox and go play with the big kids we always refer to it as the ghost town phase it's like you built up a business and people don't know about it yet and so the word of mouth isn't spreading um but that's kind of a separate thing I do find though that for ymyl sites on average it does tend to take longer there's a kind of a longer period of time required to establish enough eat for your content to compete with other sites that that maybe already have some eat and that are already established that are already ranking so it yes yes it does tend to take a little bit longer an admir asks is it possible to earn 5000 a month only from affiliate marketing absolutely um I like I have one uh company I'm an affiliate for that pays me like six or seven thousand dollars every month another one that probably pays me six thousand a month now I I get it you would say well yeah but your income school and you have a YouTube channel but the reality is Um this can be done in so many different niches but we kind of have to get out of the mindset that affiliate marketing means Amazon or it means pedaling really inexpensive things or um you know at super high volume we we find that oftentimes a website that maybe even has just two or three things that it recommends throughout the site regularly but not in every post clearly um but those things are valuable really kind of high ticket items with a good affiliate program those kind of sites and tend to do really well with affiliate marketing and so you can have a whole ton of really good informative content throughout your website that's not intended necessarily to sell but through interlinking directing people to other helpful pieces of content we can end up getting a lot of people to those articles that are well monetized with those affiliate links we you can also use your email list to to sell those products you that gives you an opportunity to warm people up a lot more so we use informative content to drive people to an email list there's some sort of lead magnet and then we now have an email list of people who we can warm up um who will develop a certain level of trust for us if you also only have like a few higher ticket affiliate products it's a lot easier to make some videos and video content establishes a lot more trust with the audience than just written content if somebody writes an article about a product um whether it's a software product or a physical one or whatever people are really skeptical today because for the most part a lot of bloggers for years have been writing reviews of products they've never even used and so if there's if you have video content you're going to establish that much higher level of trust we find that absolutely to be the case with selling our own info products but uh yeah so if you only have a few big affiliate products it's a lot easier to make a few videos that you can embed in articles on your site where it's relevant and that's going to help Drive um more affiliate sales as well um okay um I'm asked why are you guys not using web stories frankly it's a matter of time and prioritization um it's funny I get asked a lot like why aren't you doing this why aren't you doing that I think web stories are a good idea I don't I don't frankly see them a lot when I'm using Google web stories don't show up a lot nearly as much for me as video I think video is an extremely valuable form of content but I think web stories um certainly have opportunity but it's just not something that's been the priority so I played around with them when Google first came out with their WordPress plugin we made a video about it that video did really well uh the few web stories we made are fine they're out there but we just haven't prioritized it and a lot of our written content right now is written by our team of writers and we haven't trained them on creating that form of content I think we could um if we see that there's a high value in it but again like in my own use of Google I'm just not seeing them um I'm not hearing much about them so if there's not a lot of Buzz around them if people aren't seeing them a lot and maybe they are maybe I'm just not but um anyway it just hasn't been one of the top priorities over the last couple years um you said in your last video that Curry day now comes in the second month but you used to say it comes in seventh month so has the sandbox system of Google for new sites changed um not necessarily but we have a lot of members who are within a couple of months starting to earn the first few dollars and so one of the things that's that's happened is as um as people are writing articles that and sorry writing answer targets and winning Snippets um we find you can win a snippet a lot faster than you can rank an article so on a brand new site we have people with a two-month-old site ranking number one in Google because they want to snip it because they wrote the best answer Target and so we're driving traffic to websites sooner and to get to Curry day um it doesn't take a lot we just need to get enough traffic that we can monetize it um with ads or some Affiliates and so it doesn't necessarily come in month two we find that it can come in phase two um probably more often for people in early phase three somewhere in phase three your first ten articles in in phase two that's all you write in phase two and that takes about a month so or in theory it takes a month right uh some people are going to spend longer even on their first 10 articles and so some of that also just kind of is based upon the assumption that you kind of keep up with that timeline a lot of people don't a lot of people say you know what I can't put in the time to do that that's okay we have a lot of members who say hey mine was a project 36 but I made it that's I've seen that happen several times others who are saying hey it's a project 24 25 26 for me um some who are saying hey for me it was Project 20 and it's just really awesome to see that in our community um let's see um Patrick says I hope the question hasn't been asked yet but how much content is included in the new blogging system so I was wanting to do this I ran out of time um before but I want to show you I'm just going to show you um because it'll be easier than well because I don't have a number for you just in this in the blogging system Alone um sorry I gotta switch screens in the blogging system alone uh we have eight hours of new content that's never been out before but we also have a ton of uh of lessons of content that are that was already in the blogging course so the blogging system has 75 lessons videos ranging everywhere from about a minute and a half to well over a half hour depending on what the topic is so um let me just go here to all categories so this is just the blogging system um and so you can see like 75 lessons uh and again some of them short like this one this last one's um a little over 17 minutes this one's about 10 a couple shorter ones just almost two um I've got several in here though that are much longer there's one that I filmed um that was just how to do a review of your own site so if you came to me and said will you review my website I walk you through step by step how I do that review what are the things I look at and I do a review of one of my own sites there for that video and I want to say that one landed a little over half hour yeah 36 minutes um so there are some of those that are much much longer this one Niche selection so that one says oh it's only 27 seconds on selecting a niche well so this is where I wanted to show you because this isn't 75 lessons some of these say okay that you know picking a niche and so you then click open to that and it's actually a whole other course that has 12 lessons that walk you through step by step picking your Niche there are a few others like that we have a course on answer targets that just goes through all like all of the different types of Snippets that Google has and how to win them and why I get the question all the time why would you want to win a snippet because doesn't that make people not click on the blog post the answer is it doesn't have to make people not click on the blog post more often than not the answer to people's questions at least the types of questions that they're going to that we're going to write articles for the answer to the question is almost always it depends and so we're not going to write a snippet that says it depends in the snippet we're going to write a straightforward answer if somebody asks for example what is the range like fuel range of um not I guess I shouldn't say fuel range what is the range of an electric motorcycle well which model which one are we talking about and are there upgrades available so they could even ask like what is the range of a zero motorcycle electric motorcycle they could even ask about a specific model but the answer is still going to be it depends because there are usually upgrade options there are modular batteries you can add Etc right and so what I'm going to do in a snippet is I'm going to answer the question um truthfully right I'm going to say the range of a zero motorcycle is uh anywhere from 50 miles up to about 150 miles most of them uh the or the base models typically land around 90 miles or whatever then uh then I'm gonna say but you know some some sort of segue that basically says but um let's you know let me show you the options that impact what the different ranges can be and so then throughout the article I'm going to talk about um the different models how what their range is I might even have a table that spells this out well if if I'm somebody who wants to know about this if I just want to know like tell me about how what the range is then okay you've answered my question but if I have any further like desire to know more I'm actually considering buying one then I want to know some more of the details so I'm going to go to the blog post and so for the most part we're not going to write the kinds of articles that you can answer the question in a sentence or two we're going to write the kinds of articles that it's almost always there's more to the answer and so um winning Snippets ends up being a really good thing because it gets your content to the very top you rank very quickly to the very top bypassing numerous other articles and your content gets kind of highlighted and featured at the very top above the people also ask oftentimes above all the ads I mean we're seeing the first page of Google filled with paid results it's crazy I think that's one of the biggest drivers of traffic decline for people with this algorithm update by the way is now we're seeing so many more ads that we're just getting pushed further down uh at least for now it could be that Google just needs to make up a little bit more money in this quarter and then maybe it'll go back to normal anyway so that's kind of a tangent so we have a whole course on that um on winning Snippets with answer targets we have a whole course on eat how to build that we have a I mean all of this stuff is built into the blogging system we tell you exactly when it's time to go do those things um we have a course on Battleship our Battleship audit which is how you go and analyze where your content where it ranks how much traffic it gets and determine if maybe we should go back and revamp that content if we should just abandon that article just leave it out there but you know it's not an article we're going to worry about in the future um whether we should update blog posts that sort of thing so we have all of that for the blogging system then we have similar stuff for YouTube um we're going to teach exactly how to start a YouTube channel how to how to grow it like crazy how to use it to generate a great income most YouTubers don't realize like they don't come from the same background that we bloggers do and so most YouTubers aren't thinking affiliate marketing info products they're thinking oh I want to get monetized maybe I can get some sponsorships which is great sponsorships are great for YouTube um but it's just not the only option and so we teach all of that stuff in our YouTube system as well so both of those are included um and then we have lots of other resources we have our community we keep a database of affiliate programs that project 24 members have joined that are really successful um I'll go to that real quick because because um I like this within a lot of these like if you click on them members have even like rated them in many cases so like the income School affiliate program um a win just is as a uh platform right some of these are just platforms but uh what you know what's been the project 24 member rating a lot of this information here is provided by project 24 members who found that affiliate program these are the general ones so that's why they're all big ones that you've probably already heard of but there are some uh really good ones that are more Niche specific art business um hobby gaming home parenting fitness health I mean it just keeps going and again these are all ones that have been submitted by members as good programs that they've been a part of we have our glossary um recommended tools the book work energy that Jim wrote is uh available just for audio just to listen to for project 24 members our community we have our masterminds I really like this a lot we have our podcast as well by the way we do um what six of them a month three in blogging and three in YouTube but we also do these um we call them masterminds they're kind of more like group sessions sometimes webinars where we talk about various topics um and members get together this is all just included as part of project 24. so we're trying to provide all the resources we can all right back to the questions back all right um I think this is a good question Prem Kumar says I keep getting pulled toward the popular niches I want to do something else but I don't really know what so how do you overcome that um we get pulled toward the popular niches because that's what we've seen work and so that's what's like at the Forefront of our mind it's the availability bias right um we're going to be more inclined to think about the things that we've seen before and so really what we have to do almost is take a step back away from blogging and just think about what are the things that I know something about what are the things I just have interest in without blogging in mind and um by doing that you know in our knee selection course picking profitable niches uh we off will have people kind of ask themselves a lot of questions like you know what are the kinds of things that people come to me for when they want advice um you know what's something that maybe I don't know everything about I'm not an expert yet but I'm really interested and I'm willing to learn a lot about it um I find that it's really important to pick a niche that is a good fit for you more so than picking one that's like perfectly monetizable perfect like has and tons and tons of searches or like uh search volume I find that if we focus a lot on a niche that will be successful but it's not one that we have like a distinct interest in chances are our follow-through is not going to be the same and so I actually find it's more beneficial to pick a niche that you're going to have some interest in because you're going to be more likely to um to want to work on it even when you're writing content and you don't have anybody reading it yet that ghost town phase can be one of the biggest hurdles in blogging and it's awesome because it's also like because it's a hurdle it's a barrier to entry and so we have a lot of people who are trying to shortcut it and so they're creating crummy content or they're just giving up altogether which helps make make it so that we can be more successful because not everybody in the world is blogging which is awesome um asking if I can do more site reviews in the future sure I'd be happy to do more site reviews um on the YouTube channel here um Caesar 94 USC says I'm project 24 member and I would like for my site to be reviewed I wasn't sure if I should post it in the community or that service is not available so um we don't currently have like one-on-one site reviews in Project 24 as a service it's something I'd like to be able to offer it's just um we still are a pretty small team and so our time ends up being really limited I work a ton I'm always working so we have some members who are really great and are all willing to give feedback all the time um so what you might do is you could post in the community saying I have a website in this Niche and I could really use some help I need some eyeballs on it if you're willing to um to look it over would you please send me a private message in the community we have members who are really leery about posting their site publicly even within our community it's kind of something that just in this industry people are leery about it and understandably so we've seen people's content just get completely swiped and posted on somebody else's website which is ridiculous I don't know why people keep doing that but it is what it is but what I find though is we can we can do that we can post those questions I also find that if you go with a specific question in mind maybe there's a specific blog post and you want to ask about a specific aspect of that blog post you're going to get a lot more feedback than if we just say will you guys look at my site it's just a it's a big commitment to take the time to do a full site review for someone but if somebody asks a specific question and I can go look at a you can link to a specific blog post and I can look it over and give you feedback on a few things I mean what we find is numerous people within the community willing to do that people who have um been very successful at this already I'm participating in the community everybody at income schools participating in the community and so oftentimes you'll get us looking at your site too with that kind of a post um I want to start a blog in developing a career in project management what search can I do to see if this is worth pursuing and what should I look out for um one of the things I like to do just to kind of get an idea is I'm gonna go back to my screen see this is why I like using OBS even if it's going to add some technical difficulty every now and then so um here we go I'm just going to go to Google Trends I'm going to type in project management it's searching project management as a search term but we'll give me that as a topic project management project involvement project management Professor professional is a specific certification that's a different thing oops app project management okay so then I might go back further so I can see the trend but one of the things I like to do to verify sort of the size is I then like to compare it to another Niche who's um who that I know like I know it's feasible like I know there are a lot of people um that have built successful sites in that so I'll give you an example fish keeping I know there's enough search volume there um so I'm going to go ahead and do that one and then what it's going to do is it's going to compare them look at that fish keeping now here's the problem it's using fish keeping as a search term let's go ahead and use it as a topic because then it will include things that don't necessarily say fish keeping in the search and notice like still project management seems to have like 40 times as many searches as things involving fish keeping um let me let's see fish tanks I'm doing that instead of aquarium simply because um aquarium officer refers to like places that you go kind of like the zoo but for fish and stuff so fish tanks okay so I know I know I know there are enough people searching stuff about fish tanks about fish fish's pets to justify that niche so project management yeah absolutely so um to me that tells me that the search volume is there so that then brings me back to the question um about developing a career in project management so uh project management as a career is a I mean it's a big one it's one that's a ton we know that there's search volume for project management and so focusing on that like absolutely I know there's going to be enough search volume so there you go that's one of the things I like to do to verify sort of the size of a niche um this project 24 help in selecting a profitable niche my interest include setting up website WordPress sites internet radio stations podcasting is there a niche that I can use my experience as an advantage yeah absolutely um if that's if your interest is in things like that internet radio stations podcasting like yeah um even setting set up a WordPress sites that kind of stuff yeah absolutely you can do that um we do have an entire course in Project 24 on called it's literally called picking profitable niches so we do um we do get people in the community that will ask the question um they'll say hey I have an idea for my niche here's what I'm thinking just you know give me some feedback here and am I is this too big too small is this um way too competitive help me help me out here um and you'll find that you'll get some good feedback as well um if I pick Finance as a niche would I be setting up myself to fail as a newbie probably unless you're willing to do YouTube which even there's it's kind of competitive um Finance is a very hard one because not only is it very competitive but it's also very much ymyl it's hard to give any sort of financial advice without it having impact on people's money and so why myl's your money in your life so that means that Google in particular is going to be pretty particular they're going to want to make sure that your content is accurate and one of the ways they do that is by trying to determine if you and your website are authoritative on the subject and when you're first starting out you have no online Authority it no it helps if you have any sort of credential if you work in that field and your name is on the company website or something like that and you can use schema markup to say I am the same person that shows up here as a partner at this financial firm or whatever well okay then we have a little bit more eat kind of to your name and you have a better chance there for a first time website I would steer clear of that for the most part I find um hobbies are often really good Hobbies Sports um just I mean we've done so many things in like Outdoors but a lot of craft websites um just whatever your interests are I find that hobbies are a great place to start they're some of the easier ones to get started with um let's see men was praised as I quit college a week ago to focus on the niche site currently I've written 20 articles at this point it must work pretty good results only after a week 104 Impressions on Google search console in two clicks well I mean that that's gutsy I think um that's fantastic if you're devoting full-time to it then you're gonna I hope that means you're gonna really go after it and um and make this work for you I have really high confidence that it can work but it doesn't always work for everybody um it does take having the skill it does take the hard work but man like we found the process to be very repeatable and um you know we have members who are so confident in it they do it once and then they're like oh this is awesome and so they build a second site and a third site and it's like wow it works every time because they understood it they developed the skills um and they put in the work each time so it's awesome I do have very high confidence and I wish you the best I hope that really works for you um let's see we've got the question here uh Ricky nowadays how many pages is expected to get per average Post in 2017 we said a thousand um yeah a thousand is always our goal and it's still our goal internally um we don't always hit it but oftentimes we do we have a lot of blog posts that get well over that I did a video actually I'm trying to just I'm trying to remember if it's out yet or not but I recently recorded a video um actually it might have been for project 24 I've done so many videos for this blogging system too um where I was looking at cook for folks and on that site we have I think like five articles that have over 3 000 page views every single month um but we have a lot of articles on that website and there are quite a few of them that don't do near that so um it's kind of just spreads out and so for project 24 if if a member were to hit 500 page views per article on average it's an average you're never going to hit it every time I would say they're doing a good job a really good job I mentioned earlier we found the number in a survey that we did we found the number landed more like between 4 and 500 was the average for project 24 members which I think is still quite good um if you hit 300 and you hit kind of an average earnings for at least for a project 24 member then 100 blog posts would get you to about a thousand dollars a month but we find that the further along you get the better you get at search analysis and at content writing and oftentimes the number of page views per article tends to go up um soap School says I want to add a Blog to my website but it's not on WordPress will it impact me if I have a Blog on a subdomain no I think that's just fine in fact it's pretty common for people with like e-commerce sites and stuff or other business websites where the um the website is for their business that they have then it's not uncommon for the blog to be on a sub domain it's going to be just fine uh yeah I don't see any reason why that wouldn't work uh I mean you're probably going to end up wanting to drive traffic from the blog to other parts of the website and so that interlinking and stuff will help as well um let's see yes um Zechariah I'm glad you asked this question um your opinion on full black hat AI generated content and auto blogs a waste of time yes it is a huge waste of time um can they work in the short term they absolutely can will they get figured out I absolutely will and I actually think there's a bigger problem with it it's not just that like it's not a long-term sustainable method if that were the only problem then it'd be like okay but if it's AI generated and I can just have a good system for it then I'll build a website and then it'll fail but by then I've built three more and that's fine they'll fail but I'll build 10 more after that the problem is you're destroying the industry by doing that people's like credit The credibility that bloggers have with normal everyday people has been on the decline um and I don't want to say that like to scare everybody like oh no I should stop blogging because it's still like good content is still actually driving a ton of traffic like I said I mean on cook for folks we're getting a lot of traffic it's really good um but what's happening is there are a lot of people who know that oh if I go to a Blog I'm going to get a product review from somebody who's never touched it and now it's even worse I'm going to get a product review written by a computer how is that helpful right um and so anyway because people are realizing this they're they're seeking out their information elsewhere um Google is giving more and more preference to video I think uh there's a couple reasons for that one is because it's you can't fake it the same way you can on a Blog there's the black hat stuff just there's no there's not a real equivalent for that on YouTube it's just totally different um but also because Google owns YouTube and if they can keep people on their platforms then they make more ad Revenue so there's that too so I think video content is going to be really valuable going forward but blog content is still really effective still makes great money but man the more that we erode people's trust in what we write the more this whole industry is going to just fall apart and so people that are focused on this AI generated crummy content they're just going to erode that trust even faster and you know at some point it's just going to make it harder and harder and harder to make any money so yes you can make a little money in the short term with crummy content written by a computer but how long is that going to last Google's just going to get better at it it's just going to get better and better and better at identifying it right off the bat so um I don't know how long it's gonna It's Gonna Last that uh people will or that Google will actually ever give any um credibility to that kind of content let's see um is it possible for a thousand people to buy an affiliate product like an 800 product to have experience with big commissions yes um it is possible it is uh the bigger commissions are harder to do at like large volume but um but it is certainly possible and then certainly a lot of people effectively Do It um we make great income from some we'll call them higher ticket items oftentimes they tend to be subscription so I mean income school right there's certain products that like everybody who wants to build a website needs you got to have hosting right so it's a really easy sell for me to say okay this is my favorite hosting now of course I'm not going to recommend something that I don't use myself and that I wouldn't use myself right now my recommendation is cloudways for hosting I use cloudways I use it on boatloads of sites because it's really good it works really well for me and for the price I haven't found anything better even close to better so that's an easy sell for me but it's uh I get a Great Commission from it right and you can say well that's not a high ticket item but yeah but it's a high payout item hosting uh word WordPress hosting or website hosting is one of those where it's not too hard to earn a hundred dollar sale commission um and so I don't I don't need to sell a thousand dollar product because it's a subscription um so even though people are only paying like ten dollars a month cloudways will pay me a hundred dollars so there I am exposing myself right um as someone who has earns affiliate commissions um of course I earn affiliate commissions if I didn't practice affiliate marketing I wouldn't be very good teacher of it but there are lots of things like that there was a member who he I mean he talks about this um in an interview we did with him several years ago but he uh his item was not a high ticket item but it was a very high volume item and he was able to negotiate because it was a digital product an information product he was able to negotiate a 90 commission so even though it was an inexpensive product his payout was relatively High whereas if you know if he were to recommend an e-book on Amazon he'd make 50 cents but instead he makes like nine bucks with each one so uh that's something to look for it's not necessarily that we want to push just super high priced items but we want to look for things that have good commissions also I just find it's way easier to sell products that we actually would want to recommend so my first consideration when choosing a product is what's the product I would use and then from there if I have some options then then I'll probably look at who has a good affiliate program but yeah first and foremost is the Integrity if you if you have a good integrity and you recommend products that you would actually recommend to like your mother then you're going to be a lot better off um do you know if FAQ schema can impact the possible winning of a Target over a snippet in Google yeah I think so I don't think it's Nest I know it's not necessary but if you're going to have like an FAQ kind of situation on your website like in a blog post you're going to have an FAQ section and you want to hopefully win a snippet for those individual questions yeah I would use FAQ schema I think that's a great idea um but uh it's not necessary to win the snippet it but it could help um mostly because it's just alerting the search engine easily like this is a question that I'm answering um which which is awesome um how much does it matter if you stray away from your domain name that's a good question the example given if Dirt Bike Planet would write about skateboarding kickboarding ATV riding Etc I think it's okay to stray um I do like the domain to be still relevant to some extent like if on dirt bike planet we would start writing about ATVs that's not too much of a stretch right even like utvs side by sides you know um not a stretch skateboarding feels kind of like a stretch from dirt bikes um doesn't have a motor very I mean it's a very different kind of product right and so does that matter not necessarily what matters I think a little bit more is um the content and how related is the content so if I wrote One article about skateboarding on dirt bike Planet I wouldn't expect it to do very well because it's not a website that has any Authority on skateboarding but what but if I wrote a whole good cluster of content around skateboarding and covered some aspect of skateboarding in detail then okay maybe within that aspect of skateboarding that site could then become or at least be start to be viewed as authoritative at least for that segment of content around skateboarding I hope that makes sense so the domain name probably matters less than just having enough content on that topic to have that topical Authority um I think that's really important if we spread out too thin and we have a little bit of content about a ton of things we never build any Authority in any of those things it's one of the things that I'm pushing a little bit more in our blogging system now than we than we've really talked about for a long time but I'm finding that to really be the case so that's my bigger concern um it's for that reason by the way that I often like to pick domain names that are just a little bit more branded and a little bit less like on point topically I don't care about exact match domain names dirt bike planet is pretty exact match um we just take dirt bike and add a word to it that makes it a little bit more brandable we played around with that a little bit more with like I mean outdoor troop was also like that's about the outdoors um but um you know when we did inbora pets it's like it's a pet site but it's more of just like we could have made the whole side about dogs or cats but it left us room to make a site about anything right that had to do with pets so um I do like that as well um oh I just saw one and then it jumped away but oh there it is student Baba currently 30 of my traffic is just from one article I know it's very risky what should I do um if you'd like me to review the site I know I don't um I don't look at them too often but I do have a link in the description of like all of my more recent videos where you can submit um either questions or um you can even submit a website or even a specific article through a form that I checked through that form and to look for ideas for videos so that would be the place to submit the website as opposed to here um but you know yeah if you want to submit it there I may be able to take a look at it here on the channel but um yeah what what to do in that sort of a situation one if that one article is driving it that much of the traffic we need to consider why so one thing we can do is we can go into Google search console and see what are the searches this article is winning if you find that you are ranking well and driving traffic for searches that weren't necessarily the the main point of that one article great let's go write another article that covers that question better than our first article does is that going to steal some traffic from our main article yeah it probably will it'll probably outrank that one article for that search query right but what it does is it gives us more security because all it's going to take is somebody else writing an article that's more on topic for those other search those kind of tangential search queries and and then you lose those and you see this one article just tanking in traffic and you don't know why because it's still ranking number one for your primary search query right um so we do see that happen a lot and so that would be one of the things I'd recommend is go find out what all it's ranking for and then add some other content to help make sure that at least your website wins for those other queries um other things you could do is um you can use that article to try to drive traffic to other content on your websites through interlinking if you have other articles that you know are really good content but they aren't driving a lot of traffic organically because they're not ranking that well yet um Interlink from that one article to those other ones try to get more and more people that come to your website to click through to those other articles and then um that will help kind of send signals that that's good content it'll help boost um those articles kind of their authoritativeness and then they can rank more organically and so essentially we can lift some of the other content on the website and then the other thing you can do is just add more content in general we know now that that's a good topic so can we build out kind of a cluster of Articles around that topic that cover different angles different aspects of it than even that one article covers to help because we just know that there's a lot of volume around that topic and so now you end up with the whole cluster of content driving traffic around that whole topic and so hopefully that's substantially even more traffic but now it's also spread out across um all of the articles in that cluster of content all right let's see um okay let's see Victoria asks hey Ricky if an SEO tool deems post language to be too difficult to read but the readers are highly educated how do you find the right balance like they have a University degree plus you know what like uh I think that's the right thing to do we should write content for our for our target audience now um if there's a chance that you could be attracting readers to the website that maybe aren't as educated then okay maybe we do want to um add some additional context in to to the content that we write but overall what what the SEO tools say for readability I flat out ignore um I've I mean I've I've taken University and um graduate level courses on Communications writing business Communications in business school I mean covered a lot of stuff and really is probably the most applicable course I've ever taken for blog writing because business communication is kind of similar in the sense that like we need to get to the point we need to State our Point clearly we need to not just use too many flowery words we need to structure It And format it in a way that's going to be really easy for our eyes to follow because if I'm writing a business email to somebody I need them to see the most relevant stuff even if they just scan through it and then and get the point right and be convinced so it was a really good class for that um and uh and still I can write a really good article and yoast or rank math they'll tell me that they'll tell me about all these changes I need to make that some paragraphs are too long and some are too short and it's like you should vary the length of your paragraphs actually they'll tell me that some sentences are too long it's like you should also vary the length of your sentences they tell me that I don't use the target keyword enough it's like well nobody cares about the target keyword I use various versions different words that mean the same thing and I show that they're semantically equivalent within my post that actually helps the search engine a lot more so anyway the the algorithms that are used for those tools are very limited and so I would ignore them um and if you think you're writing to your audience to the right people uh that you're using the right vocabulary um the right style of writing then go with that and if it's working then who cares what the tool says if it's not working then okay maybe we need to better clarify and Define the things that we're talking about so that not only can people but also the search engine can recognize what the content is and what it really means um okay okay so I'm gonna have to wrap up here um and I get a lot of questions here I'm going to go ahead and um I'll take okay I'm gonna take two more uh first one will be kind of quick what do you think of tools like zoic and yoast I think that um the SEO tools like yoast and rank math they have their place um if you want to do schema markup they're really helpful for that um people rely on them far too much I don't type in a Target keyword because any of the keyword analysis that they do in your content is silly it's irrelevant the readability analysis is as I was just mentioning also just silly um but if you know if I want my search um if if I want to show up in search with certain things like I don't want I do or I don't want my the name of my website to show up at the end of all my headlines um if um you know I do or I don't want just certain information to be passed to the search engine um if I want to no index certain content on the website and if I want to use schema markup for all of those things yoast rank math they're good tools for that zoic in particular I like izoic for ads mostly because they I found for 90 plus percent of people meaning basically everyone that isn't like a complete expert on AdSense it's about the only option that you can use before you have like 50 000 sessions on your website every month um and the pr I like the programmatic ads I like that I have um that I have access to advertising outside of just Google even though azoic is mostly serving ads that are provided by Google I just find that the earnings tend to be substantially higher on a zoic than if you try to just do AdSense I've tried some of the other ones the media.net the um and and I've just found it's it's a lot harder to be effective to make good money with it whereas with the zoic um yes they make you learn how to use their tools they also make you take a test to make sure you learn how to use the tools they do that because they don't make almost any money from small websites um really they used to require you to have 10 000 visits a month on your website before you could use their tools we convinced them to change that a few years ago we met with them and said people need to start earning money earlier so that they stay motivated so now they don't have a bottom limit um but because of that and they're not making like almost any money from you at that level they can't dedicate tons of resources to helping a whole bunch of beginners and so they make you learn how to use the tools first and then take a test and if you pass it then great you can go set up a zoic I can set up a website on a zoic in a few minutes it's not that hard but it is confusing the first time through if you don't know what you're doing and if you don't use all the resources they make available to you to learn so that's one of the biggest complaints I hear with the zoic um I think it's but I think it's a great opportunity because I think it is fantastic that they've enabled bloggers to start earning an income much sooner um for programmatic ads I also really like mediavine it's fantastic they've got some really neat tools they have something coming out that um will be I think pretty helpful but that you won't have to be a mediavine you won't have to have mediavine ads to be able to use so that's that's pretty awesome um I think they're a great company really good people uh but again you have to your website has to get bigger before you can move on to mediavine um just that's the way their business model works so I think those tools are great uh when used in the right ways and then I have several questions here around um I'm not I'm not I'm in like India or in another country where ad rates are really low or I'm not a native English speaker um you know what do I do so you know admir you're asking English isn't your native language do you start a blog in English and use Google Translate to write your articles while you're learning English um this kind of ties into the other question as well of like I'm in a third world country ad rates here are really low how do I Target um a more valuable audience for ads so what this comes down to is we need to decide who who we want our audience to be and feasibly like who can we make an audience out of so one of the hardest things isn't as much the language as it is like understanding culture understanding the kinds of things that are gonna that somebody in the First World countries are going to search making sure that we do good search analysis um so when doing search analysis I mean if you're not going to pay a bunch of money for a tool a keyword tool that's going to mimic um you know it's going to give you searches based upon what you know people are searching in the US or wherever um you know one of the best things you could probably do is for your search analysis try to use a VPN and um basically use Google but as you know using an IP address in the US or the UK or Canada or something like that that can help but really it's identifying the right topics and then writing the content in a way that is going to be helpful to that particular audience if you're just learning English you could use Google Translate as a starting point but it's the it's not going to be the same and it's going to become somewhat apparent just like if I were to write an article in English and then go translate it to um a completely different language you know then I mean it's just it's not everything is going to come through just right um and some of it's going to become pretty obvious and so best thing you could do is see if you could get someone to look over it and just edit it for you someone who is a native speaker that might be really hard if you're in a third world country but maybe you could use Fiverr and maybe you could do it pretty inexpensively um but I know again that can be really hard to do if you're in a third world country it's just going to be one of the best ways to ensure that your content comes across as readable to an American audience or to a first world audience uh also they're not just checking for language things but they're also checking to make sure the content is as relevant to that audience you're trying to Target as you think it is if it's not really relevant to them it's going to be hard for your content to rank um the good news is for most of you who are in like third world countries um you know it it doesn't take nearly the same level of success with blogging to be able to earn a great income so you know for us we got to be able to earn four five six thousand dollars a month to replace a normal job here um and that's usually not the case in a third world country um oftentimes the income you can earn from a Blog is you know we've got a lot of members who within a year are earning a thousand US dollars every single month um it's kind of about the normal time frame is about a year um and then about two years to achieve the four thousand dollar Mark um and then keep going from there right and so my point is that even if your content's not as good even if fewer of the Articles rank as well and drive as much traffic in the end even if you only do a tenth as well um as what our timeline would recommend as what our um what our goals and expectations would be even if you only do a tenth of that you're probably achieving a similar level of income based upon your local economy as we would be achieving here so there is that different level of work that higher level of work right and effort but um I don't know maybe you could just use Google Translate and you could uh just it maybe be good enough to achieve that level of income and then once you're there it's a little bit easier to build up so there's that option too I guess um all right uh let's see I think that's what that's all we're going to do for today uh there's there's a question here that's kind of itching at me so maybe I'll uh maybe I'll go ahead and take it this is from Michael Norris thoughts on Adam on Freud saying instead of taking one to two years to make full-time income if you do the top 10 products comparison you can make money faster like he did and make over a million a year I um I don't closely follow everybody in the industry mostly because I try to focus on what I'm doing and what's working um for me and so I'm familiar with Adam I've seen some of his content I'm familiar with what you're talking about the top 10 products I I question a bit some of the tactics I question the longevity maybe the speed's there but I question the longevity of it um maybe it's great maybe it works great but I I do have a problem with a few things I'm not going to go throw and shade in a YouTube live it's not something I'm going to do I'm not going to throw shade anywhere but I I think that there are some things that are part of his approach that are just not the way I want to do them and that's fine I that's not me casting judgment um it's just me saying it's not the approach I want to take um and so those are my thoughts on it um I when I have some time I'll probably watch more content I don't know um maybe I'll be convinced maybe I'll um I'll I'm always willing to learn more I don't um I don't by any means believe that I know everything or that uh there's no room to grow obviously project 24 we've been constantly um constantly evolving it and improving it and so um and so that's uh again something that we're always working toward and so maybe there are some things for me to learn that could help speed up the process but um I'm very much in favor of taking a very organic approach because it's been the sustainable and safe approach um whereas for the most part things that I found to really try to speed it up and make a ton of money really fast usually there's usually there's something in there that adds us a new layer of risk not even just a new element but even a whole new layer of risk that to me is just completely unnecessary um but anyway that's my thought on the subject there are um there are as many different ways to do this as there are people teaching how to do it and probably dozens more everybody that we teach over time sort of adapts the methods to the to themselves and I think that's fantastic there's not one way to do really just about anything there are a lot of ways to be successful what I want to do is provide a good framework for how to do that and that's what we've done with project 24 that's what we're trying to do here on this YouTube channel is teach those principles and if you want to watch our YouTube videos and watch a bunch of other people I think that's fantastic so actually one of the beautiful things about YouTube by the way um on YouTube people don't just like watch one channel um they don't just like search for something like they do on Google read an article or two and then leave oftentimes with YouTube people get lots of different perspectives and so there are a lot of you who watch my channel who are also watching numerous other channels you're watching Carl you're watching um Alex over at WP Eagle you're watching Adam you're I mean you're watching Matt Diggity you're watching all these guys and I think that's awesome learn everything you can learn um everybody that I have met I haven't met everybody um that teaches blogging online uh but everyone that I've met I've been very very happy with I think they're awesome people and Adam's probably the same way he's just one I haven't actually met and so um again can't really say anything more about him uh awesome well uh that's all I have to say about that there's um a ton I would I would love to keep answering questions forever um there's a ton more we could probably talk about even related to the blogging system so I'll try to do lives a little bit more often I'd love to get on as frequently as I can so um anyway other questions that you have that you'd love us to do a video on like I said earlier in the description of most of our videos like basically every video for probably the last almost a year has a link to submit requests ask questions submit
