A fresh report by ZDNet quotes industry sources familiar with plans to launch an upgraded Switch 2 model with a But while apparently in discussion, these plans remain uncertain due to the [00:40] reported OLED screens are widely considered better quality than LCD which higher manufacturing costs that will need to be passed on to the consumer and existing semiconductors and other electronic components an issue that has [00:56] Switch to price increase just a year after the platform launched. Should OLED plans, development on the model could begin late this year with mass 2028. This would place its launch around the same time as the Switch One OLED, [01:11] Switch 2 launch. So far, there's been no word on a Switch 2 Light, despite the affordably priced version of Nintendo's and price point. Moving on, the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remakes [01:24] controversial $85 collection of Day One DLC apparently earned Ubisoft an extra $1 million on Steam. That's according to Alineia Analytics Ree Elliot, who the game's PC release. Ubisoft itself has officially trumpeted 2 million [01:38] 24 hours. While the game itself has been warmly received, fans have been less impressed by its optional extra packs, which total a collective $85, more than the game itself. The cheapest of these extra packs, the $5 map pack, reportedly [01:51] has a 6.34% Steam attach rate, meaning that around one in 15 players purchase Creed releases, highlights in-game collectibles without the need to discover their locations manually. Fewer people purchase the game's various $10 [02:04] cosmetic packs with an attach rate for each around 2% around one in 50 players. either Edward Kenway himself or his Jack Doll ship, though offer no real gameplay advantage. Still, for an extra 1 million in revenue, you can see why Ubisoft [02:18] keeps making them. And finally today, Ubisoft Barcelona developers who spoken out about the company's plans to lay them off just as their final project becomes a commercial success. Layoffs at Ubisoft Barcelona were announced last [02:31] month as part of a wider wave of job losses across the firm. 380 staff are spread across offices in Winnipeg and Belgrade, which will close completely in Barcelona and in the company's global publishing division. Ubisoft Barcelona [02:44] typically led by other larger Ubisoft studios such as games in the Rabid series and Star Trek Bridge Crew. For Black Flag Recync, the team worked on secondary activity that a separate team also worked on in the original Black [02:58] Flag. Manel Cota, a tech and gameplay animator at the studio, wrote on social media, "Ubisoft Barcelona did all the underwater levels, and that same team is thinks that's what we deserve." Ubisoft plans for its Barcelona team to now [03:11] focus solely on the Rainbow 6 franchise, IGN understands, as part of wider repeated reshufflings and redundancies across the whole company. Ubisoft has numerous studios recently. In January, [03:24] Prince of Persia: Sense of Time remake, and closed two studios while making layoffs at its office in Abu Dhabi, at trial studio Red Links, and at Avatar Entertainment. Just a week after that, Ubisoft announced plans to ditch 200 [03:38] jobs at its company headquarters in Paris. Next, in February, Ubisoft was long-awaited Splinter Cell remake remained in development after 40 jobs were eliminated at Studio Ubisoft Toronto.
